Sudden Development

Chen Mu had fully handled the military’s requirements, and now it was time to move into the civilian market.

The first product launched by Xiao Mu Technology, which Chen Mu had founded, was the Xiao Mu Phone. Although it had not officially gone on sale yet, because it had been launched in collaboration with Tony Stark, Tony had already hyped it up internationally to unprecedented heights. Even before its release, one could imagine how wildly popular it would become.

After all, Tony was currently the only "Super Hero" in the world who had publicly revealed his identity!

Although Tony did not seem to have accomplished any heroic deeds yet, his identity alone was enough to make any event connected to him explode in popularity.

As the Xiao Mu Phone had been used by Tony all this time, it had naturally drawn the attention of the general public.

If it had already gone on sale, it would definitely have sold out instantly!

"There are no issues with the phones. It’s time for Xiao Mu Technology to launch its second product."

Looking at the "Iron Man" suit before him, Chen Mu smiled.

That was right. This product directly copied Tony Stark’s Iron Armor. Chen Mu intended to ride Tony’s popularity once again.

Who told Tony to be so high-profile?

In the Marvel World, who didn’t know his name?

If he did not ride Tony’s popularity, whose would he ride?

Besides, Chen Mu had not forgotten that while Obadiah was still around, he had obtained authorization from him for the appearances of all Stark Industries products!

That naturally included Tony Stark’s Iron Armor, so there was absolutely no issue with directly copying its appearance for this product!

This product was a prosthetic limb. It had the same appearance as Tony Stark’s Iron Armor and could help people with impaired hands or feet walk normally and use objects.

In Iron Man 2, when the American Congress questioned Tony Stark over whether his Iron Armor was a weapon, Tony claimed that it was a high-tech prosthetic limb. Chen Mu was now helping Tony turn that idea into reality!

"The prosthetic limbs will primarily use plastic and common high-capacity batteries. They can assist a disabled person in moving like a normal person for five hours. Prices can vary according to the materials used."

From hardened plastic to carbon fiber, then aluminum alloy, and finally sturdy metals…

These so-called "prosthetic limbs" could actually be considered exoskeleton armor. They were even more advanced than the military exoskeleton armor currently used by some countries!

This was also part of Chen Mu’s plan. He would first distribute these low-end "exoskeleton armors" among civilians, allowing ordinary people to become familiar with using them. When the time came to truly use these exoskeleton armors, they would only need to switch the energy source, replace components, or even install external weapons. Every civilian could become a warrior!

Of course, this was not without risks. If someone intended to use this "exoskeleton armor" to commit evil, that could not be avoided. No matter where one went, there would always be bad people, even in China.

But Chen Mu still had the Hongmeng System. Hongmeng’s processing power surpassed Jarvis’s. Combined with powerful supercomputers, Hongmeng could completely monitor every set of "exoskeleton armor." Even if all 1.4 billion people in the country wore armor in the future, Hongmeng could easily monitor them all. The moment anyone tried to use the armor for evil, Hongmeng could lock down the armor and forcibly shut it down, leaving the criminal nowhere to run.

Even now, Chen Mu had installed the Hongmeng System in every Kirin Armor produced.

For one thing, without the assistance of the Hongmeng System, a single person simply could not operate armor weighing half a ton. For another, the armor’s various high-tech weapons required an intelligent program for control. Even auxiliary functions such as aiming were inseparable from the Hongmeng System.

In this world, the only AI programs capable of controlling armor were Chen Mu’s Hongmeng and Tony Stark’s Jarvis.

If he did not use Hongmeng, was he supposed to use Jarvis instead?

"Give this to Zheng Xian. It contains what he needs."

After opening his workshop, Chen Mu handed a USB drive to Xu Jia and continued, "Most domestic arms factories can produce the Kirin 1 SE Armor made from high-strength steel. However, the Arc Reactors can currently only be produced at our Huaqiangbei Industrial Park. Once the God Spear Bureau establishes its own production base, we can hand that over to them."

Chen Mu could rest assured about the God Spear Bureau established by Director Zhang. Its members had all undergone layer upon layer of screening, and they held deep feelings for China and their own nation. He could trust them with this.

"Wonderful! With this, it will no longer be a pipe dream for the entire military to equip the Kirin Armor!"

At six hundred thousand per set, even with the weapon system included, it probably would not exceed seven hundred thousand. A Type 99 Main Battle Tank cost at least twelve million, meaning the price of one Type 99 could buy roughly twenty sets of armor. Why not?

"Oh, right, Chen Mu. General Zhang just said he needed to speak with you. You should hold a video conference with him shortly."

"Alright."

Although somewhat puzzled, Chen Mu nodded and returned to his office, where he opened the video conference.

"Chen Mu, an unexpected situation has arisen. The United Nations is putting pressure on our country, demanding that we abandon our plans to equip the Kirin Armor. Even the Russians, who had always stood with us against our common enemy, have completely taken the West’s side this time."

Director Zhang’s expression was grim. He did not beat around the bush and directly explained the current situation.

"China has always stood independent of the Western world. The West’s desire to destroy us has never disappeared." Chen Mu fell silent, then continued, "So what does the country plan to do?"

"For now, our plan is to equip the God Spear Bureau first. As for the military, it will not be too late to equip them after the God Spear Bureau opens up the situation."

Director Zhang said calmly, "Equipping the military is not really the issue. The Western nations are threatening us with all kinds of sanctions, demanding that we hand over the armor technology."

This was simply ridiculous! The American military had not even equipped any high-tech weapons, yet the United Nations had jumped out to demand that China not equip its own and hand over the technology?

It was utterly shameless.

This also showed that the United Nations had truly become America’s backyard.

"The Homeland Defense Bureau must have had a hand in stirring all this up. Nick Fury contacted me privately and said that if we could give them one set of Kirin Armor to study, they would help us resolve this issue."

Clearly, Nick Fury understood very well that it was impossible to make China hand over its technology.

So he had settled for the next best thing and merely wanted one set of Kirin Armor for research.

The previous demands had been set so high only to leave room for bargaining.
