The More You Think About It, the Scarier It Gets

Although that guy made no attempt to attack, as superheroes who were constantly in danger, neither of them dared to lower their guard.

Moon Knight in particular found that the more he looked at the other man’s Bird-Beak Mask, the more he thought he resembled Khonshu. Anyone dressed like that at a time like this was surely no good person.

"Who are you? I’ll only give you one chance to answer!" Punisher aimed his submachine gun at the man’s head and barked in a low voice.

"Calm down, Frank. And Marc, or whichever personality you are. I’m not your enemy. On the contrary, I’m here to save this universe that is about to perish." Zhang Ye raised his head, the firelight reflecting off his lenses and making him look eerie and terrifying.

Moon Knight and Punisher exchanged a glance, then fixed their eyes on Zhang Ye again. Their weapons remained tightly gripped in their hands. Clearly, Zhang Ye’s words had not eased their vigilance.

Zhang Ye naturally understood that the two men before him were not the sort to trust others easily. If he had a choice, he truly would not want anything to do with them, but he had no choice. The doubts in his heart could only be answered through these two.

"Let me introduce myself. You can call me Witch Raven. I am a traveler from another universe. What you do not know is that an extremely dangerous existence is gradually driving your universe toward destruction. I am here to help you."

"Hah, what bullshit!" Punisher sneered. "I don’t think we need any help, and Deadpool doesn’t count as any kind of threat. Don’t feed me that bullshit about the universe ending!"

"Wait." After thinking it over, Moon Knight quickly stopped Frank. He hesitated for a moment, then lowered his weapon and looked directly at Zhang Ye. "What do you mean by this extremely dangerous existence?"

"Unfortunately, I don’t know either." Zhang Ye shook his head before continuing. "Deadpool isn’t the key. Stopping him would be easy. Red Skull, Doctor Doom, and the others behind him aren’t the key either, because above them, there is an unknown existence."

After learning which universe he was in, Zhang Ye had not felt much of a sense of crisis. As a transmigrator, Deadpool Carnage Marvel Universe: Retribution had one enormous loophole: Zhang Ye had read this comic, and he remembered the password that controlled Deadpool.

So, in Zhang Ye’s eyes, the problem before him was simply to find Deadpool, say the code phrase to awaken him, and then let Deadpool slaughter the villains. Everything would end perfectly.

If Zhang Ye were still the man he had been before, he definitely would have done that. With Kara’s formidable combat strength, locating Deadpool would only be a matter of time.

Even if Kara could not find Deadpool, Zhang Ye could simply track down other superheroes, such as Hulk or Shang-Chi. They would gather together in the near future and fight the Deadpools whom the villains had transformed into Ultron.

But!

The current Zhang Ye was no longer the same as before. His magical training and prolonged solitary cultivation had brought considerable changes to his mind, especially in terms of intelligence and mental strength.

After a series of reflections and confirmations, Zhang Ye keenly detected a trace of unease that filled him with a sense of looming danger.

In Deadpool Carnage Marvel Universe: Retribution, the most horrifying detail upon reflection was Red Skull, who had not completely died in the end. This open-ended conclusion had sparked countless speculations.

One theory accepted by most readers was that Gwenpool had never escaped alive at all. She had died at the hands of Red Skull and Abomination much earlier, which meant Deadpool had never "awakened" from beginning to end.

He believed he was slaughtering villains, but in reality, he was still hunting down other superheroes, merely in a different way.

Zhang Ye actually supported that theory. It was hard to imagine Gwenpool monitoring beings on the level of Red Skull and Doctor Doom, then successfully escaping after being discovered. That was simply too unlikely.

But soon, Zhang Ye noticed another point that felt deeply wrong: the conversation between Doom and Magneto in the comic.

In the original story, after Gwenpool "awakened" Deadpool, he began massacring the supervillains who had conspired in the plot. Beneath Deadpool’s blade, almost no villain survived. One after another, they were found by Deadpool and brutally killed.

As one of the conspirators, Magneto was naturally on that list. His original cooperation with Red Skull had merely been intended to secure some benefits for mutants, but the out-of-control Deadpool now threatened every superpowered being.

Thus, in order to preserve mutantkind, Magneto did not choose to confront Deadpool head-on. Instead, he sat where he was and awaited death, giving Deadpool the locations of every villain. The conversation between Doctor Doom and Magneto took place before Deadpool arrived.

Whether Deadpool was still trapped in an illusion or not, and whether the locations Magneto gave him were villain hideouts or the whereabouts of other superheroes, Doctor Doom and Magneto had undeniably spoken before Deadpool arrived.

The content of their conversation was not complicated. Doctor Doom greatly admired Magneto and did not wish to see this ambitious man, who had led mutants in reform, die by suicide.

Zhang Ye could not tell how much of it was truth and how much was falsehood, but there was one sentence he could be certain of: Doctor Doom had used his powerful technology and magic to temporarily withdraw from the Earth Dimension.

Temporarily withdraw from the Earth Dimension?

What a joke. Who was Doctor Doom? He was the great God Emperor Doom. Would he really pack up and run away because of one insignificant Deadpool? With his abilities, even if he could not develop some machine to suppress the X-Gene, surely Deadpool could not threaten him.

The reason those superheroes were slaughtered by Deadpool could ultimately be summed up as being caught off guard. After all, Deadpool basically relied on sneak attacks to kill people. In a direct fight, as a human, he would have a hard time facing some powerful beings head-on.

But Doctor Doom could not possibly be ambushed. He had already confirmed Deadpool’s identity, so why would he fear that Deadpool, a mere tool, might turn against him?

Besides, if he could leave the Earth Dimension to take refuge, why not simply throw Deadpool into another dimension?

These questions had been lingering in Zhang Ye’s mind, leaving him unable to make sense of them. Of course, they were only speculations. Without evidence, Zhang Ye could not prove anything.

Until an accidental discovery made Zhang Ye take those unsettling doubts seriously once more.

That discovery was that the two temporal anchor points Miss Minutes had marked had inexplicably changed without affecting anyone at all. They had actually "detached" themselves from this universe.

And the locations of those two temporal anchor points—

Were the Hell Dimension and the Chaos Dimension!
