Zhang Ye’s Guess

After giving Pietro his instructions, Zhang Ye turned his gaze to Kara.

On a planet without kryptonite, Kara was absolutely a terrifying, planet-destroying level combatant. Zhang Ye had no doubts about her current strength. Even this planet’s so-called "gods" could probably only match her in a fight.

"Zhang, don’t worry. I can stay inside and behave," Kara immediately said when she noticed him looking at her. To her, going outside did not really matter. There was television and a computer here, so she could learn about those superheroes without ever leaving the house.

"No, you misunderstood. I actually hope you can go out and look around properly." Zhang Ye spread his hands.

The moment Pietro heard that, he became indignant. "Why? That’s not fair. Why can she go out and have fun while I have to stay home obediently, and even have to put on makeup whenever I go outside?"

"Because Kara is different from you. First, she’s an alien. If she wants to integrate into Earth society, she has to experience this planet’s civilization firsthand. That kind of social interaction can’t be learned online. Second, she doesn’t have a counterpart in this world, so as long as she doesn’t reveal her abilities, she won’t attract attention."

As he spoke, Zhang Ye turned back and smiled at Kara. "Don’t worry. It’s very safe here. Even if there are supervillains, I doubt they can hurt you. And if you really encounter danger, just make sure you stay safe and wait for the heroes to deal with it."

Kara gave an acknowledging sound and nodded. It did not matter much to her either way. Since Zhang Ye thought she should go out and explore, she was happy to accept the arrangement. Besides, she was not the type to sit still for long.

After briefly discussing things with the two of them, Zhang Ye declared the meeting over and returned to his room.

As for Pietro and Kara, they made a few minor disguises before heading out. Pietro had been unable to sit still for ages. Having finally arrived in a safe new world, he could not wait to play every game this world had to offer.

Kara, meanwhile, was curious about everything. Unlike Pietro, who was chasing after games, she wanted more to sample this world’s food and experience its local customs.

Zhang Ye had no idea that his two little companions had turned into an internet-addicted boy and a foodie girl. At that moment, he was sitting before the computer, searching for interesting events that had happened in this world.

Moving the mouse, Zhang Ye quickly found the information he wanted. Although this world had a large organization with a surveillance network like S.H.I.E.L.D., and Zhang Ye could not find certain classified records, there were major incidents even S.H.I.E.L.D. could not cover up. Those were precisely what Zhang Ye was looking for.

When he noticed that this universe’s Captain America had once been Falcon, Thor had become a female Thor, and Spider-Man had gained Miles Morales in addition to Peter Parker, he immediately identified this universe’s general setting.

This was likely a new universe Marvel had rebooted after Secret Wars, known as the All-New, All-Different Universe.

The core of this universe was still the pre-reboot 616 Prime Universe, but it had undergone earth-shaking changes. Not only had some heroes from the Ultimate Universe appeared, but the origin stories of most heroes had also been altered.

At the same time, this new universe’s main focus was "generational replacement." Many old heroes had successors, such as Falcon Sam Wilson succeeding Captain America Rogers, and Amadeus Cho succeeding Hulk Bruce Banner.

Beyond that, female heroes and lesser-known heroes had sprung up like mushrooms after rain. Among the most prominent were female superheroes such as Thor, Spider-Gwen, Captain Marvel, and X-23.

"So many superheroes. There are even spontaneously formed superhero teams in every state across America…" Zhang Ye rested his chin on his hand, frantically recalling the comic storylines he had read in his previous life.

As all sorts of information appeared on the computer screen, Zhang Ye’s brows gradually furrowed. To his surprise, there was plenty of information available online, but most of it concerned unimportant incidents.

They were mostly things like, "Which villain caused destruction again, then got defeated by so-and-so." Those were merely individual hero stories and offered Zhang Ye no help whatsoever.

Suddenly, an idea surfaced in Zhang Ye’s mind.

"Could I have arrived during the Civil War II timeline?" Zhang Ye murmured. His eyes gradually lit up. Looking at the information before him, the more he thought about it, the more convinced he became that he was right.

Although this world appeared very stable on the surface, with countless superheroes protecting people’s lives, Zhang Ye did not believe it was truly safe. Beneath that calm surface might lurk a devastating disaster capable of leaving everyone dumbstruck.

Before determining whether those disasters would occur, Zhang Ye could only be as careful as possible. It would be best not to draw anyone’s attention.

And after the emergence of the All-New, All-Different Universe, the first major event of great renown was undoubtedly Civil War II.

In that event, a superpowered individual capable of "predicting the future" appeared. Iron Man Tony Stark and Captain Marvel Carol developed differing opinions over how that ability should be used.

Captain Marvel hoped the heroes could use the predictive ability to prepare in advance and prevent disasters from breaking out, while Iron Man believed that this predictive power was not necessarily one hundred percent accurate, and that using it this way was highly unethical and unreasonable.

Their conflict continued escalating until, during a battle against Thanos, Captain Marvel’s lover and Iron Man’s close friend, War Machine Rhodey, was tragically killed. That became the fuse that ignited the civil war between them.

Later, the two each led a group of supporting superheroes into the second civil war among heroes. Many superheroes were killed or injured during the fighting, including Bruce Banner, whose head was blown apart by an arrow from Hawkeye.

In the end, the event concluded with Iron Man being beaten into a cripple by Captain Marvel, but the war’s far-reaching impact on the development of this universe was impossible to erase.

At that thought, Zhang Ye’s tense heart relaxed somewhat. Although the Civil War event seemed to have an enormous impact and had dealt a heavy blow to the superheroes of this universe’s Earth,

for Zhang Ye and the other two, it was good news.
