#295
Ancient One
"Another demon god dealt with. Say, are my future gains going to be mostly demon gods?"
Wang Bert stroked his chin and thought to himself. At his level, ordinary treasures no longer caught his eye.
At that moment, Wang Bert sensed something and suddenly turned his head, discovering an incomparably powerful dimension connecting to Earth.
This was not an ordinary connection. The powerful dimension wanted to merge itself with Earth.
For it to accomplish something like this, there had to be an ancient god-level existence behind that powerful dimension.
"An ancient god?"
Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. He was now at the peak of ordinary gods, only one step away from becoming an ancient god—the most crucial step: comprehending time.
All ancient gods possessed the power of time. Within their own dimensions, they could manipulate time however they wished. Dormammu was one such example—within the Dark Dimension, Dormammu was an ancient god; outside the Dark Dimension, he was not.
In the Main Universe, ancient gods could also manipulate time, though not as powerfully, and they certainly could not freely travel across Timelines.
"Main body, the final battle is about to begin."
Wang Bert reported to his main body. The main body narrowed his eyes slightly and said to Lilith, Mercury, Blade, and the others behind him, "Get ready. I’ll send you back to Earth shortly. There’s going to be a hard battle."
Lilith and Mercury nodded at the same time. "No problem. The Blood Clan has never feared a hard battle."
"The Blood Clan Police Department fights hard battles every day."
Blade said coolly. It was worth mentioning that there were two small black dots on his red point—those were his sunglasses.
After all, this was the main body.
"Can we not fight?"
Dracula asked weakly. In practically every hard battle he had experienced, he had been cannon fodder.
Like this scheme against Dormammu. The Blood God had not informed him beforehand at all. He had been nothing but a tool ghost.
All the Vampires looked at Dracula with utter contempt in their eyes. This was what the Vampire Progenitor was like? Dracula smiled awkwardly. "Just kidding. Trying to liven up the mood."
"I hope you really are kidding."
Wang Bert snorted and separated from Dormammu’s body.
At this moment, Dormammu had already been defeated and was trapped inside a dark star by Dark Ancient One. Ancient One spread her hands and continuously absorbed his power.
"I refuse to accept this! I refuse to accept this…"
Dormammu roared. If half his authority had not been transferred to Ancient One, preventing him from drawing on the Dark Dimension’s power, and if the Blood God had not brought the Vampires to cause trouble, how could he possibly have lost?
"Please face reality. Even without me, you would still have lost. Otherwise, why would the Dark Dimension transfer its authority to my Master?"
Wang Bert sneered. "Compared to my Master, you are lacking by far more than a little. Even your treatment is different."
Dormammu roared, "Blood God, I won’t let you off!"
"Like you still have a chance?"
Wang Bert shrugged and said to Dark Ancient One, "Master, the big boss is almost here. I’m going to begin my training."
"Time has no meaning to the Dark Dimension. You will have endless time to train until you comprehend time through space."
Dark Ancient One looked at Wang Bert and said, "But, good disciple, if I fight the other Ancient One, whose side will you take?"
"You are both my Masters. Naturally, I will help neither side. Whatever happens, you two big shots can settle it yourselves."
Wang Bert said, "However, I am Earth Guardian. No matter who wants to harm Earth, I will show no mercy."
"Don’t worry. This world has more than one universe."
Dark Ancient One snorted and waved her hand. A dazzling radiance lit up the Dark Dimension, and countless planets flickered faintly within it.
That ray of light was the Timeline of the Dark Dimension.
However, the Dark Dimension had no life, so its Timeline was not very meaningful—no matter how you traveled through it, it was still a pitch-black world.
"Dormammu, you really are an idiot. You had such a vast space, yet you never even cultivated a single race."
Dark Ancient One snorted coldly and raised her hand, scattering a large number of seeds across the Timeline. Immediately afterward, countless Dark Elves warships appeared out of thin air in the sky.
Then, the Dark Elves flew out of their warships in unison, knelt before Ancient One in the void, and cried out fanatically, "We greet the Lord of Darkness!"
The Dark Elves had once invaded Earth and been wiped out by Wang Bert. At the time, Ancient One had gathered some of the Dark Elves’ souls.
Previously, Dark Ancient One had turned those souls into seeds and scattered them into the past of the Dark Dimension. After several thousand years, the Dark Elves had grown up and fallen at her feet.
This was the power of time. Wang Bert’s eyes lit up, but then he shook his head—only in an affiliated dimension could one control a Timeline like this. In the Main Universe, it was impossible. The River of Time would backlash.
Moreover, the Time Stone would stabilize the Timeline and prevent it from branching.
"I, Ancient One, am the Lord of Darkness."
Dark Ancient One spread her arms and shouted with wild, domineering flair. The consciousness of the Dark Dimension was extremely satisfied and completely transferred its authority to her. Dormammu rapidly vanished.
Before his death, Dormammu’s consciousness finally returned to normal. His hatred for Ancient One disappeared, and he gave a bitter laugh. "So I really was a puppet working twenty-four hours a day without rest. Sigh, I’m finally free. Back then, I truly should not have inherited the divine position of the Lord of Darkness."
Why were there no living beings in the Dark Dimension? Because Dormammu was a puppet. Puppets needed no entertainment and no subordinates. The only thing he needed to do was endlessly expand the Dark Dimension.
"With your aptitude, if you had not inherited that divine position, you would have died long ago. You would not even have been qualified to become a god."
Dark Ancient One said disdainfully. Her authority was much greater than Dormammu’s, and she retained most of her consciousness. She was not a puppet.
It could not be helped. Talents were hard to come by. To the Dark Dimension, Ancient One was more like a collaborator.
Hearing Dark Ancient One’s blunt truth, Dormammu gave her the middle finger and vanished completely, leaving behind only a cluster of red light formed from Vampires.
Wang Bert waved his hand, and all the red light returned to Earth. Mercury, Lilith, Blade, and the others promptly gathered their teams and prepared to enter the battlefield.
Wang Bert smiled. "Congratulations, Master, on taking control of the Dark Dimension."
"This is only the beginning. Next, the other Ancient One and I will have a final battle. The victor will be the true Ancient One, the Ancient One who transcends the world and rises to a higher level."
Dark Ancient One shook her head and asked, "Will a thousand years be enough?"
"A thousand years will be enough for me to completely absorb the Space Stone and draw inferences from it to comprehend time."
Wang Bert nodded. Space and time had always been connected. Furthermore, traveling through Timelines was extremely helpful for comprehending the power of time.
"Good."
Dark Ancient One did not waste words. She waved her hand and threw Wang Bert into the Timeline.
"A thousand years of solitude. Is this the price of becoming strong? Not bad. At least it’s better than losing my hair. Once this battle is over, I need to rest for a while and hook up with a few, a few hundred, a few thousand girls to regain my humanity."
Wang Bert looked at the empty surroundings, shrugged, took out the last small piece of the Space Stone, and began absorbing it.
In Heaven, the Dragon Soul Clone received notice from the projection and stopped playing with the Angels. He let out a loud shout, holy light bursting from his body. The Spear of God in his hand swung out as though it would tear apart heaven and earth, instantly ripping open the Holy Mountain and the surrounding space.
Earlier, Wang Bert had secretly devoured a massive amount of holy light energy. Now that it erupted, the Holy Mountain could not withstand it at all.
"The Blood God has broken out!"
Raphael and the other Angels were greatly alarmed. They hurriedly flew into the sky and urged their holy light into dense, sky-covering arrows of light that shot toward Wang Bert. Wang Bert smiled disdainfully, opened his mouth, and sucked hard, swallowing every arrow of light.
Immediately afterward, Wang Bert spewed a large amount of green poisonous gas. Raphael was fine, but the moment the other angel gods were enveloped by the poisonous gas, they swayed and fell from the sky.
Wang Bert’s poison was far stronger than the Dragon God’s poison because he had absorbed vast quantities of poison from across the universe—bought or traded for.
"Hurry and bring them back!"
While shouting, Raphael held his greatsword and transformed into countless sword shadows that slashed toward Wang Bert. Wang Bert smiled disdainfully, grabbed the several-hundred-meter-high Holy Mountain beside him, and hurled it at Raphael.
Bang! Raphael was directly smashed away by the Holy Mountain, sent flying an unknown number of miles.
Next, Wang Bert flew into the sky and grabbed at the air. Nine angel gods shrank at the same time and landed in his hand. Then Dragon Fire capable of burning all things flared from his palm, burning the nine angel gods until they screamed without pause.
A moment later, all nine Angels turned to ash, leaving behind only nine pure god-level angel cores.
Every Angel possessed an angel core. Even god-level Angels were no exception.
Wang Bert shouted, "Annie, bring the Avenging Angels back."
"Yes."
Annie and the others immediately broke away from their opponents and returned to Wang Bert’s side. Wang Bert said nothing and directly drove the nine angel cores into their bodies.
"Is that enough for you to become gods? If not, I’ll kill more."
Wang Bert asked coldly. Not going too far in Heaven meant not destroying Heaven or killing the archangels. Killing one or two angel gods did not count.
Since Wang Bert had come, he naturally had to take some spoils of war. Besides, the Angels had brought this upon themselves. If he did not kill some of their gods, how could he justify what they had nearly done to Earth? "It’s enough. Actually, we used to be gods, but we later died in battle and were enslaved by Mephisto, causing our strength to plummet below god-level."
Joy appeared on the faces of Annie and the other eight. At last, they could recover their god-level strength.
"Very good."
Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction and sent Annie and the other eight back to Earth to recover their strength. They might even make it in time for the final battle.
"Blood God!"
Seeing Wang Bert use angel gods to restore the Avenging Angels’ strength, the furious Angel Uriel’s face twisted in rage. She roared and forcefully hurled a blazing spear at Wang Bert.
The spear came with tremendous force, even leaving behind a straight black line. Space had been pierced through, but to Wang Bert, this was truly nothing. He reached out and caught the spear directly, his body not moving in the slightest.
Uriel sucked in a cold breath. This meant the other party was far stronger than her. No wonder Gabriel and Michael had lost so miserably.
"If I throw this spear back, you might die."
Wang Bert grabbed the spear in reverse, replaced its original flames with Dragon Fire, and said coldly.
Uriel’s gaze tightened. Just as she was about to speak, a warning suddenly rose in her heart. She hurriedly tried to dodge to the side, only to discover that space had been completely sealed. She could not move at all.
Then, a black shadow abruptly appeared behind Uriel and stabbed a dagger into her back.
Uriel opened her mouth and spat out a mouthful of holy white blood, her heart filled with unwillingness and indignation—the one who had sealed her was clearly God’s Cloak.
"Who gave you the nerve to lose focus in front of me?"
Elektra sneered. As the most elite assassin, she only needed one opening to kill her opponent.
"God will not let you off."
Uriel said hatefully. With her strength, having her heart pierced was not a fatal wound. However, terrifying power was contained in Elektra’s Vibranium dagger. Once that power erupted, her body would be torn apart.
"God? My Master is my God. I can do anything for him."
Elektra smiled disdainfully. At that moment, an immeasurable, irresistible, majestic phantom appeared between heaven and earth. Because its holy light was simply too intense, it felt as if all of Heaven had been filled by it.
Uriel and all the Angels cried out at once, "Heavenly Father!"
Wang Bert’s eyes narrowed as he turned toward the phantom, then sneered. "It is merely residual power. Do you think I would fear it?"
"Of course you should fear it, because I have decided to kill you at any cost."
Raphael flew up and shouted through gritted teeth, "Blood God, you will definitely die in Heaven today."
"Then come and try."
Wang Bert smiled disdainfully. Just as the great battle was about to erupt, a voice suddenly rang out. "Didn’t I tell you not to go too far? How did you force out even the power God left behind?"
Wang Bert turned his head and saw the eighteen-year-old Ancient One, with a full head of hair, traveling through space and flying into Heaven.
"Master, this isn’t my fault…"
Wang Bert was about to speak when he saw all the Angels, including Raphael, kneel to the ground in overwhelming excitement—Uriel knelt as well, not even caring that the Vibranium dagger was still inside her body.
Then, all the Angels cried out reverently, "Heavenly Father!"
"Huh?"
Wang Bert was stunned. Ancient One smiled slightly and waved his hand, making God’s phantom vanish immediately. Then, his clothes turned white, and his entire body radiated pure holy light too dazzling to look at directly.
Wang Bert understood a little. He asked, "Master, that bottle of blood was God’s Blood?"
Ancient One nodded with certainty. "That’s right, God’s Blood. I am God now."
"Why does having God’s Blood make you God?"
Wang Bert was puzzled. "Also, Master, where did your God’s Blood come from? Don’t tell me you secretly…"
Wang Bert made a throat-slitting gesture. Ancient One was speechless, while the Angels glared angrily at Wang Bert. Wang Bert spread his hands, indicating that his guess was perfectly reasonable.
"Unless God is willing, no one can obtain His blood. Since I possess God’s Blood, it means I am the successor acknowledged by God."
Ancient One said, "I am Ancient One, and I am also God."
To all Angels, Ancient One was equivalent to God’s incarnation, no different from God himself.
"I see. Ancient One God? Interesting."
Wang Bert suddenly understood and signaled Elektra to return to his shadow. No wonder Master had told him not to go too far. It turned out all of Heaven had been claimed by him. Heaven was essentially his private property.
Then, Ancient One beckoned toward Angel Gate, and the spatial hand imprisoning Gabriel and Michael flew directly inside.
