Swallowing Black Heart Demon (Seventh Update, Extra Chapter for 2,600 Monthly Tickets, Please Subscribe Fully!!)

Gemini’s star map directly mirrored the sky above. With a boom, the nearly solidified Gemini star map suddenly crashed down.

Whoosh!

In an instant.

The world between heaven and earth suddenly fell silent.

"How did they get back?"

"Where are they?"

After losing the satellite, the camera that had just been launched aboard a Quinjet and had just arrived one kilometer above Long Island shone into the island, only to capture nothing but emptiness.

The people in the Three Feathers Operations Center of S.H.I.E.L.D. looked at one another.

Inside Long Island’s wind farm, Dragonfly Captain’s arena was still there, but Lake and Black Heart Demon had vanished without a trace. Yet from somewhere in the wind farm, Hell origin was still being rapidly drawn away in an endless stream.

Gemini Maze!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Black Heart Demon re-formed. Looking at the stars that kept moving and occasionally brushed past him, he blinked. When he realized that he seemed to be inside some nebula in the universe, he was dumbfounded.

Boom!

Wearing the Gemini Gold Cloth, Lake descended from the sky with his hands behind his back. Looking down at Black Heart Demon, whom he had dragged inside, he said, "Welcome to my universe."

Black Heart Demon looked up. "If you oppose Hell, Hell won’t let you go."

Lake laughed.

The next second.

Lake closed his eyes, and his figure gradually faded from where he stood. Rumble, rumble—the Gemini Nebula Maze began to slowly turn. Boom, boom, it sounded as if some machine had been switched on.

Ah!

Black Heart Demon let out a scream and immediately sensed that something was wrong. "You want to eat me?"

His power.

His origin.

They were being devoured by some existence at a speed visible to the naked eye. In the blink of an eye, more than a third of Black Heart Demon’s origin had already been plundered by Lake.

Black Heart Demon roared as his dark tentacles continuously struck the stars that passed by him one after another. He seemed to be trying to force Lake to appear, or perhaps trying to get a response from him.

But…

Lake was not a villain. He did not have the problems that only villains had. As he had said, whatever it was could wait until Black Heart Demon was dead.

Being counter-killed would never happen to Lake.

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

Black Heart Demon’s visible origin was being drawn from his body and instantly devoured by the Gemini Nebula. He crouched on the ground, screaming miserably, glaring at the Gemini Nebula, which showed no intention of stopping. "Father, save me!"

This person did not merely want to kill him. He wanted to devour him and seize the Hell origin within him.

Lake, who was fully activating the Force Seed and could devour anything without restraint in his universe, raised his eyebrows when he heard Black Heart Demon’s words.

Roar!

A dense black aura instantly appeared above Long Island and slammed into the Gemini Nebula projected by Lake. With a whoosh, a wisp of black aura appeared within the Gemini Nebula.

It was not his true body.

It was a projection.

Black Heart Demon stared at the great demon projected before him. "Father, save me."

Lake’s mind stirred.

"Ah!"

"Father—"

Black Heart Demon let out his final scream as the stars surrounded him. The stars spun like a world-destroying millstone and completely swallowed Black Heart Demon.

Without a doubt.

Black Heart Demon had died cleanly and decisively.

But…

It was not over yet.

After devouring Black Heart Demon’s flesh and blood, the world-destroying millstone appeared directly beside Hell Monarch Mephisto. It repeated the same process, attempting to devour Mephisto as well.

Even if it was only a projection, it was still the projection of the lord of the Hell Dimension. This was no longer a matter of even a tiny mosquito being meat. At the very least, it was the fabled meat of Tang Monk.

Mephisto could also sense that it was about to attack him. He took a deep breath and stared expressionlessly at the full view of the Gemini Nebula before him. "I’ll remember you, Saga of Gemini."

With that said.

Boom!

Mephisto exploded without hesitation, directly severing the connection between Hell and this place.

With a boom.

After Mephisto exploded and left, Lake also appeared. A trace of golden blood leaked from the corner of his mouth, while the Gemini Gold Cloth rapidly detached from his body. The Gemini Nebula also gradually shifted from solid to illusory.

One minute on Earth.

Boom!

Once three minutes had passed, Lake flashed out of the Gemini Nebula and appeared above New York City’s Long Island once more. He then looked up at the sky, stored away his Gemini Cloth card, and turned to look toward the other side of the cordon.

Whoosh!

His body gradually transformed into golden light. It was as if the sacred light had completed its mission before dissipating between heaven and earth.

"Ugh!"

Lake instantly switched places with his clone. A muffled grunt came from his throat as the effect of his undying body immediately intensified, repairing the injuries caused by Mephisto’s explosion.

Three seconds later.

Lake put on a relaxed smile and shrugged at Tony Stark, who had removed his mask beside him. "See? I told you. Professional matters require professionals. Case closed."

Tony frowned. "It’s over?"

Lake followed Tony’s gaze toward the wind farm, which had been reduced to ruins after Mephisto had tried to emerge from the Hell Dimension, and smiled. "Obviously, yes."

Tony found it somewhat surreal. After all, although the scene of Hell Monarch Mephisto surging forth just now had been firmly contained within the wind farm, it had left Tony with an indelible impression of the apocalypse arriving.

"Just now…"

"Who knows? It was probably one of those situations where beating the small one brings out the big one. But obviously, even after the big one came out, he still couldn’t save the small one."

"…"

Lake spoke casually to Tony beside him, then called to Jack, who was nearby, and prepared to wrap things up and leave.

The battle was over. What else was there to do if they did not pack up?

As for the two hundred or so Black men who had become dried corpses before the cordon?

Heh.

Their cause of death was obvious, and in a sense, they had gotten what they wanted. After all, these people had been devout toward Hell. Hell had taken them away just as they wished.

They had died where they belonged.

After seeing Jack finish packing up, Lake turned his gaze aside and once again focused on Tony Stark, who was staring at the neat rows of dried corpses before him. He laughed. "What? Overflowing with sympathy?"

Tony came back to himself. "You don’t have any?"

Lake walked directly toward his Porsche Cayenne and waved without looking back. "Everyone hopes they can go to Heaven, but not a single person has the courage to die. They wanted to go to Hell, and Hell satisfied them. Why should I sympathize? In fact, I envy them a little. After all, Hell answered their wishes, didn’t it?"

With that said.

Before getting into the car, Lake glanced at Tony, then slammed the door shut and drove away from Long Island.

Woo-woo, woo-woo!

After the Department of Homeland Security had withdrawn, it was naturally time for the NYPD to enter.

Tony came back to himself, lowered his faceplate, and took one last look at the dried corpses that had obtained what they wanted. With a boom, he shot straight into the sky, made a circle in midair, and instantly left the area.

On the way from Long Island back to Manhattan, Lake could see that nearly every road leading to Long Island was completely jammed.

Obviously.

The more than two hundred Black men who had gotten what they wanted by dying were merely the first batch of idiots to arrive. Judging by the situation, there were at least six figures of such idiots still in New York City.

If he had known, he would have had Black Heart Demon simply make a round through New York City.

Lake sighed inwardly. As he pressed the horn to urge the car ahead to move faster, he thought this to himself.

At the very least, letting Black Heart Demon harvest six figures here would not have turned New York City into an empty city, while it could have brought unprecedented improvement to New York City’s terrible traffic conditions.

What a pity.

The dead could not be brought back to life. Likewise, Black Heart Demon, who had been devoured by him, had no chance of reviving.

The Hell Dimension was shrinking.

After devouring Black Heart Demon’s origin, Lake could clearly feel that the Hell Dimension, which had nearly connected with Earth just moments ago and was only one step away from seamless integration, was now rapidly disconnecting from Earth.

This time, Hell’s plan to return to Earth had completely failed. Not only had it failed, but Hell Monarch Mephisto had also left one of his sons, Black Heart Demon, on Earth forever.

And that was not all.

After devouring Black Heart Demon, Lake also learned about the Hell Dimension’s current circumstances.

Obviously.

The Hell Dimension was no different from the other dimensions. If there was a difference, it was that Earth needed a Hell—or rather, Earth’s people needed a Hell. Thus, with the Supreme Temple turning a blind eye, the Hell Dimension had been able to draw closer to Earth.

But…

The Hell Dimension had once been far too reckless on Earth. Simply put, before the age of King Arthur, it had treated Earth entirely as a pasture belonging to Hell.

Then King Arthur refused to accept it. After joining forces with Merlin the Mage, he slaughtered all the demons on Earth. On the sacred mountain, he also killed Blood Queen, whose status in Hell was by no means inferior. He even dismembered Blood Queen and had the Knights of the Round Table run to the ends of the earth to bury the pieces separately.

After that…

Merlin the Mage made an agreement with Hell. Hell would leave Earth while exempting mages from death. In exchange, King Arthur would not invade the Hell Dimension, nor would he completely destroy Blood Queen.

And so, the Hell Dimension was driven off Earth by humanity. Although there were still a few rifts connecting the Hell Dimension to Earth, Hell’s demons had long since lost their former glory.

As for what glory?

Who knew?

That was how the memories Lake received described it. Perhaps the one-eyed demons could no longer eat people casually, or perhaps the various little demons could no longer torment others as they pleased.

Who knew?

Even so.

At the moment the Hell Dimension separated from Earth, although human lifespans still had an end and the dead would still return to Hell, their souls could no longer be taken away by any particular demon.

Simply put, when the Hell Dimension had been connected to Earth, human souls after death had gone directly to Mephisto, who then decided whether to pool them together or bestow them as rewards.

But now?

After humans died, their souls were pooled together directly. Even Mephisto had no authority to use them anymore. After all, who could blame him when the Hell Dimension’s authority had diminished during his tenure?
