Su Yu’s Lesson: Training Sword Qi

"I wasn’t planning to teach that. I was planning to teach swordsmanship," Su Yu said.

Mao Jiu asked in confusion, "Swordsmanship?"

Su Yu nodded. "I just don’t know how many people will be willing to learn it."

Everyone in the Super God Academy was into science. If Su Yu suddenly brought out a swordsmanship technique to teach, many of them definitely would not sincerely accept it.

"It’s fine, Brother Su Yu. I’ll learn it, and I believe they will too. After all, they’ve all seen what you’re capable of," Mao Jiu said with a smile.

Su Yu smiled. "That would be for the best. It doesn’t matter if no one learns it. I can just be a more leisurely vice dean."

"I’ll definitely learn it." Mao Jiu’s gaze was firm. Just based on the methods Su Yu had used to wipe out Hua Ye and the others—methods that had nothing to do with science—Mao Jiu was willing to believe that swordsmanship was powerful.

Su Yu smiled faintly. "Alright. Since you want to learn, I won’t hold anything back. I’ll teach you everything I know."

Mao Jiu smiled and nodded.

After sitting there for a while longer, Mao Jiu left.

The next day.

Su Yu arrived at his vice dean’s office, right beside Kieran’s office. He had just sat down when Kieran came in.

Kieran looked at Su Yu and said, "Su Yu, there are currently fifty-four students at the academy. I’m planning to divide them into two classes. What do you think?"

Su Yu thought for a moment. "Better not. One class is enough. Just set up an elective course. I’m planning to teach them swordsmanship, so my swordsmanship can be an elective."

Kieran froze for a moment. "You only plan to teach swordsmanship?"

"What else? I don’t understand all that science stuff," Su Yu said, waving his hand.

Kieran was instantly dumbfounded. He had thought that someone as powerful as Su Yu, even if she had not researched scientific technology as deeply as he had, would surely understand science well. He had not expected Su Yu to know nothing about it…

Rubbing her forehead, Kieran asked, "Su Yu, can you tell me how you gained your strength without understanding science?"

Su Yu smiled bitterly. "Honestly, you might not believe it. I got it for free."

Kieran said, "…Comparing people really is enough to make someone furious. So does that mean the academy still basically only has me as a teacher?"

Su Yu said with a smile, "Dean Kieran, the capable should work harder. Once you’ve trained these fifty-four students, you can keep a few of them on as teachers."

"It won’t be that easy. Fifty of the angels who came are Second Generation Angels, and two of them are Keisha’s right-hand women. How could Keisha possibly let them stay at the Super God Academy as teachers?" Kieran said with a bitter smile.

Su Yu patted Kieran on the shoulder. "Don’t worry. I’ll have Keisha leave a few angels behind. I believe she’ll agree."

Kieran immediately smiled. "She definitely will. After all, you helped them wipe out all the male angels."

"Then let’s go. It’s time to head to the classroom," Kieran said, leading Su Yu toward the Teaching Building.

Kieran and Su Yu arrived in a classroom that could hold a hundred people. With fifty-four people seated below, it did not look crowded at all.

Su Yu swept his gaze over the room. There was only one male student, a man in a black fitted outfit. Without even thinking, Su Yu knew he had to be Carl. Carl and Mao Jiu sat in the front row before the podium, while all the angels sat from the third row onward.

After a glance, Su Yu noticed Liang Bing sitting in the corner. Liang Bing stared at Su Yu with flames practically bursting from her eyes, as if she wanted to swallow him whole. It was an incredibly painful thing for a powerhouse to suddenly lose her strength. When Liang Bing discovered yesterday that she could not even fly anymore, she had nearly died of rage.

Su Yu smiled and ignored Liang Bing’s hostile glare.

Kieran cleared her throat and began a long-winded speech. Standing to the side, Su Yu was completely stunned. Why did this scene feel so familiar? It seemed that no matter what world it was, as long as someone was a school leader, they would always be full of endless nonsense.

Kieran spent over half an hour talking about the greatness of the God River Civilization before finally getting to the point. She began explaining what the academy would teach, then handed them a class schedule. It was actually quite similar to a university schedule on Earth.

There were far fewer electives, though. The only elective was Su Yu’s swordsmanship class. The angels had basically all come for Su Yu in the first place, so naturally, they all chose the elective. Liang Bing also chose it because she wanted to cause trouble for Su Yu.

Of the fifty-four people in the class, only Carl did not choose Su Yu’s swordsmanship class. Carl was only interested in science and knowledge and had not the slightest interest in swordsmanship meant for fighting.

The angels had all chosen to learn swordsmanship because Keisha had instructed them to learn properly from Su Yu and bring something back with them. Whatever Su Yu taught, they were to learn it.

Kieran did not force Carl to attend, since she herself was not particularly interested in Su Yu’s swordsmanship.

The academy gradually got on track. Su Yu’s teaching was very relaxed, with only one class a day. Soon, it was time for the swordsmanship lesson, and Mao Jiu and the others all arrived at the training grounds.

Su Yu had prepared fifty-three Wooden Dummies in advance, with a Wooden Sword placed beside each one. Everyone looked confused at the sight. Su Yu said, "Let me make this clear first. If you can’t persist, you can leave at any time. I won’t force you."

"Angels never give up easily!" He Xi declared.

The Second Generation Angels immediately shouted in unison, "Angels never give up easily!"

Su Yu smiled. "I hope you can still say that after some time. Alright, let’s begin. What you need to do is very simple. Pick up the Wooden Swords and chop these Wooden Dummies. Every strike must use your full strength, until you chop through the Wooden Dummies!"

Everyone approached the Wooden Dummies in confusion. He Xi picked up a Wooden Sword and asked, "How hard could this be?"

As she spoke, He Xi tried to infuse Dark Energy into the Wooden Sword, only to discover that it could not be infused with Dark Energy at all. The others discovered the same thing. That meant they had to rely purely on physical strength to chop through the Wooden Dummy before them, one as thick as a person, using only a Wooden Sword!

Liang Bing immediately became furious. "Su Yu! Are you screwing with us? How is that even possible? How can a Wooden Sword cut through a Wooden Dummy that thick?"

Su Yu smiled and waved his hand. "It can’t?"

As he spoke, Su Yu snatched the Wooden Sword from Liang Bing’s hand and lightly swung it forward. In an instant, all fifty-three Wooden Dummies were severed at the exact same height. Then, the Wooden Dummies all reappeared and returned to their original state.

Su Yu had discovered that chopping Wooden Dummies with a Wooden Sword was the easiest way to comprehend sword qi. It only required the swordsman’s persistence. If one could not even persist through this, then one was destined to have no chance of reaching the pinnacle of the sword path.

Everyone fell silent as they watched Su Yu’s display. Mao Jiu was the first to pick up a Wooden Sword and begin chopping at a Wooden Dummy. The angels, unwilling to fall behind, all began chopping as well.
