The Books Frigga Gave Him

A year ago, when the Chitauri invaded Earth, Coulson had faced Loki alone. Loki stabbed his little heart to pieces, killing him.

Although Coulson was later revived, few people knew about it at first. Only Fury, Li Feng, Stark, and a handful of others knew how Coulson had come back to life.

Later, Coulson secretly traveled around with his own team.

As Coulson began appearing more frequently within S.H.I.E.L.D., Natasha, Steve, Barton, and the others gradually learned that he was still alive—all except Thor.

There was no helping it. Thor was far away in Asgard, and even if they wanted to tell him, they had no way to contact him.

So when Coulson appeared on Greenwich Campus, Thor held up his hammer with an expression as though he had seen a ghost and asked, "Coulson? Are you alive or dead?"

Coulson raised an eyebrow and pointed at Li Feng, who was sprawled over the Frost Beast and eating huge mouthfuls. He smiled gently. "Come to think of it, I should thank Austin. Back then, he bought me a great deal of time. That was why the treatment team was able to save me when they arrived."

"Austin?" Thor recalled the scene of Li Feng saving Frigga and nodded with a sigh. "Yes, he really is remarkable. Even though he is a Dark Mage, he is better at saving people than a White Mage."

Coulson caught the hidden meaning in Thor’s words. After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Did Austin save someone again?"

Thor glanced at Jane beside him and nodded. "Not only did he buy time for Jane’s treatment, he also saved the Queen of Asgard—my mother."

Coulson narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment. He looked curious on the surface, but his ears were practically perked up as he asked, "Knowing Austin, he probably asked you for quite a lot in return."

"No, he didn’t." Thor looked pleased to have a friend like Li Feng and smiled. "Austin merely asked for passage through Asgard. We were the ones who felt that the price for simply passing through was too low, so we gave him a suit of armor forged from Uru Metal."

Coulson’s face darkened. You idiot, Austin definitely did that on purpose. Not only did he get free passage, he even got extra benefits.

Though he thought so, Coulson would not share his guess with Thor. After all, Li Feng was an Earthling, and given his relationship with Li Feng, there would be chances to borrow the armor for research later.

With that in mind, Coulson smiled gently. After apologizing, he directed Fitz and Simmons behind him to take out their equipment, inspect the nearby alien items, and collect them for transport back to the Air Command, where the dangerous objects could be destroyed together.

As for whether S.H.I.E.L.D. would really destroy the alien items in the end, Coulson firmly believed that they would.

Thor nodded at Coulson, signaling that he would not disturb their work, then led Jane toward Li Feng.

By then, Stark had already signed his name on Skye’s computer and written several words of blessing.

After saying goodbye to Stark and the others, Skye returned to Coulson’s team with cheerful steps.

Natasha glanced at Skye and quietly said to Li Feng, "Good. She still remembers that her job is to collect Dark Elf items, not chase celebrities. Otherwise, she can wait for a pay cut."

Stark shrugged. "I think Skye is pretty good. If you fire her, I can hire her at my company."

"Heh." Natasha looked at Stark and shrugged. "Just because she calls Austin ‘Uncle,’ do you think Fury would let her leave?" After a pause, Natasha sighed. "In the blink of an eye, that little girl has grown so much."

Stark rubbed the bridge of his nose, puzzled. "Why does it sound like you know Skye too?"

Natasha nodded slightly, indicating that she did indeed know Skye, but she did not explain anything to Stark. It was neither a major matter nor something worth bragging about. Why explain it so clearly?

Besides, Thor had already brought Jane over to them. What was there to talk about regarding a little girl like Skye? The box in Thor’s hand was what Natasha should be paying attention to.

"Where are you taking that thing?" Natasha asked with narrowed eyes.

"Uh…" Thor tilted his head and thought for a moment. "I originally wanted to destroy the Aether, but I discovered that I am not powerful enough. Now, I should let Father see whether he can destroy it or decide where to bury it."

After saying that, Thor turned to Sif. "Sorry, everyone. It’s time for us to go back and accept our punishment."

Sif covertly glanced at Jane, who was holding Thor’s hand. If she could help it, she would not spend even another second on Earth. Especially when she saw Jane leaning against Thor, she wanted to draw her sword and challenge Jane. Whoever won would get Thor.

Against weak trash like Jane, Sif was confident she could kill her in one move. Unfortunately, Thor clearly would never agree to a duel between two ladies.

Now that Thor had spoken, Sif immediately smiled and nodded. "All right."

Nearby, Volstagg looked regretfully at the fragrant Frost Beast before turning to Li Feng.

Before Volstagg could say anything, Li Feng showed that he understood at once. He winked at Volstagg, signaling that they were kindred spirits, then shrank the Frost Beast and stuffed it into his shoulder bag.

Remembering the excuse he had used to request passage, Li Feng said, "Wait for me," then ran back to the motorhome amid everyone’s confused stares.

Back at the motorhome, Li Feng kicked Abomination awake from his statue act. By now, Li Feng was certain that Abomination was Mephisto’s informant. For something as important as searching for the Infinity Stones, there was no way he would keep Abomination at his side. That would be way too damn exciting.

As he opened a Portal, Li Feng said, "I’m going on a long trip. Stay by the lake and guard the house. If anything happens to the house, I’ll skin you alive."

Try it. I don’t even have skin, Abomination thought as he got up and stepped through the Portal. "Yes, Master."

Watching that traitorous bastard Abomination leave, Li Feng cast a Shrinking Charm on the motorhome. Unfortunately, many of the motorhome’s parts were magical materials. Li Feng had to use all his strength before he could shrink it down to the size of a suitcase.

Scratching his head, Li Feng put the motorhome into the suitcase, carried it back to Thor, and said, "I’m ready. When are we going to Asgard?"

Thor gazed lovingly at Jane, gave a somewhat forced smile, and said, "Trust me. I’ll be back very soon this time. Wait for me."

Sif shot Jane an annoyed look and silently adjusted the sword in her hand. I really want to fight right now.

As Thor raised his head and shouted, "Heimdall!" a seven-colored pillar of light enveloped Li Feng and the others.

Back in Asgard, Heimdall said expressionlessly, "The Allfather is waiting for you, Your Highness."

Thor forced a smile. He knew exactly what kind of man his father was, especially when dealing with subordinates who disobeyed orders. His punishments had always been severe.

And what they had done this time was not merely disobeying orders. It was enough to count as treason.

Thor looked apologetically at Sif and the Warriors Three, patted them on the shoulders, and said, "Sorry for dragging you into this."

Volstagg, Fandral, and the others shrugged indifferently. They smiled, patted Thor on the shoulder, and comforted him. "Don’t worry. We have the merit of wiping out the Dark Elves. At most, our merits and faults will cancel each other out. The Allfather probably will not do anything to us."

Thor smiled apologetically and led everyone toward the Golden Palace.

At the entrance to the Hall of Governance, a guard stopped Li Feng and explained to Thor, "By order of the Allfather, Mage, you are not an Asgardian and do not need to abide by Asgardian law, so…" After a pause, the guard respectfully bowed to Li Feng. "Mage, your servant is already waiting for you in your room."

Odin inside is probably Loki in disguise. That guy is afraid I’ll see through him, so he won’t let me enter. After all, Loki’s illusion was completely ineffective against me back then.

With that thought, Li Feng’s lips curled slightly. Smiling, he signaled Thor not to worry about him, waved his hand to open a Portal, and returned to his room.

As soon as he returned to the room, Kreacher ran up to Li Feng. "Boss, is there anything Kreacher needs to do?"

Li Feng scratched his head, handed the suitcase to Kreacher, and asked, "Have you finished copying the books in the library?"

Kreacher took the suitcase, grinned, and returned the Magic Book to Li Feng. "Kreacher has finished copying all the books the Asgardians allowed him to copy, Boss. Queen Frigga gave you several books."

"Books?" Li Feng asked in confusion. "What kind of books? Bring them to me."

"Kreacher will get them right away."

Kreacher vanished from before Li Feng in an instant. When he reappeared, he was holding two books shimmering with magical light.

Li Feng casually picked up one book and flipped through it. It was a spellbook that recorded how to grow magical plants and raise magical animals.

Suddenly, Li Feng remembered that Frigga was the goddess in mythology who presided over abundance and fertility.

This book is related to abundance and fertility. Did Frigga give me a guide to getting rich because she wants me to start a farm and make my fortune?

Puzzled, Li Feng handed the "guide to getting rich" to Kreacher. Kreacher should read this thing. After all, Kreacher runs the Farm in the motorhome.

As for the remaining book, Li Feng looked through it a few times, then rolled his eyes and grumbled inwardly, I knew that old bastard Odin lied to me. He even told me that Asgard only had methods for tempering the body with Divine Power.

Frigga is still the lovable one. Knowing that I want to strengthen my physique, she specially gave me a method for tempering the body with energy.

Reading was a pleasure, and such pleasure could easily make one forget the passage of time.

For example, Li Feng was so immersed in the knowledge within the books, pondering how to improve his physique, that he failed to notice Sif standing before him with a small sack in hand and Volstagg beside her, leading two goats.

Sif gave a dry cough and set the small sack down in front of Li Feng. "The Allfather has agreed to your request for passage and has arranged the appropriate ‘travel abroad’ procedures for you."

"These are gifts from the Queen." Volstagg pointed first at the sack, then at the two goats. "A bag of plant seeds, along with one male and one female Asgardian Gray Goat."

Guide to getting rich? Li Feng could tell that although the two gray goats looked docile, the magic within their bodies told him that they were fierce beasts—and highly nourishing meat.

All right, Frigga really does want me to start a farm and make my fortune.

"Thank you." As he spoke, Li Feng gestured for Kreacher to open the suitcase. After putting away the seeds, he had the two Asgardian Gray Goats shut inside the motorhome’s pasture.

"When are we going to Xandar?"

Sif raised an eyebrow, stepped aside to clear the way, and smiled. "Now."
