The eagle, the lion, the bull, and the man—these are the “Four Living Creatures” mentioned in the Book of Revelation, which correspond to the four personalities of Christ.
In theological and occult traditions, this is an extremely important image. It also appears repeatedly as a symbol in Tarot cards.
The famous later psychologist Jung even mapped these four symbols to the structure of the human psyche:
[Man], representing reason, language, and comprehension, corresponding to logic and thought;
[Lion], symbolizing the heart, courage, passion, and anger, just like surging emotions;
[Bull], symbolizing the earth and the flesh, heavy and solid, close to sensory and realistic experiences;
[Eagle], capable of soaring high and looking at the big picture, symbolizing transcendence and foresight, corresponding to intuition and insight.
In Jungian analytical psychology, these are the four basic elements that constitute the human psyche.
For this world design, Qi Xing didn't have much of an opinion—after all, a universe built on Jungian psychology is much better than one built on Freudian psychology, right?
Just thinking of Freud made Qi Xing instinctively uneasy.
However, once he realized that the underlying settings of this universe were all copied by Sasa from who knows where—copying a bit here, patching a piece there, and finally stitching it all together into a lump with zero originality—Qi Xing couldn't help but feel a deep sense of despair.
Oh God, why don't you just come and take this monster away?
What's even more pathetic is that compared to Qi Xing, the one who took an even bigger hit was actually Xue Ning.
"…Although I already knew White God was unreliable, I never expected her to be this…"
This leader of the Peacock Disciples, although she had long known that Sasa, the Creator God, was absolutely not as dignified as she claimed, still acknowledged her authority as the Creator God and admitted that she was the Mother of the World and the Mother of all living things.
As the saying goes, a child does not despise their mother for being ugly. No matter how foolish your mother is, she is still your mother. So, Xue Ning still had some respect for Sasa.
Now, her respect was really about to crumble.
"Since our universe is just a stitched-up monster copied by a crazy idiot creator, and our actions and thoughts are just reflections of that idiot creator… then what is the meaning of our existence…"
She murmured in a low voice, her face pale.
Xue Ning was not a person with particularly strong mental resilience to begin with; she had easily collapsed when fighting Qi Xing before, and now she couldn't help but be full of despair.
Now she could really understand the psychology behind why Bo Xun wanted to destroy the world in the first place.
By contrast, Elaine didn't really care about such things anymore. As for Lin, that goes without saying.
Seeing that Xue Ning was about to collapse again, Qi Xing glanced at Sasa, who was covering her face, and said calmly: "Don't be so devastated, Xue Ning, Sasa actually isn't as bad as you think."
Huh?
Lin sighed, Sasa was stunned, and both Elaine and Xue Ning couldn't help but show expressions of "Are you kidding me?"
"I'm serious, look at Sasa's current state and think about it carefully."
Qi Xing, however, remained calm and continued to explain indifferently,
"When she gets caught plagiarizing, at least she admits it, at least she has a sense of shame; it's at least much better than her previous 'shameless' state."
Once upon a time, when Qi Xing pointed out Sasa's evil deeds, not only would she not deny them, but she would also be smug, taking pride in them instead of feeling ashamed.
But recently, especially after the [Battle of the Moon], her reactions have changed significantly; she feels shame, fear, and even covers her face, afraid to see people.
It seems that being thwarted by the Giant Spirit Bo Xun, whom she created, has been very beneficial to Sasa's psychological growth.
"What does this mean? It means she has begun to have a sense of shame. As long as there is still a sense of shame, it means she is not completely hopeless."
Qi Xing said with a firm expression,
"Xue Ning, you have lived much longer than I have; if you think about it a little, you should know. In this world, there are plenty of people who, even when caught making a mistake, refuse to admit it even when the evidence is laid out in front of them, or are fundamentally shameless."
"Considering that the nature of those people is also reflected from Sasa, one can only say that her recent progress is already quite significant."
"As for the meaning of your existence, not to mention whether it was done well or not, at least Sasa did create the humans of this universe with a clear purpose. Without you, this universe would be meaningless."
"She hoped you would be excellent, she hoped you would all be better [New Humans]—you have a clear design goal, it's just that the designer is too stupid to have succeeded."
"Isn't this better than existing accidentally and aimlessly, and then dying meaninglessly?"
As soon as these words were spoken, Sasa, who had been huddled in the corner, immediately had red-rimmed eyes, tears shimmering in her large golden eyes, filled with the emotion of being understood.
As for Xue Ning, she was no longer collapsing; she was simply left speechless by what she heard.
Lin and Elaine looked at each other and sighed in unison—they both knew clearly that Qi Xing spoiled this devil way too much.
Ever since the [Battle of the Moon] ended and Samael was turned into a living person, Qi Xing's attitude toward her has been much better than before. After meeting the [King of Hell] today and hearing him explain the truth of all living things in this universe, wouldn't Qi Xing spoil this devil rotten?
Some say that the prerequisite for love is understanding. To be loved means to be understood—without considering what kind of "love" this is, Qi Xing has indeed been understanding Sasa more and more lately.
Overall, this is not a bad thing.
Because Sasa is all living things, Sasa is the universe. The more he understands Sasa, the more Qi Xing can understand the divine power of the [silver coin]. He will become stronger.
However, as Qi Xing's wife, Elaine's feelings were naturally a bit complicated.
As an angel, Lin's feelings were even more complicated.
"Alright, everyone, stop dwelling on it. Life must go on, and I still have to find ways to keep getting stronger."
Qi Xing said cleanly and decisively, as if to conclude today's discussion,
"Before I complete the next step of my comprehension of the [silver coin], let's adopt a defensive stance for now.."
Since Qi Xing had already decided, even though everyone might have had their own complaints, there was nothing more to say.
Just as Qi Xing said, even if it has turned into a fantasy wasteland, a land of the Dharma-ending apocalyptic era, new days must still be lived. Usually, besides going out to fight, Qi Xing could spend most of his time buried in thought and studying divine power, but Elaine and Xue Ning had a mountain of government affairs that they needed to handle.
Occasionally, Elaine and Xue Ning would encounter matters they couldn't decide on their own; sometimes, some special people would request to meet [Venerable Leipu] directly to present their demands.
To prevent people with extraordinary powers from causing trouble in the city, Qi Xing arranged to meet those applicants once a week.
Obviously, many people attempted to challenge [Venerable Leipu] during these meetings, or even tried to assassinate him, but these people had all turned into piles of excrement-like flesh.
Before Qi Xing could research the further divine power of the [silver coin], these days of the weary-hearted ruling over others, and the manual laborers being "Leipu-ed," while protecting one side of the wasteland, seemed destined to continue…
That's probably what everyone thought.
However, only ten days after returning from [Heaven], an unexpected situation occurred.
— — — — — — — — — —
On this day, it happened to be the time for [Venerable Leipu] to meet the week's petitioners in Rome.
Sitting on a large sofa chair that looked like a throne, Qi Xing, with a calm expression, met with the week's visitors one by one in this rather large meeting room.
Almost every guest was making some very stupid requests, such as asking [Master Leipu] to fly to guard South Africa and India every day. But no one was truly rude, so Qi Xing didn't intend to do anything to them.
While using his subconscious to fob them off one by one, Qi Xing let his mind wander, thinking as he pleased.
Once upon a time, power was not everything from the very beginning.
Before reaching the realm of the Demon King or even higher, the strong in this world still needed technology, resources, and organizations.
At that time, even top-tier powerhouses, in order to achieve their political goals, had to carefully prepare satellite nuclear weapons, unite different people, and promise different benefits to secure results.
But what about now? With the arrival of the apocalypse, with the return of Qi Xing and the true players on the chessboard, when everyone's power broke through to the final realm, the world simplified into a beast-fighting game.
Where there are people, there is politics, and people must submit to politics because politics represents a form of power, but if someone can overturn even this power, then what can the "people" do?
Society, countries, organizations, and companions are no longer parts of life that need to be carefully understood and handled, but trophies, decorations, or even canvases to be played with.
It is certainly good to carefully outline like the [King of Hell], but if Qi Xing had no morals and no love, it probably wouldn't matter if he wanted to just scribble on the canvas for fun.
And no matter what you do, as long as you have the power to make him win and are willing to show it, others will regard you as a god.
There are far fewer people who revere [Venerable Leipu] as a god than those who worship and revere the [King of Hell]. Is this just because Qi Xing's power is inferior to the barbarian Christ?
Or is it because he is not brutal enough, not ruthless enough, and has not sufficiently displayed his strength and ability to win?
…Qi Xing was basically just thinking randomly, letting his mind wander.
The [Dominator] is actually not a dominator, at least not entirely a dominator; it is actually the [World], and he is still pondering how to use it in the future.
While distracted and pondering, he didn't stop until he saw the next petitioner walk into the meeting room; only then did Qi Xing couldn't help but be slightly stunned.
This visitor was clearly an Easterner.
Her long, silky black hair was tied into double buns, with a few stray hairs hanging by her temples, making her face look even more exquisite. Her eyes were clear, like a lake of green water, crystalline and limpid.
Her skin was like jade, glowing with a delicate luster; her quite slender figure was outlined by a well-tailored white and blue dress, revealing her curvy lines. The fabric was light, carrying an ethereal air that seemed detached from the mundane world.
If one had to describe her temperament, it would probably be the word "fairy." There was a kind of cold yet holy beauty.
It's just that this fairy's… front armor, is really huge.
Is it even bigger than Lin's?
Could it be another sinister enchantress coming to use some kind of honey trap on [Venerable Leipu]?
Raising a hint of vigilance in his heart, Qi Xing still maintained his usual demeanor, nodded slightly to the Eastern woman with the powerful front armor, and asked: "What's the matter, fellow countryman? Now that these ancient immortal ancestors are appearing one after another and vying for the Central Plains, I am also stretched thin and have no time to go back and get involved. If it's a request of that nature, there's no need to ask."
With the first sentence, Qi Xing gave a preemptive warning, blocking any request the other party might make.
However, this woman with an extraordinary demeanor just stared silently at Qi Xing for a good while. The gaze radiating from her narrowed phoenix eyes was like a sword blade sharpened to the extreme.
After a good while, the woman finally said:
"I just wanted to observe you up close after finally encountering you again, now that you've run away from home and changed your name."
Huh?
The voice, which seemed to have been heard somewhere before, made Qi Xing slightly stunned. After understanding the meaning of the words, Qi Xing finally became a bit nervous.
"Long time no see… Brother Nie Xu."
The woman curled her lips and continued, "Or should I say nice to meet you for the first time, [Venerable Leipu]? Mr. Qi Xing?"
Oh no.
In an instant, Qi Xing felt a cold sweat quietly breaking out.
Even though he was already an immortal, being this nervous—was it a bit embarrassing? But there was no helping it.
Because Qi Xing,
He,
…didn't remember who this person was at all!
Nie Xu was the name of the original owner of the body that Qi Xing possessed after his soul transmigrated in this life; he knew that much.
However, unlike most protagonists who transmigrate with their souls in this day and age, Qi Xing didn't inherit the memories of the original body owner at all!
Perhaps it was because his soul was a [Descender], and the souls of this world were all knock-offs created by Sasa, so when he transmigrated, he directly crushed the remaining memories of the original owner.
"What's wrong, Brother Nie Xu? You wouldn't say that after ten years, you don't remember me anymore, would you?"
Seeing [Venerable Leipu] remain unmoved, the woman frowned with some displeasure,
"Well, never mind. If I were to bicker with you, it would be my own fault."
Who the hell are you?!
Qi Xing had stayed in the original owner's cultivation family for less than a month before being scared away; who would still remember who this woman in front of him was?!
Volume 7: Dharma-Ending Apocalyptic Era: 246: Freud
First, she called Qi Xing "Nie Xu," and then she called him [Venerable Leipu], her tone sounding like she was mocking him for using a pseudonym.
—Miss, who are you?
Facing this woman (suspected to be a relative of the original owner of his body), Qi Xing felt immense pressure and was extremely vigilant.
Some might say: You are already [Venerable Leipu], why be so vigilant? It would be understandable when you were weak, but by now, Qi Xing's strength is enough to sweep everything away; he could completely do whatever he wants.
Indeed, he could.
In terms of "power," he absolutely could.
But Qi Xing realized immediately that he absolutely could not do that.
Just a few days ago, he was complaining about Sasa, saying that she plagiarized her father and brother's database, ran to the lower realm to start a knock-off universe on her own initiative, and even dared to beat up Jesus who came to check on the situation; it was simply shameless.
Qi Xing transmigrated into the Sasa Universe, stole the body of a genius from someone else's cultivation family, then ran away and changed back to his original name. If you ask whether this matter and Sasa's matter are the same in nature—of course, they are not.
But if you want to say there is no similarity between the two, that probably wouldn't be appropriate either.
If Qi Xing were to coldly kick the original owner's relative away, wouldn't he become another Sasa? That's outrageous; he couldn't bring himself to do it!
Only at this very moment did he truly realize what [King of Hell] meant when he said that Sasa's nature would be reflected among all living things.
One cannot become Sasa!
So after calming down, Qi Xing made up his mind, straightened his expression, and spoke solemnly to the woman in front of him: "I am not your brother."
As soon as these words were spoken, the woman immediately frowned: "…What?"
