The Remarkable Effects of the Taiji Profound Crystal
"Your most important task right now is to rest well and recover your strength," Luo Wen said earnestly. "Although you won today’s battle, the consumption was considerable. The fourth round will move at a fast pace. If you want to keep advancing, you must ensure that you’re in peak condition."
Luo Feng nodded. Though his surface injuries had healed, he could feel that the law energy within his body had not yet fully returned to balance and needed more time to adjust.
"Doctor Eileen recommends that you rest for at least twenty-four hours," Luo Wen continued. "During that time, do not use any law abilities. Let your body recover naturally."
"I understand." Luo Feng nodded, then looked at Hong and Thor. "I’ll definitely come watch your matches tomorrow."
Thor grinned. "Don’t push yourself. Your health comes first. But if you can make it, I’ll definitely put on an even more spectacular fight for you!"
Hong remained as taciturn as ever, merely nodding slightly, though his eyes revealed his concern for Luo Feng.
Luo Wen checked the time. "It’s already late. You need rest. We’ll leave for now and come see you again tomorrow morning."
Luo Feng nodded, truly feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over him. Doctor Eileen had arranged a special recovery room for him. It was more spacious than an ordinary rest room and equipped with various energy-stabilizing devices and vital-sign monitoring systems. The walls were pale blue, while the ceiling contained a lighting system capable of simulating natural light, giving the room a peaceful, comfortable atmosphere.
"This room was specially designed to help injured law controllers recover faster," Eileen explained. "Energy-Stabilizing Crystals are embedded in the walls. They can absorb chaotic energy fluctuations from the outside and create a pure environment. The lighting system in the ceiling automatically adjusts its brightness and tone according to your vital signs, helping you enter the optimal state of rest."
Supported by staff members, Luo Feng made his way to the bed and slowly lay down. Although the treatment pod had repaired him, his body still felt weak. In particular, the moment he tried to mobilize even a trace of law energy, he immediately felt a stab of pain.
"Don’t try to use any law abilities." Eileen saw through his intentions and warned him sternly. "Your law meridian system is still in the recovery stage. Forcing it will only cause more severe damage."
Luo Feng nodded in understanding. "I’ll follow the doctor’s orders."
"Very good." Eileen smiled in satisfaction. "I’ve prepared three medicines for you: Energy Balancing Fluid, Law Meridian Repair Agent, and Mental Power Recovery Drug. Take one dose of each every four hours until tomorrow morning. If you feel any discomfort, call me at any time through the communicator by your bed."
Doctor Eileen pointed at the three bottles of medicine on the bedside table. They were blue, gold, and purple respectively, and each emitted faint energy fluctuations.
Only after confirming that Luo Feng was settled did Luo Wen, Thor, and Hong reluctantly leave. They promised to visit Luo Feng immediately after their matches tomorrow and to remain in contact through the communicator at all times.
At last, Luo Feng was alone in the room. He felt an unprecedented weariness and calm. The tension of battle and the pressure of law fusion had finally been released. Every cell in his body seemed to be screaming for rest.
Following Eileen’s instructions, Luo Feng took the first dose of all three medicines. The blue Energy Balancing Fluid was icy cold when it entered his mouth, yet it turned warm after flowing into his body, like a gentle stream slowly washing through the chaotic energy within him. The golden Law Meridian Repair Agent carried a faint metallic bitterness and automatically sought out damaged meridians once inside his body, repairing them. The purple Mental Power Recovery Drug was fragrant, and after he swallowed it, his mind immediately became clearer as some of the tension in his spirit eased.
As the medicines began to take effect, Luo Feng felt waves of comfortable warmth circulating through his body. He gently closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind, allowing his body to recover naturally.
Yet scenes from the battle kept flashing through his mind. Especially that moment—when he fused Molt’s fire energy with his own gold energy and created the Taiji Profound Crystal. The sensation had been too wondrous, as though an entirely new door had suddenly opened before him, allowing him to glimpse deeper mysteries of the world of laws.
"Gold and fire may seem opposed, but they are actually connected," Luo Feng murmured, his thoughts drifting back to that extraordinary instant.
Just as he immersed himself in the memory, something strange happened. The small box on the bedside table containing the Taiji Profound Crystal suddenly began to emit a faint glow. Golden and red light flickered alternately, as if responding to Luo Feng’s thoughts.
Luo Feng noticed the change and curiously reached for the box. When his fingers touched the crystal, a peculiar energy fluctuation entered his body and resonated with the chaotic law energy within him.
Even more miraculously, this resonance did not worsen his injuries. Instead, it seemed to help the energy within his body rearrange itself and become more orderly. Luo Feng could clearly feel that the flow of his Gold Law energy had become smoother, while his damaged law meridians had also begun repairing themselves faster.
"What is this?" Luo Feng stared at the crystal in his hand in astonishment. "Is it helping me recover?"
Following his instincts, Luo Feng did not put the crystal down. Instead, he gently placed it against his chest, closed his eyes, and tried to sense the interaction between it and the energy inside his body.
A miraculous scene unfolded. The crystal’s radiance grew brighter as golden and red light intertwined, forming a peculiar energy field that enveloped Luo Feng’s entire body. Under the effects of this energy field, the chaotic energy within him began adjusting itself automatically, forming an entirely new pattern of circulation.
This pattern was completely different from the circulation route of the Gold Law he had cultivated before. It was more efficient and more harmonious. It was as though he had found the optimal path for energy circulation, one that could both bring out the properties of gold energy and contain the vitality of fire energy.
As time passed, Luo Feng entered a strange meditative state. In this state, he seemed able to see the essence of laws more clearly. The Gold Law was no longer simply about controlling metal, but about fundamental control over the structure of matter. The Law of Fire was not merely the generation of heat and flame, but a principle of energy conversion and release.
As the essences of the two laws converged in Luo Feng’s consciousness, a completely new understanding began to take shape. This understanding surpassed the limitations of any single law and pointed toward a higher path of law fusion.
He did not know how much time had passed before Luo Feng awakened from that peculiar state. To his surprise, dawn had already arrived outside the window, pale morning light spilling into the room through the gaps in the curtains. He had meditated for an entire night, yet he did not feel the slightest exhaustion. Instead, he was full of energy and vitality.
Even more astonishingly, the law energy in his body had fully returned to balance, and nearly all his damaged law meridians had been repaired. At a normal rate of recovery, this would have taken at least three or four days, yet he had done it in a single night.
Luo Feng lowered his head to look at the Taiji Profound Crystal resting against his chest. It still emitted a faint glow, but it was much gentler than it had been the previous night, as though it had fulfilled some sort of mission.
"It’s incredible," Luo Feng murmured. "This crystal is not merely a physical fusion of two types of law energy. It contains some principle of law fusion as well."
At that moment, there was a gentle knock on the door. Doctor Eileen entered, ready to conduct her morning examination. Seeing that Luo Feng was awake and looked so well, she was visibly startled.
"Good morning, Luo Feng," Eileen greeted him. "It seems you rested well. Let me check your recovery."
Eileen took out a small scanner and performed a comprehensive examination on Luo Feng. When she saw the readings, her eyes widened.
"This… this is impossible," Eileen said in shock. "Your law meridian system has completely recovered, and your energy balance has returned to normal as well. At a normal recovery rate, this should have taken at least three or four days, yet you only needed one night."
Luo Feng hesitated for a moment before telling Eileen about the Taiji Profound Crystal. When she heard that it had glowed through the night and apparently accelerated his recovery, Eileen’s expression changed from surprise to deep thought.
"I’ve never heard of such a phenomenon," Eileen admitted. "But theoretically, it is possible. The crystal you created may not simply be a fusion of two kinds of law energy. It may have formed an entirely new energy state with certain self-regulating and balancing properties. When it came into contact with your body, it may have recognized you as its creator and automatically begun helping you repair your damaged law system."
Luo Feng seemed satisfied with this explanation. "That’s true. In my meditative state, I felt the energy within the crystal resonate with the energy in my body. It helped me rearrange the way my law energy flowed."
Eileen fell into thought. "This could be a major discovery. A fusion product of different law energies possessing the ability to heal its creator… it could have enormous potential applications in medicine."
After further examination, Eileen confirmed that Luo Feng’s injuries had basically healed. He only needed to rest for another half day before resuming normal activities.
"However, I still recommend observing for another day and not using your law abilities immediately," Eileen advised cautiously. "Although the data shows that you have recovered, this was an unconventional recovery process. There may be potential risks that we have not noticed."
Luo Feng nodded in agreement. "I’ll follow your advice. But I hope to go watch my brothers’ matches. Is that all right?"
Eileen considered it for a moment. "Yes, but make sure you do not overexert yourself, and do not use any law abilities. I’ll send a medical staff member with you, just in case."
Luo Feng thanked her gratefully and began preparing to watch today’s matches. He felt lighter and clearer than ever, as if he had undergone a complete transformation.
He carefully put away the Taiji Profound Crystal and placed it in an inner pocket close to his body. This crystal, which had seemingly been created by chance, had not only saved his life but might also have opened an entirely new path of cultivation for him.
When Luo Feng had finished getting ready and was about to head to the viewing area, his communicator suddenly rang. It was Luo Wen, informing him that today’s match schedule had changed. Luo Wen’s and Hong’s matches had been moved up to the morning, while Thor’s match had been delayed until the final match of the afternoon.
"Our matches are about to begin," Luo Wen said through the communicator. "How are you feeling? Do you need another day of rest?"
"I’ve basically recovered," Luo Feng replied, unable to hide the excitement in his voice. "Doctor Eileen has already allowed me to watch your matches, but she told me not to use any law abilities and to remain at rest."
"You recovered that quickly?" Luo Wen’s voice was filled with surprise. "According to Doctor Eileen’s estimate yesterday, you should have needed at least three or four days of rest."
Luo Feng briefly explained the unusual role the Taiji Profound Crystal had played in his recovery, as well as the new insights he had gained during meditation.
"That really is incredible," Luo Wen exclaimed. "It seems this crystal is far more valuable than we imagined. Once the matches are over, we need to study its properties properly."
"No problem," Luo Feng agreed. "I’m ready already. I’ll head to the viewing area and wait for you."
After ending the call, Luo Feng headed toward the viewing area under the escort of a medical staff member. When he left the medical zone, he ran into Thor, who was on his way to visit him.
"Feng!" Thor shouted in delighted surprise. "Why are you out here? Have you recovered from your injuries?"
Luo Feng briefly explained his astonishing recovery. "I’m basically healed, so I came to watch your matches."
Thor’s eyes widened in disbelief. "You recovered in one night? That Taiji Profound Crystal is really that miraculous?"
"Yeah, even I didn’t expect it." Luo Feng smiled and patted Thor on the shoulder. "Your match is this afternoon. Who’s your opponent?"
"A Law of Light controller from the Morning Star Empire." Thor’s expression turned serious. "I heard he has already mastered a special ability called Photoelectric Transmutation, which can counter my Thunder Domain to some extent."
Luo Feng nodded. "Photoelectric Transmutation is indeed troublesome. It can convert your lightning energy into light energy and weaken your attacks. But haven’t you and Hong been studying the complementary nature of light and electricity these past few days? Maybe you can make use of that."
Thor’s eyes lit up. "Right! How did I not think of that? If we can apply that principle of energy complementarity we discovered in battle, we might be able to turn the opponent’s light-based attacks into our own power and turn defeat into victory!"
The two chatted as they headed toward the viewing area. Although Luo Feng looked well on the surface, he had gone through an intense battle and an unconventional recovery process, so he was still slightly short of breath as he walked. Thor noticed and slowed his pace, checking on Luo Feng’s condition from time to time.
"Don’t worry," Luo Feng reassured him. "I really have recovered quite well. Besides, Doctor Eileen has already sent medical staff with me. They can handle anything in time if a problem arises."
Only then did Thor relax slightly. "That’s good. But you still need to rest. Don’t try to be a hero."
