#223

Allen Is Morgan’s Grandfather

Tony stared at the relationships displayed in the file and fell silent for a long time.

Though he did not want to admit it, the facts were right in front of him.

He had heard Steve talk about events from World War II more than once.

At Stark Industries’ consumer division, many products had evolved from technology provided by Allen and were still flagship products on the market.

This had allowed them to accumulate their initial capital before investing it in military research.

At that moment, the other Avengers arrived.

Hawkeye, providing remote support, had already found a sniper position and was ready to launch a surprise attack at any time.

At the same time, two motorcycles approached from afar.

They were Captain America Steve and Widow Natasha.

As they drew near and saw the target, their hearts immediately sank.

They were old acquaintances of Allen and could naturally recognize him at a glance.

In contrast, this was Tony’s first official meeting with his nominal uncle.

"Old Man’s eldest son."

With the expression of a loving father, Allen walked up to Steve and asked, "My eldest nephew hit his uncle. Are you going to do anything about it?"

"…"

Tony landed beside them, flipped up his faceplate, and said, "I didn’t recognize you just now."

"Allen, what are you doing here?" Steve asked in confusion.

Allen removed his mask and hood, then calmly said, "If I don’t come out and stir things up, the author can’t keep writing. My life is too hard."

"…"

There really was nothing to do in Gotham City.

Arthur’s mayoral campaign did not require his involvement.

The Court of Owls, which had once threatened Gotham, had already been dealt with.

As for ordinary public safety issues, Bruce was there to handle them.

For a moment, Allen felt that his sense of presence had completely vanished, so he came to New York to pick a fight with the Marvel heroes.

"Widow, long time no see. I’ve missed you terribly."

Allen then walked over to Natasha, patiently looked her over, and exaggeratedly said, "Widow, your new hairstyle looks great. It looks exactly like you have a bowl of instant noodles on your head."

The two had interacted quite a lot and had crossed paths in both timelines.

In the World War II timeline, she had rescued Allen once.

In the mutant timeline, Allen had forced her to join Hydra.

"What kind of outfit are you wearing?" Natasha asked.

Strictly speaking, Allen had never even made it onto the superhero rankings.

Mainly because he had no record of heroic deeds. He often fought high-level battles, so the public did not think much of him, though he was fairly well known among the Justice League and its enemies.

Besides, Allen never used the identity of Funny Bat when traveling through timelines, so there had never been any stories about him under that name.

"Funny Bat."

The skin covering the lower half of Allen’s face shifted as he spiritedly asked, "Handsome, right?"

"Average." Natasha replied blandly.

"You’re a woman who says one thing and means another. Please face your true feelings."

Allen had never needed anyone else to define his handsomeness.

Tony stepped in to smooth things over, suggesting that they gather at Stark Tower and call in the Avengers so everyone could get acquainted.

After all, Allen was an honored guest.

His feat of defeating the Dark Knights alone was nothing short of glorious.

He had actually seen through his opponents’ weaknesses and defeated them one by one with ease.

Among them, The Devastator alone had given the Justice League a massive headache, nearly reducing an entire city to ruins.

If the Justice League’s heroes had not worked together, the Avengers probably would not have been able to stay out of it.

As a result, the city needed reconstruction, and Stark Industries had won the bid for construction projects in part of the city.

Speaking of which, Tony and Bruce were capitalists cut from the same cloth. The destruction brought by war only made them richer and richer.

Capital giants such as Wayne Group, LexCorp, and Stark Industries had all made a fortune from the city’s reconstruction.

Steve rode his motorcycle with Nanaue behind him.

Naturally, Allen sat behind Widow, pressing sweetly against her back. His fingers drew very improper circles on her shoulder as he said in the shy tone of a first love, "Sister, the last time you gave me a ride was also the last time you gave me a ride."

"Didn’t you always like Magik? Have you forgotten your sweetheart already?" Natasha teased.

"Don’t talk nonsense. There’s only ever been you in my heart, Sister. Every other woman is just a passing cloud."

Allen wrapped both arms around Natasha’s waist and hips, saying in a sleazy tone, "My exclusive handlebar of love."

"I heard you and Wonder Woman Diana get along quite well," Natasha said conversationally.

"Sister, you’re so annoying."

Allen shamelessly retorted, "It was just acting for the occasion. Don’t tell me you’re jealous, Sister?"

"I recorded that."

Natasha casually took out a recording pen and played Allen’s words back.

"Woman, if you want to possess me, just say so. Why resort to schemes and tricks?" Allen said without concern. "I’m very easy to get. One try and you’ve got me."

"I don’t want to get you. You’re overthinking it."

Natasha pressed the delete button. She had only meant to scare him and had no interest in meddling in Allen’s private relationships.

Based on the intelligence gathered so far, this guy periodically traveled through timelines and messed around with every woman he encountered, provided she was someone destined to become at least somewhat famous in the future.

He surprisingly had no interest in flirting with ordinary women.

While Allen and Natasha were getting closer, a reporter hiding in a corner secretly took a photograph of them.

Black Widow and Batman were sitting intimately on the same motorcycle, leaning against each other. It was hard not to believe there was something going on between them.

No doubt many newspapers would be willing to pay a high price for it.

With just one photograph, they could make up countless stories.

Stark Tower, the Avengers’ headquarters.

It was where the heroes usually gathered.

Of course, only core members usually had unrestricted access in order to respond to sudden emergencies. The Avengers had quite a few branches, each guarded by other superhero teams.

The resident members were Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk, War Machine, Ant-Man, Falcon…

As for Thor, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and the others, they would only appear with their respective forces when a major crisis occurred.

Simply put, lone superheroes were always on standby, while those who already commanded their own forces could not possibly abandon their posts.

"Daddy."

When they gathered on the top floor.

The little girl in Pepper Potts’s arms eagerly opened her arms toward Tony.

"Morgan, were you good today?" Tony lovingly picked up his daughter, then introduced her to his wife. "This is Allen, the one I mentioned before. The one beside him is Nanaue."

"Hello, I’m Pepper Stark."

Dressed in business attire, the mature and intellectual blonde Pepper Potts greeted them naturally.

Allen said in disbelief, "Eldest Nephew, you already have a daughter?"

But after thinking about it, he found it perfectly normal.

Tony was in his early fifties, the same age as Bruce. He had played around enough, so settling down, getting married, and having children was only natural.

Moreover, Batman was three months older than Iron Man and shared the same playboy tendencies.

"Hello, Morgan. I’m your Grandpa Allen."

Allen pulled a calico cat from the War God Helmet and handed it to Morgan, saying dotingly, "Do you like cats? Do you want to pet it?"

"Mm…"

Morgan reached out and held the calico, while the lazy cat did not resist at all.

The moment Tony heard the words "Grandpa Allen," his expression froze.

Among everyone present, he looked the oldest but was actually the youngest.

Steve and Natasha dated back to World War II.

Allen traveled through timelines, so age could no longer define him.

Nanaue was the descendant of a god and was at least several centuries old.

One after another, they all looked young, while Tony, with his graying beard, should technically be calling them uncles and aunts according to seniority.

Seemingly noticing Tony’s awkwardness, Allen patted him on the shoulder and comforted him, "We can each go by our own standards. I’ll call you Eldest Nephew, and you can just call me by my name."

"…"
