The Ambitious Hydra
Edison opened his eyes, sat up in bed, walked to the door of the detention room, reached out, and tore it off as easily as ripping a sheet of paper. Then he strode out.
The base’s alarm immediately began blaring, and large numbers of soldiers rushed over. But Edison had already mastered the power of Magnetic Field Rotation, and the base’s existing defenses were completely incapable of stopping him. He had learned the routes in and out of the base from his memories and easily killed his way out.
When the Magnetic Field Warriors on duty arrived in Strong Magnetic Armor, all they saw were corpses and chunks of flesh strewn across the ground. There was no sign of Edison.
When Councilman Malik heard the news, he immediately realized that this Edison might be connected to the leader of Hydra he had been searching for. He promptly got into a car and hurried back.
Halfway there, a figure suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle. He placed one hand on the hood and forcibly brought the car to a stop.
Malick’s bodyguard was also a Magnetic Field Warrior. Seeing this, he hurriedly put on his armor and prepared for battle. But one sentence from Edison made him stop.
"I saw you in those people’s memories. Have you been looking for me?"
Malick drew in a sharp breath, then erupted with joy. Disregarding the danger, he got out of the car and walked over to Edison.
"If you are the leader our Hydra has been searching for, then yes, we have been looking for you!"
"There are no sleeping gods on the alien planet. I am the alien planet’s only god!" Edison said coldly, his expression calm.
Malick frowned. "But you seem… a little too weak! I don’t know how you’re supposed to lead us in ruling this world."
In the original television series, Hive appeared in Ward’s body. In Malick’s eyes, that was a divine miracle equivalent to resurrecting the dead, or at least something on the level of body possession. But now, Hive had been captured in the form of a parasite, and his aura had collapsed by tens of thousands of times.
Moreover, Earth’s power level in the television series was relatively low. Malick had been delighted just to obtain a broken mechanical arm. But the Earth now was full of Magnetic Field Warriors, and even Malick himself was a minor expert at the level of Current Drive.
Different abilities and a changed environment naturally led to a change in people’s horizons as well.
If the Hive whom he had pursued for a thousand years was only this strong, Malick would be extremely disappointed. And when a thousand-year dream was shattered in a single day, there was no telling what Malick might do. Overthrowing one’s superior was nothing new in Hydra.
"Prepare the corpses of powerful Magnetic Field Warriors for me. The stronger the corpse, the stronger I can become!" Edison ordered matter-of-factly.
"Oh?" Malick’s heart stirred, but he immediately shook his head. "It was already extremely difficult to obtain a First Heaven corpse before. Now, even the corpses of powerful Magnetic Field Warriors are valuable resources. They can’t be acquired easily."
"Besides, the stronger an expert is, the harder it is for them to die. In powerful battles, experts who die in combat often leave no remains. Where are we supposed to get corpses?" Malick found this request extremely difficult.
"That is the very purpose of Hydra’s existence. Otherwise, why would I become your leader?"
Edison’s contemptuous tone irritated Malick. But amid the changing times, for Malick’s faction to continue existing instead of being swallowed by the other Hydra factions, it needed a sufficiently powerful expert to hold down the fort.
After thinking it over carefully, he said, "The strongest known Magnetic Field Warrior to have died in battle should be T’Challa, Wakanda’s former king. We just don’t know where his body was buried. We may have to investigate through the other Hydra factions."
"Also, find out how the Inhumans are distributed throughout this world. I can control all Inhumans. We can use their power to kill Magnetic Field Warriors and obtain their corpses."
"Inhumans?" Malick rubbed his chin and hesitated. "We haven’t researched them much, but it seems Daniel Whitehall knows these people fairly well. I’ll try trading with him later."
The two sides reached a deal. Malick voluntarily handed over leadership of this Hydra faction, allowing Hive Edison to take power smoothly.
Montana is located in the northwestern United States. It covers more than 380,000 square kilometers, making it the fourth-largest state in the country. However, it has vast territory and a sparse population, with an average population density of fewer than three people per square kilometer. Its mineral resources are abundant, but its industry is underdeveloped, and animal husbandry is the main pursuit.
The state is covered in mountains, which is unfavorable for industrial development. Moreover, three-fifths of its total area is covered by grassland.
Those who live by the mountains eat from the mountains, and those who live by the water eat from the water. Here, the grasslands provided cattle and sheep. Montana’s beef and wool industries ranked among the best in the entire United States.
On the boundless prairie, one might not see a single person all year. But today, a group of uninvited guests had arrived.
More than a dozen large transport trucks did not travel along the highways. Instead, they drove straight across the grassland. Every animal they encountered fled in panic, racing far away from these never-before-seen steel monsters.
The convoy stopped in the center of the prairie. The doors opened, and a huge metal foot stepped out of one of the vehicles. When it landed on the ground, it immediately crushed a deep hole into the grassland.
Dr. Zola gazed at the distant Rocky Mountains, then looked around. The sky was high and the clouds far away, and the endless landscape was nothing but open road. In the distance, he seemed to be able to make out the Missouri River.
"The natural scenery here is excellent, with hardly any signs of human pollution. Even better, the underground mineral resources are abundant, making this an ideal place for our development. This is the place!"
He waved his hand, and large numbers of Hydra soldiers filed out of the following vehicles and began constructing the base on the spot.
Thanks to the world’s superheroes and supervillains, advanced construction technology was constantly emerging from the major organizations.
In just one day, a high-tech base rose from the ground. Residential buildings, an airport, warehouses, and other functional facilities were then constructed.
After that, various transport aircraft flew back and forth, delivering all kinds of resources here. At the fastest possible speed, they established a high-tech factory on the boundless prairie.
Inside the factory, countless humanoid robots were rapidly assembled and sent off the production lines. Under Dr. Zola’s control, they quickly replaced the human workers.
As a Dr. Zola of the Ninety-Second Heaven, his martial prowess aside, his brain’s processing speed had already far surpassed that of every super quantum computer in existence.
This was the proper use of astonishing intelligence!
After just a few weeks, all the Hydra forces had withdrawn from the area. The entire base was operated and controlled solely by robots, while the factory’s production lines continued spitting out more robots day and night.
