Arrival of the Dark Order
The superheroes discussed for a long time without coming up with a concrete plan. Such a powerful enemy already exceeded their expectations.
Just then, the Scarlet Witch, sitting at the very back of the seating area, suddenly froze in expression. A voice rang out in her mind: "Wanda, it’s Charles."
"Professor?" Regarding her father’s old rival, Wanda was of course very familiar with him. Not only was he Magneto’s old rival, but Professor X also possessed the strongest telepathic ability among mutants. Although her own abilities were primarily based on Chaos Magic, Chaos Magic could not be used casually; frequent use would cause her mental state to go awry and plunge her into mental confusion. Yet Professor X had secretly suppressed her mental abnormalities a few times. For this old man who likewise worried single-mindedly over the future of mutants, Wanda held a fair amount of respect.
"Wanda, I have already reached a consensus with your father. The Earth is about to usher in an unprecedented, colossal crisis. For the sake of mutants and Earth’s humanity, we have decided to join forces to fight the enemy. How are things over on your side right now?"
"The Captain and the others are still discussing…" Wanda glanced at the few people currently in the middle of a debate, rubbed her forehead, and replied in her mind.
"There is no time left!" the Professor sighed. The Earth truly was plagued with disasters: the conflicts and confrontations between mutants and ordinary humans, the ideological opposition among mutants—such as that between himself and Magneto—and the various enemies the superheroes faced. The recent Ultron disaster had just been resolved, and now they were about to welcome the terrifying Dark Order, along with the final, most terrifying and powerful boss, Thanos.
"Erik and I are coming over now!"
For the peace of the Earth, even with differing ideologies, the Brotherhood of Mutants and the X-Men had no choice but to unite to counter the coming evil forces.
"Alright!"
Wanda raised her head to look at the crowd still locked in a heated debate, and spoke up: "Professor Charles and my father will be coming over shortly. They also know about the approaching enemy and are preparing to join forces to counter the evil faction!"
"The Professor is coming? That’s just great. With the mutants joining us, our odds of winning against the Dark Order have increased by another fraction." Captain America said with a smile.
"Magneto?" Black Widow frowned slightly. Magneto’s reputation was not exactly stellar; the ideology of the Brotherhood of Mutants had always been that they stood above ordinary humans. In their view, mutants were the evolutionary product of humanity, the future of mankind, and the path of civilization’s development. Earth’s humans should revere mutants above all.
"Romanoff, before the Earth’s crisis, no matter what Erik has done in the past, he is an Earthling. We should trust him!" Captain America looked at Black Widow and said in a deep voice.
"Are you certain Erik won’t temporarily betray us? Perhaps he will feel that the Dark Order destroying humanity is the correct choice, and by then the Earth will belong entirely to the mutants!" Black Widow glanced at Wanda and said nonchalantly.
"No, the Dark Order won’t bother distinguishing between ordinary humans and mutants. In their view, the people on Earth, no matter who they are, are merely ordinary species to be killed at whim!" Thor said.
"We can discuss it once they get here." Tony took a sip of his coffee and said.
Just as everyone was waiting, Nick Fury’s call came through.
"Steve, the space agency has discovered an alien spaceship about to arrive at Earth. Judging from the signals sent from the ship, the other party harbors no malice. Come to the Department of Defense right now. The information the visitors revealed is related to the impending crisis facing Earth."
"Alright, we’re heading over now."
Captain America looked at the Scarlet Witch and said, "Wanda, let the Professor and Erik know to head directly to the Department of Defense. There are new developments."
"What’s going on?"
Everyone looked perplexed.
"A spaceship is about to arrive at Earth, and Nick wants us to hurry over!" Captain America said.
"What?"
"The Dark Order arrived early?"
"No way, could the information be mistaken?"
Seeing this, Captain America said, "It seems they aren’t people from the Dark Order. The other side only has a single spaceship, and they harbor no malice."
"Then let’s hurry over."
The arrival of the Guardians of the Galaxy brought the Avengers the latest news about the Dark Order, as well as Thanos’s strength and the reasons and objectives behind this war launched by Thanos.
As for the protagonist who triggered this whole affair, Xiao Hen had just emerged from the Super String Space at this moment. He currently held the Time Stone, the Space Stone, the Power Stone, and the Mind Stone—a total of four out of the six Infinity Stones were in his hands. If Thanos wanted to gather all six, he had to face Xiao Hen as a formidable enemy. Of course, likewise for Xiao Hen, Thanos holding the Reality Stone and the Soul Stone meant he was also an opponent he had to face.
Standing on the boundless plain, watching the wild rabbits and flying birds occasionally bounding out from the distant brush, Xiao Hen raised his head with a calm expression. The sky was as blue as a wash, yet his gaze pierced through the sky, casting into the distant cosmic void. Right there, hundreds of space battleships several thousand meters long were materializing from the void.
Imprinted upon these battleships were bizarre black patterns, which exuded an eerie aura. Needless to say, these were the space battleships of the Dark Order.
Hundreds of such massive space battleships were far more powerful than any enemies the superheroes on Earth had encountered before. Putting aside individual strength, these battleships alone could scour the Earth from end to end. The built-in weapons on these battleships were extremely powerful; if the main and secondary cannons fired together, the Earth could not withstand it.
"This matter ultimately arose because of me. Even if I didn’t care about the life and death of this Marvel Universe Earth, I ultimately have to face Thanos. Rather than that, why not just wipe out this Dark Order?" With this thought, Xiao Hen prepared to take action.
The power of the Dark Order compared to that of Earth was far too disproportionate. If he did not make a move, even if the Asgardians acted, it would be difficult to protect the Earth.
The Dark Order had passed directly through a teleportation portal to reach the Solar System. This was merely one of the four legions of the Dark Order, led by one of its four commanders.
This commander was named Cull Obsidian, one of Thanos’s four great warlords. These four warlords were: Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian.
This time, Cull Obsidian undertook a heavy responsibility as the commander leading the army to Earth. First, he was to detect the number of Infinity Stones possessed by Earth, and then eradicate Earth’s powerhouses as much as possible. Once he had precise information on the Infinity Stones, he was to notify Thanos, upon which Thanos would descend to claim the Infinity Stones.
Cull Obsidian and the other three were all adopted sons of Thanos, children he had taken in during interstellar wars, and they possessed formidable strength. And now, Cull Obsidian descended upon Earth!
