A-level Wanted Order

After seeing the internal email sent by the intelligence supervisor, the Black Supervisor’s already dark expression turned even darker.

Inessa and the others had been wiped out?

Unlike the other netizens, after watching the footage recorded by restaurant customers on their phones, what came to the Black Supervisor’s mind was not whether Richard was handsome, but that Inessa and the others had fallen into a carefully prepared trap by Crimson Manor.

Although only Richard and Sabretooth appeared in the video, the Black Supervisor’s first suspicion was still Crimson Manor.

As for why Crimson Manor’s other mutants had not acted, that was not important.

What mattered was that Richard, a member of Crimson Manor, had killed Inessa and the others.

After watching the videos with an icy expression, the Black Supervisor immediately picked up the phone on his desk and dialed the intelligence supervisor’s internal number.

"Contact the websites and have these videos removed. Now, immediately!"

the Black Supervisor said sternly.

Although they were both department directors, the Action Department Director clearly held far more authority and status than the intelligence supervisor.

Upon hearing the Black Supervisor’s words, the intelligence supervisor on the other end immediately responded, "All right. I’ll arrange for someone to contact the websites."

After contacting the intelligence supervisor, the Black Supervisor hung up and dialed a second internal number.

"Notify Teams One and Two. Have them report to the meeting room immediately."

After saying that, he hung up without waiting for a response and rose to head for the meeting room.

A few minutes later.

Action Department meeting room.

More than a dozen Mutant Agents from the Action Department sat on both sides of the long table, silently watching the Black Supervisor seated at its head.

Under everyone’s gaze, the burly Black Supervisor said with a grave expression:

"Inessa and the other two are dead. Richard Wesley killed them!"

After saying that, the Black Supervisor had the secretary play the viral videos downloaded by the Intelligence Department.

Though none of the videos was long, each lasting less than a minute.

After watching them, the Mutant Agents in the meeting room all wore grim expressions.

As comrades from the same department, they knew very well what kind of strength Inessa and the other two possessed.

If Slater and Bourne had been killed, they would not have been particularly surprised.

After all, Slater and Bourne were not especially strong to begin with, and their abilities were merely common ones: Super Strength, Super Constitution, and Healing Factor.

But Inessa, who possessed Repulsion, Flash, and Mental Charm, had also been killed—and by a mutant who had awakened his abilities only days ago. That was much harder to accept.

Although Inessa’s personality was somewhat unpleasant, it could not be denied that she possessed considerable strength.

Otherwise, her combat ability could never have ranked in the top five of the Action Department.

Yet now, Inessa had been effortlessly killed by Richard like an ordinary person.

For the Mutant Agents in the meeting room, this was difficult to accept.

If even Inessa could not last long against Richard, then they would only fare worse when facing him.

"Could the intelligence be wrong? Judging from what he showed in the videos, Richard Wesley doesn’t look like someone who just awakened his abilities."

After watching the videos, Bert, the leader of Team Two, spoke quickly.

"Richard Wesley had not awakened any abilities. His father confessed as much personally. I don’t think his father could have lied in front of the Intelligence Department’s interrogators."

Before the Black Supervisor could answer, Aiden, the leader of Team One, spoke up.

Though they worked in the same department, Aiden and Bert did not get along well.

On one hand, there was direct competition between Teams One and Two.

On the other hand, their abilities were naturally incompatible.

Aiden possessed Fire Manipulation, while Bert possessed the abilities of Low-Temperature Generation and freezing.

One wielded fire, the other ice!

Though the type of ability one awakened had nothing to do with personality, with their powers being complete opposites, it was perfectly normal for them to dislike each other.

"The intelligence provided by the Intelligence Department cannot be wrong. This Richard Wesley must have awakened his abilities only in the past few days."

"Judging from his performance in the videos, the katana he summoned was no ordinary katana, and he also displayed the abilities to Flash and release Energy Blades."

"More importantly, he defeated Inessa with ease!"

"Now, I have reason to suspect that he is a Level 4 Mutant, so I’ve decided to issue an A-level Wanted Order for him!"

An A-level Wanted Order? Upon hearing the Black Supervisor’s words, Aiden and the others all revealed surprised expressions.

Though an A-level Wanted Order was not the highest-level wanted order issued against mutant criminals, every mutant targeted by an A-level Wanted Order from the Department of Mutant Affairs was an exceptionally powerful and renowned mutant.

In Aiden and the others’ eyes, using an A-level Wanted Order to pursue Richard was making a mountain out of a molehill.

It was not as though Mutant Agents had never been killed before, but under normal circumstances, a B-level Wanted Order was more than enough.

Unless it had already been confirmed that the target possessed strength far beyond that of ordinary mutants, or had committed crimes of an extremely vile nature.

Otherwise, an A-level Wanted Order would generally not be issued.

After all, it was second only to an S-level Wanted Order.

So far, the Department of Mutant Affairs had issued only one S-level Wanted Order: the one for Magneto.

The Black Supervisor ignored Aiden and the others’ surprise and continued:

"To prevent another incident where department agents are killed, Teams One and Two will act together this time."

"Whether it’s Richard Wesley, Sabretooth Victor, the woman beside Sabretooth, or the others from Crimson Manor, bring them all back!"

"If anyone resists, kill them all!"

"I want those Unregistered Mutants out there to know that resisting the Department of Mutant Affairs means certain death!"

The Black Supervisor stood up and swept his cold gaze across everyone in the meeting room.

"Yes, sir!"

After hearing the Black Supervisor’s words, Aiden, Bert, and the others responded swiftly.

Los Angeles suburbs.

An unremarkable RV Camp with few visitors.

There were many RV Camps in the Los Angeles suburbs.

The original owner’s memories alone contained knowledge of more than a dozen of them.

Though he knew of many RV Camps, Richard had not chosen any popular ones. Instead, he specifically selected one with hardly any visitors.

At the moment, he had no idea that his battle with Inessa and the others had been recorded by restaurant customers and uploaded online. He also did not know that he had caused quite a stir online, much less that an A-level Wanted Order had been issued for him.

After parking the RV in a corner of the camp, he left without a word and headed into the nearby forest.

After confirming that no one else was around, he summoned Masamune from the System Space.

...

Without any hesitation, he immediately began practicing Octaslash.

Before long, he had exhausted all the magic power in his body.

Skill: Octaslash (Level 1, 36/100)

After glancing at Octaslash’s current proficiency, he began examining the Repulsion ability he had Plundered from Inessa.

Repulsion: Beta-level ability. It can repel any object, including but not limited to solids, liquids, gases, energy, and more.

Like the Plunder ability, the System’s explanation of Repulsion consisted of only a single short sentence.

Though there was not much information, it was enough for him to understand what kind of ability it was.

Based on Inessa’s performance, when she repelled Masamune’s slash inside the restaurant, she had directly repelled Masamune itself.

As for the Shockwave she released outside the restaurant, she had solidified and compressed the air in front of her, then repelled the compressed air as a Shockwave.

As for why she had later been unable to repel Octaslash, Richard guessed it was because Octaslash used magic power.

Though the System’s description stated that Repulsion could repel any object, a glance at Repulsion’s level was enough to show that it had limits.

If an attack exceeded Repulsion’s limit, such as Octaslash performed with magic power, it could be immune to the effect—or rather, hit Inessa before being repelled.

In terms of practical effects, Repulsion was a very good ability.

But unfortunately, Repulsion was only a Beta-level ability.

If he did not Plunder abilities of the same type as Repulsion, Repulsion’s limit would not become particularly high.
