Sif and the Warriors Three (First Update)
Watching the rainbow beam vanish in a flash, Coulson, who had finally "persuaded" all the townspeople to leave and rushed over in time, instantly grew tense. "Director Wang, are the enemies here? How many are there? How strong are they? Should we immediately request a missile strike?"
Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye—the Avengers’ only three members—also tensed up, ready to attack at any moment.
Miss Jane clutched her binoculars, practically trembling with excitement.
Aliens! More aliens had come, and a war was about to break out!
So exciting, so exciting.
"Eh, eh, eh? There are only four of them. They kind of look like… She-Ra, Jackie Chan, and Robin Hood? Are they playing cosplay? I think it looks pretty good… J.A.R.V.I.S., help me ask She-Ra for her phone number. Ask if she’s free tonight. I want to invite her to watch cartoons."
A teasing voice rang out. It was Tony.
Something this important naturally couldn’t be kept from Tony, and J.A.R.V.I.S.’s global surveillance would have spotted it anyway—
Besides, Tony himself was a consultant for both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers Initiative. How could he ignore his own affairs?
Egghead, who was desperately short on high-end combat power, welcomed Iron Man’s free support with both hands.
It was genuinely free, the kind that didn’t even require reimbursement.
Compared to a certain Wang, Mr. Stark was practically a saint.
"Sir, I wanted to do that too, but your drone was shot down. That She-Ra did it," J.A.R.V.I.S. replied.
"All right, looks like she’s got quite the temper."
Tony yawned. "Send me their pictures."
Several photos quickly arrived at Hammer Base’s command center.
The moment Thor saw the four people in the images, he cried out, "Sif! Volstagg! Fandral! Hogun! Don’t attack, don’t attack! They’re my four warriors, my brothers!"
The moment she heard that, Miss Jane froze completely. "Thor, is something wrong with your eyesight? That Sif is the legendary Goddess of Land and Harvest, right? She’s a woman, a woman! And you call her your brother? You, you couldn’t possibly…"
Could he possibly have unusual tastes? Was he gay?
Wait…
Were you sure you saw Director Wang as a brother, and not…
That kind of thing?
"Uh, I’ve always treated her like a brother!"
Thor was so excited that he gestured wildly. "Sif is determined to become a Valkyrie! You know Valkyries, right? They’re Asgard’s strongest female warriors! Father once said that even in the era of the Valkyries, Sif’s strength would rank at least in the top three!"
Yes, you treated her like a brother, while she had always wanted to get on top of you… Old Wang nodded. "Lady Sif and the Warriors Three are honored guests. They’re reinforcements sent by Heimdall to help us deal with Loki!"
"More reinforcements?"
As Hammer Base’s commander and the second most important person present, Coulson beamed. "Looks like things aren’t as bad as we thought. Is this Heimdall on Thor’s side? How strong is he? Can he beat Loki? Can we ask him to come help us?"
Before Old Wang could answer, Thor immediately shouted, "Heimdall is Asgard’s guardian, the keeper of the Bifrost! He was once Asgard’s strongest warrior. He must have sent Sif and the Warriors Three to bring me home!"
Everyone present treated Thor’s inexplicable confidence as if they hadn’t heard it.
You wanted to go back.
But your brother had to let you.
You straightforward idiot, did you even understand the situation?
You were fighting for the throne here, not playing house. If you lost, people would die—a whole lot of people!
"Heimdall is loyal only to Odin. Sending Lady Sif and the Warriors Three to Earth without authorization must have enraged Loki."
Old Wang said, "If I’m not mistaken, the enemy will attack soon, and Loki will make a move against Heimdall as well. We can’t count on him."
"That’s impossible!"
Thor clearly had absolute faith in Heimdall’s strength. "Heimdall has the divine sword Father gave him. Even if Loki has Gungnir, he’s no match for him! Every warrior in Asgard respects Heimdall. With him there, Loki can’t even mobilize the army!"
"That was before."
Old Wang snorted. "Have you forgotten what I told you? Loki is Laufey, King of the Frost Giants’ son. Think about it—if he got the Frost Giants’ artifact, the Casket of Ancient Winters, would Heimdall still be his match?"
Thor shuddered. "Th-this…"
Ever since he was little, Father had told him stories of the war against the Frost Giants. The battlefield had been Norway, where they were now.
Thor, who had only recently charged through the Frost Giants’ realm with Sif and the Warriors Three, knew Laufey’s strength very well. He was roughly on Thor’s level, and Thor was confident he could take him down head-on.
Yet that mediocre fighter had managed to blind one of Father’s eyes. Wasn’t it all because of the Casket of Ancient Winters?
With the Casket of Ancient Winters in hand, Laufey’s offensive power could even rise to Skyfather-level or Father-level.
Loki was not Laufey, so the Casket of Ancient Winters in his hands probably would not be as powerful. But it should be enough to deal with Heimdall.
Heimdall…
He wasn’t dead already, was he?
"Stop worrying about Heimdall. He’s safer than you are. Focus on what’s in front of us."
Old Wang waved a hand. "Who’s going to bring those three over?"
"I’ll go, I’ll go!" Thor was eager to try.
"Forget it. Let’s all go find them. Wherever you are, that’s where the battlefield will be. Let’s move the battlefield as far out into the wilderness as possible. Don’t destroy this town. People still have to live here, and it wasn’t easy to build. Construction workers work hard."
Old Wang smiled and opened a portal.
Thor: "…"
Then why did you even ask?
"The rest of you stay behind. No need to get in the way."
Old Wang glanced at Coulson, then turned and stepped through first.
Thor hurried after him, followed by mustached Tony, who was busy having J.A.R.V.I.S. scan the portal, and finally the Avengers trio.
On the other side of the portal stood four dumbfounded cosplay enthusiasts.
Tony had compared the four of them to She-Ra, Jackie Chan, and Robin Hood. There were clearly only three people in that comparison, so which one was so lacking in presence?
The Warriors Three were easy enough to identify.
The biggest one, carrying an axe, was Volstagg. He looked like an oversized Middle-earth Dwarf, an upgraded version of Gimli. One look told you he was a berserker warrior wielding twin axes.
The swordsman with the golden mustache was Fandral, probably the most handsome of the Warriors Three. With his dashing face and beautiful blond hair, he was rather charming when he smiled. A standard weapon warrior.
The nameless grunt holding a flail was Hogun. His specialization was hard to judge, but he was definitely a warrior.
He was not an Asgardian, but one of the neighboring Vanir. His physique was somewhat weaker than that of the Asgardians—though still far beyond that of humans—but his agility was even better. He was especially fierce in battle.
Sif was naturally the most striking among them.
She had a broad forehead, a bright space between her brows, and the look of someone blessed by fortune. Her black hair was tied into the simplest ponytail, making her look especially capable.
Sif was not a conventional beauty. She combined the charm of both men and women, possessing an androgynous beauty. Women could easily see her as a best friend, and men as one of the guys. Of course, it could just as easily be the opposite—Thor was an example.
The advantage was that she appealed to both sexes. She had probably endured plenty of groping and confessions from female friends—
Though Sif seemingly did not have any female friends, unless male best friends counted.
With eyes as sharp as an eagle’s, a back as straight as a pine, arms pale as lotus roots, and long legs like steel pipes, Sif’s first impression was that of a warrior—a brave and formidable female warrior.
All four wore matching Asgardian alloy armor, making them look both imposing and ridiculous.
An orange portal suddenly appeared, immediately drawing their attention.
Since when had Asgard had sorcerers?
None of the four were scholars. They were classic slackers whose Nine Realms history lessons had mostly been attended in their dreams. They were nothing like Loki, and did not even understand Earth’s basic situation.
They paused in slight confusion, then saw Old Wang lead a group of people out. Among them was the close friend they had been longing to see.
All four of them broke into smiles.
"We found you!"
Volstagg laughed and shouted, "My good friend, my brother, Thor!"
Thor hurried over and embraced Volstagg.
Then he hugged Fandral and Hogun, and finally pulled Sif into a tight embrace.
"Sif, my warrior, thank you all for coming to help me!"
