Spider-Men Assemble

When Wanda flared up, Wang Bert explained, "Don’t misunderstand. She’s someone I know."

Gwen came to her senses as well and hurriedly jumped out of Wang Bert’s arms. Then she said, "Thanks for saving me, but I don’t think I know you."

Wanda gritted her teeth. "Bert Wang."

Wang Bert said, "Really, don’t misunderstand. She’s Gwen. You know her too."

"Gwen? Why are you dressed like that?"

Wanda was stunned. She really did know Gwen. After all, Gwen was Spider-Man’s girlfriend, and they were about the same age.

Gwen was a little frazzled. "You recognized me even with a mask on? No, that’s not right. I don’t know either of you at all!"

Wanda looked at Wang Bert again. "Right, how did you recognize her with a mask on? You know an awful lot about her, Bert Wang. She’s Peter’s girlfriend."

Wang Bert smiled. "If I said I had X-ray vision, would you hit me?"

Gwen was horrified and hurriedly covered her chest as she backed away. Wang Bert waved his hand and said, "Just kidding. Gwen, come to the teahouse and explain what’s going on. Otherwise, don’t blame me for calling George. If he sees you dressed like this, he’ll definitely ground you."

Wanda nodded. "Definitely. He’s always been unhappy about your Spider-Man boyfriend."

Gwen was utterly confused. "My dad is indeed George Stacy, but where would I get a Spider-Man boyfriend? I’m Spider-Man myself."

"Let’s talk inside the teahouse."

Wang Bert said. Gwen hesitated for a moment, then followed Wang Bert and Wanda into the teahouse.

After a chaotic round of explanations, Gwen finally understood her situation. "This isn’t my world. In my world, Peter died right in front of me. Only after that did I become the real Spider-Man."

"You’re from another world? Haha, take a picture with me later. I want to send it to this world’s Gwen."

Wanda stared at Gwen with shining eyes, clearly finding this very entertaining.

Wang Bert asked, "How did you get to this world?"

Spider-Gwen explained, "I was patrolling in the air when the space ahead suddenly became incredibly distorted. I couldn’t dodge in time and got sucked in. Then I fell from the sky in this world, and you caught me."

"So it was my world, not the world where Spider-Man died. If that’s the case, the other Spider-Men will probably come to this world too."

Wang Bert thought for a moment, then asked Spider-Gwen, "Gwen, what are you planning to do?"

Spider-Gwen said, "I want to return to my own world."

"If that’s the case, I’ll have Wanda take you to S.W.O.R.D."

Wang Bert smiled. "S.W.O.R.D. is an organization in our world that specializes in handling troublesome situations. Its director is Captain America, Steve Rogers."

"Captain America?"

Spider-Gwen was stunned. After hesitating for a moment, she nodded. "All right, we’ll do as you say."

"Don’t worry, we won’t screw you over. Otherwise, this world’s Gwen will definitely go ballistic."

Wanda smiled and said, "Come on, let’s go to S.W.O.R.D."

After the two women left, Wang Bert ordered, "Jarvis, monitor New York and look for unusual people. For example, a poorly equipped Spider-Man, a Black and White Spider-Man who can move without clothes, a Machine Spider-Man, and the cartoon character Spider-Ham."

"Are there really that many Spider-Men?"

Jarvis complained, then said, "I’ll begin searching immediately."

Wang Bert said, "Mm. Once you find them, send someone to make contact and bring them back to S.W.O.R.D. They aren’t bad people."

Jarvis replied, "Understood."

Above the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan, the Blonde Spider-Man from another world looked down at the familiar yet unfamiliar city below, his expression full of confusion.

It was familiar because it was still Manhattan, and most of the buildings and streets were the same. It was unfamiliar because floating sports cars occasionally flew through the sky, while the people on the streets had skin in all sorts of colors, like aliens.

"Did I somehow travel through worlds?"

Blonde Spider-Man muttered. Just then, an elderly security guard walked over and shouted, "Young man, get down here! Don’t stand up there like Spider-Man. It’s dangerous."

Blonde Spider-Man turned around and said, "I am Spider-Man. I don’t need to imitate him."

"I’ve seen plenty like you. You know Spider-Man likes looking at the scenery from the Empire State Building, so you dress like him, run up here, take pictures, and show off. Some of you even do all kinds of dangerous stunts."

The elderly guard sighed. "The problem is, Spider-Man won’t die. You will. Get down here before you die and cost me my job."

Blonde Spider-Man jumped down and reiterated, "I really am Spider-Man."

"You think wearing a few hundred dollars’ worth of Spider-Man merchandise makes you Spider-Man?"

The elderly guard looked down on him. "Spider-Man’s suit costs hundreds of millions of dollars, all right?"

Blonde Spider-Man exclaimed, "Hundreds of millions? Is his suit made of gold?"

"More precisely, it’s made of Vibranium. Wakandan nanotech Vibranium. The hundreds of millions is only the public figure. You can’t imagine the real price."

Just then, a voice came from behind him. "Also, I have two suits. The other one is the high-tech type. Nanotech Vibranium is great in every way, except it isn’t very compatible with high-tech systems."

Blonde Spider-Man turned around and saw another Spider-Man standing on the railing and looking at him. The other’s suit had a similar design to his own, but one glance was enough to tell it was premium gear. The texture was completely different.

"Now that’s Spider-Man."

The elderly guard smiled, turned, and left. With Spider-Man around, he could slack off.

Blonde Spider-Man looked at the other Spider-Man and was about to say something when they suddenly resonated with each other. Both of them shuddered at the same time—Spider-Men had a mysterious mutual sense, and that was also why so many Spider-Men had crossed worlds together.

"So you really are Spider-Man. My earlier sense wasn’t wrong."

Peter shouted. That was why he had said so much before. He was a little excited, excited to meet one of his own kind.

Blonde Spider-Man sighed. "Looks like I really did cross into another world. In my world, I’m the only Spider-Man."

Peter asked curiously, "Crossed worlds? You mean parallel worlds? Do parallel worlds really exist?"

"The fact that I appeared here proves they do."

Blonde Spider-Man said, "If I’m not mistaken, this should be related to Kingpin’s Super Collider."

"Kingpin? He’s been dead for ages. Uh, no, he isn’t dead. Mr. Wang turned him into a Vampire, and he’s been serving in the military ever since."

Peter said. War Abomination and War Lizard had become obsolete units, so Wang Bert had handed them over to the military entirely.

"Kingpin became a Vampire?"

Blonde Spider-Man was dumbfounded. "Who’s powerful enough to turn Kingpin into a Vampire? Wait, Vampires really exist?"

Peter was about to reply when Jarvis’s voice came through his earpiece. After listening for a while, he said, "Friend, could you come with me to S.W.O.R.D.? S.W.O.R.D. is an organization in our world that specializes in dealing with strange incidents.

Also, other Spider-Men besides you have crossed over as well."

"I’ll go with you and take a look."

Blonde Spider-Man agreed without hesitation—not because he trusted S.W.O.R.D., but because he trusted Spider-Man. Spider-Man was never a bad guy.

"Good. We can talk on the way."

Peter nodded. Then the two Spider-Men shot webs toward a distant building and swung away together.

Both of them laughed. The feeling was rather wonderful.

"Why are there two Spider-Men today?"

The citizens were a little surprised, but they did not think much of it. After all, anything happening in New York was perfectly normal.

It was a city blessed and cursed at the same time.

At S.W.O.R.D. headquarters, Hulk and Fat Thor were battling thunderously in the open area. Overall, Hulk held the advantage. Although Thor possessed Stormbreaker, five years of shut-in life had sent his combat ability plummeting.

At full strength, the old Thor could bring out one hundred and twenty percent of his power. The current Thor could not even bring out thirty percent.

"Your reactions are slower than a pig’s. Are you really Thor?"

Hulk dodged Thor’s axe and punched him in the side, sending him flying. Rather than pursue, Hulk sneered, "And you wanted to get rough? Anyone here could beat you down."

"Go to hell!"

Thor flew into a rage, drawing down endless lightning toward Hulk. Hulk smashed the lightning with one punch, charged forward, and rammed Thor hundreds of meters away, sending him skidding endlessly across the ground.

"Wow, the Hulk in your world is really strong."

Future Banner could not help sighing as he watched. Tony said, "This isn’t even his strongest state. He can transform into the God of Anger. More than a year ago, he tore apart half of New York."

"God of Anger?"

Future Banner was stunned. He asked, "He destroyed half of New York, and people don’t hate him? He looks pretty happy. That’s completely different from how things were for me."

"No one blames him. In fact, everyone likes Hulk. Sales of his merchandise are only a little behind mine."

Tony said, "As for being happy, that’s perfectly normal. He and Banner are about to become fathers."

"Betty’s pregnant?"

Future Banner was shocked. He looked at Hulk, his eyes full of envy. This kind of life was something he had always dreamed of.

At the same time, the two Ant-Men were chatting. Future Ant-Man sighed. "You had a much better life than I did. When I got out of prison, I got fired from every job I found. I couldn’t even afford child support, so in the end I could only steal.

Then I spent several more years under house arrest. Just when I finally regained my freedom, that bastard Thanos snapped his fingers."

"Compared to you, my life really is pretty good."

Scott nodded repeatedly. "I became an agent in prison, then became a Super Hero afterward. These days, I get hundreds of thousands a month just from merchandise dividends."

Future Ant-Man stared at Scott speechlessly. It would have been one thing if Scott did not comfort him, but he was actually rubbing salt in the wound. Future Ant-Man punched Scott and said, "You really are me."

"Of course I am. By the way, what is our daughter like when she grows up? Is she pretty?"

"Of course she’s pretty. I have pictures here."

"Send them to me, quick."

As Scott spoke, he thanked Blood God in his heart. If Blood God had not recognized his potential, how could he have what he had today? In the open area, Thor looked at the charging Hulk and shouted, "Stop!"

Hulk stopped and sneered. "Giving up?"

Thor shouted, "I’m not giving up, but it’s time for lunch. We’ll fight again after we eat. Hey, you, yeah, Coulson. Order me two buckets of fried chicken, and remember to get extra cola."

Coulson pretended not to hear him. I’m the deputy director. Why the hell would I order food for a dead-fat guy like you? Who do you think you are, the future Captain America?

"Thor, not only is your body ruined, your heart is ruined too."

Hulk shook his head. Thor fell silent. His spirit had already collapsed.

Seeing Thor like this made everyone feel a little miserable. Tony could not help saying to Wang Bert’s hologram, "Bert, if we can help them, we should try."

"I think so too."

Ivan said as well. Everyone stared at Ivan in surprise. This guy had actually changed his mind? Tony asked warily, "Madman, what are you plotting?"

Ivan gave a hollow laugh. "What bad intentions could I possibly have?"

Tony blinked, then asked Jarvis, "Jarvis, did you tell him about that conclusion we reached before?"

Jarvis answered through the computer, "He asked. I answered."

Tony’s face immediately darkened. This bastard clearly wanted to swoop in and take over.

Tony walked to Ivan’s side and said in a low voice, "As long as I’m here, don’t even think about it."

Ivan said unhappily, "Tony, be reasonable. You already have one. Do you still want another?"

"So what if I do?"

Tony shouted, "No, I won’t let my future self die, and I definitely won’t let Pepper become a widow."

Ivan snorted. "Forcefully interfering with fate? Be careful you don’t get yourself killed."

Tony glared at Ivan. Wang Bert complained, "Are you two about to kiss? Why are you standing so close?"

"Get lost."

Tony and Ivan turned their heads away at the same time. Wang Bert smiled and said, "They’re here. Continue the meeting."

Future Tony said happily, "Great. Hopefully, there really is a way out."

Inside the conference room, everyone stared in astonishment at Spider-Man, Blonde Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Machine Spider-Man, and Spider-Ham, whom Jarvis had found.

"Where did all these Spider-Men come from? And they include a robot and a cartoon character?"

Tony was a little dumbfounded. "I know I’ve said this many times, but I still want to say it again. This isn’t scientific."

The five Spider-Men looked at one another as well. Through their Spider-Sense, they could confirm that they were all Spider-Man.

A young Asian girl jumped out of the Spider robot and introduced herself cheerfully, "I’m Penny Parker from New York in the year 3145…"

Spider-Ham said as well, "I’m Peter Porker…"

Gwen removed her mask and said, "I’m Gwen Stacy. I heard there’s another me in this world too…"

"I’m Peter Parker. The reason I came here was Kingpin’s Super Collider…"

Blonde Spider-Man removed his mask as well. He looked different from Peter, making Peter breathe a huge sigh of relief. At the same time, Peter looked curiously at Gwen. They really did look exactly alike? "Super Collider? Parallel worlds!"

Tony and Future Tony immediately understood Wang Bert’s plan. Future Tony asked excitedly, "You want us to go to parallel worlds to find the Infinity Stones?"

"Yes. I’m this world’s guardian, so I can’t risk this world."

Wang Bert nodded and said, "Fortunately, parallel worlds should have Infinity Stones as well. I’ll do my best to help you fulfill your wish."

Doing this would not only help Future Tony and the others, it would also allow some experiments—for example, experiments on killing Thanos, experiments involving gathering the Six Infinity Stones, and experiments on devouring the Space Stone of other worlds.

"That could work."

Future Tony and the others were very happy. Although this would be much more troublesome, it was still better than going to war with Tony and the others—the strength of this world was far too great. If they really fought, they would not have the slightest chance of winning.
