A Call from Another Time and Space, the Red Ball That Granted Wishes
"Dimensional reduction."
Guilliman, clad in azure battle armor, activated the dimensional ability within the Limit Engine.
Ripples of spacetime surged outward from him, rapidly spreading.
The spacetime ripples expanded at the speed of light, piling atop one another like a tsunami and forming crests of dimensional collapse.
Spacetime cascaded like a waterfall, recursively collapsing from three dimensions into two.
During the process, the collapsing spatial structure bloomed with resplendent light, breathtakingly beautiful.
The black hole formed by the dark planet Gylansfia was soon caught in it, collapsing along with spacetime.
Though the black hole’s gravity remained, it could no longer continue expanding.
Three-dimensional spacetime and two-dimensional spacetime were different.
Gylansfia could not keep expanding its black hole incarnation within 2D Space.
It was trapped.
Though not dead, it had become fish on the chopping block.
Guilliman then activated Spatial Cut, severing the gravity released by the dark planet Gylansfia.
"No!" Gylansfia roared.
It struggled desperately, trying to break free from the prison Guilliman had created.
But it could never manage it.
At last, Guilliman unleashed his Warp essence.
He transformed into a giant burning with the fires of vengeance.
He swung his sword, cleaving the black hole Gylansfia had become into two.
The leader-class monster was completely finished.
Dimentionalization was lifted, and spacetime regained its continuity.
The corpse of the dark planet Gylansfia also returned from two dimensions to three, but it had become countless fragments.
Those fragments swiftly froze in the void, becoming chunks of ice that drifted into the depths of the cosmos.
The other leader-class monsters also failed to turn the tide. They could not even escape.
The Root Destruction Bringer Zog was pierced through by Sanguinius’s spear.
Its enormous body erupted into blazing flames in the void, eventually burning to ashes.
Queen Monera suffered a crushing defeat at Lion El’Jonson’s hands.
She became the Lion’s first kill since arriving in this universe.
Her massive head, filled with despair and unwillingness, was severed and drifted into the depths of space.
Meanwhile, the other Primarchs and Primal Kong also defeated their powerful foes and claimed victory.
Before the Empire’s overwhelming offensive, the monster legion completely collapsed and was slaughtered without restraint by the humans.
Monster after monster was blasted into fragments, scattering through the void.
Some monsters realized the situation had turned bad and immediately turned to flee.
However, the Empire had no intention of letting them escape and promptly ordered pursuit.
The fleeing monsters were hunted all the way by human warships, Giants of Light, Astartes, ship girls, and others.
No one knew how many died or were wounded along the way.
Monster wreckage and fragments drifted everywhere along their route.
The scene was nothing short of horrific.
Raven did not join the pursuit.
He had never been interested in fighting and killing.
He headed for Spacetime City and found Alena.
With Alena’s and the Emperor’s help, Raven took control of Spacetime City.
Spacetime City’s architectural style was exceedingly ancient, and no one knew which era or civilization had created it.
There were many spacetime rifts within the city.
Each spacetime rift represented a parallel spacetime.
So long as enough energy was stored, one could tear open a designated spacetime rift, activate spacetime transport, and travel to other parallel dimensions.
"If this city fell into the hands of an ordinary person, it would count as a cheat."
Raven recalled the various novels he had once read.
Spacetime City was a bona fide cheat.
As he thought about it, an immature idea suddenly emerged in Raven’s mind.
Why not modify it and create something like a Main God Space?
He could become the unfathomable mysterious big shot those ignorant natives spoke of.
With Raven’s abilities, transforming Spacetime City into an infinite base would be effortless.
It would not only allow travel within individual universes, but also let people reach other universes, alter predetermined fates, and obtain rewards.
"These days, doing everything myself is exhausting. It’s time to hire people to work for me."
When it came to the most profitable business, there was no question that running a platform was the most profitable.
He could recruit a batch of unlucky people who had already died and give them reconstructed bodies.
Then send them to different universes to alter predetermined fates.
They could earn excess Origin Power for him.
When the time came, he could split the proceeds ninety-ten with those transmigrators. Wouldn’t that mean making a fortune while lying down?
The technologies those transmigrators obtained could also be used to strengthen the Empire. It would take off for sure.
As for whether those transmigrators would object to a ninety-ten split.
Raven had only one thing to say: take it or leave it!
Even for that ten percent, countless people would fight for the chance.
If you won’t do it, plenty of others will!
"I’ve fallen into becoming an evil capitalist."
Raven mourned the loss of his pure heart for a moment, then told the Emperor about his plan to see what he thought.
"Perhaps we should forget it." The Emperor hesitated for a moment before shaking his head. "Malcador already has more than enough work."
Malcador was already working himself to the bone, and the Emperor truly could not bear to burden him further.
"This won’t involve Malcador. I’ll handle it myself," Raven declared confidently.
"Uh!" The Emperor looked skeptical. "You said the same thing when you wanted to establish the All Heavens Administration Bureau."
"But after less than three days of work, you dumped everything on that Mechanicus Sage Belisarius Kohl and Malcador."
Raven became anxious the moment he heard that.
"Big Guy, what do you know? I was giving young people opportunities to improve themselves. Otherwise, when would Belisarius Kohl have ever risen to his current position?"
"The Empire is growing larger and larger, and there are more and more talented people. If we don’t give them opportunities, those talents will be buried."
Raven spoke with such conviction that the Emperor did not know how to refute him for a moment.
The main issue was that Raven would definitely be unhappy if he did refute him.
That would be even more troublesome.
"It’s settled, then. Once I finish setting up Spacetime City, I’ll find people to manage it. There’ll be absolutely no problem." Raven made the decision outright.
"Fine." Seeing Raven so enthusiastic, the Emperor had no choice but to let him have his way.
After persuading the Emperor, Raven turned to Alena.
"Alena, do you have anywhere to go?"
Alena shook her head. "My homeland has been destroyed. My parents and my people are dead. I don’t know where I should go."
"Then stay and help me." Raven extended an invitation. "I plan to completely renovate Spacetime City and turn it into an infinite base."
"You’ve lived here for so long and know it better than anyone. You’ll definitely be able to help me."
Alena thought for a while, then nodded.
"I can stay and help you, Mr. Raven."
Raven smiled. His body shone as a stream of Origin Power shot forth and entered Alena’s body.
Alena could clearly feel that both her body and her power had been enhanced.
"Consider this Origin Power an advance on your wages. Work hard. As long as you produce results, there will be even greater benefits."
"Also, I’ll find some people to keep you company. That way, you won’t be lonely here."
Just after arranging matters for Spacetime City, Waldo came to report that Keigo Masaki requested an audience with Raven and the Emperor.
As someone they had chosen, Raven and the Emperor had no reason or excuse to refuse him.
"Let him come," the Emperor said with a nod.
Waldo withdrew.
Before long, he led Keigo Masaki, Megumi Iruma, Daigo, Shin Asuka, and the others over.
After witnessing the Empire’s formidable technology and military power, the shock on their faces had never faded.
Beyond the fleets with terrifying firepower, the strength of its individual warriors was equally outrageous.
Every golden Adeptus Custodes Daigo, Shin Asuka, and the other Giant of Light hosts encountered along the way had made them feel an intense threat.
If they truly fought, even transforming into Giants of Light would leave them with only the faintest chance of victory.
Keigo Masaki, Megumi Iruma, and the other human leaders also grew increasingly uneasy.
When Raven and the Emperor had first appeared in their world and guided the development of their civilization, they already knew the two were far from ordinary.
But they had never imagined that Raven and the Emperor controlled a vast inter-universal empire.
Aside from Giants of Light serving them, they had also seen metallic lifeforms, aliens skilled in magic, and hellish demon armies emanating savage auras and the scent of sulfur.
Keigo Masaki’s group was brought before Raven and the Emperor.
"Mr. Raven, Your Majesty."
Keigo Masaki respectfully performed an Eagle Salute.
Behind him, Megumi Iruma and the other human leaders followed his lead and saluted.
Raven looked over the group and discovered that, besides Daigo, Shin Asuka and Gamu Takayama had also appeared among them.
Curious, he used the authority of mist to see how the two had become hosts.
Back then, with Raven’s and the Emperor’s support, humanity had mastered light like the ancient civilization and formed a Giant of Light legion.
From that point onward, humanity became aware of the existence of light and its power.
After Raven and the Emperor departed, all kinds of organizations sprang up like mushrooms after rain.
Those people used every possible method to excavate the light that might exist.
Through their efforts, Giants of Light such as Dyna, Gaia, and Agul were born one after another.
Dyna was light from the universe.
Gaia was Earth’s light, representing the land.
"Well, damn. The three great Heisei heroes are all here."
After learning the full story, Raven silently gave it a thumbs-up.
"You have done very well, Keigo Masaki."
The Emperor’s voice was full of majesty, matching the way his entire body was shrouded in light.
If he claimed he was not a god, scarcely anyone would believe him.
"All of this was thanks to your guidance," Keigo Masaki said sincerely.
"…"
The two sides spoke for a long time.
Keigo Masaki signed an agreement with the Empire on behalf of the entire civilization, declaring its accession to the Human Empire.
The Human Empire expanded once more.
The monsters fled in rout and were pursued for tens of thousands of light-years.
But the forces eventually withdrew.
The war was declared over.
With the Empire’s help, the people who emerged from the shelters began rebuilding their homes.
Humanity reclaimed its former colonies and expanded outward at a rapid pace.
The Human Empire dispatched Primarchs to clear out the remaining monsters and compress their living space.
The monsters were forced either to flee to the edge of the universe or escape into other dimensional spacetimes.
As for races that loved peace and posed no harm to humanity, they were permitted to remain in this universe after rigorous review.
But they also had to obey the laws and regulations established by humanity and become humanity’s vassals.
Thus, true peace descended, and people began living good lives.
One day.
Daigo, transformed into Tiga and traveling through the universe, suddenly felt an invisible force calling to him.
That force instantly carried him across endless spacetime and into another world.
The moment he arrived, he saw a terrifying monster wreaking havoc in a city in that world.
Without time to think, Daigo acted. After a fierce battle, he defeated the monster.
Before he could understand what had happened, he was suddenly sent back into the vast void.
"Something is wrong with this." Daigo immediately realized something was amiss.
He promptly went to find Raven and report the matter.
At that moment, Raven was busy leading people in renovating Spacetime City.
Surrounded by the Adeptus Custodes, he ate fries while urging the Mechanicus Sages to work.
He had the Mechanicus Sages use spatial cutters to demolish the decayed buildings.
They used liquid metal to reconstruct technological spires.
They also wove the spacetime rifts into a honeycomb-shaped transit matrix, turning it into a traversal platform.
Once the modifications were complete, he planned to travel around recruiting workhorses to cross worlds, making them toil away and earn cosmic origin for him.
At the same time, they would serve as scouts for the Empire’s conquests, gathering intelligence, changing predetermined fates, and creating the conditions for its descent.
"Another dimension? That sounds pretty interesting."
"Let me see what this is about."
After listening to Daigo’s description, Raven showed an interested expression.
As he activated the authority of Misty Space, special runes formed from mist appeared in his pupils.
In an instant, the threads of fate from countless parallel worlds unfolded within his consciousness, as clear and distinguishable as specimens on a dissection table.
Before long, Raven understood the full story.
Long ago, a human civilization in a parallel spacetime created a transcendent machine capable of granting wishes.
The transcendent machine took the form of a red sphere, also known simply as the Red Ball.
The Red Ball used human desire as its energy source.
To extract more energy, the Red Ball continually tempted its users, stirring up the deepest desires within them.
Because human desire had no end, users often destroyed themselves and their worlds through their own greed.
The Red Ball kept traveling through parallel universes, granting others’ wishes and leading those worlds one after another toward destruction.
Now, the Red Ball had fallen into the hands of a little boy.
Whenever monsters caused trouble, the boy used the Red Ball to make a wish, hoping an Ultraman would descend and protect the city.
That was how Daigo had been summoned there. After the battle ended, he had been sent back.
"This universe really does have plenty of good stuff."
The moment Raven saw the information on the Red Ball, he practically started drooling.
A Red Ball that could let people freely travel through parallel universes was unquestionably a treasure.
Once it was used together with Spacetime City,
his infinite base would be complete.
"Will the Red Ball destroy that world?" Daigo asked.
"It will. The Red Ball draws out the user’s deepest desires. Even a child can be driven to extremes and destroy the world." Raven nodded.
"Then what should we do to stop this disaster?"
Daigo looked anxious. In the previous war, he had already seen far too much death.
He did not want that world to be destroyed.
"It’s simple. We just travel over there and take the Red Ball away," Raven said.
