What Adam Was Surprisingly Bad At…

"So, Eugene, my friend, what was it that even I wasn’t good at?"

The moment Eugene sat down, he heard Adam’s gentle voice.

"Cough, cough! Adam, calm down first! There are too many people here. It wouldn’t look good if we started fighting!"

Eugene’s huge body visibly trembled, and he hurriedly explained:

"You wouldn’t want tomorrow’s front-page headline to be ‘Why Was the Minister of Magic Publicly Beaten Up in Court?’ would you?"

"Don’t worry, they can’t see us. Why are you sitting so far away? Come closer."

Adam draped an arm over Eugene’s shoulder and pulled him closer in a seemingly friendly yet unmistakably forceful manner.

"Cough, cough, well… actually…"

Knowing that if he failed to come up with a convincing answer, he would probably suffer badly today, Eugene’s mind raced. Then, a flash of inspiration struck him, and he thought of something Adam was bad at:

"Dating! You’ve never dated before, have you?"

Well, damn…

Adam blinked. If it were anything else, even if Eugene had said having children, he could probably make one on the spot. But dating…

Fine. Across both lifetimes, he really had no experience in that area.

With his constitution in his previous life, he had never even considered such things. In this life, he had been charging ahead on the path of magical cultivation. On one hand, he had no time to think about it; on the other, he simply did not have the energy to pay attention to anyone else.

Besides, he was now guaranteed immortality, yet the method of anchoring it was not universally applicable. At present, the only way he could extend someone else’s lifespan was through the longevity potion made from the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Just imagine it: decades later, he would still look young, while his other half had gray temples and a face full of wrinkles…

At least, Adam, who had not fallen in love with anyone yet, found that thought terrifying.

Shaking his head at the frightening image, Adam admitted that he really could not handle this matter.

"Fine, you got me. I really don’t have any experience with that."

After saying that, Adam noticed that Eugene’s mood was a little strange. Was this…

"Oh? You’ve got someone? Since when?"

"How did you know?!"

Eugene’s eyes widened, then an irresistibly sweet smile spread across his face.

"It’s not settled yet. In a few days, when we have some free time, I’m planning to take Melissa to Nightingale for a drink, then confess to her."

Ugh, that stench of romance was strong.

Adam scooted farther away in disgust. Then he thought back on Melissa and realized he had no memory of her at all.

"Who’s Melissa? Is she from the Ministry of Magic?"

"No. I met her back when I was running the camp. She’s a very thoughtful girl, and she helped me a lot."

Eugene shook his head and explained:

"But she doesn’t want to enter the Ministry of Magic with the others from the camp. She plans to go back and run her family’s magical plant shop in Dorset. She joined us in the first place because the Death Eaters destroyed her family’s magical plant garden."

"Dorset… I remember Professor Scamander lives there."

Adam nodded, unable to suppress his curiosity for gossip.

"What’s she like? Is she pretty? Oh, right… how old is she?"

As he asked, Adam suddenly realized that in Britain, every young wizard with magic who was Eugene’s age or younger should have been at Hogwarts back then.

Setting aside the possibility that Eugene was criminal enough to outrage both gods and men and deserved to be dragged out, sliced into a thousand pieces, fed to dogs, and executed by cannon, Melissa had to be older than Eugene.

With that thought, Adam’s gaze toward Eugene gained a strange, indescribable scrutiny.

Well, well. You had been completely quiet during all those years at Hogwarts, you thick-browed, big-eyed fellow. So you actually liked older women?

"Cough, cough! She’s only two years older than me! She only graduated from Hogwarts last year!"

Eugene hurriedly clarified himself, then launched into a string of incomprehensible arguments—things like "two years older doesn’t count as old" and "what does true love have to do with age?"—which made Adam burst into laughter. The courtroom was filled with cheerful air.

It was fortunate they had psychological invisibility, or Bernard would definitely have thrown the two troublemakers disrupting the court out.

After they finished laughing and messing around, Adam prepared to leave. He had mainly come here to check on Bernard.

Ever since he was a child, Bernard had treated case files as children’s books. He knew perfectly well that his thoughts were extremely criminal and arrestable, but deep down, he genuinely hoped to create a highly law-governed world where the law could truly bring fairness and justice to everyone.

That awkwardness was exactly the same as his awkwardness about emotions.

So, just as Adam worried that Uther might suffer in a fight because the dueling techniques he had learned were too upright and proper, he also worried that Bernard might suffer during court proceedings because he was too upright and proper.

Yes, he was not worried Bernard was too criminal and arrestable. He was worried Bernard was too upright and proper.

Precisely because Bernard knew his thoughts were criminal, he deliberately demanded that he pursue justice in everything for the sake of his ideal world governed by law.

The result was obvious. Adam could always predict these people’s bad habits with perfect accuracy. Otherwise, how could he trap them so precisely every single time…

But with Eugene here now, he did not need to pay too much attention.

"A friendly reminder: have your girlfriend change jobs. If her family’s magical plant garden hasn’t been rebuilt yet, don’t rebuild it. If it has been rebuilt, sell it as soon as possible."

Before leaving, Adam gave Eugene a reminder.

In the near future, when the Ministry of Magic reclaimed economic authority from Gringotts, Adam intended to begin building his own capitalist empire at the same time and dump goods onto the Wizarding Worlds of other countries.

During that process, businesses involving the cultivation and sale of magical plants would undoubtedly be destroyed directly by Adam.

After all, even with large-scale cultivation, how could they offer more variety than Adam, who held the Tree Card and Flower Card and could casually create magical plants of every quality and variety? How could their output surpass Adam, who held the Twin Card and could produce goods by the thousands of tons?

More importantly, Adam’s production cost was a terrifying zero!

At this very moment, the Wizarding Worlds of every country had no idea that a terrifying shadow was slowly spreading over them.

Open the door, free trade!

"Uh… what are you going to do?"

Eugene froze after hearing Adam’s words, then nodded without asking further questions. Instead, he asked where Adam was headed next.

"I’m going to ask Professor Dumbledore and the others. I’m planning to make a trip to the Hanging Gardens Ruins. They seem to know something about that place."

It had to be said that the Hanging Gardens Ruins were probably one of the highest-level magic-related places Adam had encountered in this world, especially after learning that the Ministries of Magic across the entire world had found nothing there for so many years.

After becoming Hogwarts’s headmaster, Adam learned that magic had certainly been far more prosperous in the era when Hogwarts was founded.

And what lay hidden within the Hanging Gardens Ruins should be an even older, more powerful mystery. Adam could not help growing curious about it.
