#262
Trash Belongs in the Dump
"Meow!"
"Meow meow meow!"
The orange cat perched on Beckett’s shoulder raised its head and roared, seemingly imitating Beckett as it called out to Odin.
Behind Beckett, The Other swaggered along with a loudspeaker he had taken from Woz slung over his shoulder.
This was his job as a lackey.
"Beckett?!"
Hela, who was speeding toward the Bifrost, looked delighted. She glanced back at the Valkyries relentlessly pursuing her under Odin’s command, gritted her teeth, and increased her output once more.
Closer!
Closer!
As long as I get to Beckett’s side!
Her experiences fighting alongside Beckett over this period had given Hela immense confidence.
If it’s him…
Damn it!
It’s Beckett!
Beneath the stormy sky crackling with lightning and thunder, Thor, wearing a horse-faced mask and wielding Mjolnir from two thousand years ago, swung his hammer at once.
His pot-bellied body flashed past Hela like lightning, blocking her path.
Beckett had arrived exactly as recorded in the secret histories, but Hela had not suffered the nearly fatal injuries documented in the history books.
In the original history, Hela injured her mother Frigga, enraging Odin. He went all out and defeated Hela in an instant, leaving her with the most severe injury of her life.
When Beckett descended upon Asgard, Hela had been so badly injured that she was incapable of flying toward him on her own.
"Father—Odin! Listen, Hela must never reach Beckett’s side!"
The awakened Lord of Lightning descended from the sky with Mjolnir in hand. Flashing bolts of lightning immediately halted Hela’s advance.
The face beneath the horse mask was grim.
"He’s my child?"
Although Thor corrected himself in time, Odin still sensed his true identity through instinct and his unique power of perception.
Odin slowly took the Space Stone from his robes, his face filled with confusion.
Since when did he have such a grown son?
Back in his golden days, when he had been young and dashing, he had always taken precautions. There shouldn’t have been any illegitimate children.
"No."
"He protected me, Odin." Frigga recalled how Thor had caught Hela off guard and knocked her back with a hammer strike earlier.
The couple exchanged a glance. They already had an answer in their hearts.
"It seems our son has run into quite a bit of trouble."
Odin smiled and twisted the Space Stone in his hands.
Azure light surged outward from Odin, immediately flooding toward Hela, whose path Thor had blocked, and swallowing the ranks of Valkyries as well.
"Hela!!!!"
On the Bifrost, Beckett watched Hela vanish from his sight. His pupils suddenly contracted.
"His Highness Beckett, it is an isotope of the Infinity Stones. Analysis indicates that Odin’s Space Stone forcibly transferred Lady Hela out of Asgard."
Woz’s analysis appeared on the display over Beckett’s right eye, leaving him silent.
"Frigga, I’ll leave this place to you. I’m going to Midgard."
Odin, on the other side, paid no attention to Beckett’s arrival. What concerned him more was Thanos standing behind Beckett.
"I’ll be back soon."
If things were as he suspected, then Beckett’s appearance was merely a test by Thanos.
At this moment, Odin could not deal with that test calmly. He directly placed his trust in the Sorcerer Supreme Agamotto.
He could teach Beckett a lesson anytime, but Thanos… he would have to ask Agamotto to handle him with the Time Stone.
In these troubled times, he had no desire to clash head-on with Thanos.
"Damn it!"
"Thor, you idiot!"
"Do you even know what you’re doing?!!!"
After waiting so long, the melee between Beckett, Odin, and the Valkyries recorded in history never began. Unable to take the Energy Devouring Beast amid the chaos, Rocket Raccoon jumped in rage and could no longer suppress his fury. He pointed at Thor in the sky and cursed wildly!
"Do you think you’re the only one who has endured endless pain?!"
"Huh?!"
"I watched Groot turn to ashes right before my eyes! Ashes!"
"You think you’re shouldering responsibility? You don’t want your mother to get hurt? Bullshit! Who the hell do you think you are?! This was our last hope!!! All because of your momentary impulse!!"
"Now, everything we did was for nothing!"
"F**k!"
"F**k it all!!!!"
"I want to blast you to death right now, do you know that?!!!"
Nearly overwhelmed by despair, Rocket kept spewing obscenities. Thor silently endured it in midair, veins bulging on the hand gripping Mjolnir, yet he had no way to refute him.
History had indeed changed because of his impulsiveness.
Because he had not wanted his mother to be left with an ailment that could never be cured.
He had personally buried the entire tea—
Boom!!!!
A blond figure reached out, seized him by the throat, and drove him straight down toward the Bifrost!!!!
The crash of flesh against the bridge abruptly silenced Rocket Raccoon’s cursing.
"Was it you? You blocked Hela?"
After a moment of silence, Beckett raised his head again, his face cold as ice.
Crackle…
Lightning flickered in Thor’s eyes beneath the horse mask, and the thunderclouds high above struck down bolts of lightning at his command!
Boom!!!
Dust billowed as the orange cat fled.
Yet Beckett, who had effortlessly lifted Thor by the throat, was completely unharmed.
"It was me. Of course."
There was a trace of mockery in Thor’s voice. The next second, Beckett flung him away, and he smashed heavily into the Bifrost.
"Cough, cough…"
"Do you know?"
"I’ve actually always found you really annoying, Beckett."
Thor wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and rose from the ground, continuing to provoke the expressionless Beckett.
"In fact, I think I can defeat you now. Or rather, try to defeat you."
Mjolnir answered his call. Thor roared and charged at Beckett, only for his long-decadent, bloated body to be kicked flat by Beckett…
Rocket Raccoon stared in disbelief.
Was he crazy?!!
He had no axe, and his divine power had languished for so many years. What was he going to use to fight Beckett from two thousand years ago?!!!
"Hit me? With you?"
Boom!!!
A silver-white energy beam directly crippled Thor’s arms. Rocket Raccoon, stunned, suddenly saw the fallen Thor wink at him.
Following Thor’s hint, Rocket Raccoon looked over and saw the orange cat standing on tiptoe beneath The Other’s feet, swaying its head as it watched Thor get beaten.
Shock filled Rocket Raccoon’s eyes.
"Now!"
With a roar, the long-accumulated power of thunder erupted!
Dense lightning bolts rained down from the darkened heavens. Thanks to Hela’s actions two years before and after this moment, Thor had understood what his divine power truly was after abandoning Mjolnir.
"I’ll bear the mistakes I made myself!"
"I’ll stake my own life on it!"
Rumble!!!
Rumble!!!!
The dense lightning continued to fall without pause. The entire Bifrost—no, the entirety of Asgard—instantly descended into chaos beneath this abnormal surge of energy!
Heimdall, still recovering from his injuries, was awakened by the disturbance on the Bifrost and rose from the healing pool.
"Take this, Beckett!"
"This is the belated gift I have for you!!!"
Roaring, Thor’s upper garments shattered beneath the explosive energy as he charged straight at the blond, blue-eyed Beckett.
"Want to kill me?"
"You’re still far too weak."
"Since Odin doesn’t want to come out and see me, then I’ll beat him until he does."
Beckett brought his clawed hands together at his waist. Facing Thor’s life-staking attack, he neither dodged nor retreated, directly unleashing an energy blast!
"Trash belongs in the dump!"
Golden aura surged again as he poured out energy. The silver-white beam shattered Thor’s final defense and blasted him toward northern Asgard!
In that direction was a dump called Sakaar.
Tonight’s final round of drinking is over. The remaining payment has finally been signed…
Drinking-table culture is really awful????
At last, I can take the money home and have a good New Year (▽)
