Su Xiaoli’s Decisiveness! Rose’s Fury!
The room was a complete mess, with all kinds of clothes piled haphazardly on the sofa. Chu Yang even spotted a pair of cartoon-print panties.
"Ah!"
Su Xiaoli panicked and hurried over to block his view with her body. Blushing, she said, "President Chu… it’s a little messy… Why don’t we talk outside?"
Chu Yang waved a hand. "Just a few words. No need to make such a fuss."
A flicker of disappointment crossed Su Xiaoli’s eyes. She cleared some space on the sofa for Chu Yang to sit, while she stood to one side like a student meeting her teacher.
Chu Yang took a bank card from his pocket and placed it on the table. "I want to keep you. I need you to be available whenever I call and to follow all my arrangements, but I won’t interfere with your daily life."
"If you agree, this card is yours. Five million will be deposited into it every month."
"Of course, you can refuse. It’s entirely voluntary."
Chu Yang did not beat around the bush. He got straight to the point, and his words left Su Xiaoli utterly stunned.
When Chu Yang had sponsored her back then, he had never asked for anything in return. It had seemed as though he expected no repayment, yet when they met again years later, he had directly proposed keeping her!
After snapping back to her senses, Su Xiaoli did not hesitate either. She picked up the bank card and said, "Okay!"
Chu Yang was not surprised by the outcome, though Su Xiaoli’s decisiveness did catch him off guard.
But he knew Su Xiaoli was not a casual woman. At the very least, she had never dated anyone over the years, nor had she been involved with any man.
On second thought, Chu Yang understood that his casual act of casting a wide net years ago had paid off.
Su Xiaoli’s situation was unique. Her genes were saturated with an irresistible fragrance, enough to bring calamity upon all living beings.
Because of this, nearly every generation of her ancestors had been prostitutes or mistresses. Moreover, this gene was passed only to daughters and never to sons—or rather, they simply could not give birth to boys at all.
At the same time, Su Xiaoli was not truly a human under the system of gods and civilizations. Her thoughts and emotions differed greatly from those of ordinary people.
Her emotions could not resonate with those of humans. Because of that, there was nothing in this world that she truly cared about.
She did not love her family, her country, or Earth.
Yet Chu Yang’s appearance back then had changed Su Xiaoli…
Being helped by someone who expected nothing in return when she was at her most desperate had given her, for the first time, an emotion called gratitude.
It was like a key that opened the floodgates, or one that unlocked the genetic code sealing away her emotions.
Over the past few years, Su Xiaoli had experienced unprecedented happiness. She would get angry after arguing with people, and she would feel sad while watching tragic dramas…
So to her, Chu Yang was like a creator who had painted color into her black-and-white world.
"In that case, I’ll have someone arrange a place for you in the City of the North Star…"
As he spoke, Chu Yang took out a phone and handed it to her. "My number is in this phone. If anything comes up, you can contact me directly. I’ll also use this phone to reach you."
"Unless I need you, I won’t interfere with your daily life."
Hearing that, Su Xiaoli’s face turned red again.
Because to her, the phrase "unless I need you" could only mean physical needs.
Just as her imagination began to run wild, Chu Yang added, "If you have any requests, you can bring them up as well."
Su Xiaoli repeatedly waved her hands. "President Chu, you’ve already given me more than enough!"
"Strictly speaking, this isn’t a transaction between us. It’s a matter of cause and effect."
Chu Yang smiled. "Because you became my lover, the five million every month is your living allowance."
"You don’t need to be so formal. Just call me by my name."
Just as Chu Yang was about to leave, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
"It should be the delivery this time!" Su Xiaoli hurried over and opened it.
With Chu Yang there, she was not afraid that anyone might have ill intentions toward her.
But when the door opened, Su Xiaoli froze.
The people standing outside were not delivery workers, but a beautiful young woman in jeans and a red jacket, with fiery red hair, along with a man in a suit and sunglasses.
"Who are you?" Su Xiaoli asked suspiciously.
Rose wore her usual icy expression. The man in sunglasses took out an ID and flashed it. "We’re from a special department. There are some things we’d like to discuss with you."
Su Xiaoli did not invite them inside. Instead, she asked directly, "A special department? I haven’t broken the law, have I?"
The man in sunglasses smiled. "You misunderstand. We want you to join us."
"You want to recruit me?" Su Xiaoli was stunned again.
The man’s mouth twitched slightly. Somewhat speechless, he said, "You can put it that way."
"Why me? And why should I join?" Su Xiaoli looked doubtful.
The man in sunglasses cleared his throat. "You possess some special potential. As long as you’re willing to join us, we…"
Before he could finish, Rose cut in, "Join us, and we can fill your whole body with magic power. We can even find you a mighty, real man!"
The man in sunglasses covered his face in exasperation. He truly could not compliment Rose’s recruiting methods.
Su Xiaoli blinked and said, "Your offer is tempting, but just now, I already found that mighty, real man!"
"Sorry, I won’t be joining you."
With that, she shut the door right in their faces.
Rose was somewhat dumbfounded. The department had monitored Su Xiaoli for years—or, to be more precise, they monitored everyone with super genes.
That was why she knew Su Xiaoli’s experiences and personality extremely well, and believed she had offered terms the other woman could not refuse.
Yet she had never expected to be rejected!
Rose turned to look at the man in sunglasses and frowned. "Who was she talking about?"
The man shook his head blankly. "I don’t know. There shouldn’t be anyone like that!"
At that moment, the door opened again. Just as the two thought Su Xiaoli had changed her mind, they saw a familiar figure walk out.
"Oh, what a coincidence." Chu Yang greeted them casually, then headed toward the elevator without another thought.
"It’s you!"
Rose immediately understood what was going on. She strode forward and reached out toward Chu Yang’s back, intending to pin him against the wall as she demanded,
"You bastard! What exactly are you trying to do?"
But Chu Yang seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. He sidestepped Rose’s palm, grabbed her forearm in return, and used a textbook restraint hold to pin her against the wall instead.
Rose’s eyes shifted, and her figure instantly vanished. When she reappeared, she had flashed behind Chu Yang.
Chu Yang raised his eyebrows in feigned surprise, but his movements were not the least bit slow. He lifted his leg and threw a side kick.
Rose had not expected him to react so quickly. She only had time to raise an arm to block, but Chu Yang still kicked her flying, smashing her heavily into the corridor wall.
The man in sunglasses and Su Xiaoli, who stood in the doorway, saw everything.
Even his sunglasses could not conceal the man’s shock. He simply could not imagine that someone could suppress a super soldier like Rose through combat skills alone!
Su Xiaoli, meanwhile, had stars in her eyes. She only felt that Chu Yang was unbelievably cool!
She knew very well the fate of her bloodline. Her beauty and the temptation contained in her genes were things no man could resist.
But that was precisely their tragedy. Few of them ever met a good end.
Compared to becoming someone else’s caged canary sooner or later, Chu Yang was undoubtedly the better choice—young and handsome, wealthy and powerful, someone who had helped her, and even "strong and vigorous."
With a ding, the elevator doors opened. Chu Yang ignored Rose and stepped directly inside.
Rose got to her feet, gritted her teeth, and cursed, "Bastard!"
She turned to the man in sunglasses and shouted angrily, "Stop him!"
The man nodded and pressed the Bluetooth earpiece in his ear. In a low voice, he said, "Everyone, move out. Stop Chu Yang!"
He had stopped Rose from acting earlier because he did not want her displaying her abilities in front of ordinary people.
But Chu Yang had now interfered with their attempts to recruit super soldiers again and again. This had already seriously affected the higher-ups’ plans.
Furthermore, even Rose had suffered at his hands just now, proving that this man was no ordinary person.
No matter the reason, they needed to bring Chu Yang back and get answers.
Rose, meanwhile, instantly appeared before Su Xiaoli and said softly, "Did you see that? If you join us, you’ll gain power like mine!"
Su Xiaoli curled her lips and muttered, "Didn’t my man still knock you flat?"
With that, she slammed the door shut.
Rose nearly got hit by the door, and the anger in her heart intensified. She took the man in sunglasses down in another elevator.
But when they reached the ground floor, they found more than twenty figures sprawled outside the apartment building.
All of them wore suits. At that moment, some clutched their heads, others their arms or legs, groaning in agony.
"This…" The man in sunglasses widened his eyes.
Their department was highly unusual. Any ordinary person qualified to join them had to at least be the ace soldier of a military district!
Yet now, more than twenty ace soldiers seemed to have all been taken down by Chu Yang alone?
Could he be a super soldier too?
Rose seemed to have thought of the same possibility. Her expression turned grave as she took out her phone and dialed a number.
Once the call connected, she said directly, "Investigate Chu Yang of the New World Group. This person is suspected to possess super genes and has repeatedly obstructed the Super Soldier Company’s plans."
After she hung up, the man in sunglasses walked over and asked tentatively, "What do we do next? Should we keep trying to recruit Su Xiaoli?"
Rose glanced upstairs and shook her head. "No. Retrieve the surveillance footage here, then report back."
The man nodded and quickly left.
Tianhe City.
Chu Yang returned to his villa and called the people in the City of the North Star, telling them to make arrangements for Su Xiaoli.
In just half an hour, word came back that Su Xiaoli’s new residence had been arranged.
Chu Yang knew that after ruining Rose’s plans one after another, she definitely would not let the matter rest.
Just as he was considering whether he should take the chance to get a sample of Rose’s blood, the sound of an iris lock opening suddenly came from the door.
Then Qi Lin walked in wearing her police uniform. She looked valiant, though her expression was somewhat urgent.
When she saw Chu Yang, Qi Lin did not even change her shoes. She walked straight over, sat on the sofa, and said, "Chu Yang, people from the National Security Bureau came to see me today!"
"They should belong to some special department. They wanted me to join them!"
Chu Yang raised an eyebrow. This was within his expectations, though he had not expected it to happen so soon.
He smiled and asked, "What do you think?"
Qi Lin shrugged. "Of course I refused!"
"They were being so mysterious. If I joined them, I’m afraid it would be hard for me to see you."
"So you can’t bear to leave me?" Chu Yang grinned wickedly.
Qi Lin pinched him, then said seriously, "I suspect this special department is probably connected to super soldiers!"
Chu Yang nodded. "That’s right. I’ve dealt with them before. The government is gathering people with super genes to prepare for war against aliens."
"Are aliens really coming?" Qi Lin looked worried.
Chu Yang saw what was on her mind and smiled. "Actually, you can join them. While you’re at it, you can help me find a way to obtain some blood samples from super soldiers."
"You want me to be a spy?" Qi Lin’s eyes widened.
Chu Yang waved a hand. "Don’t put it so badly. You’re only getting some blood samples. It’s not like you’d be doing anything immoral, illegal, or even betraying Earth!"
"Besides, with those blood samples, I can find ways to make you stronger. That can also count as indirectly supporting your efforts to protect Earth."
Hearing that, Qi Lin blinked. It seemed to make some sense, but she still fell into hesitation.
They had only just confirmed their relationship, and now they would have to separate. Her heart was full of reluctance.
Chu Yang suddenly said, "Actually, you can negotiate some terms with them. Your genetic ability is important to them, so I’m sure they won’t refuse."
"Terms?" Qi Lin froze for a moment, then her beautiful eyes lit up.
That’s right!
She could negotiate with them!
Thinking of that, Qi Lin looked at Chu Yang as though seeking his final opinion.
Chu Yang smiled. "I know you want to join them. I support your decision."
Qi Lin was a deeply righteous person. She usually worked on the front lines of the police force, so naturally, in a matter involving all humanity and Earth’s crisis, she wanted to do her part.
"Contact them. But add one condition: they need to help awaken your super genes in advance!"
Chu Yang said seriously, "Come find me after they awaken. I’ll give you a gift."
Seeing her boyfriend support her career so wholeheartedly, Qi Lin’s eyes shimmered, and her heart swelled with emotion. She suddenly stood up, leaned over, and kissed Chu Yang on the face before running out in a fluster.
Chu Yang curled his lips and muttered, "So reserved? I wonder, after she’s tempered on the battlefield, will she pounce on me by force the next time we meet?"
At that thought, he shook his head with a laugh. Looking through the window at the sky, he narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Demon Civilization… Demon Gene…"
The next moment, Chu Yang vanished from the room. A streak of light suddenly flashed across the sky, soaring into the wind!
