Artificial God, Resource Star
After returning from the Dragon Dimension, Wang Bert began taking stock of Tivan’s collection. Before long, a golden cocoon caught his attention.
"There’s a life inside this cocoon. A very powerful life."
Wang Bert sensed the situation within the cocoon and was somewhat surprised. After thinking for a moment, he connected to the spatial prison and asked Tivan, "Tivan, where did you get this cocoon?"
"Could you ring the doorbell first?"
Tivan said displeasedly, "What cocoon?"
Wang Bert projected the image of the cocoon for Tivan. Tivan took one look and said, "That’s a Sovereign Genetic Artificial Human."
"A Genetic Artificial Human?"
"Yes. They wanted to use genetic technology to create gods."
Tivan said, "This cocoon was the final product they created by mobilizing the entire nation. Unfortunately, she isn’t unique. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have given her to you."
Wang Bert asked in surprise, "She isn’t unique?"
"That’s right. The Sovereigns created two Genetic Artificial Humans in total, one male and one female. The male is still in the Sovereigns’ possession."
Tivan replied, "The female is the one before you."
Wang Bert was a little astonished. "Two gods, one male and one female? Did they want to play God and create a divine race?"
"With the Sovereigns’ arrogant personality, what’s strange about them wanting to create a divine race?"
Wang Bert asked, "How did you get your hands on something so important?"
"Someone sold it to me. Money can do many things."
Tivan said, "If this incident hadn’t happened, I would have hired someone to steal the other one back."
"Is that so?"
Wang Bert asked, "How do I make the Artificial Human inside the cocoon be born?"
"This Artificial Human hasn’t finished developing. If you want her to be born, you must go to the Sovereigns."
Tivan said, "However, they definitely won’t agree unless you return the cocoon to them. Besides, with that bunch’s personality, if they learn about this, they’ll definitely hound you relentlessly."
"Something that has entered my hands, and they still want me to return it? Dream on."
Wang Bert smiled disdainfully and said, "Tivan, you answered well. I’ll reduce your sentence by ten years."
"How can ten years be enough? At least a hundred years!"
Tivan shouted, but Wang Bert’s consciousness had already left. No one answered him.
"This time, there was another major gain: Tivan’s extensive experience."
Wang Bert smiled slightly. As he gazed at the golden cocoon before him, there was a hint of heat in his eyes. An Artificial God? Interesting.
"Dr. Richards needs to study Gladiator and the other things, so he probably won’t have time. Looks like I can only use that one."
Wang Bert carried the golden cocoon back to the deepest part of Blood God Manor’s basement, where a freezing machine was operating.
Wang Bert operated the machine and thawed the person sealed inside. He slowly opened his eyes, looking confused at first, then smugly at Wang Bert. "Blood God, you still couldn’t bear to part with my wisdom after all."
This person was none other than Lizard Doctor. That was right, Wang Bert had not truly killed him. He had merely frozen him.
This man’s intelligence was simply too valuable.
Wang Bert said nothing more. He flicked a drop of blood onto Lizard Doctor’s forehead. It was the Blood God Puppet Technique.
Even with the Blood God Puppet Technique, I still can’t let my guard down around this guy. He won’t harm me, but his research results might wreak havoc on the world.
Wang Bert thought to himself. Evil scientists like this were too troublesome. That was why he had never activated him before.
"Wow, Blood God, this ability of yours is amazing. I feel like you’re my father now, and I don’t want to betray you at all."
Lizard Doctor said in some surprise, "That’s good too. You won’t have to worry about me betraying you anymore. Blood God, hurry up and give me funding and supplies. I want to continue researching cloning and genetic technology."
"I really want to freeze you again."
Wang Bert could not help shaking his head. He pointed at the golden cocoon and said, "Thoroughly study the technology on it, then cultivate the Artificial Human inside."
"An Artificial Human?"
Lizard Doctor’s eyes lit up. He stepped forward and carefully examined the golden cocoon. After a moment, he said impatiently, "Get me instruments right away. I need to analyze this alien object. Its technology is far more advanced than Earth’s."
"It is indeed an alien object."
Wang Bert briefly introduced the situation on Sovereign, then said, "This is their greatest creation. A god."
"Wow, if only I could be reincarnated on Sovereign. That would be the place of my dreams."
Lizard Doctor wore a look of longing. Wang Bert scoffed. "What’s so good about a world where everything is rigidly fixed?"
The Sovereigns’ genetic technology was extremely advanced. If they needed a warrior, they would formulate an embryo with warrior genes and then cultivate it in a life pod.
After growing up, that person would become a qualified warrior. The problem was that he could only become a warrior and could not become anything else.
It could be said that the fate of one’s entire life was decided from the very beginning.
"That would be the best kind of world, with perfect order…"
Lizard Doctor was about to launch into a lengthy speech when Wang Bert directly cut him off. "Give me a list of the instruments. I’ll get them for you. Remember, every formal experiment must receive my approval."
Lizard Doctor said indifferently, "No problem. I can’t resist your orders anyway."
After saying that, Lizard Doctor wrote a long list and handed it to Wang Bert. Wang Bert glanced at it, then turned and left.
"What a rich tycoon."
Lizard Doctor could not help whistling. The instruments on that list were worth billions, yet Wang Bert had not even blinked. He really was absurdly wealthy.
Money was truly nothing more than numbers to the current Wang Bert. He gave the list to Lilith and had her gather everything, then contacted Wakanda’s king, Erik. "I have nine Avenging Angels. You should know what to do, right?"
"You and Shuri have used too much Vibranium lately. The elders have quite a few objections."
Erik said with a headache, "That bunch is extremely stubborn."
Wang Bert said, "At worst, I’ll give Wakanda a little more alien technology. Besides, the bit of Vibranium I want is less than a fraction of a fraction for Wakanda, isn’t it?"
"They’re obsessed with Vibranium. Any loss at all makes them heartbroken."
Erik thought for a moment, then said, "Never mind that. I’ll help you gather the Vibranium you need as soon as possible.
By the way, if you have extra true dragons, give me one. I feel like I’m too weak."
"No problem. There won’t be any shortage of Dragon Bone or Dragon Soul in the future."
Wang Bert smiled and hung up. With the Avenging Angels and the Hell Vibranium Chariots, even facing the main fleets of the Three Great Empires alone would not be a problem.
"My strength and influence are growing stronger and stronger."
One month later, Xandar officially visited Earth, causing a global sensation. This was the first official alien delegation Earth had ever received.
To be honest, the Xandarian delegation was somewhat surprised by Earth’s backwardness. It was completely mismatched with Earth’s high-end combat power. The two could be said to be disconnected.
However, overall, Xandar was quite satisfied with Earth. The two sides officially established diplomatic relations a month later and built embassies in each other’s territories. Earth had taken an important step forward.
At the same time, Xandar gave Earth a Resource Star. Everyone on Earth was extremely excited. Earth now had a new planet.
"This planet was discovered by the Xandarians a few months ago. It has a large amount of White Crystal Mine. White Crystal is one of the fuels used by spacecraft engines."
On White Crystal Star, which was covered everywhere in primeval forests, Tony flew through the air and explained to Wang Bert, "Xandar is quite sincere. A Resource Star like this would sell for at least several billion on the market."
"That’s not much."
Everyone looked at Wang Bert speechlessly. It was not much to a super tycoon like him, but the combined cosmic currency of the entire Earth did not even reach five digits.
"Besides White Crystal, this planet has many other specialties. For example, there’s a special kind of Mind Calming Tree. Its leaves can aid sleep, and the Sovereigns have been buying them in large quantities on the market for a long time."
Tony continued, "I heard their sleep quality is poor, and they need Mind Calming Tree leaves to help them sleep."
After a pause, Tony scoffed. "Of course, that’s normal. They keep their noses in the air every day, so their necks must be in terrible shape. Bad necks naturally mean bad sleep."
Everyone burst into laughter. Wang Bert said disdainfully, "Tony, you can’t badmouth her behind her back just because she rejected you. That’s very ungentlemanly."
"She rejected me? I rejected her."
Tony snorted. "The people of Sovereign are arrogantly unbearable."
"In fact, that’s how most forces in the universe evaluate the Sovereigns."
Wang Bert shook his head. Last month, Sovereign had sent a beautiful woman with an excellent face and figure to discuss delivery services with him.
This beauty had been extremely enthusiastic toward Wang Bert, so enthusiastic that she seemed to want to devour him. However, Wang Bert had no interest in her and had kept distancing himself from her.
Tony, on the other hand, had been quite taken with the woman. Relying on his decades of experience as a playboy, he went over to flirt with her.
In the end, the beauty looked disgusted and said with her nose in the air, "Primitive life-form, do not approach me."
Tony had nearly exploded. He was Tony Stark, a man who had dominated the dating scene for decades. When had he ever been looked down upon like that?
Tony curled his lip unhappily. "Forget it. Besides abundant resources, this planet also has many monsters. They’re extremely dangerous and are the greatest obstacle to our development of this world."
"It’s a primitive planet. That’s normal."
"Why did the Earth Federation choose this planet?"
Natasha asked curiously, "Shouldn’t there be planets that have already been developed?"
"We chose this planet because it has no intelligent life. Given Earth’s current situation, dealing with intelligent life would be too difficult."
Tony explained, "It also gives those armies, mercenaries, and superpowered people something to do. This planet will be Earth’s starting point for entering the universe."
"Leave the development to you. I’ll just wait to collect the money."
Wang Bert said lazily. He owned quite a few shares in this planet, and the Blood God Group would also participate in its development.
"You’re dumping all the work on us again."
Tony said unhappily, "Earth currently has no way to make long-distance voyages here. You have to open a permanent portal."
"Within a year, I’ll open a portal. After that year, you can figure it out yourselves."
Wang Bert said, "All right, that’s enough for today. The Sovereigns invited me to visit Sovereign, so I’m going to take a look around. Tony, want to come? Maybe there’ll be some glittering beauty who doesn’t despise you."
"Get lost."
Tony viciously raised his middle finger at Wang Bert and gritted his teeth. "Those Nose-Hole People will regret it someday. I have the best genes of any man on Earth."
"Right. Everything is great except for hiding in the study every day."
"Get lost."
On a planet somewhere in the Milky Way Galaxy, a green monster more than three meters tall roared furiously as he punched a pirate chariot in front of him flat.
"Kill that monster!"
The pirates shouted in alarm and fury, controlling their warships to fire wildly at the green monster.
The green monster grew even more enraged. He charged forward through the barrage, then leaped over a hundred meters into the air and slammed a fist into a warship. The warship split in half and exploded with a boom.
The green monster’s rage did not subside. With bloodshot eyes, he activated the device on his left wrist and shot into the sky, rapidly flying toward the pirate flagship.
"Stop it!"
The pirates panicked and activated their energy cannons, blasting fiercely at the green monster. The green monster nimbly dodged in midair, then tore through the flagship’s shield and charged in with towering fury.
The green monster was utterly enraged. He killed anyone he saw and destroyed every machine in sight, like a god of destruction descended upon the world. Though the pirates did their best to resist, they could not stop the enormous monster as he forcibly broke through their defenses all the way.
Star-Lord piloted the Milano, dodging the pirates’ attacks as he said, "Our big guy seems pretty angry."
"To be precise, he’s gone berserk. This is the first time I’ve seen him this angry, so enraged that he’s lost his mind and only wants to destroy everything."
Betty sighed, "These pirates deserve to die."
Gamora cursed through gritted teeth. Beneath them was a city destroyed by space pirates! Truly destroyed—corpses, blood, and flames were everywhere. This city had originally housed at least a hundred thousand people, but now only a little over ten thousand were still alive.
Hulk had never seen such a horrific scene. He immediately went berserk, jumped from the Milano, and took on an entire space pirate group by himself.
It was truly too tragic.
"Space pirates do deserve to die, but isn’t challenging an entire space pirate group a little too reckless?"
Rocket shouted as he controlled an Energy Gun and fired wildly, "That’s an entire space pirate group! Under normal circumstances, we should be running away."
"We shouldn’t run. Let me down. I want to fight alongside Hulk."
Drax shouted, "He is a real man. Neither you nor Star-Lord are."
Star-Lord shouted indignantly, "Fine, say that about Rocket, but why am I not a real man? Can’t you see my eight-pack abs?"
Drax said honestly, "No. All I see is fat."
Everyone burst into laughter. Betty shook her head and said, "Rocket, the pirates plundered a great deal of wealth. If we eliminate them, one-tenth of that wealth will belong to us."
"One-tenth of the wealth?"
Rocket and Star-Lord’s eyes immediately lit up. Rocket asked, "Why not all of it? One-tenth is far too little."
"The rest has to be returned to this city."
Betty sighed. "It’s truly too tragic. Why are there such cruel space pirates?"
