Wholesale “The Way of Erik”
The warriors on the other side froze, then erupted in wild delight. They were about to earn a great achievement!
The leading warrior grinned at Erik. "So, His Majesty Killmonger, are you planning to abandon the darkness and turn toward the light?"
They had all studied together with Erik, so they knew his level very well. They were all at the First Heaven. Even if ten of them attacked one person, they would have no chance of winning!
What’s more, they had armor. You… huh?
"Y-Your armor is…" the leader stammered, already gripped by an ominous premonition.
"Oh, this is Vibranium Magnetic Armor. It’s more useful than Strong Magnetic Armor and can raise a Magnetic Field Warrior to the Fifty Heavens!"
Erik spoke casually. Then he reached out and grabbed the leader’s arm. With a light tug, he tore it off as easily as tearing apart a fried chicken leg. The so-called Strong Magnetic Armor was like paper, completely useless.
"Ah… attack! Quickly!"
The leader let out a miserable howl and hurriedly retreated. But he was an elite warrior, after all. Even while retreating, he managed to stay conscious and give the order to attack.
The other warriors quickly swarmed forward, unleashing all kinds of attacks at Erik.
Facing their attacks, Erik’s expression did not change. He did not defend himself, allowing the attacks to land on his body. Meanwhile, he took advantage of the time to move like lightning, tearing off an arm whenever he caught one and ripping off a leg whenever he grabbed one.
After one round of attacks, Erik’s astral energy barrier had not even broken, while the ten Magnetic Field Warriors had all become disabled.
How could they dare to keep fighting? While their armor was still effective, they turned and fled. But when it came to speed, they were even further behind Erik.
With his intelligence advantage, Erik had gained a huge upper hand. How could he possibly give them the chance to return and report what they had learned?
In moments, all of them had crossed the threshold of the "Way of Erik."
Erik casually tossed away their limbs, but he recovered the armor components that contained trace amounts of Vibranium.
There was not much Vibranium circulating in the outside world to begin with. Most of it had been stolen by Ulysses Klaue back then. Whatever could be recovered had to be recovered, so as to minimize the outside world’s opportunities to make use of Vibranium.
Erik returned triumphantly with his spoils and captives, while the heads of state from various countries, who had observed the battle via satellite, were all dumbfounded!
So far, Magnetic Field Warriors had been the pinnacle of military power in every country. They were stronger than any superheroes and more obedient, too. Most importantly, they took little time to train, produced quick results, and cost very little.
Although most people would get stuck at the Current Drive Realm and fail to advance, the armies of every country had enough personnel. Even after careful selection, quite a few would still successfully cross the threshold of Magnetic Field Rotation.
If the governments of the various countries had not deliberately restricted the spread of Ultimate Limit Qigong, the number of Magnetic Field Rotation warriors in the world could have multiplied dozens of times over by now.
Besides, even those in the Current Drive Realm possessed the strength of superheroes. The governments of various countries had assigned these people to police departments in different cities, making them an important force against supercriminals.
With these people’s strength, the police departments had finally broken free from the shadow cast by superheroes. They no longer had to rely on superheroes whenever they encountered a supercriminal.
But this situation probably would not last long, because many supercriminals had also come from Martial Arts Schools. Although the vast majority of entry-level disciples had been recruited by the militaries, major corporations, or large organizations of various countries, there were always people who disliked being restricted. There were plenty who became mercenaries or gang members.
In particular, many disciples who had previously been eliminated by the Martial Arts Schools had gradually crossed the threshold of the Current Drive over the years, becoming wild experts.
As a result, in the cities, scenes of people blasting each other with the power of the Current Drive appeared more and more often.
Worse still, it seemed to have triggered some kind of chain reaction. In many places, people were gradually discovering that large numbers of individuals had inexplicably awakened the power of Magnetic Field Rotation. Although they were all wild superpowered individuals who were usually stuck at the First Heaven, the mainstream experts of every country were also only at the First Heaven. Without the support of Strong Magnetic Armor 2.0, they probably could not suppress them.
When facing these wild superpowered individuals, the various countries generally focused on recruitment. After all, these were free henchmen handed to them at no cost. Anyone who refused was a fool. Only those who were truly unruly and strongly antisocial would be confronted by Magnetic Field Warriors and captured or killed.
For quite some time, Strong Magnetic Armor 2.0 had been sufficient. But today’s battle had finally jolted the heads of state awake.
Their equipment was already outdated!
It was time for another arms race!
The various countries hurriedly contacted Hammer Industries, hoping to obtain more powerful armor.
Ever since Ivan Vanko joined them, Hammer Industries had made considerable progress. They had thoroughly mastered armor technology and, on that foundation, developed Titanium Armor 1.0, which could amplify Magnetic Field Rotation to the Twenty-Five Heavens.
Justin Hammer once again promoted it to the various countries. He even produced a video recording of Titanium Armor 1.0 fighting Strong Magnetic Armor 2.0 to prove how advanced the technology behind Titanium Armor 1.0 was.
The various countries were quite satisfied, but they made one request: they wanted the armor to be sent onto the battlefield for a live combat exercise. As long as it could prove to be the most advanced armor in the world, they would be willing to discuss all orders.
Thus, Justin confidently provided the United States Armed Forces with ten sets of Titanium Armor 1.0. Then there was no "then." The entire force was wiped out once again.
The military had lost another ten experts at the Magnetic Field Rotation level, while Erik’s side had gained ten more fellow disciples who had embarked on the path of cultivating the "Way of Erik."
Titanium Armor 1.0 had died before it could even make its mark. Before it could enter mass production, it had already fallen behind the times and been eliminated.
Naturally, all of Hammer Industries’ orders fell through as well.
When the United States Armed Forces saw this, they decided that Hammer, the fool who had bought a counterfeit, was unreliable. They turned around and went back to the original creator, Stark Industries.
But they did not know that Tony had played a part in Erik’s conquest of Wakanda from the beginning. Tony certainly would not overthrow him now and slap himself in the face. Besides, Tony did not think handing Strong Magnetic Armor over to the military would be a good idea.
On top of that, Tony still believed that the military had been behind Justin Hammer’s acquisition of his armor blueprints. And a few days ago, Ultron had packaged up his and Banner’s research and given it away for free. That project had also belonged to the military.
With the new and old grudges added together, it would have been strange if he had shown the military a friendly face!
Faced with the military’s various probes and inquiries, he gave them only one reply:
"Send your Sentinel Robots into battle!"
