The Final Battle (12) (I’m Back! Updating Now!)

At the very center of the arena, at its lofty highest point, a beam of light descended, and a figure appeared out of thin air. It was none other than Xiao Hen’s avatar.

Xiao Hen’s appearance instantly silenced the clamor in the arena, and every gaze turned toward him.

As the avatar of the Lord of Time and Space, Xiao Hen now represented the majesty of the Church of Time and Space. His gaze was icy and detached as he looked down upon the entire venue.

After calmly sweeping his indifferent gaze across the audience stands and competitor area, Xiao Hen said evenly, "Today is a battle to settle the dispute between Prada and the angels. Once this battle is over, all grievances will be completely wiped away!"

At those words, everyone stirred inwardly. The Prada people who could attend were either upper echelons or military powerhouses, and most of them knew what Xiao Hen meant.

Back then, it had been the decision of these higher-ups to forcibly order the human civilizations under their command to hand over angels for research. They had to bear the blame for that.

As for the angels, the protagonists of this event, they belonged to the human camp within this galaxy and had always occupied a weak position. When the Prada people captured angels as research subjects, they had dared to be angry but not speak out. After the Angel War broke out, many angels had been unable to throw themselves fully into the war because of their circumstances. Now, as Candidate Saintesses of the Church of Time and Space, they had finally experienced the Church’s power.

"So this is the avatar of the great Lord of Time and Space…?" A Two-winged Angel gazed dreamily at the towering figure in the sky and muttered to herself.

"Yes, this is the great Lord of Time and Space. So domineering, so powerful!" Another angel beamed and secretly made up her mind. In this competition, she had to strive for a good ranking and earn the great Lord of Time and Space’s favor. She had heard from other angels that the Lord of Time and Space’s favorability was related to the future opening of the Virtual Mall, as well as results in the War of the Saintesses and much more. But that was not the most important part—the most important thing was that his favorability could get her discounts when buying things in the Virtual Mall!

That was right, she had not misspoken. For the vast majority of angels, the greatest use of the Lord of Time and Space’s favorability was actually getting discounts on purchases. If Xiao Hen had known that this was the biggest purpose of his favorability in the angels’ hearts, he would not have known whether to be pleased or helpless.

However, he clearly did not know at this moment. His avatar stood proudly in the air, putting on an overwhelmingly imposing front as he said coldly, "The Prada Civilization has now abandoned darkness for the light and joined my command. Both their civilization and the angels of the endless spacetime planes are under my authority."

"We are willing to fight for the great Lord of Time and Space!"

Led by the Lion Emperor, all the Prada higher-ups present stepped forward and knelt before Xiao Hen, speaking respectfully.

"Mm. Rise." Xiao Hen nodded indifferently, and only then did the Lion Emperor and the others rise and withdraw.

"My lord is truly so handsome!" one angel could not help saying, her eyes gleaming with adoration.

"Indeed. As expected of the Lord of Time and Space!" another angel agreed.

Xiao Hen’s Divine Sense enveloped the entire venue, so he naturally noticed the angels’ reactions. He could not help feeling somewhat embarrassed inside, but his expression remained perfectly composed as he continued, "The reason I arranged this battle for the final battle of the Angel War is to see your potential. Do not disappoint me!"

"We will not disappoint you, my lord!" all the angels shouted.

"Then! Let the competition begin!"

As soon as Xiao Hen finished speaking, his figure flashed and turned into a streak of white light that vanished.

Xiao Hen had disappeared just like that, leaving as soon as he said he would. The people in the arena were left stunned, unsure what to do next. But it did not matter. There were naturally officials in charge of this competition, and the Prada people had already arranged everything.

A gaunt middle-aged man with rabbit ears leaped into the arena. His complexion was rosy and his eyes shone with delight as he said enthusiastically, "Thank you to the great Lord of Time and Space for his speech! Next, we will proceed to today’s competition!"

"Who’s that?" one angel asked, baffled.

"No idea. He seems like a commentator! No, he should be the referee, right?" another angel said uncertainly.

"He’s the referee. Mm, and a part-time commentator!" A Four-winged Angel who seemed well-informed chimed in from nearby. "The Prada people arranged this."

"This… a referee arranged by the Prada people? Then during the upcoming competition, will he…" an angel said uneasily.

"Don’t worry. The Lord of Time and Space is watching this competition at all times. Even if they had ten thousand times the courage, they would not dare play any tricks!" the Four-winged Angel snorted. "Do not forget how the Prada Civilization submitted to my lord. They did not submit after merely saying a few words!"

"That’s true!" Recalling the Lord of Time and Space’s dominance, they realized that he had launched a war that swept across the galaxy and overturned a Level 7 Civilization merely for a few angels who had been used for research, forcibly driving the Prada Civilization to surrender. A person that powerful would not be easy to fool.

"Angels, please enter the arena!"

As those words fell, the 280 angels from all across the galaxy rose from the competitor stands beside the arena and piloted their mechas onto the stage. The arena was enormous. Even with mechas twenty-eight meters tall, it would not feel crowded with hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of them. After all, it had been built for large-scale battles between Mecha Divisions. More Prada Mech Pilots would be taking the field later, so the arena could not be too small.

The more than two hundred angels were of varying ranks. Although their Archangel Mechas were identical in design, the differences could be seen from their visible particle light wings. Two-winged Angels were the most numerous, followed by the stronger Four-winged Angels. Finally, there were the Six-winged Angels at the very peak, with only three of them: Ken, Angelina, and Nangong Xue.

"Next is the first round of the competition! Taking the field are the elite Mech Pilots of Prada’s Forty-sixth Legion, the War Tiger Mecha Division! Ninety percent of the pilots in this Mecha Division come from Prada’s Tigerfolk. They are famous for their savage combat style, so angels, be careful!" the referee, who also served as commentator, shouted. As his words fell, a two-hundred-meter-tall gate in one corner of the audience stands rumbled open. A series of clanking sounds rang out, and when they looked over, tiger-shaped mechas in pure beast form appeared in the arena.

"These… these are all Beast-form Mechas. I heard pure Beast-form Mechas are harder to control than Semi-beast Mechas, but their power is even greater. I never expected the Prada people to send out such a powerful lineup in the very first round!" The angels were immediately shocked, and some Two-winged Angels began worrying. "Can we beat these mechas?"

"Relax. Think about how we got here. Which person who made it here did not fight their way through all the way?" another Four-winged Angel said coldly. "You said it yourself—this is only the first round. There will be even stronger opponents later. If you are afraid, then apply to withdraw now, before the competition officially begins. You should know that this competition is fought without regard for life or death!"

"I…" The Two-winged Angel immediately blushed and fell silent.
