A Crushing Opening Blow
"Now that you’ve frightened my adorable students, are you ready to pay the price?"
After comforting the students, Mordo walked onto the field and spoke to the Frost Giants with icy coldness.
Unfortunately, the Frost Giants could not understand human language at all. With a roar, they charged Mordo viciously. All Earthlings deserved to die.
Mordo snorted and cast a spell with both hands, dragging all the Frost Giants into the Mirror Dimension.
Inside the Mirror Dimension were over a thousand Voodoo Corpses glowing green. The moment they saw the Frost Giants enter, they pounced. Before long, the Frost Giants had been torn into pieces.
Mordo nodded in satisfaction. Why had those warlords and armies disappeared? Simple—they had been refined into Voodoo Corpses by Mordo.
When Mordo returned to the real world, Spider-Man, Harry, and Mercenary Wade had already arrived. Wade said with a grin, "Looks like our Baron has already taken care of the monsters."
Baron was what the nearby warlords and dark forces called Mordo. They feared him immensely and automatically offered food and medicine every month.
That was why the school could afford to support so many students.
To the students, Mordo was an angel. To the warlords, Mordo was a demon.
Spider-Man could not help trying to persuade him. "Mr. Mordo, I still think turning corpses into Voodoo Corpses is too evil. Even if they were bad people, you shouldn’t do that."
"What’s the problem? As long as the goal is right, the method doesn’t matter."
Wade loudly retorted, "Without the Baron’s thunderous methods, how could the surrounding area possibly be this peaceful?"
"That’s wrong. Evil means cannot bring about justice."
"Who says? Once, I chopped off a scumbag’s head and threw it into a toilet. After that, his children grew up healthy and happy. A few years ago, they even sent me a postcard."
As expected, Spider-Man and Wade started arguing again. Although Mordo had been listening to this for over half a year, he still found it unbearable. Veins even bulged on his forehead.
Harry kept shaking his head beside them. These two super chatterboxes deserved much of the credit for Mordo falling to this state.
Mordo picked up the staff that represented demonic power and said coldly, "Enough. Guard the school. I’m going to support Kamar-Taj. It is my responsibility."
Mordo had picked up that staff long ago. Otherwise, there would not have been any Voodoo Corpses.
Before picking it up, he had hesitated endlessly. Afterward, he felt as though a burden had been lifted.
As long as the goal is right, the means do not matter. Master, is this what you wanted me to comprehend? I understand now. From now on, I will protect the world and Kamar-Taj from the darkness.
Mordo did not waste any words. He opened a portal and stepped through. Spider-Man watched his retreating figure and scratched his head in frustration, feeling as if he had somehow messed something up.
Wade, on the other hand, was quite pleased with himself. He said smugly, "I helped that guy see the light. Once the Blood Clan finds out, they’ll definitely reward me handsomely, right?"
Kamar-Taj’s auxiliary dimension was already at war by the time Mordo arrived. Magical weapons and high-tech weapons atop the walls fired frantically. Waves upon waves of charging monsters died, unable even to approach the walls.
Yet the monsters did not stop. They charged forward madly, their eyes full of greed—so long as they broke through that wall, they could enter Earth and feast on delicious life and souls.
Behind the monsters stood projections of Hell Lords. The Ancient One and Wang Bert stood on the wall, facing Them head-on. Both sides were building momentum, preparing for the final battle.
"Senior Brother Mordo is back."
At that moment, the sorcerers spotted Mordo and were overjoyed. Mordo smiled and nodded to everyone before walking up to the Ancient One and saying respectfully, "Master, I’m back. I understand what you wanted me to understand."
The Ancient One looked at Mordo with complicated eyes. You did understand, but the problem was that you had gone to another extreme.
"Deadpool!"
The Ancient One gritted her teeth slightly. She had calculated everything, but she had not expected that guy to appear by Mordo’s side.
That guy should never have existed in this world.
Wang Bert did not know all that. He was quite satisfied with Mordo’s change. This hidden danger could be considered resolved.
Now was not the time to persuade him. The Ancient One quietly sighed and said, "It’s good that you’re back. Go fight."
"Yes, Master."
Mordo nodded respectfully. From beginning to end, he did not spare Wang Bert a glance—he still hated Wang Bert. Wang Bert did not care; he had no need for Mordo’s support.
Next, Mordo walked up to Doom, whom he had once hated most, and asked, "Do you have any of the Blood God’s Extremis Virus? I need it."
Doom asked in surprise, "I do, but are you sure you want to use something like that?"
Mordo smiled. "As long as the result is right, the process does not matter."
Doom froze for a moment, then burst into laughter. "You’ve finally seen the light. How much do you want?"
Mordo glanced at the Voodoo Corpses in the Mirror Dimension and said, "More than a thousand doses."
"More than a thousand doses?"
Doom was stunned. Speechless, he said, "I’m not the Blood God. Where would I get that many?"
After a pause, Doom said with a sinister gaze, "If you don’t care about the users’ lifespans, I do have a way."
"They have no lifespans."
Mordo opened the Mirror Dimension for Doom to see. Doom took one look and, to be honest, even he was somewhat shocked. This was more than simply seeing the light—Mordo had practically gone completely dark.
Doom could not help laughing again. "I’m starting to like you, Senior Brother Mordo."
"I’ve also discovered that you’re rather likable."
Mordo laughed as well. Everyone looked at the two of them chatting so happily, utterly baffled. Weren’t they mortal enemies?…
London.
Earth had not been kept waiting long. Once the time came, the Dagger Battleship arrived—cloaked, of course.
Looking at the Blood God and its six escort ships above Greenwich, Malekith sneered disdainfully. "They actually left their warships floating so openly in the sky. They’re asking to die."
"Earthlings have no experience with space warfare, after all."
Ebony Maw sneered. "Hit the Blood God hard. Let him know he’s just a country bumpkin."
"Fine."
Malekith nodded and ordered the Dark Elves, "Quietly approach that Space Fleet from below. Charge the cannons and prepare to fire at any time."
"They’re here."
On the Blood God, Ivan stared at the Dagger symbol on the screen and shouted. Although he had not completely cracked the Dark Elves’ cloaking technology, detecting them was no problem.
"Good."
Wang Bert snorted and said to Tony and Reed, "Fire."
Dr. Richards said with a bitter expression, "Mr. Wang, are we really firing? While I admire your creativity, the Bifrost really isn’t meant to be used this way."
Wang Bert shouted coldly, "Dr. Richards, this is wartime. I don’t have time to waste on nonsense. Fire immediately."
"Yes. Coordinates locked. Bifrost, fire."
Tony tugged Reed aside and activated the Bifrost located on the Space Station. The next second, a seven-colored beam descended from the sky and smashed brutally into the cloaked Dagger Battleship.
The Dagger Battleship was immediately heavily damaged, its hull nearly blasted in half. Then, having lost power, it crashed down onto the field below amid flames and black smoke, kicking up dust across the sky.
Dr. Richards could not help shaking his head. Using the Bifrost as an offensive weapon was such a waste.
"Blood God, escort ships, attack."
Wang Bert gave another order. Korath and the others immediately activated the energy cannons, and more than ten enormous energy beams bombarded the Dagger Battleship on the ground. The Dagger Battleship exploded and caught fire repeatedly, while countless Dark Elves died on the spot.
Malekith was completely stunned. He had never imagined that he, who had come to ambush the Earthlings, would instead be ambushed by them.
I should’ve known better than to ride this piece of junk. Damn Blood God, does he want to take this chance to kill me too?
Loki was both shocked and enraged. The Earthlings were far too vicious, weren’t they? They had even replicated the Bifrost.
At that moment, five Chitauri battleships appeared in the sky. Seeing that the Dark Elves were in trouble, they immediately attacked the Space Fleet, which promptly turned its cannons to return fire.
With the Chitauri helping them, the Dark Elves finally caught their breath. However, after being battered repeatedly, the Dagger Battleship was already finished.
"Abandon the main ship! Board the Dagger Battleships and counterattack!"
Malekith shouted through gritted teeth. Just then, the blood inside every Dark Elf except him and the Cursed Warriors stopped flowing at once. They collapsed to the ground in agony.
Blood magic, Blood Control Technique.
The tactic Wang Bert and Tony had devised was simple: strike first and strike hard, taking down the dark allied forces as quickly as possible.
Ebony Maw sensed what was happening and shouted, "This is a special blood magic spell. Malekith, use the Aether immediately, or all your people will die!"
"I offer the lifespan of every Dark Elf for the next ten years in exchange for immunity to this blood magic for one month."
Malekith did not dare delay. He immediately activated the Aether. The Aether flashed, altering reality. Every Dark Elf instantly returned to normal and lay on the ground, gasping for breath.
Malekith roared, "Damn Blood God! The rest of you, board the Dagger Battleships and counterattack! Cursed Warriors, Ebony Maw, Loki, come with me and kill the human powerhouses!"
"Kill!"
Everyone roared and followed Malekith out of the Dagger Battleship. Standing on the grass, they loudly provoked the ships overhead.
"They actually broke my blood magic?"
Wang Bert withdrew his hand and said to Tony and the others, "I’ll take some people down there to deal with them. You handle the Chitauri and the ice and fire army that’s coming next."
Tony and the others nodded. "No problem. Leave it to us. We’re ready."
"Good."
Wang Bert said no more. He took Hulk, Elektra, Ghost Rider Damon, Electro, Human Torch, Thing, Absorbing Man, Alisa, War Abomination, and War Lizard, whom he had selected beforehand, and teleported below to face Malekith and the others head-on.
Ebony Maw shouted through gritted teeth, "Blood God!"
Wang Bert pretended to be shocked. "Ebony Maw? You’re actually not dead yet?"
Ebony Maw roared, "You’re the one who’s going to die."
"A defeated opponent dares boast? Since I could kill you once, I can kill you a second time."
Wang Bert snorted and turned to Malekith. "Dark Elves, retreat. Otherwise, the Dark Elves will be exterminated today."
"The Dark Elves will not retreat, because the Dark Elves have a mission."
With the Aether swirling around him, Malekith shouted, "That mission is to save this disgusting world. This world should not have light."
"Those who have seen the light will not remain in darkness. Fight."
Wang Bert waved his right hand, dragging Ebony Maw and Malekith into the Mirror Dimension. Seeing this, everyone else charged toward the Cursed Warriors.
Algrim shouted to the Cursed Warriors, "Kill them."
"Kill!"
The Cursed Warriors charged forward madly, and even the earth trembled beneath them.
The first to meet the Cursed Warriors was Ghost Rider Damon, wearing the Sin Buster armor. Without saying a word, he swung his flaming chain around one Cursed Warrior, then flung him into a nearby building.
"Why do we always have to fight during the day?"
Damon sighed and rushed into the building, throwing a fierce punch at the Cursed Warrior as he climbed back up. The Cursed Warrior roared and caught Damon’s fist with one hand.
At that moment, Damon opened his faceplate, revealing a burning skull before the Cursed Warrior.
"Huh?"
The Cursed Warrior froze. Then Damon said quietly, "You have sinned."
As Damon spoke, the Cursed Warrior began reliving his life. Moments later, his soul burned to ashes.
"Looks like your sins were quite serious."
Damon snorted, closed his faceplate, and went to find other Cursed Warriors. Unfortunately, the Penance Stare could not be used continuously. Otherwise, this battle would have been easy.
At the same time, the others also clashed with the Cursed Warriors in fierce combat. Hulk in particular loved opponents who could trade blow for blow with him. He threw punch after punch excitedly, sending even the Cursed Warriors staggering backward.
"What kind of monster is this?"
The Cursed Warriors were shocked. Were Earthlings really this terrifying? They actually kept such a monster?
"You are indeed strong, but sorry, I’m stronger."
Electro sneered and flicked a Vibranium coin into the air. An orange flash streaked past, directly piercing through a Cursed Warrior’s chest.
The Cursed Warrior howled. At the same time, his wound healed at a visible speed.
Electro snorted and continued bombarding him. The Cursed Warrior no longer dared take the attacks head-on and dodged repeatedly. Seeing this, Electro scattered a pile of coins and launched a frenzied bombardment.
His mission today was to eliminate two Cursed Warriors.
The repeatedly upgraded War Abomination and War Lizard each faced a Cursed Warrior. With their Vibranium weapons, they were no weaker than their opponents.
Thing, Absorbing Man, Alisa, and Human Torch also fought with all their strength. Although they could not defeat the Cursed Warriors, stalling them for a while was no problem.
Elektra faced Algrim once again. Transforming into a half-dragon, she sneered, "This time, I won’t give you another chance to escape."
"This time, I won’t run, because you’re the only one who’ll die."
Algrim roared. Several Black Hole Grenades hung from his waist. He refused to believe that she could survive even inside a black hole.
Yesterday’s humiliation had to be washed away.
"When did humans become this strong?"
Loki stared in stunned disbelief. He had thought eleven Cursed Warriors could sweep through the Super Heroes, yet every one of them had been held back. Worse still, Earth’s side had not even gone all out.
It seems my choice was not wrong.
Loki thought to himself. At that moment, a seven-colored light descended, and Thor appeared before Loki with his hammer in hand. His hair and beard stood on end as he roared, "Loki!"
Loki sneered. "Just you? Did everyone else get scared off?"
"I came to kill you."
Thor did not waste words. Lightning crackled around his body as he leaped high into the air, then smashed his hammer down at Loki.
Loki did not dodge. She merely looked at Thor with mockery. Looking at her, Thor could not help recalling their past. In the end, he could not bring himself to strike. His hammer changed direction and crashed into the grass beside her, blasting up dirt and weeds.
Loki vanished. She had only been an illusion. Then the real Loki appeared behind Thor and kicked him flying.
