Unable to Control Lightning?
"Alright, then let’s check out these three places first."
"Let me see if there’s any way for me to improve my strength."
Thor was also very interested when he heard Tony’s words.
There had never been only one way to cultivate and grow stronger. Although he did not have the Void blessing, he had Father’s blessing. Godly Power flowed within him, and he also possessed a divine body.
These could grow as well, though not as quickly as the growth brought by the Void blessing.
"Does the Void Cult have any places related to magic?"
Loki also had some thoughts after hearing Tony’s words.
"No. The Void Cult has places specifically for teaching people how to use Void Power, but nothing related to magic."
"And that place isn’t somewhere people can go whenever they want. Even Void Cult members must have joined the Void Cult for at least a year before they can go."
Banner immediately answered upon hearing that.
After the Battle of Xandar, he had decided to evolve his flying ability. Only after asking Kyle did he learn that Void Island actually had such a place.
Since Banner had answered, Tony did not add anything further.
Although Thor and Loki were their friends, they were not Void Cult members.
Tony was certain that in the future, the Void Cult would explore more advanced methods and techniques for using Void Power.
Those methods, which Harvey called Void magic, were advanced knowledge. By then, there would certainly be places specifically established to teach and learn Void magic.
That would give Void Cult members clearer directions for evolving and becoming stronger.
However, the Void Cult was still in its early stages. Everyone had yet to explore Void Power deeply enough, let alone delve into the more profound and mysterious Void magic.
Loki was somewhat disappointed to hear there was nothing, and much of his interest faded.
He also possessed some Godly Power, but compared to Thor, he had far less. Therefore, his main path toward becoming stronger lay in magic.
If the Void Cult had powerful people related to magic, or places where magic was taught,
perhaps he could gain some inspiration and experience from them and learn some entirely new magic. But since there was nothing, he really could only look around.
Afterward, the group first went to a high place in the Void Cult and looked down at the training grounds below.
Thor saw everyone trying different forms of attack, repeatedly striking chunks of mysterious black, gleaming metal, producing waves of clangs.
Others ran rapidly through complex terrain, clearing one obstacle after another.
These training sessions left injuries on their bodies, yet none of them seemed to care.
Thor was shocked. Before he could ask Tony whether these people did not feel pain,
he saw that the wounds on their bodies were slowly healing.
It was only because fresh wounds kept appearing that every one of them was covered in injuries.
Even Thor felt his scalp tingle at the sight of such regenerative ability.
"Ruthless."
Loki also watched their nearly self-destructive training. After pausing for a moment, he gave his assessment.
"This is only basic training."
"The purpose of training is to let us perfectly master the ever-growing power in our bodies after evolution."
"Banner and I train here from time to time as well."
Tony smiled when he heard Loki’s assessment.
"This is only basic?"
Thor was somewhat surprised by Tony’s words.
"The gravity chambers are the truly brutal place, where people train under different multiples of gravity."
"The athletic arena is the real testing ground for whether someone can truly control their own strength and speed with perfect precision."
"If you can control it perfectly, it’s a happy place. If you can’t, it’s an extremely painful place."
"After all, it’s a huge blow when others can do something but you cannot."
"Banner took quite a few hits there before."
Tony smiled and nodded slightly.
"Didn’t we agree not to bring that up…"
Banner looked helpless when Tony mentioned him.
When he first heard about the athletic arena, he had also been extremely interested and thought he would definitely shine there.
But after going there, he discovered that perfectly controlling every last trace of his power was truly difficult.
Fortunately, Tony had backed him up. Otherwise, after losing, he would not even have had money to treat others to a feast.
"Gravity chambers?"
"What’s the highest gravity multiplier there?"
Thor asked after hearing Tony’s words.
"It originally only went up to a hundred times gravity, but after my improvements, it can now go up to a hundred and fifty times gravity."
"Improving it any further would require large-scale reconstruction. For now, a hundred and fifty times gravity is enough."
"So there was no need to keep improving it."
Tony explained.
Harvey had been the one who asked him to improve the gravity chambers. Strictly speaking, even one hundred times gravity would be enough for Void Cult members for many years.
After all, even Kyle could currently only train under enormous loads in an eighty-times gravity field for a little over an hour each day. Any longer, and even his stamina could not withstand it.
Kyle was known for his strength and physical body, so there was no need to mention the other Void Cult members.
Therefore, Tony estimated that the current gravity chambers would last at least another decade or so.
"One hundred and fifty times gravity? Are you insane?"
Thor had originally thought increasing gravity by a few times would be enough. He had not expected Tony to casually mention a hundred and fifty times. His eyes widened as he spoke in disbelief.
"What’s so strange about that? The gravity building has different floors and separate rooms."
"The maximum is one hundred and fifty times, but that doesn’t mean the entire gravity building is at one hundred and fifty times gravity."
"You train gradually until you can move freely in a gravity chamber of a certain multiplier and complete more than twelve hours of training."
"Only then do you move to a higher-level floor for training."
Seeing Thor’s incredulous expression, Tony patiently explained.
"Twelve hours… Tony, what gravity multiplier can you train under now?"
After imagining it, Thor understood why the training grounds below were called basic training.
In a high-gravity environment, with even a few training-assistance tools added in, training for twelve hours would be impossible without sufficient stamina.
"I’m more focused on researching technology now, and my evolution path is not entirely focused on the physical body."
"So at present, I can only move freely under forty times gravity."
Tony answered.
His evolution path was evenly divided between Void Power and physical evolution, rather than specializing in one area.
However, he had already evolved more than three hundred times. While his physical strength was not the strongest in the Void Cult, it was still among the upper ranks.
Therefore, enduring training under forty times gravity was easy for him.
"What about you, Banner?"
Upon hearing forty times, a competitive glint flashed in Thor’s eyes. He intended to try it later, then looked toward Banner.
"As for me, I can currently train under seventy-five times gravity for ten hours."
"After evolving another twenty or thirty times, I should be able to enter the eighty-times field."
Banner answered with a smile.
"Go ahead and show off."
Tony rolled his eyes when he saw Banner smiling.
Banner had only evolved one hundred and forty-two times, yet he could enter gravity chambers with such high multipliers.
Banner’s starting point was truly extraordinary. He had evolved only half as many times as Tony, yet his physical body was terrifyingly strong. Even Kyle had to admit inferiority when he saw it.
Kyle could endure an eighty-times gravity field, but he had evolved more than three hundred times.
Banner had only half that number and was already nearly able to do it. Kyle had praised Banner more than once because of this.
The more times one evolved, the slower evolution became. So although Banner had joined the Void Cult later,
he might not catch up in total evolutions, but the gap would gradually grow smaller and smaller.
So once the difference in Banner’s number of evolutions was not too great,
the extremely high starting point Banner possessed would give him a ceiling far beyond that of the other Void Cult members.
"Eighty times… I wonder how much gravity I can adapt to."
After hearing the multiplier Banner could handle, Thor’s competitive spirit grew even stronger.
"Your body is strengthened by Godly Power. I remember it being quite impressive."
"But I suggest you don’t think about competing with Banner purely in terms of strength."
"After all, you are not known for your physical body. Your strength comes from your Godly Power and your ability to control lightning."
Tony saw that Thor wanted to compete with Banner, that physical monster. He was worried Thor would suffer a severe blow when he failed to reach the goal he had imagined for himself.
So Tony gave Thor an out in advance, lest Thor discover he could not compare at all and lose too embarrassingly to save face.
"I do rely on Godly Power, but my ability to control lightning mainly comes from Mjolnir."
Thor spoke after hearing Tony’s words.
"Without Mjolnir in your hand, you can’t directly command lightning?"
This was the first time Tony had heard Thor mention such a thing. He looked at Thor in disbelief.
"Yeah, you’re called Thor, god of thunder. Can’t you directly control lightning?"
Banner also looked at Thor with an incredulous expression.
"The method for controlling lightning is rather complicated. Without Mjolnir’s help, I can control lightning, but I can’t wield it freely…"
Feeling Tony and Banner’s gazes, Thor showed a somewhat embarrassed expression.
"Then work hard until you can wield it freely. Who doesn’t go from unfamiliarity to proficiency, then to complete mastery?"
Tony was speechless after hearing Thor’s excuse.
"Exactly. I couldn’t transform freely before either."
"Although the process of learning and mastering it was difficult, I can transform whenever I want now."
Banner deeply agreed.
"You’re called Thor, god of thunder. If you leave Mjolnir behind, do you stop being the god of thunder and become some god with another title?"
Tony looked at Thor and spoke.
