Thief Saint! The players in Sichuan are living in misery!
Qin Feng opened his skill bar.
He looked at the Assassin-class Anti-Stealth skill he had learned yesterday, 'Original Shadow Perception'.
It was a Legendary skill, and he had spent 100 Evolution Points yesterday to evolve it to Mythic.
Now that he had saved up 2000 Evolution Points, he could finally evolve it to Ancient-Grade.
— —
[You have consumed 2000 Evolution Points, 2 points remaining.]
[Original Shadow Perception (Mythic → Ancient-Grade): Assassin-class skill. The higher your Stealth Level, the higher your anti-stealth level! You gain a real-time 'anti-stealth level' that is 3 → 6 levels higher than your own Stealth Level.]
[Mythic effect: After seeing through a stealthed target, damage against that target increases by 40% → 60%, lasting for 20 → 30 seconds.]
[Ancient-Grade effect: After seeing through a stealthed target, it applies a 100% Stripping gauge to the target. While under the effect of Stripping, the target will completely lose their vision, hearing, sense of smell, sense of touch, and sense of taste.]
— —
Original Shadow Perception was originally a Legendary skill.
The initial effect of this skill was to allow Qin Feng to gain an 'anti-stealth level' equal to his own Stealth Level.
In other words, the higher his Stealth Level, the higher the anti-stealth level he would gain.
After evolving it to Mythic and even to Ancient-Grade, the Anti-Stealth effect became even stronger!
"My current Stealth Level is…"
Into Darkness (Mythic): Stealth Level + 14
Depth of Darkness (Mythic): Stealth Level + 7
Power Clown's Sonic Shoes (Epic-grade): Maximum Stealth Level + 5
Plus the 2 levels of Stealth Level from the 'Shadow' profession, that made for a total of 28 Stealth Levels.
Therefore, converting this to the anti-stealth level, it was 28+6, for a total of 34 anti-stealth levels!
"This 'Original Shadow Perception' skill book is inherently the strongest Anti-Stealth skill book for the Assassin class, and I've even evolved it to Ancient-Grade!"
"34 anti-stealth levels is already the standard for top-tier experts in the mid-to-late stages of my previous life!"
And when this skill evolved to Mythic, it added a damage boost effect against the target after seeing through their stealth.
Upon evolving to Ancient-Grade, it added an even more heaven-defying special effect!
"Directly applying a 100% Stripping gauge…"
"It means it directly makes all of the target's Superior Affix ineffective!"
"And while the target's Superior Affix are ineffective, they will also lose their five senses!"
Of course.
Although this effect is powerful, to trigger it, one must see through the target's stealth.
In other words, if the opponent isn't stealthed, the 'Original Shadow Perception' skill is completely useless.
In fact, Qin Feng hadn't originally intended to spend 2000 Evolution Points to evolve this skill.
But he suddenly thought of something else.
"Over at the Sichuan Ruins… besides the Big Eyes NPC, there is another NPC."
"Thief Saint William Scott!"
"He is a level 50 NPC with a 30 Stealth Level, who wanders year-round in the Wandering Spirit Dungeon beneath the Sichuan Ruins…"
The Wandering Spirit Dungeon is a Rage Zone located directly beneath the Sichuan Ruins, where the flow of Lifespan is maintained at one hundred times the normal rate year-round.
This dungeon area is extremely vast!
The monsters that spawn there range from level 10 to level 30. Because the monsters respawn relatively quickly, it is a treasure trove for leveling for many Sichuan players in the early to mid-game.
But in the Wandering Spirit Dungeon, there is a disgusting NPC that haunts the place…
That is 'Thief Saint William Scott'!
Relying on his extremely high Stealth Level, this NPC sneaks around, frantically stealing equipment and items from passing players, yet he has never been caught, causing countless Sichuan players to curse.
If one were to ask which NPC Sichuan players hate the most, Thief Saint William Scott would definitely rank first!
It wasn't until several years later that the Sichuan Government dispatched several top-tier experts who, through special Anti-Stealth means, finally saw through this NPC's stealth!
After seeing through his stealth, as long as one could deplete half of his HP, they could 'invite' him back to the Hideout, where he would provide two types of services.
One of them is the ability to purchase the 'Thieving Saint Talisman'.
This item can be used on players; it is a one-time-use item, and each time it is used, it can randomly obtain an item from the target's storage backpack…
Although this theft effect can be resisted by the 'Invulnerability' affix, it is still very disgusting.
The other service is the ability to learn an Inferior skill, 'Thieving Saint's Hand'.
This skill can be used on monsters and BOSSes, allowing one to steal four-dimensional attributes!
Of course, because it is only an Inferior skill, there is a limit to the attributes it can steal, but by the mid-to-late game, players who have learned this skill generally have base attributes that are one or two hundred points higher than other players!
"In my previous life, this NPC was strictly controlled by the Sichuan Government."
"I only got the chance to learn this skill because I performed meritorious service, and it even cost me five hundred years of Lifespan…"
"But in this life, I have 'Original Shadow Perception', and my anti-stealth level can see through this NPC right now!"
If it were only one or two hundred attribute points, it would be just average for Qin Feng in this life.
But the key is…
'Thieving Saint's Hand' is a skill!
Its Inferior quality limits the cap on the attributes that can be stolen.
"If I were to evolve it to Mythic, or even a higher grade, how would you deal with that?"
Even Qin Feng didn't know what kind of effects this skill would have if evolved further!
If Qin Feng hadn't obtained the 'Original Shadow Perception' skill, and hadn't evolved it to Ancient-Grade, even if he could see through 'Thief Saint William Scott''s stealth, it would be very difficult for him right now to deplete half of his HP and invite him back to the Hideout.
However…
The Ancient-Grade effect of Original Shadow Perception, with its 100% Stripping and five-sense deprivation, created the perfect conditions for Qin Feng!
"As it happens, I also don't know the exact location of the 'Eye of Knowledge' right now."
"Currently, only the Shudao Mountain Guild should know."
"It wouldn't be appropriate to just go and ask, so since that's the case, I'll use dealing with this 'Thief Saint' as a trade!"
On his upcoming trip to Sichuan, if everything goes smoothly, Qin Feng will be able to 'beat back' and 'scold back' two NPCs, and both of them are NPCs with significant utility.
Thus, Qin Feng opened the private chat window with Wan Ye Wei Yu.
He asked her to communicate this matter with the people over in Sichuan…
…
"Hurry, hurry! They say Shadow is coming to our Sichuan."
"The Guild Leader says he's coming to deal with that thief; is that for real or what?"
"Who cares if it's real or not, let's go follow and take a look."
"Let's go, let's go, I'm going with the Guild Leader."
"Don't bump into me!"
"A little bump won't kill you, why are you being like that?"
"Get lost, don't touch me!"
In the Sichuan Ruins, the Shudao Mountain Guild channel suddenly became lively.
The players were fired up!
You have to know…
The Shudao Mountain Guild is one of the top guilds in the Sichuan region, and the Wandering Spirit Dungeon area is currently the best leveling area, bar none!
But…
It just so happens that there is a 'Thief Saint' in that area!
To level up faster, they have to hide all their valuable items before going to the Wandering Spirit Dungeon to level up. Whenever they encounter a BOSS, after defeating it, they still have to live in fear, immediately taking their loot back to the Hideout to store it.
Even so, people often have good items stolen by that NPC, making everyone miserable and living in torment!
Under these circumstances…
The global number one, 'Shadow', who is already famous all over the world, says he is coming over to deal with that thief NPC for them—how could they not be excited?
"However…"
"Shadow's Stealth Level is high, but how is his anti-stealth level?"
"That NPC has at least a 10 Stealth Level! We once opened a Diamond-Grade torch from a wild treasure chest that had a 10 Anti-Stealth ability when planted on the ground, but our boss's underwear still got stolen, and we didn't even see a shadow of the person!"
"That's right, can that kid actually do it?"
