Two Onee-samas

Only upon seeing the two energetic girls did Duke realize that today was July 20th, the official start of Academy City’s summer vacation—and the release date of the epic disaster blockbuster, "Elementary Schoolers’ Summer Vacation."

In fact, this movie had already premiered in China, next door to Neon Country, at the beginning of July. Its popularity remained sky-high, while the internet was filled with furious complaints.

"The enemy only has one tower left, but my teammates voted to surrender. Even ‘2012’ never made me feel this hopeless!"

"Hello, 110? The situation is already out of control… Yes, I need the Flying Tigers… Pfft, not Spirit Fox."

"Why is this terrible movie being screened for two whole months? Is this some domestic movie protection month?"

"My home has become a disaster zone. There’s wailing and shrieking all night long!"

"I paid out of pocket to send the little brats to cram school. Seeing their summer homework piled up like mountains finally put my mind at ease."

The entire nation mourned together, heads bowed in silent tribute!

According to unofficial sources, this incident of boiling public resentment would likely continue until the end of August. Major pharmacies all stated that they had ample supplies of fast-acting heart pills and sleeping pills, ready at any time for the frantic buying spree of netizens.

With the ranting over, back to the fast-food restaurant.

Uiharu Kazari, with a patch of green atop her head, clearly did not believe in so-called urban legends. She said bluntly, "Saten, stop looking at such boring websites. Urban legends are unscientific rumors. This is Academy City, after all. You can’t believe such attention-grabbing gossip!"

"Honestly, Uiharu, how can you be such a buzzkill…? How about this one? The ‘AIM Burst,’ which can raise your ability level once you use it. I heard even Level 0s can use it!"

The Storm Commander had yet to reach Level 6. Eager to become an esper, she enthusiastically browsed webpages related to AIM Burst, considering getting one for herself.

"How could an item like that possibly exist? It has to be a scam!"

Uiharu Kazari was speechless at her best friend’s love of gossip. Just as she was about to lecture her, she caught sight of Duke and Misaka 9800 out of the corner of her eye. Well, Duke could be ignored. It was Misaka 9800 she had noticed.

"Eh!?" Uiharu Kazari lowered her voice and said, "Saten, isn’t that Senior Misaka?"

"Huh, it really is!" The Saten Commander looked over and spotted the injured Misaka 9800.

"Senior Misaka seems badly hurt. She’s one of Academy City’s strongest espers. Did something huge happen?" Uiharu Kazari asked worriedly.

"Why not just go ask her?" the Saten Commander said carelessly.

"That wouldn’t be appropriate… Senior Misaka seems to have something on her mind, and she appears to be discussing something important." Uiharu Kazari pointed at Duke beside Misaka 9800. Dressed like a researcher, he easily gave people the impression that he and Misaka were discussing esper development.

"Then let’s wait until Shirai gets here. It’s almost the time we agreed on, so she should be here any moment. Besides, Senior Misaka is already here, but Shirai still hasn’t arrived. That doesn’t suit her style at all."

"Yeah, maybe something came up at Branch 177 and she couldn’t get away."

Duke’s ears twitched when he heard their conversation. He stood up directly and said to Misaka 9800, "We’ve eaten enough. Let’s go!"

Misaka 9800 did not object. Obediently standing up, she followed half a step behind Duke as the two walked straight out of the fast-food restaurant.

Only then did Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko realize something was wrong. Misaka Mikoto was far too strange today, practically a completely different person from the one they had seen before. After exchanging glances, they hurried out of the restaurant and ran headlong into the yuri pervert, Shirai Kuroko.

The three of them tumbled into a heap.

"Ow, ow, ow… What are you two doing?!" Kuroko complained to her companions after taking a fall.

"It was Senior Misaka. She was covered in injuries and was taken away by a strange guy."

Saten pointed toward the alley at the end of the street and shouted, "Over there! Senior Misaka can’t have gone far yet."

Misaka 9800 cooperatively turned her head. Her hollow eyes glanced at the three of them. Just as she was about to say something, Duke grabbed her and pulled her into the alley.

Kuroko sprang up from the ground and chased after them at top speed. But after turning into the alley, she found nothing there except a few trash cans.

The alley was less than five meters long, with sealed walls on either side. There should have been nowhere to hide. Yet her eyes could not be lying. Misaka Mikoto was not in the alley, nor was the strange researcher. The two had vanished into thin air.

Unwilling to give up, Kuroko searched back and forth with Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko. They felt along the walls for hidden compartments and even overturned the trash cans twice. In the end, Kuroko miserably discovered that her Onee-sama had truly disappeared into thin air.

Kuroko’s face was filled with despair. Recalling the way Onee-sama had looked back at them, she felt as if the sky were falling. Those hollow, numb eyes seemed to say that there was no longer anyone or anything worth living for. She had been so utterly despairing that she had not even cried for help.

"It’s over! Onee-sama was taken away by some mysterious person. She’ll definitely be locked in a dark room, tied up and hung from the ceiling, then XXed from the front, OOed from behind, and finally subjected to %&#¥%%… Hell… spi…" Kuroko knelt on the ground, imagining damp scenes of secret rooms, imprisonment, training, and loli play, along with Misaka Mikoto’s screaming, panting, and ruined appearance.

"I’m so jealous. Onee-sama would be so cute like that too, hehehe!" Kuroko’s excited face flushed red, and a blissful nosebleed flowed out. Three seconds later, she suddenly shook her head and shouted, "No, this isn’t the time for wild thoughts. Onee-sama is facing the greatest crisis of her life. Kuroko absolutely won’t allow it… Onee-sama’s chastity shall be protected by me, Kuroko."

The originally worried Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko were instantly pulled out of the moment. Kuroko had far too many things to mock; they were almost numb to it by now.

"Say, what are you three doing here?" Kamijou Mikoto, wearing Tokiwadai Middle School’s uniform, stood at the entrance to the alley and spoke unhappily. "You came rushing over without looking where you were going, and you ignored me when I called you. Especially you, Kuroko. I get the feeling you were thinking about something extremely disrespectful."

"Eh, Senior Misaka!?" x2.

"Onee-sama!" Kuroko pounced toward Misaka Mikoto in delight, but abruptly stopped in midair. She stared at Misaka Mikoto vigilantly and demanded, "No, Kuroko saw it very clearly just now. Onee-sama was covered in bandages and taken away by a strange researcher. You’re not Onee-sama. Who are you? Unforgivable! You impostor, how dare you pretend to be Onee-sama in front of me? You must have a death wish."

"Kuroko, aren’t you the one with a death wish?" Veins bulged on Misaka Mikoto’s forehead as visible black aura rose around her, lightning crackling around her body.

Bzzzt—

"Waaah—waaaah—"

Silver light filled the alley, accompanied by cries of pain and pleasure. Within the electric glow, Kuroko flailed wildly as her skeleton flashed in and out of view. At some point, Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko had put on sunglasses and silently watched the scene before them.

"Onee-sama’s loving lash… This familiar feeling… And that utterly decisive attitude whenever she punishes Kuroko… There’s no mistake. Kuroko could never forget it for the rest of her life… It’s really Onee-sama, not an impostor." Kuroko collapsed to the ground, exhaled a puff of black smoke, twitched her limbs twice, and died!

Five minutes later, inside the fast-food restaurant.

The four sat facing one another as Saten Ruiko recounted the entire incident without missing a word. "That’s what happened, so Shirai got so worked up."

"Someone who looks exactly like me, covered in bandages, and taken away by a strange researcher…" Misaka Mikoto tossed her hair and said incredulously, "How could something like that happen? Are you sure you didn’t see wrong?"

"No. Even if Uiharu and Saten saw wrong, Kuroko wouldn’t. Kuroko has long memorized that meager bust size by heart. It was definitely Onee-sama." After saying that, Kuroko suddenly sensed killing intent from Misaka Mikoto and quickly changed the subject. "Onee-sama, do you perhaps have a younger sister? A twin, perhaps?"

Without waiting for Misaka Mikoto’s answer, Kuroko sank into boundless fantasies again, revealing a lecherous grin. "Just thinking about two Onee-samas waiting to be conquered, Kuroko… Kuroko can’t stop herself…"

Bzzzt—

"Waaah—waaaah—"

Saten Ruiko promptly quipped, "Are you okay, Shirai? You already smell deliciously roasted."

"I’m fine… This is Onee-sama’s love for Kuroko. No matter how many times it happens, Kuroko can endure it." Half-cooked Kuroko sprawled across the table, letting out infatuated pants.

After getting nowhere, Saten carefully asked Misaka Mikoto, "Shirai does have a point. Senior Misaka, do you have a twin sister? They looked far too alike… Oh, I forgot to mention it earlier. She was also wearing Tokiwadai’s uniform!"

"I don’t remember having a sister, and Mom never mentioned one either." Misaka Mikoto had no clue. She made a joke, saying, "Maybe she’s a clone or something. This is Academy City, after all…"

Halfway through the joke, Misaka Mikoto froze. A scene from her childhood surfaced in her mind. To help patients suffering from muscular atrophy, she had provided a certain research institute with her DNA map.

"What’s wrong, Senior Misaka?"

"Ah! Oh!? It’s nothing… I just remembered something very important. I’m leaving first!"

"Hey, we said we were going to the arcade today."

"Sorry, I’ll treat you next time." Misaka Mikoto practically sprinted out of the fast-food restaurant. Intense fear wound around her heart. If Kuroko and the others had not been mistaken, then she might have made a terrible mistake when she was young.

I hope I’m overthinking this… Uneasy, Misaka Mikoto decided that she needed to investigate.
