Throne of Illusion and Reality Silver Cluster: An Junxuan

Everything happened too fast. In the blink of an eye, Mercenary Tao had ended the battle.

It was only when Ling Xin was pinned face-down against the shattered ground that the excruciating pain of having her arm violently torn off finally reached her nervous system.

"Ah!"

Ling Xin screamed uncontrollably. It was not just pain, but fear, despair, unwillingness, and surging emotions that nearly overflowed from her chest.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck… fuck!"

Blood sprayed from her nose and mouth along with saliva and snot. She tried to get up, but a foot pinned her down. Terrifying strength utterly crushed her less-than-twenty points of Strength, leaving her unable to move.

Her left hand twitched instinctively, but a powerful impact struck in the next moment.

Bang!

"Argh! I didn’t use my ability!"

Ling Xin completely lost control, screaming like a madwoman. The violent impact blasted apart her left hand along with the ground, leaving only a small section of her arm dangling.

You have suffered an attack from a special ability. Based on your Spirit attribute, you may obtain the following information:
You have suffered an attack from Gaze of Arrogance. You have been affected by limb severance...

The Space Panel offered little information. Mercenary Tao even seemed to have significantly higher Spirit than her. She had no way to determine what type of Reincarnator Mercenary Tao was. No, more accurately, Ling Xin had already lost the ability to think calmly.

She could only scream wildly, venting her emotions.

She had barely survived that team battle through sheer luck and gone through every possible effort to obtain this Devil Fruit. She had not had enough fun yet, had not killed enough yet—how could she die here…

All kinds of frenzied emotions churned within Ling Xin, but having lost both arms, she had no strength left to resist.

"What do we do? One-Shot Soul has been killed too. Without his Stand control, we can’t possibly beat Mercenary Tao in close combat…"

Black Box spoke rapidly. Listening to Ling Xin’s screams, panic spread through his heart as well.

As Reincarnators of his own rank died one after another, the sense of foreboding in Black Box’s heart became overwhelming. Their group had all been fairly powerful in their respective mission worlds, which was why they could hunt other Reincarnators and earn Fierce Reputations.

But compared to a monster like Mercenary Tao, they were as weak as ordinary people. Black Box had seen it clearly: One-Shot Soul had not done anything at all before being instantly killed in a single blow.

Yet if he had faced One-Shot Soul’s disgusting Stand ability himself, then because he was not a Stand User, he would have had to avoid close-range combat instead.

"Heh, in the end, you’re nothing more than a group of Reincarnators at this level…"

A sigh came from in front of him. Contempt, mockery—the voice no longer bothered concealing its disdain for them.

Black Box turned around and saw the Reincarnator who had concealed his identity all this time, the only one he truly did not know, slowly pull back his hood.

Beneath it was a young man with black hair and a baby face. His short black hair was neatly trimmed, while one of his eyes was blue and the other gold. It was unclear whether he had deliberately made them that way through an avatar or possessed some special Pupil Technique.

Black Box frowned.

"You are…"

He had no recollection of such a Strong-tier notorious figure in the Space. Was he not a Reincarnator from the East District?

An Junxuan shook his head, then completely undid the robe around himself, revealing the white robe with black trim beneath it. The style of that clothing seemed strangely familiar to Black Box.

"You’re Black Box, right? Thank you for collecting some data for me during the earlier battle. In return…"

A bone-chilling fear suddenly rose in Black Box’s heart. He immediately realized what the man before him intended. With a tap of his foot, a pitch-black barrier emerged around his body.

The black barrier instantly sliced through the rooftop beneath him, and he dropped straight down through it.

At the same time, he spread his hands. The barrier inverted, Shamanic Power rose up, and he unleashed indiscriminate curses at the outside world.

"In return, I’ll let you die without pain. You won’t be tortured to death by Mercenary Tao like Ling Xin."

The calm voice continued to ring by Black Box’s ear. He turned his head, only to see the black-haired man step out of the air, less than a meter away.

"You…"

Pfft!

Pitch-black light bloomed, like a blade flash bursting forth.

In the next instant, warm blood sprayed out. The man coolly took a step to the side, and not a single drop of blood landed on him.

His right hand was coated in a black sheen. With two fingers held together like a blade, he had slit Black Box’s throat. The motion was no different from how Mercenary Tao had killed Xing Liu earlier.

Tap, tap, tap, tap.

Footsteps sounded outside the building. Without looking, An Junxuan knew that Mercenary Tao had arrived outside the pitch-black building, standing on the other side of a wall and facing him from roughly seven or eight meters away.

"Hey, hey, hey. Just what the hell have you been doing?"

Mercenary Tao’s voice was cruel and sinister. It was as though the sound itself were a venomous snake, seeping into every gap and constantly displaying its aggression, making people uncomfortable.

An Junxuan greatly disliked people like this. What he found even harder to accept was that he and other powerful Reincarnators could only apply on their own initiative and be assigned to the Silver Cluster, while there were reports that this madman, Mercenary Tao, had been issued an Emerald Invitation by the Assembly’s higher-ups.

It was a pass into the Emerald Cluster, the most talented cluster of Reincarnators under the Throne of Illusion and Reality, spanning all four regions of the Reincarnation Space.

Becoming a member of the Emerald Cluster meant that those powerful Reincarnators under the Throne of Illusion and Reality with ranks within the top ten believed Mercenary Tao could become a member of the Golden War Group and possessed the potential to become a Supreme Expert.

An Junxuan did not hide his jealousy at all, but what he found even more unacceptable was that Mercenary Tao had refused the invitation.

The thing he could only beg for yet never obtain had been cast aside like worn-out shoes by this madman.

"I deliberately left this bunch to you and gave you plenty of time to prepare. It wasn’t so you could kill them."

Bai Cangshu stood outside the wall, his voice calm. There was none of the anger or fury one might have expected, because he had already realized that the person standing inside the wall was likely the key factor behind the Space issuing this Deathmatch Task and bringing in this bunch of trash.

A Scarlet Drop Card produced by a sufficiently powerful Reincarnator was enough to make up for the worthless drops of those weaklings.

At Bai Cangshu’s current level, he even looked down on attribute extractions of one or two points. After two huge hauls of more than ten attribute points each, his greed was no longer easily satisfied.

He could sense that the human behind the wall was rapidly growing stronger in both aura and presence. The scale and speed were horrifying.

The sound of that person’s heartbeat and blood rushing through his veins was undergoing immense changes every moment.

What had been a babbling stream had now become as surging as a mighty river.

Bai Cangshu walked toward the wall step by step. The other party’s footsteps sounded in sync, and soon the two were facing each other with only a wall between them.

In the next moment, Bai Cangshu raised both hands.

Bang!

He threw a punch. The wall showed no change at all, but a surging force had already passed through it and erupted with a crash.

Boom!

The pitch-black building seemed to have had a massive bomb detonated within it, exploding violently. Fragments of wall, reinforced concrete, and countless pieces of debris shot toward the other side.

Boom!

Bai Cangshu’s expression shifted. An equally surging force came through the intact wall before him and struck directly into his body.

Bai Cangshu instantly slid backward.

This feeling… it was actually exactly the same as mine?!
