Sky Shield Project! Hua Ye Invades the Milky Way Again? The Great Sage Emerges from Seclusion!
Jupiter, the largest planet in the Solar System, had been named the "King of Planets" by some. In a sense, it should have been a world suitable for life.
But unfortunately, Jupiter’s internal temperature was too high, severely hindering the formation of life and leaving it a lifeless planet.
Even so, Jupiter still held crucial significance within the Chi Wu Star System.
That was precisely why Chu Yang had chosen this place as the first target for building the defense system.
Looking at Zhixin, who carried a bit more mature charm than she had a year ago, Chu Yang teased, "You and Zhao Xin are glued together every day. Why didn’t he come with you?"
Zhixin blushed, saying somewhat shyly, "He… he’s training recruits…"
Although Earth had won the battle on the Void Battlefield, the Super Soldier Company had suffered heavy losses and needed fresh blood.
The original members, who had already reached the level of godly lifeforms, naturally took on the role of instructors without hesitation.
Chu Yang swept his gaze over the three of them and said simply, "The defense system for the Solar System is actually quite straightforward…"
"Ge Xiaolun and I will use the Concept Rewriter to construct an outward-facing one-way protective barrier around every planet. Leina will provide energy support through the Heavenly Dao Tower."
"I’ll attach the power of black holes to the barriers, filling them with countless controllable miniature black holes."
"That way, no matter how powerful the incoming energy strike is, those miniature black holes can devour it all."
"Zhixin’s task will be ensuring perfect compatibility between the protective barriers and the miniature black holes."
Chu Yang’s words were concise, but what he said left everyone stunned.
"C-Coach… you’re not joking, are you?"
Ge Xiaolun swallowed. "Controllable miniature black holes? How is that possible?"
In the Known Universe, black holes represented the unknown and danger.
Wherever a black hole formed, regardless of its size, it would generate tremendous gravitational pull, constantly devouring everything in the universe and rapidly expanding.
Black holes were practically synonymous with being uncontrollable. Yet Chu Yang had proposed the concept of controllable black holes. It was simply unbelievable!
"If the technology for controllable black holes didn’t exist, how could Carl have created the Black Hole Engine?"
Chu Yang smiled. "I’ll attach a special force to every miniature black hole. Under the effect of that power, the black holes will possess absolute stability."
"Of course, that will reduce the black holes’ destructive power infinitely, but if they’re only being used for defense, it’ll be more than enough!"
Zhixin’s eyes widened. "A special force? New energy?"
Chu Yang shook his head. "No. My power."
Leina asked tentatively, "So… if something happens to you one day, all the miniature black holes in the defense systems will lose control?"
Ge Xiaolun said blankly, "That would be a nightmare for the entire Milky Way Galaxy!"
Chu Yang waved a hand. "Leaving aside whether the Known Universe even has anything capable of threatening me, even if, in the worst-case scenario, something really happens to me…"
"Then even if the black holes don’t lose control, Earth and Flame Sun will still be doomed beyond redemption!"
Everyone fell silent. Chu Yang was Earth’s guardian god—he could even be called the guardian god of the Milky Way.
Countless civilizations coveted Earth, but Chu Yang, the supreme god, kept them suppressed, leaving them too afraid to cause trouble.
If Chu Yang died, Earth would become a target for everyone overnight. Its destruction would only be a matter of time.
"Understood! Then let’s begin!" Ge Xiaolun took a deep breath, his eyes resolute.
"There’s one crucial key to all of this—the Heavenly Dao Tower!"
Chu Yang added, "The Heavenly Dao Tower will provide energy support to every defense system. If anything happens to it, the defense systems will collapse across the board."
"I need full authorization over the Heavenly Dao Tower and for it to establish a connection with the Pangu Calculation Core."
"If Flame Sun encounters a danger it cannot handle, Pangu will be able to protect the Heavenly Dao Tower immediately."
"Not even the Big Clock can threaten Pangu!"
Leina hesitated only briefly before nodding decisively. "No problem!"
In the past, Leina would never have opened the Heavenly Dao Tower’s full authorization to an outsider.
That would have meant exposing Flame Sun Civilization’s entire technological tree.
But Chu Yang was different. He had long since mastered Flame Sun Civilization’s core scientific technologies. The Heavenly Dao Tower’s database held no secrets for him, nor did it have much value to him.
On the contrary, once it established a connection with the Pangu Calculation Core, the Heavenly Dao Tower would receive a degree of computational support. It was actually a good thing.
"Then let’s begin!"
Chu Yang waved his hand, and everyone displayed their abilities, beginning to raise the Chi Wu Star System’s first celestial protective barrier on this lifeless planet!
Chu Yang had proposed this plan long ago, and it had received full support from China’s upper echelons.
He named the plan—the Sky Shield Project!
Protecting every celestial body of sufficient significance within the Chi Wu Star System would be a long process.
Fortunately, Chu Yang had Ge Xiaolun and the other two helping him, along with support from the Pangu Calculation Cluster, making their work highly efficient.
Even so, the process took nearly three months.
The nine planets, including Earth, took the most time because of their immense size and the larger area the Sky Shield needed to cover.
Next came hundreds of satellites and certain more important asteroids, and the efficiency of that process increased dramatically.
Over three months, Chu Yang and the others extended the Sky Shield System across hundreds of thousands of asteroids, thoroughly arming the Chi Wu Star System to the teeth!
With this, even a supernova explosion would not disrupt the balance of the Chi Wu Star System. At most, it would destroy some insignificant asteroids.
It was worth mentioning that Chu Yang had put a great deal of effort into the sun. Since the Sky Shield System consisted of outward-facing one-way protective barriers, it simply could not withstand the sun’s extreme heat.
Chu Yang and Ge Xiaolun could only use the Concept Rewriter to create an independent Sky Shield framework for the sun before finally encompassing it within the system.
Once all of that was done, news reached Earth.
The news put leaders across Earth on edge. The Super Soldier Company went on high alert as well, accelerating its training schedule and entering a state of war readiness.
Hua Ye had risen from the ashes and returned, his spearhead aimed directly at Earth!
Neither Du Kao nor Lianfeng had expected this. They had learned from Chu Yang that Hua Ye was undergoing Carl’s modifications—in other words, being resurrected.
But they had never expected Hua Ye’s first act after his resurrection to be leading an army to Earth’s doorstep!
Upon further thought, though, they understood. Whether Hua Ye wished to reestablish the Heavenly Palace Order, conquer the Angel Nebula, or dominate one region, he could never avoid the towering obstacle that was Chu Yang.
The Heavenly Dregs had no right to wage war. If they started a war against any civilization, they would face the collective assault of the major civilizations in the War Council.
But if they could deal with Chu Yang, the War Council would collapse on its own, and no one would be able to stop Hua Ye any longer.
As for the Angels?
If Chu Yang had not stripped Hua Ye of his Black Hole Engine last time, Angel Civilization likely would not have been able to withstand the Heavenly Dregs’ offensive at all.
Since Hua Ye dared to head straight for Earth this time, he clearly had confidence and possessed a method even stronger than the Black Hole Engine.
If even Chu Yang could not handle it, then forget the Angels—even if all the advanced civilizations of the Known Universe were bundled together, they would still be no match!
Earth, Super Soldier Company Combat Command Center.
The entirety of Gorge City had now been transformed into an enormous steel fortress, serving as the Super Soldier Company’s headquarters.
Meanwhile, after modifications by Ge Xiaolun and Zhixin, the Gorge-Class had been upgraded from an aircraft carrier into a universe-level warship, floating above Gorge City.
At the command center, Du Kao and Lianfeng stood beside the console, where a holographic projection of the Milky Way Galaxy’s star map hovered. Both wore grave expressions.
Du Kao raised his head, looked at Ge Xiaolun and Zhixin across from him, and said in a deep voice, "The Heavenly Dregs’ army is at our doorstep. A battle is unavoidable. Xiaolun’s proposal just now was excellent. As long as our God-Slaying operation against Hua Ye succeeds, we can seize the initiative in this war!"
Ge Xiaolun took a deep breath. "Earth absolutely cannot become a battlefield for the gods once again. This time, we must strike first!"
"At the same time, we must prove to the entire universe that even without Coach Chu Yang’s protection, Earth cannot be violated by others!"
Lianfeng nodded and looked at Zhixin. "Coach Chu Yang has gone to the Angel Nebula. Do you know why?"
Earth was so tense because after completing the Sky Shield Project, Chu Yang had left the Milky Way Galaxy for the Angel Nebula.
With a great battle imminent, Earth’s guardian god had departed. That was not good news.
But they all understood that regardless of why Chu Yang had gone to the Angel Nebula, his intention was most likely to keep Earth from becoming overly reliant on him.
The Super Soldier Company’s upper ranks all knew that the Satellite Barrier Project, the Sky Shield Project, and the Gemini Star Project were all preparations Chu Yang had been making.
Some of those preparations were for the day he would eventually leave!
Though they did not know where Chu Yang was going, they could understand it to some extent.
In terms of power, Chu Yang had surpassed Holy Keisha. In terms of technology, he was catching up to the Space Principal.
At Chu Yang’s level, the Known Universe no longer held much worth pursuing. Instead, he wanted to try and put into practice things beyond the understanding of life itself.
During the previous battle against the Heavenly Dregs, the Super Soldier Company had shown its edge for the first time, making every civilization in the universe realize that Earth’s power could not be underestimated.
In the war against the Demons, the Super Soldier Company had struck hard on the Void Battlefield, entering the ranks of advanced civilizations in one decisive move.
This time, they would let the entire universe know that even without Chu Yang’s protection, Earth could stand at the top of the pyramid of cosmic civilizations!
Whether it was arming the Chi Wu Star System or training the Super Soldier Company, Chu Yang had never rushed things. He had proceeded step by step.
Having been tempered by the battlefield, the Super Soldier Company now feared no god!
Zhixin shook her head. "I don’t know. I asked the Queen about it through the Tianxin System, but even she was quite surprised."
The Tianxin System was a defense system Zhixin had built for Freyja based on the One-Nine Defense Line. It fully reflected He Xi’s teachings.
Du Kao thought for a moment before saying, "No matter what, Chu Yang’s departure is already a fact. No one can help us in this war. The Super Soldier Company can only fight its own way into a clear sky!"
At that, his tone softened somewhat, and he smiled. "But I do have good news for you. This might make Xiaolun’s God-Slaying Plan go more smoothly!"
Everyone was slightly stunned. At a time like this, what good news could there possibly be?
Du Kao lightly tapped the console. Deno No. 3 connected to a communication channel, and then he asked with a smile, "Wukong, how long until you reach Gorge City?"
Sun Wukong’s somewhat muffled voice rang through the command center. "Wait a little longer! I’m eating in the City of the North Star!"
"Brother Monkey?" Ge Xiaolun’s eyes immediately lit up.
"This is…" Zhixin froze. "The Victorious Fighting Buddha?"
Lianfeng nodded. "The Great Sage was originally in seclusion, but before Coach Chu Yang left, he helped him complete his breakthrough. So he emerged ahead of schedule."
Du Kao said irritably to Sun Wukong, "You’re a god! Do gods still need to eat?"
Sun Wukong seemed annoyed by his nagging and said impatiently, "Who says gods can’t eat?"
"I, Old Sun, have been in seclusion for more than a year. Now that I’ve finally emerged and am about to go to war again, can’t I first catch up with an old friend?"
"I’ll arrive in Gorge City before dark!"
With that, Sun Wukong directly cut off the communication.
Du Kao was left speechless, while the others shook their heads and laughed.
City of the North Star, the same courtyard residence, the same pavilion.
Sun Wukong ate heartily while Su Xiaoli sat across from him, resting her chin in her hand and smiling. "Slow down. No one’s going to steal your food!"
Sun Wukong swallowed his mouthful and gave a thumbs-up. "Sister-in-law’s cooking is truly unbeatable. That guy Chu Yang really is lucky!"
Su Xiaoli’s smile became even brighter at his words.
After Sun Wukong had eaten and drunk his fill, Su Xiaoli lightly waved her hand, putting away the bowls and chopsticks. Then she took out a syringe, blinked, and said,
"Brother Monkey, now that you’ve eaten and drunk your fill, let’s draw a tube of blood!"
Sun Wukong’s expression stiffened. Gritting his teeth, he said, "I knew you wouldn’t invite I, Old Sun, to a meal for no reason!"
"People who share a bed really are all the same!"
Su Xiaoli smiled sweetly. "Brother Monkey, I’m much more considerate than Yang-ge. At least I treated you to a meal before drawing your blood!"
Sun Wukong said nothing more, grumbling as he let her draw a large tube full of blood. Just as he was about to leave, Su Xiaoli stopped him.
"Yang-ge asked me to give you this. He said that if you can comprehend the method within, you might be able to break free of the inherent framework of super genes and become a true cultivator!"
As Su Xiaoli spoke, she handed over a jade slip.
Sun Wukong accepted the jade slip uncertainly, turned it over repeatedly for a long while, scratched his cheek, and asked, "How do I use this thing?"
Su Xiaoli flicked out a ray of light, instantly shattering the jade slip. Streams of light surged out from the jade slip and burrowed into Sun Wukong’s brow.
Sun Wukong stood frozen on the spot. His expression shifted from confusion and bewilderment to solemnity in an instant, then finally became one of utter shock!
