The Final Battle Begins

"This city will become Iron Man’s burial ground."

Original Sin said with a savage expression. His hatred for Iron Man ran deeper than anyone’s. That guy had not only ruined his plans time and again, but more importantly, had constantly humiliated his intelligence.

"Don’t underestimate the Space Lord. He only spent a few years rising from a mortal to a Creator God. That was nothing short of a miracle among miracles."

The Celestial Group shook its head and said, "Next, we need to continue building Yellow Sand City and make everything as perfect as possible. Only then can we defeat the Space Lord."

"Don’t worry, we won’t underestimate him. After all, we’ve already lost once."

Black Phoenix was unusually sane as she said, "Iron Man humiliated us like this. We’ll definitely make him pay."

"Very good."

The Celestial Group nodded and turned to return to the tall building in the center of the city. The building was nearly as tall as the sky itself, and accommodating the Celestial Group was effortless, even though it stood over four hundred meters tall.

Inside the building, the Celestial Group took a gray stone from its robes and placed it on the resurrected Black King. Black King greedily absorbed the stone’s power, his body becoming like a black hole as it frantically devoured the surrounding energy.

After a while, the Celestial Group moved the stone to Mastermind Jason. Jason had already been healed by the Celestial Group and was no different from an ordinary person. He was equally desperate for the stone’s power and absorbed it with all his might.

Unfortunately, the Celestial Group quickly took the stone back. This was the Original Mutant Gene, an extremely precious thing that could not be wasted.

The Celestial Group said, "You have great potential. After my cultivation, your strength has become infinitely close to Omega-level."

"Can’t we become Omega-level?"

Black King asked, "I feel like I’m only a tiny bit away."

The Celestial Group shook its head. "That tiny bit is an insurmountable gulf. Only a true Mutant God can create Omegas. No one else, including me and the Space Lord, can do it."

Jason was stunned. "Not even you? Weren’t mutants created by you?"

"Ten thousand years ago, we found a special gene fragment belonging to the previous universe. We found it interesting and decided to implant it into living beings to see what would happen."

The Celestial Group said, "In the end, we chose Earth as the testing ground. The first experiment failed. We stepped in and destroyed most of the test subjects, leaving only a small number alive.

"Then, we began the second experiment. This experiment successfully created mutants, but the initial mutants were rather low-level. We decided to wait and let mutants develop for a while.

"The mutants did not disappoint us. With such a vast population base, Omegas were born.

"Mutants were indeed created by our Celestial Group, but even we have not fully understood all their secrets. That is why we need test subjects."

"So that’s how it is."

Black King and Jason understood. If they were right, the stone in the Celestial Group’s possession contained the Original Mutant Gene.

It was worth mentioning that this stone was crucial to how the Celestial Group controlled Apocalypse.

At this moment, Black King thought of something and asked, "Wait, I remember Original Sin telling me that Apocalypse was the first mutant?"

"He was bragging," the Celestial Group said.

Black King and Jason were speechless. Apocalypse really cared about saving face. Black King said regretfully, "If we can’t become Omegas, we can’t deal with Iron Man. It seems Iron Man can only be handled personally by you, Celestial Group."

"The Space Lord is powerful, but I will win."

The Celestial Group’s voice was calm, yet filled with confidence. It was not lying. This time, it alone had returned, but it carried more than one source of power.

The mutants would definitely belong to the Celestial Group.

Time flew by, and three months passed in the blink of an eye. That morning, after eating a breakfast that was not lavish but was delicious, Wang Bert brought Professor and the others through space to the front of Yellow Sand City.

Looking at the earthen-yellow walls hundreds of meters high, Wang Bert said, "This taste is really terrible."

"Exactly. Even my taste is better than theirs."

Wade nodded repeatedly. Everyone looked at his red-and-black outfit with disdain. You had the nerve to criticize someone else’s taste?

"Space Lord, you’ve arrived."

At that moment, a group of phantoms appeared before Wang Bert and the others. They were the Celestial Group and its side.

Wang Bert swept his gaze over the phantoms and said, "Celestial Group, Original Sin, Black Phoenix, Apocalypse, Legion, Black King, Jason. You have a few fewer people than I expected."

"Ordinary mutants are useless against the Space Lord."

The Celestial Group said, "Space Lord, we’ll use one day as the limit. If you cannot break through Yellow Sand City within one day, you lose. Any objections?"

Wang Bert nodded. "No objections. One day is more than enough."

"Very good. Then the clock starts now."

The Celestial Group nodded. At this moment, Professor asked Legion and Jason, "Are you really going to follow the Celestial Group?"

Legion, who had inherited Professor’s handsome appearance, wore a melancholy expression as he said, "I don’t want to live anymore, but I can’t die on my own, so I chose to follow the Celestial Group. That way, you can kill me. Don’t hold back. Feel free to attack me."

Everyone was speechless. Black King even rolled his eyes. Are you sure you’re not an undercover agent sent by the other side?

Professor sighed. "I’ll do my best to fulfill your wish."

At that moment, Jason said, "Professor, I’m grateful for your help, but I must kill Iron Man, Wolverine, and Yuriko to avenge my father."

Wade cursed, "Are you insane? Your father turned you into an idiot, and you still want to avenge him? Without Iron Man, you might already be dead."

Jason said, "No matter what he did, he was still my father. Besides, I was the one who was wrong at the beginning."

Professor shook his head, unable to say anything.

At that moment, Cyclops shouted at Black Phoenix, "Black Phoenix, I’ll defeat you and save Jean."

"Your Jean is already gone."

Black Phoenix sneered. "And by the way, Jean only wanted Wolverine to save her, not you, because you’re boring as hell. Being with you has no excitement at all. Being with Wolverine is different. Every day is full of surprises."

Cyclops snorted. "I won’t believe your slander. In Jean’s heart, I’m the most important one."

Black Phoenix looked deeply disdainful. "What a pitiful man, living in his own lies."

Wang Bert said irritably, "Alright, the soap opera can stop now. Whatever you have to say, we can say it slowly after entering Yellow Sand City. Keep wasting time like this, and the Celestial Group might laugh itself to death."

"I do not possess the function of laughing myself to death. Space Lord, I’ll be waiting for you in the tall building."

After saying that, the Celestial Group dismissed all the phantoms. The siege battle had officially begun.

"I won’t say much to rally everyone. This time, we must win."

Wang Bert said to the crowd, and everyone nodded. Wade said, "Boss, there seems to be something wrong with the space inside the city. It’s sturdier than elsewhere."

"Your senses are correct. The Celestial Group reinforced the space inside the city. Traveling through space will require more power. Also, high-altitude flight is prohibited in this city."

Wang Bert nodded. Then, as he walked into the city, he said, "Don’t stray too far from me, or you might get transferred away."

Everyone nodded. This Lost City had no gate, and Wang Bert’s group entered without difficulty. Before them was a straight dirt street, with houses crammed along both sides. It gave off an eerie feeling.

Before they could get a good look around, Wang Bert suddenly vanished. Everyone froze. Just as they were about to search for him, the ground shook violently. Then, the surrounding houses seemed to come alive and rammed into them one after another.

"Slash."

Psylocke said nothing and immediately swung her blade repeatedly at the incoming houses. The houses exploded one after another, and dust surged into the sky, completely enveloping the surroundings.

Wade hurriedly shouted, "Everyone, be careful! There’s something wrong with this dust. I can’t sense any of you!"

The others were the same. Professor shouted, "Stay where you are. Don’t move around. If you encounter spatial turbulence, break through it immediately."

At that moment, all sound suddenly disappeared. Then, the earth moved rapidly as if it were alive, quickly scattering everyone throughout the city.

From the tall building, Wang Bert looked out at the swirling dust in the distance and nodded. "Not bad. They thought you would use spatial transfer, but you used Earth Transfer instead."

Earlier, the Celestial Group had used its ability to bring Wang Bert into the tall building. Wang Bert could have stopped it, but he had not, because the Celestial Group had been his target from the beginning.

"Space traps are there as well, but the first wave had to be an Earth Trap. Only then could we catch them off guard."

The Celestial Group glanced at Wang Bert and asked, "Aren’t you worried about your people?"

"They won’t disappoint me, just as I won’t disappoint them."

Wang Bert smiled. He was in no hurry to make a move because he had sensed a trace of Special Aura within the tall building.

This aura made the Mutant Gene tree in Wang Bert’s heart tremble constantly. Clearly, it was the "final one percent."

"The aura is too faint to complete the final one percent, but it’s not useless. I can analyze it and figure out what the final one percent actually is."

Wang Bert thought to himself. If he was right, this trace of aura was connected to the origin of mutants. In order to deal with him, the Celestial Group had truly gone all out.

The Celestial Group had no intention of beginning the battle immediately either. In fact, it had deliberately left behind that trace of aura. It knew very well that the Space Lord was only one final step away from becoming the Mutant God—the Original Mutant Gene.

Once Wang Bert sensed the aura of the Original Mutant Gene, he definitely would not leave easily. That would create a situation where soldiers fought soldiers, and kings fought kings.

The Celestial Group had tremendous confidence in the Lost City. Before long, all the mutants brought by the Space Lord would die. Then, it could lead Original Sin and the others in besieging the Space Lord.

More importantly, once all his subordinates died, the Space Lord’s mentality would definitely be affected. Under such circumstances, he would surely lose.

The Celestial Group thought to itself, The mutants will definitely belong to our Celestial Group.

Within the Lost City, after being scattered by the earth, Professor immediately controlled the surrounding magnetic field. Everyone felt it and ran toward the magnetic field.

At that moment, a large number of space traps exploded. There was spatial turbulence, Space Storms, Space Cages, Space Mazes… Wade and the others were temporarily trapped.

With their current strength, they only needed a few dozen seconds to break through these spatial obstacles. The problem was that a few dozen seconds were enough to accomplish many things.

Original Sin and the others appeared around Professor at the same time. Then, without wasting a single word, they all launched attacks at Professor.

Apocalypse’s earth dragon roar, Black Phoenix’s black phoenix, Original Sin’s fatal curse, Black King’s energy blast, Jason’s terrifying illusions—other than Legion, who did not move, everyone attacked, determined to kill Professor in the shortest possible time.

Wang Bert complained, "That’s excessive. So many ancient gods ganging up on a disabled old man. If this gets reported, it’ll definitely make headlines."

The Celestial Group looked at Wang Bert in surprise. At a time like this, he still had the mood to complain? Shouldn’t he be furious and alarmed?

The Celestial Group said, "The essence of tactics is using many against few. The Lost City exists for one simple purpose: to divide you."

Wang Bert rolled his eyes. "A Celestial Group like you is even playing tactics now?"

Within the Lost City, facing so many attacks, Professor smiled slightly and made no attempt to resist.

The next moment, Professor and his wheelchair were disintegrated by the black phoenix and vanished into the air.

Original Sin and the others were stunned. Something was wrong. Professor should not have been so calm. Black Phoenix sensed the area for a moment and said, "It doesn’t seem to have been a physical body."

Original Sin asked, "How could it not have been a physical body? Our spiritual senses couldn’t possibly be wrong!"

Black King shouted, "Forget that for now. Time is limited. Let’s hurry and kill the others."

Everyone nodded and traveled through space to deal with their next target. This time, they chose Wade.

It was worth mentioning that they had chosen Wade not because he was the strongest, but because he was the most annoying.

The moment Original Sin and Black Phoenix appeared before Wade, Wade immediately swung his sword through the air. Space shattered, and Apocalypse, Legion, Black King, and Jason were blocked by spatial turbulence, unable to reach Original Sin and Black Phoenix.

Legion switched to a cold and ruthless personality, then raised a hand. The spatial turbulence rapidly settled. In less than five seconds, they would be able to join Original Sin and Black Phoenix.

Original Sin shouted, "Something’s wrong. Black Phoenix, protect yourself!"

"What could possibly be wrong with one Wade?"

Black Phoenix smiled disdainfully. A phantom black phoenix suddenly appeared behind her. Then, the black phoenix beat its wings fiercely, sending countless pitch-black flames howling down toward Wade.

Wade ignored the flames. An Adamantium Longsword appeared in his hand out of thin air. Then, he shouted, and purple light flared across the blade. He slashed at Original Sin as if splitting heaven and earth apart, severing both time and space.

The blade strike reached Original Sin the instant it was unleashed. Original Sin himself wielded the power of time; otherwise, the moment the sword was drawn, he would have been cut in two.

"How can he be this strong?"

Original Sin’s expression changed drastically. Black Qi formed a figure before him to block the attack, while he himself traveled through space and retreated frantically.

At that moment, a terrifying magnetic field erupted from the blade. Original Sin was pinned in place, unable to move. Then, the blade flashed, and Original Sin was split in two.
