A Man’s Mouth Is a Lying Ghost

Beneath the red, flame-like clouds, the endless mountain range lay silent and dormant. After the ancient Egyptian civilization and Atlantis civilization, the group arrived at this scorched black range.

It had once been a forest of towering green trees, and traces of riverbeds could be found at the foot of the cliffs. But a meteor had fallen from the sky, destroying all life and completely changing the landscape.

The meteor crater lay at the heart of the mountain range, a sunken circle ten kilometers in diameter. Viewed from above, it looked like a round scar on Father Earth’s body.

That was right—not Mother Earth, but Father Earth. Mount Everest was the most obvious proof.

And don’t mention the East African Rift Valley. That was a butt crack!

Back to the point: the meteor’s impact had flattened the central mountains, while rings of narrow trenches spread outward. The surrounding mountains that had survived were also drastically reshaped. Their blackened surfaces had crystallized, jutting from the ground like sharp blades. At the bottoms of the valleys lay piles of collapsed rocks forming talus cones, while countless strange holes riddled the cliff walls.

Most troubling of all, high concentrations of radioactive material had been detected in the mountains. The closer they got to the crater, the higher the concentration became!

Eight teams, a total of forty-two Reincarnators, had gathered at the edge of the mountain range. Russell and the others were among them.

After becoming familiar with the rules of this mission, the Reincarnators chose to stick together for safety. It was a choice born of necessity, because those who stubbornly went it alone rarely made it back alive after venturing deep into the mountains.

This ruin had been explored before. Three teams had entered one after another, and all had failed. No one knew what civilization it belonged to, but one thing was certain: a huge number of giant beasts were active inside, and every one of them was highly aggressive.

When Russell’s group of six people and fifteen Dog Packs arrived, quite a few people had already gathered at the mountain range’s edge. They decisively went with the flow and formed a temporary large group.

History told them that strength came in numbers. Individual heroism was not advisable!

"Vice-captain!" Guan Yin and Jian Shaoxin walked over side by side, their expressions somewhat grave.

"How was it? What information did you find?"

With more than forty Reincarnators gathered together, exchanging intelligence was an essential step. The rules of this Team Battle were very different from before, so the Reincarnators were happy to cooperate.

"One piece of good news, and one piece of bad news!" Guan Yin gave the standard reply.

Ying Yingying rubbed the corner of her brow. "Tell us the bad news first. Then we won’t feel so terrible afterward."

"One of the two remaining ruins has already been successfully explored!"

"Definitely bad news. Do we know what kind of ruin it was?"

"The civilization of Aliens and Predators…" Jian Shaoxin relayed the information she had received word for word. There was an underground pyramid within a glacier, where Aliens parasitized giant beasts and Reincarnators alike. The mutated individuals were incredibly powerful. The final bosses were the Alien Queen and Alien King, and a Predator Elder had also appeared.

After hearing Jian Shaoxin’s account, everyone fell silent as they digested the information. Including this mountain range, only two ruins remained. From here on, they had no room to choose.

Seeing the atmosphere grow somewhat gloomy, Ying Yingying clapped her hands. "This doesn’t really count as bad news. An Alien’s racial traits allow it to parasitize any living creature. If the Main God amplified that trait, it might even create some kind of Alien God. We were lucky to avoid that tough nut."

"That’s true."

"Go on, then. What’s the good news?"

"When we exchanged information, we asked about the final ruin. Almost all the Reincarnators knew nothing about it. In other words, it hasn’t been explored yet." Jian Shaoxin spoke with relief. Heaven had not cut off all their paths. They still had a chance to complete the mission.

"Almost all the Reincarnators know nothing about it. That probably isn’t good news…" Russell pondered for a moment, then slowly said, "No one knowing anything doesn’t mean no one has explored it. There’s another possibility: everyone who went in died, so no information could get out."

Ying Yingying: "…"

Didn’t I tell you not to talk?

Russell ignored Ying Yingying’s glare and continued, "If my guess is right, then the final ruin is extremely dangerous."

Everyone understood what he meant. Whether it was the previous pyramid or this mountain range, the Reincarnators had managed to gather intelligence. Even with severe casualties, they could at least move freely through the outer areas.

But now, with the final ruin, the Reincarnators could not even make it out of the outer area…

The atmosphere became stifling, and everyone felt immense pressure. Realizing that he had dampened their spirits, Russell coughed lightly. "I was just saying. A man’s mouth is a lying ghost. You women don’t need to take it seriously."

"…"

Two hours passed, and no new Reincarnator teams appeared. The leaders of the eight teams gathered together, stopped waiting, and set off immediately.

Because of the radioactive materials in the mountains, Guan Yin had specially modified a combat Iron Man Suit into protective gear. The other Reincarnator teams each had their own tricks. Those without any equipment could only put on a few extra layers and pray for the best.

The forty-two people gathered together in high spirits. The Main God Space had never seen so many people forming a party to clear a dungeon. Even if two Saiyans jumped out of the crater, they were confident they could take them down directly.

Hearing the system prompts, Russell had no desire to make any jokes. He had seen too much of the world by now. Forget Bi Yun—even if Bi Yuntao showed up, he would not so much as furrow a brow.

The mountain range was rugged and winding. There had originally been no path here, but once the Reincarnators arrived, they made one.

The two Gundams that had appeared at the pyramid previously took the lead, walking at the very front to clear the way. The two mechs blasted through mountains when they encountered mountains and filled pits when they encountered pits, ensuring that the group continued in a straight line.

Russell and the women walked toward the rear of the group, each holding a weapon and warily watching for wild monsters that might appear from either side. Traveling alongside them were five silent, brawny men.

The five men wore Hanfu and walked with the bearing of martial arts masters. The weapons in their hands further proved it: longswords, battle axes, bows, spears, and daggers.

But having seen the Mecha Zord on Skull Island, Russell recognized the five from their weapons. The question was, who was the Pink Ranger?

"Jason, where are your teammates?" Duan Xinlan leaned over and asked quietly.

"I don’t know. Maybe they went to explore the final ruin."

"That miserable? According to your guess, doesn’t that mean they’re dead for sure?" Duan Xinlan’s eyes lit up as she secretly rejoiced.

"Probably! But I’m not close with them. Other than doing missions, we never talked. If they died, they died."

"Have you ever considered joining our team?"

"Your team…" Russell looked at Duan Xinlan suspiciously. "As far as I know, your team doesn’t accept men, does it?"

"The situation is different now. Our captain found herself a wild man outside and plans to bring him into the team. When that happens, the entry standards will be relaxed. As long as they’re relatives or boyfriends of team members and pass the assessment, they can join."

Russell fell silent for three seconds. "But I’m neither related to anyone on your team nor in a relationship with any of them."

"That doesn’t matter!"

Duan Xinlan patted her chest and said loyally, "We can pretend to be a couple. I’ll recommend you and get you in."

"Forget it!"

"Huh? Why?"

I’m afraid you’ll get beaten to death!

Russell rolled his eyes. Just as he was about to find some excuse to brush her off, a sudden change erupted. The Dog Packs bared their fangs and growled viciously, their fur standing on end in warning.
