Suppression

"I was only taking precautions, but I never expected even that wouldn’t be enough!"

Gu Sheng noticed that Alexander’s expression had always remained utterly calm, without the slightest change. This showed that even when attacked by several people working together, he still remained unafraid.

Or rather, a lineup capable of killing a Fourth Star Mid-Rank expert—equivalent to a Xiantian Solid Core expert—was not something he took seriously. It seemed that his strength exceeded Gu Sheng’s imagination even further.

"Looks like if I want to deal with you, I’ll have to take them down first!"

Alexander’s gaze sharpened. With a bend and a burst of force, he struck out. Before Lucian could react, a fist slammed into his chest and sent him flying into the snow like a cannonball.

"Boom! Boom!"

Alexander’s movements did not stop. Two afterimages flashed, and Victor and Amelia, who could only fly at low altitudes, were smashed straight down, leaving them in an extremely sorry state.

"Roar! Roar!"

Marcus and Mark exchanged a glance before charging at the source of their bloodline together.

"Hmph!"

Alexander reached out and caught Marcus’s attacking claws. While constantly retreating to evade Mark’s attacks from the other side, he pushed Marcus across the snow.

Among this group of attackers, the only ones who could truly threaten him were these two Fourth Star Level Hybrids, evolved from direct bloodline inheritors. They also possessed undying blood, giving them immense potential and combat strength.

"Completely suppressed!"

Gu Sheng watched the battle before him. Marcus and Mark were utterly suppressed by Alexander. Ordinary movements had extraordinary power in Alexander’s hands, and he could unleash terrifying strength with the slightest wave of his hand.

Martial arts were ultimately only ordinary fighting techniques. Alexander could turn decay into magic because of his overwhelming strength. Yet the techniques he used to exert that power were simple and direct, without any flashy movements.

Absolute strength, absolute speed, and perfectly timed little tricks—that was the reason for Alexander’s power. The years had given him tremendous accumulation, allowing his strength to constantly increase. He was also willing to learn, and knew how to learn, which made his development of power far surpass that of his descendants.

Gu Sheng closed his eyes. Within his perception, certain aspects of Alexander’s condition appeared with perfect clarity, displayed like a diagram.

"Within an instant, the density of his muscles increases. He exerts force at the cellular level. I never thought his control over his body had reached this level."

Gu Sheng finally understood why the original Perfect Blood had not involved any transformation.

Humans were not creatures known for their physical prowess. Compared with the transformations, strength structures, and physical gifts of vampires and Werewolves, they fell far short.

Yet Perfect Blood had granted—or rather, Alexander had developed—such a powerful ability. He could control his cells and alter them, allowing him to unleash his strength with pinpoint accuracy in an instant.

This kind of minor physical adjustment did not place much strain on the body. Nor would it cause excessive bodily mutation and produce bestial genes, creating the risk of succumbing to a monster’s instincts.

A typical example of excessive bodily mutation was the Werewolf. After transforming, their consciousness would usually become more or less savage and cruel. In more serious cases, such as William’s, the transformation would turn the tables and take control, making him a genuine beast.

"Marcus, Mark, Lucian, stand down!"

After observing for a while longer, Gu Sheng stepped forward and motioned for the three men, who were still making futile efforts, to retreat. He had already seen that the three of them could not pose the slightest threat to Alexander.

"You’re planning to fight me personally."

Alexander calmly straightened his trench coat. At this time, he still possessed human emotions; he was not yet the hollow old man he would become a thousand years later.

An Alexander like this was both difficult and easy to deal with. He was difficult because his strength was extremely formidable, making him the ceiling of this world’s combat power. He was easy because he was easier to deal with now than he would be a thousand years later.

Based on Gu Sheng’s understanding of the Lord God’s ways, if Reincarnators wanted to obtain Perfect Blood, it was impossible for them to simply pick it up and receive it as Selene had in the original timeline. No matter what, they would have to fight Alexander.

That was also why Gu Sheng had caused trouble from the moment he arrived. He had originally planned to increase Marcus and the others’ strength and have them stand at the front.

In the original future, Marcus alone had heavily wounded the unresisting Alexander. But he had never expected his calculations to be wrong.

At this time, Alexander still possessed a great deal of "humanity." After learning of the changes Gu Sheng had caused, he planned to take everyone present away and lock them up so that things could return to their proper course. He had even made the rare decision to act personally.

It was only after Alexander personally took action that Gu Sheng witnessed the power of this first immortal. The passage of time had continuously increased his strength, making him powerful enough to kill Hybrids instantly.

"That’s right!"

Gu Sheng pulled off his cloak, revealing his powerful physique. After this period of recuperation, he had fully converted his own strength.

Although all his energy-based skills had been sealed and he could no longer release his Inner Force and true energy externally, his physical body itself was the strongest weapon.

"You’re strong!"

Alexander’s expression turned solemn. From Gu Sheng, he sensed a kind of overwhelming strength—an overwhelming confidence, and a power strong enough to threaten him.

"Marcus, hold off the riffraff. Don’t let them disturb my battle!"

Gu Sheng’s order did not draw any objection from Marcus. Back at Vampire Castle, they had secretly fought one another. It was after that confrontation that Marcus acknowledged Gu Sheng and placed him above himself.

"Boom!"

Gu Sheng stomped hard against the snow. A deep footprint remained behind as his figure arrived before Alexander with a sonic boom, one fist rapidly enlarging in Alexander’s field of vision.

"So fast!"

Alexander’s heart jolted. An emotion spread through his chest. How many years had it been since he had felt this kind of nervousness after becoming immortal? The last time had probably been when William unleashed the Werewolf plague!

"Bang!"

Their fists collided. Alexander suddenly discovered that he—actually, he was unable to suppress Gu Sheng in strength. Before he could think any further, Gu Sheng’s whip kick had already lashed toward him from an unbelievable angle.

"Boom!"

Alexander staggered two steps from Gu Sheng’s kick. Before he could steady himself, a series of flying kicks descended one after another from midair.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Every one of Gu Sheng’s kicks was a perfectly timed martial technique, and every strike laid the groundwork for the next move. Alexander, who had just been slaughtering his way through the battlefield, was now comprehensively suppressed and could not bring his strength into play at all.

Ultimately, this was also due to Gu Sheng’s luck. Alexander had only been immortal for a few hundred years at this point, having wasted more than a century living out the lives of his wife and third son’s family.

Only then had he begun his journey of learning. His strength had only just started to improve by leaps and bounds. But in the end, he had still experienced too little time. He had merely pieced together the framework of a system and had yet to perfect it.
