Transform into a Demon!

"Bollocks!"

A chill ran down Constantine’s back. Looking at the terrifying shadow in the darkness, he no longer had any desire to watch the show. He did not even know where he had tossed his cigarette.

The black mist was gradually vanishing—or rather, being swallowed by that enormous creature’s body. As the fog thinned, Constantine could clearly see the massive body covered in thick scales, glimmering amid the lingering ghostly flames.

Bat-like wings transformed into pitch-black shadows, like some ancient demon, evoking a fear carved into one’s genes. Dense lumps of flesh covered its bucket-thick arms, connected by scarlet blood vessels and secreting viscous fluid.

A foul stench wafted over. Constantine swallowed with difficulty. This was the first time he had seen the Seven Deadly Sins fused together with his own eyes, and those things seemed to have merged with whatever else was inside Zhang Ye’s body, becoming something even more horrifying.

Zhang Ye could no longer be called human. He looked as though every nightmare monster had been kneaded into an egg and hatched, a sight terrifying enough to make one’s heart tremble.

Silently, Constantine pulled a teleportation card from behind his back, ready to leave at the slightest disturbance.

At the same time, sensing the uncontrollable power emanating from Zhang Ye’s body, Constantine found himself thinking, If I teleport this guy in front of Darkseid and make them duke it out, whoever dies is the loser.

Yet as he silently watched the evil aura radiating from Zhang Ye—an aura even an ordinary person could see with the naked eye—Constantine felt that, without preparation, none of his current methods could possibly banish such a terrifying creature.

The two stood silently. Zhang Ye’s huge body crouched where it was, his back facing Constantine and concealing his face. Constantine did not dare make any rash moves either. For a while, they remained locked in a stalemate.

Watching Zhang Ye’s body continuously billow with black vapor, Constantine did not know how much time passed before he finally could not take it anymore and broke the silence.

".Um, are you all right?"

Upon hearing Constantine’s voice, the massive figure reacted.

Zhang Ye’s demonic body suddenly shuddered. At the same time, the fleshy tumors on his back and shoulders opened their eyes.

A terrifying pressure descended upon Constantine in an instant, and a sentence inexplicably appeared in his mind—You have disturbed the witch!

But in the next moment, Constantine snapped back to his senses and broke out in a cold sweat. He knew this was Mental Contamination, the bizarre power powerful demons used to control their believers and followers.

Without time to think further, Constantine activated the teleportation card in his hand without hesitation.

In an instant, Constantine’s body turned into a streak of light—

As though it had sensed something, Zhang Ye’s grotesque head turned. Four gemstone-deep pupils stared directly at Constantine, who was about to vanish.

Yet with that single glance, Constantine’s body, already transformed into a golden beam, began flickering irregularly. Then came a sound no human organ could possibly produce, and strange whispers shattered the flashing light.

The sound of a mirror breaking rang out. Drawn by some inexplicable force, Constantine’s body reformed from particles of light into flesh.

Opening his eyes and seeing that he was still standing in the same spot, Constantine froze.

Before Constantine could escape his confusion over why his teleportation magic had failed, Zhang Ye had already dragged his massive body over to him.

".How… do I… look… now?"

Constantine stood there woodenly without reacting. Only when the stench of sulfur and searing heat hit him in the face did he stumble several steps back and come to his senses.

"You, you, you…"

Staring in shock at the monster that could probably send eight heart patients to their graves, Constantine’s eyelids twitched nonstop.

He suddenly realized that the other party did not seem to intend to hurt him. It even kindly drew back the tentacles that kept stretching in every direction.

Gazing at Zhang Ye’s horrifying face, Constantine swore he saw a sly smile.

God knew how he had seen a smile on a mouth full of sharp teeth, but he could genuinely feel the other man’s delight and excitement.

"You succeeded?"

"More or less."

Zhang Ye blinked the eyes scattered across his body and curiously examined his thick arms. Though they looked a little disgusting, he did not find them disgusting in his heart—or rather, in his perception. He could not even smell the strange odor coming from his body.

Though the sight was deeply unsettling, Constantine had seen his share of grand scenes. He quickly recovered from his fear.

Pulling a cigarette from his pocket, Constantine slowly walked over and lit it against Zhang Ye’s spark-spitting knee. He took a deep drag, then slowly exhaled.

"I think I understand now how you got those strange energies in your body."

"Haha." Zhang Ye grinned, revealing a ferocious expression that could scare ten people into heart attacks. "I thought the process would be more difficult, but I didn’t expect those seven to come knocking on my door themselves."

Zhang Ye had never deliberately concealed his devouring ability. After all, he came from the Black Wizard tradition, and he did not think there was anything wrong with his way of gaining power.

"Then, can you change back? To be honest, you look quite imposing right now, but I’m British."

"Ahem, all right."

As Zhang Ye spoke, his enormous body immediately began shrinking at a visible speed.

The scales covering the outside of his grotesque wings rapidly fell away, turning to ash and vanishing in midair. The wings became skeletal frames and retracted into Zhang Ye’s back. The metal-cast exoskeleton swiftly sank beneath his skin, while his sharp claws returned to their original form.

His black hair swayed lightly. The extra arms broke down into black matter and transformed into Zhang Ye’s previous coat. As his deep purple skin returned to its normal flesh tone, countless twisted tentacles retreated beneath his trench coat.

In less than five seconds, Zhang Ye had changed from a vicious demon back into his previous appearance.

Elegantly placing the Helmet of Black King back atop his head, Zhang Ye smiled faintly.

"How about it?"

Constantine silently stared at Zhang Ye for a while, then nodded rapidly.

"Not bad. Now I have complete confidence in our plan."

"You trust me that much? Aren’t you afraid that the demons inside my body might control me and make me do something bad?" Zhang Ye folded his arms and watched Constantine with a light smile.

".We have fallen into darkness more deeply than ever before, Mr. Witch Raven."

Constantine sighed, then regained his self-assured smile.

"And darkness is the end of this world."
