The living beings on Earth had united as never before, creating a seven-colored barrier in outer space capable of sealing off the planet. Every living person was either a bearer or a candidate for a Lantern Ring. The power of the living was drawn out through the rings, taking on tangible form. Their resolve to fight the darkness had unleashed immense power from every living being on Earth. Groups of zombies were hurled out of Earth, but many Lanterns also died in battle.
