Sword Control Technique, Cutting Corners
Qing Wei and Xu Changqing brought Su Yu to the hall where the Poisoned People were being held. Su Yu did not waste any words; he picked up the Taigu Yiyin Qin and began playing Qian Jin Qing.
When the piece ended, every one of them opened their mouths and expelled a cloud of black gas. Qing Wei immediately placed his hand on one person’s wrist. A moment later, he looked at Su Yu and said, "My young friend’s zither skills truly are marvelous. My junior brother was rather offensive in the main hall earlier. I hope you can forgive him."
Qing Wei had given him such respect that it would not have been appropriate for Su Yu to keep pressing the matter. Su Yu smiled and said, "Sect Leader Qing Wei, you flatter me. This is also because my zither skills have appeared in this world for the first time. It is only natural for people to have doubts."
"Haha, yes, yes. When you have time in the future, my young friend, do come visit Shu Mountain more often. I am extremely curious about your zither skills," Qing Wei said with a smile.
Su Yu smiled and cupped his fists. "That would be wonderful. Then I shall have to trouble Sect Leader Qing Wei with my visits in the future."
"No trouble, no trouble. My young friend, you know about the recent incident in Yu Zhou City, don’t you?" Qing Wei asked.
Qing Wei knew that Su Yu’s strength might even surpass his own, so Su Yu surely knew divination as well. That was why he asked.
Su Yu knew the entire plot of Immortal Sword Three by heart. Why would he need to divine anything? He said, "I know."
"Changqing is going down the mountain to investigate the matter. Could I ask you to help him when the time comes?" Qing Wei asked.
Su Yu nodded. "No problem. I will not let anything happen to him. Sect Leader Qing Wei, we should investigate the Poisoned People incident as soon as possible. Daoist Xu and I will head to Yu Zhou City first."
Qing Wei nodded slightly. "My young friend, you may simply call Changqing by his name in the future. There is no need to call him Daoist Xu."
Su Yu smiled. "That would be wonderful."
Xu Changqing stood at the side, unable to say anything. Did no one need his consent for what they called him…? Apparently not. His master had spoken, so Xu Changqing could only accept it.
Su Yu smiled at Xu Changqing. "Changqing, let’s go."
Xu Changqing: "…"
With that, Su Yu and Xu Changqing left Shu Mountain. Xu Changqing wore an expression all the way that said he did not want to speak to Su Yu. Would anyone feel comfortable if someone about their age spoke to them in their master’s tone…?
By the time the two arrived in Yu Zhou City, it was nearly morning. There was nowhere to stay at the Meng Family, so Su Yu and Xu Changqing went to the Tang Mansion.
Tang Mansion
After hearing from the servants that Su Yu and a Shu Mountain Disciple had arrived, Tang Xuejian immediately ran out. Looking at Su Yu, she asked, "Little Uncle, why are you back so soon?"
"The matter was resolved, so I came back," Su Yu said, waving his hand.
"But that was far too fast." Tang Xuejian did not even know what to say.
Su Yu looked at Tang Xuejian. "By the way, where is Little Qi?"
Upon hearing Little Qi mentioned, Tang Xuejian said helplessly, "That idiot Jing Tian found out Little Qi was your disciple and insisted on dragging him to stay at Yong’an Pawnshop. He even said he wanted to bond with Little Qi. Bond, my ass. He is just afraid a few more Poisoned People will suddenly appear."
Su Yu smiled. "How about this? Have Little Ha keep Little Tian company. Little Ha is about as strong as Little Qi."
Over the past year, Su Yu had also helped Wolf Lord a little, and Wolf Lord’s strength had risen rapidly.
Tang Xuejian asked curiously, "Little Uncle, just how strong are Little Qi and Little Ha?"
Su Yu thought for a moment. "By your standards of understanding, very strong!"
Tang Xuejian: "…Little Uncle, are you indirectly saying I’m ignorant???"
Su Yu smiled. "No, no, absolutely not."
"Hmph! Then how does Little Qi compare to Daoist Xu?" Tang Xuejian asked.
Su Yu stroked his chin. "We would only know who is stronger after they fought. Little Qi and Changqing have about the same amount of True Qi, but Changqing should have more actual combat experience."
Xu Changqing asked curiously, "About as strong as me? Brother Su, who is this Little Qi you speak of?"
"Oh, my disciple. I’ll bring him over for you to meet tomorrow," Su Yu replied.
Xu Changqing cupped his fists. "Thank you."
Xu Changqing was somewhat interested in this Little Qi, since Little Qi was about as strong as him.
If Xu Changqing knew Little Qi was only a few years old, he would probably be too shocked to speak.
Not long afterward, Tang Xuejian found two guest rooms for Su Yu and Xu Changqing. Before long, the sun rose, and they had no choice but to get up.
Early in the morning, Jing Tian, Meng Qi, and Wolf Lord arrived at the Tang Mansion. When Xu Changqing saw Wolf Lord enter the Tang Mansion, he froze for a moment. "A demon?"
Su Yu explained, "This is my companion, Little Ha."
Meng Qi looked at Su Yu and called out, "Good morning, Master."
Xu Changqing froze. "This child is Meng Qi?"
Su Yu and Tang Xuejian nodded. Xu Changqing suddenly felt as though his mind could not keep up. He looked only eight or nine years old, yet his strength was already comparable to Xu Changqing’s? Once he grew up, would he not ascend to immortality?
Just as Xu Changqing had guessed, as long as Meng Qi continued cultivating diligently, he would more or less become an immortal by the age of twenty-three.
Xu Changqing said in disbelief, "Is his strength really comparable to mine?"
Su Yu nodded. "Little Qi, go outside and spar with Changqing. Changqing is about as strong as you, so give it your all in battle."
Meng Qi froze for a moment, then nodded and said to Xu Changqing, "Changqing Ge, let’s fight outside the city."
Xu Changqing nodded, then left using the Sword Control Technique. Immediately afterward, Xu Changqing, Tang Xuejian, and the others watched Meng Qi rise into the air on a guqin.
Jing Tian shouted in amazement, "Damn, Yu Ge, can you teach me that? I want to fly too!"
"Both the Sword Control Technique and the Zither Control Technique are very easy. Which one do you want to learn?" Su Yu asked Jing Tian.
Without hesitation, Jing Tian said, "The sword! I’m going to become a sword immortal. Zithers are only suited for Yu Ge, not me."
"Alright. Xue Jian, go find two Wooden Swords," Su Yu said to Tang Xuejian.
Tang Xuejian immediately instructed the servants to bring over three Wooden Swords. She did not dream of becoming a sword immortal, but she was interested in flying, so learning along with them seemed nice.
Su Yu did not refuse. Teaching one was teaching, and teaching two was also teaching. Su Yu demonstrated the Sword Control Technique for them. Standing atop a Wooden Sword, he flew back and forth above the Tang Mansion, making both of them itch with envy. They wished they were the ones standing on that Wooden Sword.
After flying around for a while, Su Yu descended and taught them the incantation and hand seals for the Sword Control Technique. Using incantations and hand seals was entirely cutting corners; Su Yu and Meng Qi did not rely on such things. With but a thought, they could control a guqin.
Since Jing Tian and Tang Xuejian had no cultivation, they could only learn this shortcut version of the Sword Control Technique.
