So Expensive to Fund?

Harvey ate as he patiently listened to Sonia’s explanation.

He himself had not put much thought into building a major power, because his original reason for drawing people into the Void

was that while granting others blessings, he could also obtain large amounts of Void Energy and benefit himself.

However, after establishing the Void Cult, Harvey discovered that being the God of the Void was indeed not such a simple matter.

After all, these members were not like those on Earth, who would continue praying even if god gave no response, satisfied with nothing more than peace of mind.

The various Void Cult members were all foodies. If they were not properly managed,

any one of them who intended to wreak havoc could go to some backward world and rule supreme there.

However, after experiencing Xandar’s advanced technology, there probably would not be many willing to go to those backward, primitive planets and rule supreme.

It was not that they could not do it, but that there was not much meaning in doing so.

Not every place in the universe was like Xandar, with appearances highly similar to humans.

The races on many planets looked bizarre, and some races even resembled insects.

Setting aside whether their races and aesthetics matched, the money of civilizations that had not connected with the interstellar community was worthless to the various civilizations of the universe.

He might not have been rich enough to rival a nation on Earth, but he still had plenty of money. Yet after coming to the universe, he had to start earning again from scratch.

Tony was the same. Tony had been a super-rich man on Earth, but after coming to the universe, he still had to reconsider how to make money.

As for burning, killing, looting, and seizing women by force, there was simply no need for such things.

Because the universe had no shortage of women, of every possible style. There were even countless customizable beautiful female machines.

And the way to get intimate with these women was not difficult either: all one needed was money.

With the strength of the Void Cult members, they had countless ways to make money.

"The plan is good. We can also consider not hiring only outsiders to do it."

"We can consider having other Void Cult members do it as well."

After hearing Sonia’s plans for the future, Harvey considered them for a moment before speaking.

"I had thought of that as well."

"However, at present, the Void Cult’s power has not been fully established."

"Nor do we have anything unique to the Void Cult that would attract the other members."

"So according to the original plan, it would probably only formally take shape ten years from now."

Upon hearing this, Sonia pulled up projections of plans further in the future.

"The Void Cult currently does not have anything unique, but it does have things that can entice people."

"As long as we offer higher compensation and make them willing to do it, that will be enough."

"Some Void Cult members have the ability to take bounty missions directly. Setting aside that bounty missions will eventually run out, those few will definitely have idle time."

"Most Void Cult members probably rely on their powerful physical abilities to do all kinds of work outside."

"Since they can work for others, they can naturally work for the Void Cult as well."

"And while doing so, they can use their own brains to buy or research various technologies beneficial to production."

"As long as the results of their farming and breeding reach the expected standard, it does not matter how they do it."

Harvey spoke after hearing this.

"Mr. Kassadin, your plan can allow Void Island to establish a self-sustaining cycle ahead of schedule."

"However, I estimate we will need to bring Mr. Tony here."

"Because implementing the plan you mentioned will require a great deal of money."

After hearing Mr. Kassadin’s words, Sonia thought it over, calculated the approximate amount of funds that would need to be used, and spoke.

"How much income does Void Island have in a year now?"

Hearing that they would need to bring Tony in just to have enough money, Harvey asked.

"After expanding our scale, the gravity devices made by Mr. Tony have been selling extremely well, bringing in roughly 12.8 billion a year."

"Last year’s New Year Pilgrimage brought in 1.8 billion."

"So last year’s total revenue was 14.6 billion."

Sonia immediately brought out a report and showed Mr. Kassadin the various sources of income.

"Isn’t that already quite a lot?"

Hearing that the annual income was nearly 15 billion, Harvey spoke.

"That is revenue; expenses have not yet been deducted."

"Last year, we purchased twenty-four small islands at an average of 310 million each, for an expenditure of 7.44 billion."

"To establish connections and fixed inbound and outbound routes, each island requires 4 million a year, totaling 100 million annually."

"Also, to expand our scale, we need to develop the islands and purchase various equipment."

"Last year, we developed three islands, at an average of 100 million per island."

"Void Island has the largest number of resident members, and the ingredients consumed each day are also enormous, so we hired sixty additional chefs."

"The number of chefs on the island has now reached one hundred."

"The chefs’ wages can be offset through purchases personally paid for by the other Void Island members, but because food prices on the island are only slightly higher than their original prices,"

"the cost of selling ingredients alone requires an annual expenditure of 100 million."

"That brings the expenditure here to 7.9 billion."

Sonia began carefully going through the accounts for Mr. Kassadin.

"Last year’s net profit was 6.7 billion."

"Adding this year’s first-half income of 6 billion,"

"Void Island’s liquid capital stands at 12.7 billion."

"However, we still have twenty-two islands that have not been developed. Since we want to develop farming and breeding, each island will require initial facility funding for full development."

"Let us estimate 200 million per island from development to the start of operations. Facilities are not cheap, so that immediately deducts another 4.4 billion."

"Considering that many members will have no farming or breeding experience at the beginning, there will also be losses."

"So initial subsidies will definitely be necessary. Only then will they be more motivated to do it."

"Void Island will have only 8.3 billion in liquid capital remaining."

"That money is clearly insufficient to establish a sound internal cycle."

When Sonia finished speaking,

Harvey was dumbfounded as he looked at all the expenses Sonia had listed. Was building a power really this expensive?

"However, as long as the Void Cult establishes the foundation of an internal cycle,"

"these initial investments will not only be recovered later, but will also bring many benefits."

Seeing Mr. Kassadin fall silent, Sonia thought she had been too serious and discouraged him, so she hurriedly added.

"I understand. Once Tony comes over and earns more funds, we can consider establishing the internal cycle."

Harvey waved his hand upon hearing this, temporarily abandoning the plan to immediately begin large-scale farming and breeding.
