Godslaying
Ancient One waved her hand, and the giant hand of space vanished. Freed, Gabriel and Michael immediately knelt devoutly before Ancient One, their hearts overflowing with excitement. God had finally returned.
"Everything that happened before was a test for Heaven. Gabriel, your heart was not sincere."
Looking down at the kneeling Gabriel and Michael, Ancient One spoke loftily. Gabriel immediately confessed, "My Lord, I was wrong. I am willing to accept any punishment."
"Very good."
Ancient One nodded. Pointing at Wang Bert, she said, "Though he is a Vampire, he has reformed under my guidance. Heaven will change its rules from now on. Vampires will no longer be punished unless they drink the blood of living humans."
The angels suddenly understood. "No wonder the Vampires suddenly changed sides. No wonder the Blood God could wield the Spear of God and God’s Cloak. God was the one guiding them."
"Actually, the Blood God warned us long ago, but we failed to realize it."
Michael murmured, "Other than God, who else could make an ordinary person advance so quickly?"
Wang Bert was dumbfounded. How had all his credit ended up going to Ancient One?
Wang Bert sent a voice transmission. "Master, isn’t it a little inappropriate to steal your own disciple’s credit?"
"I’m helping clear your name."
Ancient One said irritably, "Once I have complete control over Heaven, I’ll try to lift the curse on you Vampires and turn you back into ordinary long-lived beings."
"That would be great."
Wang Bert nodded first, then carefully asked, "Master, did you actually get rid of God? If you did, I think purging Heaven would be better."
"Heh heh."
Ancient One could not be bothered with Wang Bert. She shouted, "Reform the ranks and prepare to protect Earth. Once this battle ends, you will follow me on an expedition to the Dark Dimension and destroy the Lord of Darkness."
Wang Bert’s eyes flickered. Light Ancient One and Dark Ancient One would ultimately have to settle who was stronger.
"Yes, My Lord."
All the angels answered in unison, their faces filled with excitement. To them, their Lord was everything. Fighting for their Lord was their glory.
At that moment, Ancient One noticed the Godly Shield on the ground. With a flick of her finger, the Godly Shield flew into Wang Bert’s hand. Wang Bert froze, then asked, "Master, aren’t you keeping it for protection?"
"I don’t need it."
Ancient One shook her head without further explanation. Looking at the tens of thousands of angels under Wang Bert’s command, she said, "Those angels will remain under you. Treat them better. Don’t use them as cannon fodder."
"I never treat my own people as cannon fodder."
Wang Bert shrugged and put away the Godly Shield—the ownership had already been changed. Then he said, "Master, I’ll head back and make preparations."
"Mm."
Ancient One nodded, then turned and flew toward Heaven’s highest peak, God’s residence. She was going to reclaim God’s power.
The four archangels immediately led the other angels as they escorted Ancient One back to the Sacred Place.
"Light Ancient One, Dark Ancient One… Master really knew how to have fun."
Wang Bert shook his head. He had previously worried that Light Ancient One would not be a match for Dark Ancient One, but now it seemed the two sides could put up quite a fight.
"Stop running if you’ve got guts."
In Brooklyn, Hulk charged through the streets like a tank as he pursued the Spider Demon God. Cars and buildings alike were smashed apart with thunderous crashes wherever he passed.
The Spider Demon God, several of Its legs broken and looking utterly wretched, fled while releasing massive numbers of spiders to delay Hulk and buy time to escape.
"Damn it, why do humans have a monster like this?"
The Spider Demon God cursed furiously. In Its earlier battle with Hulk, It had been completely outmatched—Its strength could not compare at all. Worse still, Hulk possessed absurd regeneration. Even after It finally managed to injure him, he recovered in the blink of an eye. How the hell was It supposed to fight that?
After several brutal exchanges and repeated injuries, the Spider Demon God chose to flee in defeat.
However, the Spider Demon God had not given up on the battle—It had been secretly drawing a Magic Array on the ground all along. That was why It had not taken to the air.
Once the Magic Array was complete, the Spider Demon God would bring Hulk back to the Spider Dimension and use the dimension’s power against him.
"Fortunately, this guy isn’t very bright and doesn’t know ranged attacks."
The Spider Demon God sneered inwardly and turned onto the road to the right—it needed to travel along that road to complete the Magic Array.
At that moment, a bone spear several meters long streaked over from afar, trailing a perfectly straight black line. The Spider Demon God could not dodge in time and was savagely pinned to the ground, shattering the pavement beneath It on impact.
Immediately afterward, the terrifying energy carried by the spear erupted, and the Spider Demon God could not help letting out a shrill scream.
But that was only the beginning. Using both hands, Hulk pulled bone spears from the Bone Wings on his back and hurled them at the Spider Demon God one after another.
The moment those bone spears were thrown, terrifying sonic booms erupted ahead. White shockwaves swept through the surroundings, blowing away not only the small spiders but even sending cars by the roadside flying.
Moreover, the Bone Wings continuously produced bone spears. In other words, the supply of bone spears was endless.
In just ten seconds, Hulk threw over a hundred bone spears, pinning the Spider Demon God completely to the ground. Its body was utterly wrecked, and It could not even stand.
"Were you thinking I wasn’t very smart and didn’t know ranged attacks? That I could only crudely throw rocks and cars?"
Hulk made a massive leap and landed before the Spider Demon God with a bang. He sneered, "Idiot, I was just playing with you. My javelin accuracy is one hundred percent. The Blood God made me practice it specifically. He said that as a warrior, I couldn’t have obvious weaknesses."
"Why did you know I was going to turn right?"
The Spider Demon God asked weakly. Hulk had anticipated Its movements, which was why It had been struck repeatedly.
"Because I saw through your Magic Array. Hulk is actually very smart."
Hulk grinned and pulled another several-meter-long spear from his back. Accompanied by a violent sonic boom, he viciously drove it into the Spider Demon God’s head. The Spider Demon God let out a shrill scream, Its entire body tensing up before It collapsed motionlessly a moment later.
"A Demon God is nothing special."
Hulk was utterly disdainful. At that moment, Dr. Banner reminded him, "Hulk, something’s wrong. A Demon God could not die that easily. It probably escaped. Also, seeing through the Magic Array was my achievement."
"We’re on the same side. What’s there to argue about?"
Hulk turned in a circle and quickly locked onto his target. Then, he leaped forcefully onto a spider and stomped it to death.
"How did you know I was in here?"
The Spider Demon God’s soul flew out, shouting in disbelief. Earlier, It had shed Its shell and fled into that spider’s body.
Hulk sneered. "Such obvious anger—how could I not see it? Do you think this God of Anger title is fake?"
"I’ll die with you!"
The Spider Demon God roared and charged desperately toward Hulk’s body. With a thought from Hulk, the Bone Wings abruptly curved forward and pierced the Spider Demon God’s soul.
Then, the Bone Wings began absorbing the Spider Demon God’s soul. The Spider Demon God cried out in terror, "What is this?"
"My body is already crowded enough. Don’t come in and add to the mess."
Hulk said, "These are divine artifact wings the Blood God made for me. They can house an artifact spirit. Since you delivered yourself to me, I won’t be polite. Serve me obediently from now on. Once I find a better one, I’ll replace you."
"No!"
The Spider Demon God screamed in terror, but It could not escape the Bone Wings’ suction. It was quickly absorbed into the wings.
Then, countless spider patterns appeared across the Bone Wings, making them look profoundly mystical.
Those wings had not been refined by Ancient One, but personally by Wang Bert.
Wang Bert had already learned seventy to eighty percent of Ancient One’s artifact-refining techniques—from the Blood God’s Projection. Clones, projections, and such were perfect for studying.
"Done, but I can’t call it a day yet."
Hulk exhaled and absorbed the Bone Wings into his body. Dr. Banner asked, "Hulk, you already know Bert isn’t dead. Why can you still maintain the God of Anger state? Where is your anger coming from?"
"My anger comes from those damned invaders. Earth was doing fine. It never provoked them, so what right did they have to invade us? Look around. A perfectly good New York has been beaten into this state. Who knows how much rebuilding will cost?"
Hulk looked at the ruins around him and cursed loudly. Dr. Banner said, "It is indeed infuriating, but then again, doesn’t most of the destruction seem to have been caused by you?"
"Why are you stating such obvious tr—no, what nonsense are you talking about? It was obviously caused by the Spider Demon God. What does it have to do with Hulk?"
Hulk shouted guiltily. Not most, perhaps, but at least half the destruction had something to do with him. It could not be helped—at his current level of power, even the wind from his punches could destroy buildings.
"God-level power is truly terrifying. We cannot let those Demon Gods enter Earth. But the Defense Net has been destroyed. How will we stop Them in the future? Uh, I should finish this battle before worrying about anything else."
Dr. Banner muttered to himself. Hulk could not be bothered with such matters and charged toward the other monsters nearby.
"Watch out, Hulk is coming."
As those words rang out, countless demonic creatures were reduced to pulp.
Wooooooaaaaaaaah…
In the Bat Dimension, Black Bolt unleashed an unprecedented Dolphin Sound. Though the Bat Demon God tried desperately to resist, Its body was still rapidly destroyed by the Sonic Wave.
When the Dolphin Sound reached its final note, the Bat Demon God was completely pulverized. Even Its soul suffered grievous damage, forcing It to hide by using the dimension’s power.
"Huh? Why didn’t I use the dimension’s power earlier? With my strength and the dimension’s power, killing that guy wouldn’t have been difficult."
The Bat Demon God was utterly confused. Had Its brain been kicked by a donkey? After hesitating for a moment, the Bat Demon God did not continue fighting Black Bolt head-on. It swiftly severed the connection between the Spider Dimension and Earth, preparing to flee.
At full strength, using the dimension’s power to kill Black Bolt would not have been difficult. The problem was that It did not even have one-tenth of Its original strength left.
Incidentally, the hundreds of thousands of Bat People around them had all been pulverized by the song. Black Bolt’s voice was just that overpowered.
"I finally have control over my power. The Blood God was right—I am the master of my power."
Black Bolt was exhilarated. Just now, he had used the rhythm of his singing to stack part of his power into the final Dolphin Sound. It was something he had never accomplished before, and it meant he could now control his superpowers.
Given enough time, Black Bolt would definitely gain complete mastery over his abilities and achieve a qualitative leap.
"Woof! Woof!" Tetanus barked repeatedly at the shrinking spatial crack. Black Bolt glanced up at it and said, "Go."
Tetanus did not waste any words. He carried Black Bolt out of that world.
Seeing Black Bolt leave, the Bat Demon God let out a sigh of relief, then sighed again. This time, It had suffered a huge loss.
"You’re sighing too early. You’re about to suffer an even greater loss."
At that moment, a voice suddenly rang out. The Bat Demon God was startled and hurriedly turned around, only to see a blood-colored vortex. Then, It was uncontrollably sucked into the vortex and turned into a new puppet.
"Trying to run? Keep dreaming."
The Blood God’s Projection sneered. Since It had dared invade Earth, It should have been prepared to die here.
In the void beyond the domain, the Time Loop began once again. Strange said, "I’m here to kill you and Kaecilius."
Strange said those words every time because he needed to remember the purpose of this journey.
Before Strange could finish speaking, Doom charged at the three laughing Crow Gods. Strange and Mordo immediately retreated at top speed.
"That madman."
Strange and Mordo both cursed. After thousands of nuclear explosions, Doom had devised a formula—a formula that could allow him to absorb nuclear energy and undergo a transformation.
The problem was that the formula had only a one-in-ten-thousand chance of success. In the previous several hundred attempts, Doom had failed every time. He died the moment the battle began—killed by the explosion of five nuclear bombs.
That was right, five nuclear bombs. It could not be helped. Doom’s business partner was rich, and after handling things for him a little, Doom had acquired many benefits—he actually had more than five nuclear bombs in his possession.
This time was no exception. After Doom rushed forward, he immediately unleashed five nuclear bombs. Before the three Crow Gods could react, he detonated them. Five blindingly brilliant white lights lit up the void, transforming the surrounding area into a high-temperature hell.
"My formula cannot be wrong. I will succeed."
Filled with confidence, Doom used magic power and electricity to tightly protect his body against the heat and radiation.
In the previous several hundred attempts, Doom had completely vanished after one minute. But this time, his body gradually began changing amid the radiation and heat. Even his electricity slowly shifted from blue to dark red.
"I succeeded. I knew I could succeed."
Doom was ecstatic. The formula indeed only had a one-in-ten-thousand probability, but Strange’s Time Loop had turned that one-in-ten-thousand chance into a certainty.
Leaving the transforming Doom aside for the moment, the five nuclear bombs were enormously powerful. Even the three Crow Gods were severely injured and fled into the distance with their wounded bodies.
Kaecilius and the others were screaming as well—their eyes and bodies had suffered immense damage at the same time. However, they had not died. On one hand, they had been farther away; on the other, there was no air in the void, greatly reducing a nuclear bomb’s destructive power.
Had this been on Earth, one Shockwave would have swept through them, killing both Kaecilius and Strange.
"Madman."
Kaecilius and the others cursed as they fled outward at top speed. Once they reached a safe area, they immediately activated the power of darkness, and their injuries visibly recovered.
Kaecilius and the others had already been transformed into dark bodies. As long as they had dark energy, they would not die.
