What a Pity

Afterward, Harvey transformed into the Black Robed Man right in front of Sonia.

His entire presence changed from solemn and sacred to chilling and terrifying.

However, compared to the change in his aura, Sonia tilted her head slightly, wanting to see what Mr. Kassadin looked like.

She discovered that beneath Mr. Kassadin’s hood was endless darkness, still making it impossible to see his true face.

Sonia was somewhat speechless.

Harvey, meanwhile, paid no attention to Sonia’s gaze. He registered a new account under Kha’Zix’s name, then connected to Light and Shadow, the bounty hunter intelligence website, for the first time in a long while.

He saw that the name ranked first on the bounty hunter leaderboard was God of the Void Kassadin.

When he clicked on it, he found a brief description of himself.

Who stood at the pinnacle of bounties? At the sight of the Void, all became empty.

God of the Void, an unmatched legend in the bounty world, a powerhouse who shook the Milky Way Galaxy, the nemesis of Calamity Monsters, unfathomably powerful, and the founder of the Void Cult.

He currently resided on Void Island near Starfall Harbor on Xandar and was presently retired.

Though the man had retired, the various members of the Void Cult under his name remained active.

At the bottom of Harvey’s profile, he found a team called the Void Cult, with a total of three hundred and eighty-seven members.

Harvey clicked into it and found his own name at the top, followed by the title of leader.

Below were all members. Among them, Renoli, Kyle, the Precognitor, and Lacey had all become Tier 3 Bounty Hunters.

The four of them had jointly completed more than one hundred and twenty-seven Tier 3 Bounty Missions. Their coordination was seamless, making them extremely efficient in combat.

They were often active around Xandar, and their place of residence was also Void Island on Xandar.

Aside from Renoli and the others, the rest of the members were basically Tier 2 Bounty Hunters.

"When did Renoli and the others become Tier 3 Bounty Hunters?"

Harvey looked at the list and asked.

"I believe it was eight months ago."

"At the time, Mr. Renoli even held a grand celebration that lasted a week."

"He invited nearly everyone on the island."

"That single feast cost Mr. Renoli more than three hundred million, making him much more obedient and low-key afterward."

"After Mr. Kyle and the others became Tier 3 Bounty Hunters one after another, they only held three-day celebration parties, spending around one hundred million. They didn’t dare make them last too long."

Although Mr. Kassadin’s appearance had changed, Sonia saw that his attitude and voice had not changed much. She breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile.

Hearing this, Harvey could imagine just how much Renoli’s heart must have bled upon hearing that he had to pay as much as three hundred million.

That amount was enough to buy a fairly inexpensive large Cosmic Battleship outright.

However, the four of them truly were capable. Three were superpowered individuals, while Lacey, after ruthlessly obtaining the Void blessing, had advanced by leaps and bounds in strength, and they had successively become Tier 3 Bounty Hunters.

When Tony had summoned them before, they had been fighting an unequal war. If the four of them had participated in a war where the two sides had originally been evenly matched, the situation would likely have become completely one-sided.

Harvey examined them one by one and discovered that the members of the Void Cult came from various planets throughout the universe, but not a single one was from Mogri.

This made Harvey somewhat curious about what those people on Mogri had been doing after receiving the blessing.

After all, due to Mogri’s environment, its inhabitants had average physical abilities far superior even to Xandarians with improved genes, so their starting point was also somewhat higher.

However, Harvey checked the news from Mogri and found no signs of them causing havoc anywhere, so he did not bother with them.

Afterward, Harvey opened the bounty rankings on the bounty hunter website.

He discovered that over the past two years, it was not that no Calamity-type missions had appeared, but that all of them had been completed by members of the Void Cult.

Moreover, every one of them had been accepted by the same person: Lacey.

Clearly, Lacey had figured out why he had initially accepted Calamity-type missions. After trying them herself and tasting the benefits of rapid evolution,

Lacey had accepted every Calamity-type mission.

Aside from Calamity-type missions, the other types of missions on the bounty board had also become pitifully scarce.

This made it far less easy for Harvey, who had originally wanted to find a few missions and go out for a stroll.

Harvey had also found it strange why so many members had recently been staying on Void Island instead of leaving, spending every day playing around the island as though they had nothing to do.

So that was why. There really were no worthwhile missions left to accept.

Harvey looked over the remaining Tier 3 escort missions.

The rewards ranged from several hundred thousand to one million per day. That was not exactly low, but completing such missions basically required providing protection for several days or even half a month.

If it were ten million a day, or at least five million, Harvey might consider it. But one million a day? Who did they think he was?

After looking over those missions with some disdain, Harvey directly changed back into Kassadin’s silver-robed, golden-armored appearance and lay down.

After Sonia saw Mr. Kassadin look through the various bounty hunter bounties, she had thought he was ready to depart at any moment. Yet she found that Kassadin had suddenly changed back.

"Mr. Kassadin, what’s wrong?"

He had even lain down as usual, making Sonia ask in confusion.

"I’m not going out. I originally wanted to earn some extra money, but I found that all the high-paying jobs were gone."

"The remaining ones all require me to act as someone else’s bodyguard. I don’t do those kinds of jobs."

Hearing Sonia’s question, Harvey casually replied.

"Then that really is a pity."

"However, the missions in the bounty world are basically being monopolized by the various members of the Void Cult."

"It truly isn’t easy to find high-paying missions that are both easy and enjoyable."

"Although you haven’t gone out, what they do will also enhance your reputation."

"So you don’t need to feel so unhappy."

Upon hearing that Mr. Kassadin was not going out, Sonia sounded regretful, but a smile appeared on her face as she softly comforted him.

It was also because the Void Cult’s reputation had grown increasingly great that planets everywhere had learned that the Void Cult was an emerging force.

Furthermore, with God of the Void Kassadin overseeing it, even the Nova Corps of Xandar did not dare take action against the Void Cult lightly.

That was why those clients hoped Mr. Tony could create even more advanced technology.

Generally speaking, unless a force was independent of Xandar, research and invention would be subject to certain restrictions.

Even if a genuine genius appeared, they would usually be directly recruited by the Nova Corps.

Seeing Sonia’s smiling face, Harvey knew that she was not actually regretful, but he did not mind. Staying on the island was quite nice too.

Sonia provided him with good food and drink every day. The only drawback was that he could not casually go out and meet people.

For some reason, Harvey found himself agreeing with the saying: Slacking off feels good for a while; slacking off forever feels good forever.
