The Dawn War Begins

On the only route from the Wind Country to the Land of Rain lay a narrow, easily overlooked valley. A unit of Ninja in dusty gray vests and Amegakure forehead protectors was hidden here. Sand Ninja skilled in Earth Release had built simple defensive fortifications throughout the area, with arched earthen bunkers standing one after another across the valley. It was around three in the morning. Everyone in the valley was asleep, and only the crackling of the brazier could be heard.
