#678

The mind wants to ascend to immortality

Everything went smoothly, without any hindrance.

When Li Fan awoke from his seclusion, he had successfully broken through to the Nascent Soul Middle Stage.

“It’s already been seventeen years anchored…”,

“After all, I only had the enlightenment pill to assist me, lacking the tianxuan mirror’s spiritual awakening effect, so it was quite a bit slower.”

He checked his own condition. The scale of the Five Elements Cave Heaven within his body had expanded by more than three times compared to when he was in the Early Stage of Nascent Soul.

The various Cave Heavens also became increasingly vibrant, unlike their previous deathly stillness. However, it was clear that there was still a long way to go before creations could emerge. It was just that the circulation of the Five Elements power had quickened considerably, as if something was brewing within the Cave Heaven world.

Now, Li Fan had achieved complete control over his Five Elements Cave Heaven and this Beast Seed Realm. One could say he was an existence similar to the Heavenly Dao itself.

But upon closer comparison of the two, Li Fan noticed many differences.

The Five Elements Cave Heaven was stolen from the Xuanhuang World. Although it was strengthened and integrated into his body using the New Law, just as a Mortal cannot fully control their own body, the operation and evolution of the Cave Heaven were mostly spontaneous actions of the Cave Heaven itself, a result of the self-derivation of certain Laws.

Although he could clearly sense every change occurring within the Cave Heaven, the current Li Fan was not yet able to fully comprehend them, let alone alter or create at will.

The Beast Seed Realm, however, was different. Wind, rain, thunder, lightning, ice, snow, flowing fire, and the concretization of the world’s Laws were all at his whim.

As long as Li Fan wished, the Beast Seed Realm could instantly be fixed in a single state and never change again. At the same time, Li Fan could also modify the Beast Seed Realm as he pleased. Raising mountains with a thought or leveling rivers with a thought were all commonplace.

“Under normal circumstances, even if one were to usurp all the Heavenly Fate of a Small World through some method, they wouldn’t be able to achieve my level of freedom in the Early Stage.

It would still require years of comprehension and resonance with the world’s Origin. But this process has already been completed for me by Little Black. I’ve merely inherited its mantle and taken a huge advantage.”

Li Fan looked at the familiar image within the Xuan Bird’s Feather in his body, and understanding dawned on him.

His attention returned to the Beast Seed Realm. Two years had passed, and it had undergone earth-shattering changes. Not only had the Spiritual Qi concentration soared to a level only slightly weaker than the Xuanhuang World, but the originally barren land had now become vibrant and full of life.

Various spiritual plants and herbs were being cultivated in categorized plots, and diligently working in the spiritual fields were indeed Beast Seeds. However, there was no “Beast Control Ring” on their necks, as Fang Zaiji had previously mentioned.

Li Fan’s Divine Thought swept across the entire world, and he found that only the most powerful few exotic beasts showed signs of being controlled.

“Controlling the top allows one to control the bottom. To deal with these Beast Seeds, it really doesn’t require much effort.”

Liu San and Fang Zaiji were not in the Beast Seed Realm at this time. Li Fan passed through the spatial passage and arrived in Chang Sheng Valley, only to find the two of them gathered together, seemingly discussing something.

Sensing Li Fan’s presence, both of their faces showed a hint of joy.

“Sect Master, you’ve come out of seclusion!”

“What happened? Why do your expressions seem a bit serious?” Li Fan asked, appearing before them.

“Congratulations, Young Lord, your cultivation has advanced again!” Liu San examined Li Fan and revealed a smile.

Fang Zaiji then directly explained to Li Fan the reason why he and Liu San were so grave.

About half a year ago, a group of Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance Cultivators, piloting the Puxian True Ark, arrived in the White Mist. At first, Liu San thought their target was Chang Sheng Valley and was on high alert. He even mobilized all Medicine King Sect Cultivators and was prepared to flee at any moment.

But soon, Liu San realized it was a false alarm. The Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance Cultivators didn’t stop at the entrance of Chang Sheng Valley; their destination seemed to be even deeper within the White Mist.

This made Liu San breathe a sigh of relief, believing that the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance Cultivators might have just passed by coincidentally.

However, what happened next made Liu San realize he was greatly mistaken. In the past half-year, every now and then, dozens of Puxian True Arks filled with Cultivators would sail deep into the White Mist. They seemed to be carrying out some kind of mission, exuding a faint aura of solemnity.

Occasionally, Cultivators would also retreat from the depths of the White Mist, looking dejected and downcast.

The general cultivation Realm of these Cultivators was not too high, but for safety’s sake, Liu San did not probe them closely, only observing from a distance.

Although these Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance Cultivators’ target was not the Medicine King Sect, their frequent passage was too concerning. No one could guarantee that by coincidence, they wouldn’t discover the location of Chang Sheng Valley. And if they did, whether they would come into conflict with the Medicine King Sect.

Therefore, during this period, Liu San and Fang Zaiji had been on edge.

“Is this a secret operation of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance, or is it a high-profile action? Do ordinary Cultivators of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance know about this?” After hearing their report, Li Fan’s eyes flickered as he immediately asked.

“Ordinary Cultivators, however, are unaware of this. At least, that’s what we’ve gathered from our inquiries,” Fang Zaiji replied.

Li Fan pondered for a moment, then said, “This matter is a bit strange. Let’s adapt to changes by remaining unchanged. After I go out and ascertain the truth, we’ll make a decision.”

Having great confidence in Li Fan’s abilities, the two immediately agreed.

Afterward, Liu San took out twelve jade bottles and handed them over: “These are the Medicinal Pills I’ve refined during this period. Nine bottles, totaling eighty-one Longevity Pills, two bottles, totaling twenty Supreme Heartless Pills. And one more…”

Liu San paused, his expression somewhat peculiar: “It is the [Mind Ascension Pill].”

“Thank you for your hard work, Old Liu.” Li Fan put away the other Medicinal Pills and held the jade bottle containing the Mind Ascension Pill, intending to open it and examine it.

But he was suddenly stopped by Liu San.

“Is there something wrong with this Medicinal Pill?” Li Fan asked with a frown.

Liu San gave a bitter smile: “Although this Medicinal Pill is not poisonous, its actual harm is no less than any poison in the world.”

“The Mind Ascension Pill is a peculiar Medicinal Pill that has a very small chance of being produced during the refinement of the Supreme Heartless Pill. Any Cultivator who consumes it will experience the illusion of comprehending the Great Dao and being on the verge of Immortal Ascension,” Fang Zaiji then explained.

“Moreover, the more one consumes, the stronger this illusion becomes. Until finally, to experience the taste of Immortal Ascension, those addicted Cultivators will do anything.”

Li Fan subconsciously clutched the jade bottle in his hand tightly.

He knew what this so-called Mind Ascension Pill was.

“In the past, because this Medicinal Pill once caused great trouble, it was absolutely forbidden under the rule of the Immortal Dao Ten Sects. However, our Disciples inquired around, and it seems the current Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance has not heard of this Medicinal Pill being forbidden.”

“I thought this item might be useful to the Young Lord, so I didn’t destroy it,” Liu San said.
