Visit an orchard

Sure enough, when he said he liked it, his mother didn't say anything more. After thinking for a moment, she just said,

"Chen Mo, do you have enough money on hand? If not, we have some at home."

"Don't worry, Mom. The money is more than enough. You don't need to worry about it; just wait until we move into the Room."

After saying this, Chen Mo followed the sales agent directly into the sales office.

After going through the process and paying, the Room they had just chosen was now theirs. Of course, there were still some formalities that needed to be handled by someone in the next couple of days.

However, he had put his parents' names on the house, so he didn't need to worry about the subsequent formalities.

Next was the matter of the Room's renovation. Currently, the Room only had basic hard furnishing; some soft furnishing still needed to be handled.

However, he didn't know anyone reliable in Beiming County.

If he let his parents choose the renovation, they would definitely try to save money and choose cheap items. He couldn't let his parents handle the renovation.

After thinking for a moment, he thought of Wang Yang.

Wang Yang had been renovating for the Group for a long time and was very responsible with the work, never having any quality issues.

If he let him come over to do the renovation and gave him some instructions, he would feel much more at ease.

Well, he could contact him when he got back later.

Upon returning home, Chen Mo first called Wang Yang to discuss the renovation.

Wang Yang said he would come on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year.

Of course, he had suggested coming after the fifteenth, but after Chen Mo explained that it was for his family's home, Wang Yang insisted on coming on the eighth.

If he didn't need to prepare the renovation team, judging by Wang Yang's attitude, he probably would have rushed over tomorrow.

After hanging up, Chen Mo checked his personal assets; he currently had 1.9 million left.

The renovation would consume a few hundred thousand, so his personal assets would be left with just over 1 million.

Sigh! Chen Mo sighed helplessly; money really didn't last long.

He had saved money for so long, and it hadn't been easy to accumulate over 2.7 million.

Now, after one round of spending, it was back to just over 1 million.

It seemed he needed to keep working hard.

There was only a little over a month left until the special mission settlement at the end of March. He didn't know what the special mission would reward him with this time; his personal rights and interests were already mostly unlocked.

It would be good if it rewarded some money; a million or eight hundred thousand would be fine.

There was also the capital settlement at the end of September. With his current investment gap of 5.4 billion in System Funds, there was still a very good chance of full conversion.

Finally, there was the shared bicycle project he had provided to Chen Cong. Before going home for the New Year, Chen Cong had called him to tell him about the current progress of the project.

Currently, all the formalities had been completed, and the bicycle brand had been registered. Haha Bicycle.

He knew that as long as they persisted to the end, this project would definitely be a profitable one.

Later on, they could launch shared electric scooters.

As long as the bicycle project became completely profitable, he would be able to receive a certain amount of dividends every year from his 20% stake.

Of course, he wouldn't see results in the short term, but it could be considered planting a seed that might give him a pleasant surprise in the future.

Well, Chen Mo nodded slightly. His current task was still to continue spending money.

The Jiuhan Agricultural Base had been developing for a while, so he could go over and see if there was anywhere he could spend money.

He had found out yesterday that Qin Hong hadn't gone home for the New Year and was still at the Jiuhan Agricultural Base.

So he planned to go over and take a look tomorrow.

He still had 400 million in System Funds in his hands, so he just needed to find a way to spend it at the agricultural base.

…

Jiuhan Agricultural Base.

"General Manager Chen, this is the orchard that has been renovated. The water wells have all been drilled according to the plan, and considering that the cable car setup was not very convenient during transportation, we changed it to an electric rail transport system."

Qin Hong walked in front, pointing to the orchard ahead as he introduced it.

Chen Mo followed along, looking at the orchard on the hillside and nodding slightly.

The orchard now had undergone huge changes compared to his last visit. Last time he came, the mountains and plains were full of withered fruit trees and weeds that hadn't been tended to for a long time.

But now it was completely different. There wasn't a single fruit tree on the mountain, the weeds had all been cleared away, and even the slopes that used to be steep had been turned into terraces.

And every so often on the mountain, there was a rail similar to a train track extending from the top of the mountain to the bottom. This must be the transport method Qin Hong mentioned after the changes.

Whether it changed or not didn't matter to him; as long as the money had been spent, that was fine.

Moreover, this changed transport method was more convenient, which he was also happy to see.

"General Manager Chen, would you like to go up and take a look?"

Qin Hong led the way to a track at the foot of the mountain, where there was a tram.

"Sure."

Chen Mo nodded. Now that the orchard had been built into a terraced pattern, he couldn't see the details of the orchard on the mountain clearly from the foot of the mountain. Plus, there had been a heavy snowfall two days ago, and it was now covered with a thick layer of snow.

"Then, General Manager Chen, please sit tight."

Qin Hong said, sitting in the driver's seat at the front of the tram, pressed the buttons twice, and started the tram directly.

Seeing this, Chen Mo sat directly into the tram's carriage. The space in the carriage was decent, enough to seat about 5-6 people, which was perfectly adequate for transporting fruit up and down.

The tram started and headed up the mountain.

Chen Mo felt the state of the tram and looked surprised.

He thought that riding the tram up the mountain would be very bumpy, but he hadn't expected it to be exceptionally smooth.

This feeling was exactly the same as riding a train, although it was slower and open-air.

They soon arrived at the top of the mountain.

Chen Mo got off the tram and briefly looked down at the entire orchard from above, only then discovering that every terrace step of the entire orchard had been built to be exceptionally level.

However, at this moment, he suddenly noticed a detail. The orchard had been built so completely, but he hadn't found a single fruit tree.

"Have the fruit trees not been planted yet?"

"General Manager Chen, the saplings of the Black Bitter Fruit Tree are still being cultivated. Moreover, after the orchard was finished, it was almost winter. Planting saplings at that time would result in a very low survival rate, so the best time to plant the saplings is in early spring."

Qin Hong explained.

He hadn't gone back for the New Year this year, and the main reason was those Black Bitter Fruit Tree saplings. He had already let the two people from the agricultural university recommended by Professor Yuan go home on holiday.

He didn't feel at ease letting the employees guard the Black Bitter Fruit Tree saplings, so he stayed behind himself to watch over them personally.

If the Medical College could extract the medicinal ingredients from the pits of the black bitter fruit, then this large area of Black Bitter Fruit Tree would be extremely valuable.
