At the Door
After Knull’s projection vanished, Chthon sneered into the void. "Just as expected. Death wants to put dog collars on us and make us Its dogs."
A cloaked figure suddenly appeared in the void and said with a smile, "Death is destined to be disappointed, because you are not dogs. You are Demon Gods who eat people."
"Of course we aren’t dogs. Not only do we eat people, we destroy worlds."
Chthon burst into laughter. "The Living Tribunal and the Five Creator Gods drove us out of the Main Universe, leaving us unable to advance and forcing us to wander the Extraterritorial Void. We will settle this score with them sooner or later."
"That is your business."
The Cloaked Man said, "Great Demon God, don’t forget what you promised me."
"What grudge do you have against Earth? You went to such great lengths just to destroy it?"
Chthon asked curiously. The Demon God Alliance had been established so quickly largely thanks to the Cloaked Man—he had brought news that Galactus was keeping the Blood God occupied.
"I have no grudge against Earth. I simply want to destroy it."
The Cloaked Man smiled. "Earth must be destroyed. That is all."
"I’m becoming more and more curious about your identity."
Chthon said. Even He could not see the other party’s appearance clearly.
"What identity could I possibly have? I’m just an insignificant little person."
The Cloaked Man smiled and said, "I won’t disturb you any longer, Great Demon God. If there is any news from the Blood God’s side, I will notify you immediately."
"Good. Come to think of it, I truly want to meet the Blood God."
Chthon said, "A life I created actually became a Creator God before I did. How interesting."
The Cloaked Man said, "The Blood God is only a Creator God in name. Outside the Main Universe, He is no match for you."
Chthon narrowed His eyes. "In other words, within the Main Universe, I am no match for him?"
"In the Main Universe, only a Creator God can defeat the Blood God."
After leaving those words behind, the Cloaked Man vanished. Chthon snorted coldly, His gaze turning incomparably icy. A mighty creator was actually weaker than His own creation—how could He possibly swallow that humiliation? "Blood God, we will meet sooner or later. This is our destiny."
Chthon muttered to Himself, then began contacting the other Demon Gods.
The other Demon Gods were all dissatisfied with Death’s terms, but under Chthon’s persuasion, they still chose to accept. After all, having an opportunity was better than having none.
The Demon Gods muttered to themselves, "Everything has only just begun."
Inside the Celestial Head, Bald Wang Bert edited a video while saying, "The Demon Gods are getting too arrogant. Looks like I’ll have to act ahead of schedule."
"Master, you’re showing off again."
Mindy complained. Wang Bert knocked her on the head and said, "You little brat, you have so little faith in your Master?"
"I have faith in Master, but I don’t have faith in you. Even though you have the head of someone who calls himself strong."
Mindy said, "Master, when will your main body return from Galactus’s side?"
"Not anytime soon. I’m not confident I can defeat Galactus yet."
Wang Bert shook his head. "Mindy, go call Eddie over. They rendered great service this time and must be properly rewarded."
"Okay."
Mindy nodded and went out to get him. Before long, Eddie walked in. When he saw Wang Bert, he was a little surprised. So Creator Gods could be bald too? Wang Bert said flatly, "I sense that you are thinking something highly disrespectful about me."
Eddie gave an awkward smile and was about to explain when Venom emerged and said, "He’s wondering why you’re bald."
Eddie gritted his teeth. "Venom."
"Because I’m strong enough."
Wang Bert smiled. "Eddie, Venom, you did well this time. I officially welcome you into the Avengers."
Eddie was a little excited. "Does that mean I’m a Super Hero now?"
Wang Bert shook his head. "Yes, but don’t get your hopes up too high. People always prefer handsome men and beautiful women. With Venom’s appearance, you won’t be very popular."
Eddie hurriedly asked, "Blood God, can you separate Venom and me? I heard S.W.O.R.D. has cloning technology. I wouldn’t mind switching to a new body."
"Dream on. Don’t even think about getting rid of me."
Venom shouted, "Blood God, I’m the one mainly responsible for this achievement. You should reward me, not Eddie."
Eddie looked disgusted. "Don’t you dare make that request. It’s disgusting."
Venom was about to say something, but Wang Bert waved his hand. "Stop arguing. You are one entity and cannot be separated. This time, you rendered great service, so I will raise you to the god level."
"Raised to the god level? Really?"
Venom was somewhat excited, and Eddie’s eyes lit up as well. He knew very well what a god-level powerhouse represented—the top combat strength on Earth.
"It won’t be a problem."
Wang Bert smiled. He had killed Knull several times and had plenty of Symbiotes on hand. Enhancing Venom would be easy.
Wang Bert said, "However, after advancing, you will have to fight on the Frontlines. The Frontlines are severely lacking powerful fighters right now."
"No problem. I can take some photos from the Frontlines and send reports back to Earth while I’m at it."
Eddie said. Venom did not object either. If it could become god-level, let alone fight on the Frontlines, it would even kiss men if asked.
"Good."
Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. With a wave of his hand, a large amount of black goo flew out and completely enveloped Eddie.
Eddie was overjoyed. "Hahaha, a god-level powerhouse! Let’s see who dares call me a loser now!"
"The one becoming a god-level powerhouse is me, not you."
Sensing Eddie’s thoughts, Venom sneered. "You are destined to be a loser for the rest of your life. Even if you aren’t one, I’ll make sure you become one."
"Venom, I’ll fight you to the death!"
Eddie roared, yet did not move at all—he had no way to move, nor did he dare. How could an Earth loser like him possibly be Venom’s match? "Young people really are full of energy."
Sensing Eddie and Venom’s bickering, Wang Bert could not help shaking his head. Eddie and Venom’s souls had already fused together. They would never be separated in this lifetime.
A moment later, Wang Bert finished editing the video. He stretched, opened a portal, and teleported onto Galactus’s spaceship.
Wang Bert glanced at Galactus, took Knull’s soul from the void, and said to his main body, "I’ll leave the shield forging to you. I’m going to take a stroll through other dimensions."
His main body accepted Knull’s soul and nodded. "Go. Don’t tarnish my reputation."
"Don’t worry, I definitely won’t. I’m Invincible King."
The Bald Clone chuckled and opened a portal to the Extraterritorial Void. After he left, Galactus, who had remained cold and indifferent, said, "He possesses a very special kind of power."
"That is my specially made power of invincibility."
Wang Bert said, "Below Creator God level, he is invincible."
Hearing this, Silver Surfer could not help glancing at Wang Bert. This guy really knew how to brag.
Unlike Silver Surfer, Galactus nodded and said, "I did not expect you to have such a trump card. Death underestimated you after all."
Wang Bert asked, "You won’t tell Death about this, will you?"
Galactus said, "Your affairs have nothing to do with me. I only want to go to Earth."
Wang Bert chuckled. "Galactus, while you’re still alive, eat as much as you can."
Galactus said, "You cannot kill me. Besides, if I die, this universe will perish."
Wang Bert was stunned. "What do you mean?"
"Exactly what it says."
Galactus said nothing more, closing His eyes and waiting for His meal. Wang Bert frowned slightly, then snorted. What a load of mystery.
Shaking his head, Wang Bert picked up Knull’s soul and began forging the Cosmic Captain Shield. After all these years of training, his artifact-refining skills were no longer inferior to Ancient One’s.
Generally speaking, Ancient Gods would choose a plane as their Prime Plane. They could control everything within it, including energy, space, time, and so on. Even Creator Gods would not dare enter an Ancient God’s plane lightly.
However, there were always exceptions. Some Ancient Gods had no Prime Plane of their own, such as Knull and the female Ancient God Astros.
At this moment, Astros was playing bandit in a certain dimension. Yes, a bandit. She directly ordered the Demon God of this dimension to serve her, then ate and drank to her heart’s content while indulging herself loudly.
The robbed Demon God was filled with misery, yet did not dare reveal the slightest hint of it, because He could not bear the consequences.
Wang Bert walked into the banquet hall, sat down as if it were his own home, then peeled a piece of fruit and asked, "Say, isn’t this a little beneath you for a mighty Ancient God?"
"What are you? How dare you disturb Lord Astros’s banquet?"
The Demon God shouted furiously. Astros glanced at Him and sneered. "You’ve got guts. You dare roar at a Creator God?"
"A Creator God?"
The Demon God was so frightened He nearly collapsed to the ground. Was His luck really that "good" today? First He encountered a bandit Ancient God, and now a bald Creator God had come in as well?
Wang Bert waved his hand. "Take all your people and leave. Don’t ruin my mood."
The intelligent life forms of this plane looked like Toads. Wang Bert had no interest in them whatsoever.
"Yes, we’ll leave immediately. Thank you, Creator God, for sparing me."
The Demon God was overjoyed and hurriedly led everyone away—though this was His palace, it no longer belonged to Him at this moment.
Leaning back in his chair, Wang Bert asked, "Astros, you still haven’t answered my question."
Astros said casually, "What’s beneath me about it? The strong devour the weak. I’m stronger than them, so they must serve me. It’s that simple."
Wang Bert asked again, "Is that so? Why don’t you manage a plane of your own? You should know very well what benefits a Prime Plane offers."
"Two reasons. First, it isn’t easy to find a large plane suitable for me. Those small planes simply cannot contain my power."
Astros answered, "Second, I don’t like staying in the same place for too long. I like wandering around."
"Wouldn’t it be better to send projections out to wander? If your main body runs around everywhere and encounters danger, you might end up beyond redemption."
Wang Bert tossed the fruit into his mouth. "This fruit tastes good. I’ll pack some to take back later."
"You say I’m low-class, yet aren’t you doing the same thing, eating and taking?"
Astros complained. "My projections are wandering around too. Double the fun."
Wang Bert laughed. "You’re quite interesting. I’m almost reluctant to kill you."
"As if you could kill me."
Astros sneered. "Hey, you’re a Creator God. Isn’t it a bit improper for you to keep staring at my chest?"
"Who told you to dress so lightly?"
Wang Bert said, "Honestly, I am a little tempted by you."
Whether it was her face or figure, Astros was top-notch. Combined with her identity as an Ancient God, it was only natural for Wang Bert to be tempted—rarity made things valuable.
"You really are frank. Too bad you’re not the main body. Otherwise, I truly wouldn’t mind rolling around with you. Sleeping with a Creator God should feel pretty good."
Astros smiled. "All right, enough nonsense. Let’s get to the point. Blood God, how did you find me? And why did you come looking for me?"
"Finding you was not difficult. I only had to pay a small price."
Wang Bert smiled. "As for why I came, it’s simple. I want you to withdraw from the Demon God Alliance!"
Astros sneered. "Why should I withdraw? This is an opportunity that comes once in ten thousand years."
"Because if you don’t withdraw, you will die."
Wang Bert said flatly, "I will beat you to death, and then you will become my puppet and fight for me."
"Who gave you the courage to say something like that?"
Astros was somewhat enraged. She kicked the table over and shouted, "I wouldn’t fear even your main body, much less a mere clone of yours!"
Wang Bert stood up. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Invincible King—the Invincible King who is invincible below Creator God level."
"Hahahaha!"
Astros laughed as if she had heard the funniest joke in the world. "Invincible below Creator God level? Not even your main body can do that, much less you. Blood God, don’t think that being recognized as a Creator God by the Living Tribunal makes you a true Creator God.
Right now, you are merely an Ancient God."
"I never lie. You think I’m boasting because you don’t understand me yet."
Wang Bert said seriously, "Astros, withdraw, or die."
"Then let me see whether you really are invincible. Hmph, if you can truly beat me, I’ll let you play with me for three thousand years."
Astros snorted and raised her hand, firing two massive beams of Black Light at Wang Bert.
"Your offer is very tempting, but I don’t know you well enough to know whether you’ll keep your promise. So it’s better to beat you to death."
Wang Bert brought his hands together. His clothes exploded with a bang, revealing a body covered in strange red patterns. Immediately afterward, the patterns lit up, and the surrounding time instantly slowed.
"Time Concept?"
Astros shouted in shock through her psychic power, "Blood God, are you insane? You actually gave a concept to a clone? And a god-level clone at that?"
"Don’t measure a god-tier tycoon with your impoverished pockets. I have plenty of concepts."
Wang Bert said arrogantly. The next moment, the patterns on his body flew off like living creatures, weaving together around him to form a massive combat arena.
That was right, a combat arena—a vast empty space with a central platform as large as a city.
Once the space formed, Wang Bert and Astros were simultaneously pulled onto the platform, facing each other from hundreds of meters apart.
"This space?"
Astros frowned. This space was far from ordinary. It contained the power of concepts, like a Little Universe.
How should it be put? Though small, it had everything it needed.
