Adam Makes His Move
"Damn it, these useless bugs."
Seeing the insect generals suffer defeat after defeat, Hela’s expression darkened. This time, she had miscalculated two things—the Blood Clan, and Skye and Black Bolt’s fusion.
Hela had not expected the Blood Clan to be so formidable, not inferior even to those Super Heroes. She had expected even less that Skye and Black Bolt’s fusion would be so powerful that even Annihilus was no match for it, getting pummeled the entire way.
Without those two variables, she would have won this battle for sure.
"Master is Master. Even without personally taking action, he can still turn the tide. Fortunately, my plans this time are thorough. The alliance will definitely collapse."
After thinking for a moment, Hela sent Knull a message. "Have the Four Ancient Gods help."
Knull was stunned. "Why should I be the one to seek out the Four Ancient Gods? Shouldn’t that be you?"
"Don’t you want to save face?"
Hela sneered. "I will only ask ordinary demon gods for help. You need to contact the Four Ancient Gods yourself. I will not contact them."
Knull gritted his teeth. Hela had him completely figured out. At that moment, because he had been distracted, Jessica smashed him flying once again.
Tony said unhappily, "Jessica, can you stop sending him flying all the time? Chasing him is exhausting, okay?"
"I can’t help it. I suddenly have twice as much strength, so I can’t control it."
Jessica said helplessly, "If you want to blame someone, blame that guy for being too weak. If he were stronger, he wouldn’t fly so far."
Ivan cursed, "What a piece of trash. Other than being able to take a beating, he’s useless. Hey, were you born just to disgust people?"
Knull was truly enraged. He no longer cared about schemes or plans and directly contacted Chthon, shouting, "Chthon, give me power! I want to kill these bastards!"
Chthon had been watching the battle over there. Hearing this, he frowned slightly. After a moment, he said, "Fine. I will give you power and restore part of your Ancient God abilities."
Knull said, "Thank you. I won’t disappoint you. I will definitely compensate you."
"We are allies. There is no need to say so much."
Chthon chuckled and pointed into the void. Earth’s Defense Net immediately caved in and split apart. Then, a mass of black mist flew from his body through the opening into the Main Universe, descending toward Knull.
At that moment, Earth’s Defense Net healed and counterattacked. Chthon withdrew his finger, his face full of indifference.
In Hell, the Serpent God Set’s projection asked Chthon’s projection, "Chthon, why did you give power to that piece of trash Knull for free?"
That was right, trash. In Set’s eyes, Knull was trash—trash who had nearly been beaten to death by a group of Super Heroes.
Chthon glanced at Set and asked, "Are you somewhat dissatisfied with me?"
"It’s not dissatisfaction. It’s incomprehension. I think you are being too soft on Hela. There is no need for us to obey Hela’s every word. We are Ancient Gods. What the hell is Hela?"
Set said frankly, "Besides, why are we giving Hela so much help? Wouldn’t it benefit us more if her situation got worse?"
"Your two questions can be reduced to one question."
Chthon smiled. "Underestimating Blood God Bert Wang."
"Underestimating the Blood God?"
"Yes, Set. Although you have suffered several losses at the Blood God’s hands, you still subconsciously underestimate him."
Chthon shook his head. "Who do you think the Blood God is? He is a super miracle, a super miracle who became a Creator God from a mortal in just a few years. Can you accomplish something like that?"
"Of course not."
Set honestly shook his head. He had lived for tens of millions of years and was still merely an Ancient God.
"I cannot do it either, so we must never underestimate the Blood God. We must treat him as a true Creator God."
Chthon said, "Set, even if we wholeheartedly help Hela, Hela still cannot defeat the Blood God. The Blood God will definitely win."
Set thought for a moment and nodded. "Judging from his past record, that is indeed the case."
"The reason I obey Hela’s every word is simple: to make Hela lower her guard against us, to make her think that we are trash like Knull and can be controlled however she wishes."
Chthon continued, "That way, after she is defeated by the Blood God, she will abandon everything and let us into the Main Universe. By then, we can do whatever we want."
"I see."
Set suddenly understood. No wonder Chthon could be the leader. He truly saw farther than Set did.
"Also, it is to prevent Death from seeking other helpers."
Chthon said, "Don’t forget that the Living Tribunal has a group of Celestial Group members under its command. With no other options, Death might very well ask them for help."
The Celestial Group were cosmic gods, the universe’s supreme enforcers—the Celestial Head was actually the head of a Celestial Group member. Moreover, Knull had been sealed by the Celestial Group. That guy had wanted to destroy the universe, only to be flattened by the Celestial Group in return.
Set nodded. "Understood. Then let Hela be pleased with herself for now. Once we enter the Main Universe, we will make her pay."
At that moment, Adam, who had not spoken until then, opened his eyes and asked, "Have you two finished talking?"
Chthon snorted. "Satan, what do you want?"
"Nothing much. I just want to beat you two to death."
Adam wore a smile as he snapped his fingers. All of Hell was sealed off. Those outside could not enter, and those inside could not leave.
"Beat us to death?"
Chthon and Set both laughed. Chthon shook his head. "Leaving aside the fact that you are no match for us, even if you really could kill us, would you dare? Aren’t you afraid we would blow Hell apart?"
Although Chthon and Set were only projections, they had lived for at least tens of millions of years. They were not comparable to a new Satan like Adam.
The gap in strength between veteran Ancient Gods and new Ancient Gods was even greater than the gap between Ancient Gods and ordinary gods. If that were not the case, how would Chthon and Set dare come to Hell?
"If you dare send troops, Hell will take you on."
Adam said disdainfully, "It’s just war. When has Hell ever feared war?"
Hell’s Will trembled. It did not want to fight this inexplicable war.
"Don’t worry. As long as I am in Hell, they definitely will not dare send troops for real."
Adam soothed it. "If they truly dare to send troops, the main body will not stand idly by. He cannot act in the Main Universe, but there are no restrictions in the Extraterritorial Void."
Adam had stopped sending troops earlier not because he feared Chthon and Set, but because he did not want the Main Universe to be endangered.
Since Chthon and Set had delivered themselves to his door, Adam could take the opportunity to deal with their projections. This would not only weaken them, but also reveal their abilities.
Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated. This time, it was their projections. Next time, it would be their main bodies.
Upon hearing this, Hell’s Will stopped trembling. It still believed the Blood God’s words.
"You really intend to make a move?"
Seeing Hell’s Will stop trembling, Chthon sneered. "Satan, do you really think you can defeat us?"
"Whether I can or not, won’t we find out after we fight? Why all the pointless talk?"
Adam smiled disdainfully and swung the Lucifer Greatsword, transforming it into a gigantic pitch-black sword that slashed toward Chthon. The entire space trembled.
"You don’t know your own limits. Since that is the case, I will teach you a lesson."
Chthon smiled disdainfully. Adam was in Hell, so Chthon could not kill him, but teaching him a lesson would not be a problem.
Chthon affected the time around him and abruptly appeared at Adam’s side before the greatsword could fall. Then, the black mist around him transformed into clanking chains that passed through space and rapidly wrapped around Adam.
Adam immediately shook the Lucifer Greatsword, and the Black Light on the sword transformed into small swords that shot toward the chains.
Chthon swept his hand, causing space to shake. All the small swords fell to the ground at once.
Then, the black mist chains wrapped around Adam. Adam’s gaze narrowed as he hurriedly controlled Chaos Energy to surge toward the black mist chains.
At that moment, Chthon clenched his other hand. The space behind Adam transformed into a spear that stabbed down. Adam tried to dodge, but the spear abruptly accelerated, piercing through his body and nailing him to the ground.
It was not over yet. The spear then transformed into runes that fused into Adam’s body. Adam immediately felt his power drain away dramatically.
This was Black Magic—Weakening Runes.
"Chthon!"
Adam roared. Chaos Energy rapidly corroded the black mist chains, which writhed wildly through the air like mad serpents. Then, Chaos Energy surged into Adam’s body and disrupted those runes.
"Adam, stop humiliating yourself, or don’t blame me for being ruthless!"
Chthon did not attack again and merely snorted. Adam could only accelerate the time around him by onefold, while Chthon could accelerate it more than tenfold. Combined with the Black Magic Chthon wielded, what was a mere Adam worth? If this were not Hell, Chthon could have sealed Adam using only a projection—only sealed him. As mentioned before, Ancient Gods were difficult to kill.
Set sneered from the side. A new Satan actually dared shout about killing two Ancient Gods. It was utterly laughable. Did he think he was Blood God Bert Wang, who specialized in creating miracles? Although Set was deeply dissatisfied with the Blood God, even he had to admit that the Blood God was a super miracle.
Who had ever seen someone beat up Ancient Gods after only a few years?
"I will slaughter you! Hell Power!"
Adam roared, and Hell Power crazily poured into his body. His aura abruptly surged. Then, he grabbed the Lucifer Greatsword and slashed downward. The void shattered directly, and a Space Storm swept toward Set like sharp blades.
"Stubborn to the end."
Chthon snorted. After Adam absorbed Hell Power, his influence over time increased greatly, but to Chthon, it was still not worth mentioning.
The key to the ability to affect time was one’s understanding of time, not energy.
Chthon raised his hand, and an enormous demon god hand suddenly appeared around Adam, reaching for him like a prison formed from heaven and earth.
Inside the demon god hand, space froze and time slowed drastically. Adam had no power to resist and was firmly grasped by the giant hand.
Then, thirteen negative states within the demon god hand—weakness, aging, powerlessness, distraction, pain…—all activated at once. Adam’s aura rapidly weakened at an astonishing speed.
This Black Magic move was called the Hand of Chthon.
This universe often named magical moves and items after people. Generally speaking, magic or items with such names were quite powerful, because the person who named them could not afford to lose face.
The Hand of Chthon was the same. This move stood alongside Vishanti’s Holy Sword and was Chthon’s proud Black Magic.
"A junior is still a junior. He needs a proper beating before he learns the difference between heaven and earth."
Set sneered. At that moment, the space and time around him suddenly became incomparably chaotic. His heart jolted, and just as he was about to use his ability, his mind suddenly descended into complete chaos.
Although Set recovered a second later, it was already too late—he was suppressed by Chaos Space and vanished completely.
"Wasn’t I just here to make up the numbers?"
Before being taken away, Set wore a bewildered expression. How had he become the target?
"Who is it?"
Chthon shouted, his heart growing solemn. Someone had actually suppressed Set in an instant. This was no friendly arrival.
"Of course it’s me."
A figure stepped out of the void and looked at Chthon with a smile. Chthon shouted in disbelief, "Adam."
"That’s right. It is your Grandpa Adam."
Adam laughed loudly. At the same time, the Adam trapped by the demon god hand sneered. "The ancestor of Black Magic, a great demon god, is nothing more than this. You can’t even distinguish a projection from the main body."
"That is impossible. You have the Chaos Concept on you. How could you be a projection?"
Chthon shouted in disbelief. Everyone knew that unless necessary, a main body would not give its Concepts to a projection or clone. Even if it did, it would only give a tiny amount.
Yet Adam possessed the complete Chaos Concept. How could he be a projection? It was worth mentioning that the reason Chthon had sensed wrongly was also related to the nature of the Chaos Concept itself. The Chaos Concept could inherently confuse an enemy’s senses.
"Why is it impossible?"
Adam sneered. "Don’t measure a rich man like me by the mindset of a pauper like you. It is merely the Chaos Concept. I have plenty of it. What is wrong with giving one share to a projection?"
"That’s right. I’m not afraid to tell you that I possess not only the Chaos Concept, but also the Evil Concept. Chthon, we are not paupers like you."
Adam’s projection said arrogantly. At the same time, the demon god hand around him rapidly disappeared under the corrosion of the Chaos Concept.
The Dragon Soul Clone had once killed two Satans, so it did not lack either the Chaos Concept or Evil Concept at all. Worth mentioning was that Satan in one of those universes had been Mephisto. He had just become Satan when the Dragon Soul Clone killed him. The expression on his face before he died had been so amusing—cough, cough, so miserable.
Chthon thought of something and asked coldly, "Your target from the beginning was Set. You had the projection attack me to hold me back, right?"
"Correct, but there is no prize."
Adam said. He knew Set too well, so there was no need to probe him further. The one who truly needed to be tested was the great demon god Chthon.
Thus, Adam had the projection attack Chthon while he ambushed Set and suppressed him.
Of course, that could not kill Set. It could only hold him for a while. But that was not a problem. Once Adam killed Chthon, he could slowly deal with Set afterward.
"What an Adam. It seems everyone has underestimated you. In that case, I will have a proper game with you."
Chthon snorted coldly and waved his hand. The Hand of Chthon carried the projection through space toward another Hell. Then, black mist erupted wildly from Chthon’s body, transforming into dense chains that locked toward Adam.
Adam caught the Lucifer Greatsword thrown over by the projection before it teleported away and swung it powerfully forward. The void was split open by a straight black line.
