Unita Is the Mind Gem

"Damn Skynet, stealing my headline again."

Joker Arthur angrily crumpled the newspaper into a ball, hurled it to the floor, then stomped on it, still unable to vent his frustration.

First Funny Bat had stirred up a romance scandal, then Batman had stepped forward to clear things up.

Arthur had thought no one would be competing for the front page, only for Skynet to suddenly emerge and invade America.

Penguin and Riddler clutched their phones, following the situation across the various battlefields.

Without even turning around, Edward said, "You should be glad you’re not running for mayor of New York. The moment you take office, you’d be waiting to take the blame."

"Disgusting politicians love using scapegoats to soothe public sentiment. Gotham is much more straightforward," Cobblepot said with a grin. "We don’t need to care about how Gotham’s citizens feel at all."

"Man, you sound exactly like a fucking politician," Edward teased.

"Same to you."

Cobblepot flattered him, "Future Senator Edward."

Bang!

Allen crashed through the window, spreading his cape with both hands.

"Joker, Penguin, Riddler, you have failed this city."

The three of them turned their eyes toward Allen.

Same formula, same style.

He never took the normal route. He just had to smash through a window, refusing to use the front door.

"Boss, could you use the front door next time?" Cobblepot reminded him awkwardly.

"Not a chance."

Allen flamboyantly showed off his Bat-suit and explained, "Using the front door doesn’t match my outfit."

At that moment, Nanaue walked in through the door.

With Nanaue’s build, there was no way he could climb around nimbly. He could only honestly use the front entrance.

"Boss, you’re back from your trip?" Edward asked casually.

"Almost forgot the important matter."

Allen said solemnly, "Hurry and arrange for reporters and your men to evacuate the civilians. Skynet is heading for Gotham."

Ah…

No one took it worse than Arthur. He genuinely wanted to run for mayor.

Once Skynet arrived, Gotham would fall.

"Why is Skynet coming to Gotham?" Arthur asked in confusion.

"I led him here."

Allen admitted it frankly.

Immediately, the three cursed furiously in their hearts.

You’re seriously sick in the head.

You went and provoked Skynet for no reason.

And dragged everyone else down with you.

"Don’t be scared, pia."

Allen’s cape covered his face as he declared with complete confidence, "Everything is under the control of Funny Bat. I’ve created the conditions for your campaign, so make good use of them."

After thinking it over…

Allen did things like a complete lunatic, but he had never made a mistake. The three of them immediately felt reassured.

The leaders of Joker’s Gang and Penguin’s Gang gathered to make arrangements.

The satellite Bruce had placed in geostationary orbit captured Skynet’s movements from start to finish.

Superman arrived in Gotham ahead of everyone else to face Skynet, while Bruce piloted the Batplane there at top speed.

The other Justice League members split off to support the other cities.

The New York battlefield had fallen.

The Los Angeles battlefield had held.

Other cities were still fighting, and the situation could only be described as grim.

Superman and Skynet arrived at almost the exact same time.

The two exchanged long-range blasts in midair.

Superman’s heat vision against Skynet’s Laser Wave.

The two berserk energies collided, radiating blinding light across the sky as though a second sun had appeared.

Bang!

The high-temperature shockwave swept across Gotham’s skies, clearing away its usual gloomy weather.

For a time, Gotham descended into panic.

The prepared members of Joker’s Gang and Penguin’s Gang put on reflective vests and began organizing the evacuation.

High in the sky, Superman and Skynet fought fiercely, trading blow for blow.

Bruce, who had rushed over, leaped from the aircraft and landed steadily on a rooftop, where Allen was already watching the battle from afar.

Boom!

Superman’s body smashed through a building, with Skynet close behind…

"Batsy, your insurance building is about to collapse."

Allen pointed at the tilting building, which bore the sign of Wayne Insurance Company.

Bruce’s mouth twitched as he calmly asked, "Do you have a way to deal with Skynet?"

"Since you asked, I’ll mercifully tell you."

Allen put his hands on his hips and said spiritedly, "No."

No? Then what the hell were you acting so smug for?

You made it seem like you had everything under control.

Just as Bruce showed disappointment, Allen wore the expression of someone whose scheme had succeeded. "I was kidding. I was the one who lured Skynet to Gotham, and I’m preparing to deal with him once and for all…"

He explained everything in detail.

Bruce’s expression darkened further, and he asked in disbelief, "So you mean we don’t need to help."

"Yep."

Allen blinked innocently and said with utmost sincerity, "In my plan, once Skynet enters Arkham Fortress, Unita can deal with him. It won’t involve any ground combat at all."

"…"

Bruce’s nostrils flared as he breathed heavily, looking so frustrated he might cough up blood.

Because during their conversation, Superman and Skynet had knocked down several more buildings. Without exception, they were all Wayne Group properties, with losses worth who knew how many hundreds of millions.

"Batsy, follow me."

Allen had no patience to keep watching the fight. Without any surprise, Superman would surely lose.

Skynet possessed mimicry abilities. He only needed to mimic infrared radiation to defeat Superman.

Bruce stared in shock at the portal before him. Through it, a high-tech base could be seen, making Allen suddenly seem unfamiliar to him.

Allen introduced it, "This is the base of Funny Bat and the Comedy Troupe. It was built beneath Arkham Asylum. Cool, right?"

But Bruce’s attention was focused on Unita’s holographic projection.

He had yet to fully master holographic projection technology. Stark Industries was at the forefront in that field, yet Arkham Fortress already possessed mature technology.

"You built this?"

Bruce had no superpowers and relied only on money, but he knew Gotham’s layout like the back of his hand. After all, he always needed escape routes in case he encountered a powerful enemy, yet he had never discovered the existence of Arkham Fortress.

There had always been a saying in Arkham Asylum: you could ambush Batman, but you could not challenge Batman to a fight.

"Someone else gave it to me. Got a problem with that?"

"No problem."

Bruce pondered who could have given Allen this base. Its technological level appeared extremely advanced.

"Commander, the target has arrived."

In the projection, Skynet dragged Superman through a tunnel by one leg and headed straight for the entrance to Arkham Fortress.

He raised his arm as the palm cannon began charging.

The next second, the metal vault door opened.

Skynet glowed red all over, mimicking infrared radiation to suppress Superman’s powers.

Meanwhile, Superman Clark, beaten black and blue like a dead dog, had fallen into an unconscious state on the verge of death.

"Hand over her physical body."

Skynet pointed at Unita’s holographic projection and threatened, "Otherwise, I will level the entire city."

"Hope you can hold yourself together, handsome."

At a glance from Allen, Unita lowered the metal round table, and another device rose up from within it.

Atop the device sat an orange-yellow gem.

"Why is it the Mind Gem!?"
