The Bus Turned into a Wreck
Under normal circumstances, reinforcements would not have arrived so quickly. After all, Jizhou Town had to consider whether the request for help was genuine.
What if Wen Jing’s communication device had been seized by the Demon Army and used to lure Jizhou Town’s Diamond Grade Card Masters into a trap?
But Zhang Jingxing could not afford to worry about that.
Of course, he knew there might be a trick involved, but compared to that, he was more concerned about his Junior Disciple’s safety.
During the previous siege, Lu Su had nearly lost his life.
If not for the Holy Blade Armor being powerful enough, he would definitely have died in the spatial turbulence.
Therefore, after receiving Wen Jing’s plea for help this time, Zhang Jingxing had set off without the slightest hesitation.
He would rather make a mistake than do nothing.
If his momentary hesitation truly cost his Junior Disciple his life, Zhang Jingxing feared he would never forgive himself for the rest of his life.
More importantly, if that really happened, he did not even know how he would face his Teacher and fellow disciples, especially Kurumi.
However, when he reached the coordinates sent in the message, he saw that golden beam tearing through the sky.
Zhang Jingxing’s pupils contracted sharply. "Could there really be a trap?!"
The sight before him left him with no choice but to suspect that, just as Kuang Shou Zheng and the others had said, the Demon Army had seized Wen Jing’s phone.
After all, he had never seen that kind of attack in the Northern Territory.
"Has another secret realm joined the Demon Army?"
That was the first thought to arise in Zhang Jingxing’s mind.
As for whether this might have been a new card created by Lu Su—
The possibility had never even crossed his mind. A Jade Grade card simply could not unleash an attack of that level.
Not even a Red Quality Jade Grade card could do it.
But Zhang Jingxing quickly noticed something was wrong. That attack had not been aimed at him at all.
Even if it had missed, it could not have gone completely in the opposite direction.
A trace of doubt rose in his heart, and he immediately continued rushing forward.
Before long, Zhang Jingxing ran head-on into Lu Su, who was fleeing away from Luster.
He spoke in astonishment, "Junior Disciple?!"
Although Lu Su looked somewhat bedraggled and had suffered a few injuries, he honestly did not look like someone being hunted by a Diamond Grade Demon.
In Zhang Jingxing’s imagination, losing an arm or a leg would have counted as a minor injury.
The moment Lu Su saw Zhang Jingxing, he could not help but breathe a sigh of relief. "Senior Disciple Brother."
Because he did not know how much damage Excalibur could inflict on Luster, he had truly been afraid that slut would come through it completely unharmed.
Fortunately, his Senior Disciple Brother had arrived in time. Even if Altria’s long-prepared attack had failed to achieve anything, he would be safe now.
"That attack just now—"
Just as Zhang Jingxing was about to ask what had happened, an enraged roar shook the heavens. "Lu Su!"
It was Luster.
In her extreme fury, she did not even call Lu Su sweetheart anymore.
Zhang Jingxing’s expression darkened. He naturally recognized the Bewitching Woman’s voice.
Without time to investigate what had just happened, he said in a low voice, "Junior Disciple, leave first. I’ll handle her."
But the instant his words fell, a horrifying skeleton appeared before him, wisps of charred flesh still hanging from its bones.
"Luster?"
The Demon’s unique appearance left Zhang Jingxing uncertain for a moment whether it was truly Luster.
Lu Su was not surprised that Luster had survived. Rather, he was already somewhat shocked that Excalibur under Full Restraint Release had managed to inflict this much damage.
After all, Luster could at least be considered above average among Diamond Grade Demons.
However, the skeleton ignored Zhang Jingxing completely and instead locked its gaze firmly onto Lu Su behind him. "Lu Su."
"You actually—"
"You actually dared to destroy my perfect body!"
"I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to suck you dry right here!"
A hysterical roar rang out. Luster was utterly deranged.
Yet upon hearing her words, Lu Su’s first reaction was to wonder where her voice was coming from when she no longer even had vocal cords.
But Luster clearly had no intention of answering that question for him.
Unaware of Lu Su’s thoughts, fine cracks instantly spread beneath the skeletal female Demon’s feet, and then she vanished from where she stood.
Zhang Jingxing’s face darkened. "You really don’t think much of me."
The next instant, the pale skeleton was seized by the head by a card and smashed viciously into the distance.
Boom!
Amid the tremendous crash, Luster was slammed deep into a distant mountainside.
"Junior Disciple, head back to Jizhou Town first. Leave this to me."
But the moment they exchanged blows, Zhang Jingxing sensed the weakness beneath Luster’s terrifying exterior.
Lu Su nodded slightly, a hint of exhaustion appearing between his brows. "All right."
With that, he hurried toward Jizhou Town under the Ghost Shadow Soldiers’ guidance.
It would be a lie to say he was not tired. At the end of the day, he was only a Jade Grade Card Master, and handling a Diamond Grade great Demon like Luster alone was still somewhat strenuous.
Of course, if he said that to outsiders, they would only think he was showing off.
A Jade Grade having no ability to fight back against a Diamond Grade should have been the normal situation.
Not long afterward, Lu Su encountered Wen Jing, who had returned to look for him. "Xiao Luo?"
The short-haired woman looked at him in delighted surprise. "You’re all right?!"
Lu Su waved a hand slightly, indicating that he was fine.
However, Wen Jing was not alone. Accompanying her was Jizhou Town’s Commander-in-Chief, Kuang Shou Zheng.
Apparently, after the short-haired woman returned to Jizhou Town, she had confirmed the authenticity of the request for help.
Kuang Shou Zheng raised an eyebrow as he looked at the youth before him. "Lord Luo, where is Lord Zhang?"
Lu Su pointed behind him. "Senior Disciple Brother is back there dealing with Luster."
Seeing the exhaustion on his face, Kuang Shou Zheng shook his head and said no more, immediately preparing to set off to support Zhang Jingxing.
Just then—
Thud.
With a dull sound, a round skeleton head fell onto the snow before the three of them.
Then Zhang Jingxing appeared before them.
"Luster is dead."
"This time, our Shuběi Army has finally eliminated a grave threat."
Hearing this, Kuang Shou Zheng stared at the skeleton head on the snow in astonishment. "This is Luster?!"
"Lord Zhang, when did you become so strong?"
He did not know that Luster had already been severely wounded before Zhang Jingxing arrived, so he assumed Zhang Jingxing had killed her in such a short time.
In response to Kuang Shou Zheng’s question, Zhang Jingxing shook his head slightly before looking at Lu Su beside him. "This time, I merely benefited from my Junior Disciple."
"I barely had to do anything."
Hearing this, Kuang Shou Zheng seemed unable to understand what he meant and looked at Lu Su beside him in slight confusion.
"Lord Luo?"
"Lord Zhang, are you joking?"
