Bai Jiming

EX00? King?

Although Bai Cangshu had already seen the answer in Song Xian’s heart through mind-reading, he was still somewhat puzzled.

He now knew that the card which had initially made him a target of public criticism and sent him directly into the space to become a Reincarnator was the most special item created by The Three Supreme Kings with a vast amount of authority for some purpose.

Even The Chosen, a group favored by the space, could never possibly create on their own an item that possessed several top-tier functions at once: selecting Reincarnators, initiating unique trials, and granting unique abilities.

There were fifty-two cards in total. Each had its own face, and they were divided into different categories.

Twenty-two Tarot Sequence cards, twelve Destiny Sequence cards, eight Virtue Sequence cards, seven Great Sin Sequence cards, and… the three most mysterious cards, whose faces and sequences had never been known to anyone!

Each category corresponded to a special type of Reincarnator. Reincarnators without the required aptitude found them difficult to activate, and even if they did activate one, completing its trial was difficult.

Based on the intelligence currently available:

The Tarot Sequence could only be activated by those with the identity of The Chosen;

The Destiny Sequence was the vaguest. It seemed linked to abilities of the Fate Aspect, leaving behind only the phrase: bestowed upon those destined for it;

Both the Virtue and Great Sin Sequences corresponded to trials of astonishing difficulty, nearly the hardest among all the cards. Thus, those who could complete either kind of trial were all considered exceptional.

"Song Xian, where did you learn this?"

Song Xian looked at Bai Cangshu, who sat directly in midair without using an Avatar to conceal his face. Though he had long accepted the reality that the fearsome monster Mercenary Tao in the space was the student Bai Cangshu he had seen at Binhai University, he still occasionally felt dazed.

Once upon a time, the other man had merely been an ordinary person…

The corner of Bai Cangshu’s mouth curled up. He found it somewhat amusing that Song Xian could still regard who he once was as an "ordinary person."

"A woman gave us this information. She called herself—the King of Destiny!"

Crackle!

Song Xian blinked once. Mercenary Tao vanished before his eyes, blue-white currents flashed through the air, and his muscles tensed almost instinctively as Armament Haki emerged over his body.

At the same time, his body began displaying signs of Elementalization.

But in the next instant, two fingers pressed against the temples on either side of his head.

Fine currents burrowed into his forehead, and then he felt his brain heat up slightly. Unable to stop himself, he began recalling the woman’s appearance.

Bai Cangshu saw her clearly. She was a curvaceous woman with long golden hair, dressed in an out-of-season white sweater beneath a pink coat. Her entire being gave off a unique bearing.

It was the feeling of naturally occupying the center of the world. Even within Song Xian’s memories, she still unconsciously occupied the center of that scene.

She held a card in her hand. Its back was black, adorned with elaborate silver patterns that outlined the shape of infinity. As the woman turned the card over—

Bai Cangshu saw a figure seated upon a throne. The figure had no face and was formed only from lines, gleaming with all kinds of luster beneath the sunlight.

The upper-left corner of the card was clearly marked with the sequence number EX00?, while the center bore the words God King.

Bai Cangshu had thought the King of Destiny had deliberately held something back and refused to tell Song Xian the exact number. He had not expected that the card itself was marked with a question mark.

In other words, perhaps the remaining three most mysterious cards would not be directly labeled 1, 2, and 3. Put another way, whoever was stronger would be 001?

Bai Cangshu withdrew his hand and looked at Song Xian, whose breathing was slightly unsettled. The other man’s current strength could no longer pose any threat to him.

"A card face alone isn’t enough to make me act for you."

Song Xian naturally understood that. He added,

"Actually, this isn’t merely a deal between us and you. It’s also a deal from the King of Destiny."

"We hope you can eliminate the Reincarnator codenamed Mad King."

Bai Cangshu’s grin widened. He was becoming increasingly interested in the Reincarnator who called himself Mad King.

That man had actually managed to provoke the displeasure of so many factions in succession.

"With the King of Destiny’s strength, even if she didn’t act personally, she could find someone reliable enough to get rid of him. Why would she need to…"

Before Bai Cangshu could finish, he understood. He was the blade chosen by the King of Destiny.

Song Xian coming to find him had, in truth, been that woman’s intention.

There was no need to spell it out. Many times, one only needed to push events into a logical course, and the developments afterward would naturally unfold as one desired.

"As compensation, we have already located the Reincarnator whose true identity is Bai Jiming."

"He has now fled from a southeastern coastal city toward the inland mountain regions. He probably sensed the pressure coming from The Heaven."

As he spoke, Song Xian took out a tablet. The data within was precisely what The Heaven had provided on the agile Great Sin Reincarnator codenamed Temur.

Song Xian handed the tablet to Bai Cangshu. Besides Bai Jiming’s real name, the file also included several clear photographs from his daily life.

He knew that Mercenary Tao should still possess the Death Note Fragment. Information of this degree was enough to carry out a Curse Kill.

Bai Cangshu gave a mute laugh. He realized he had somewhat underestimated the power of a major nation like East Xia.

Once this enormous national machine truly began operating, it might not necessarily be able to do much to nimble individual Reincarnators.

But digging up all of a Reincarnator’s information—even uncovering his life story and everyone connected to him—was not difficult.

"It seems that Mad King has indeed given you quite a headache~"

If the matter had not been extremely troublesome, Bai Cangshu felt that Song Xian and his group would not have been so eager to seek his cooperation.

And they had practically accommodated him to the utmost. They gave him the location, proactively provided the name and photographs. If he wished, he could Curse Kill the other party right now.

Song Xian’s expression became solemn. He looked around Paradise. Perhaps because it was a gathering place for Reincarnators, it was filled with barriers of all sizes.

There was no modern internet here.

"Among Mad King’s Royal Authority Power is an extremely troublesome ability that can release memes through the internet."

"Through a meme called Game, he has already captured and influenced more than several hundred thousand East Xia People. The number he has influenced in Japan should be even greater."

"That guy… can in fact already be considered a true king…"

Song Xian deeply disliked lunatics like that, but Reincarnators were just that strange. The more deranged they were, the more terrifying their power tended to be.

The Royal Authority Power in the K World setting was not actually all that powerful, yet he had not expected that man to create such a horrifying large-scale impact.

What he did not mention was that Mad King possessed several kinds of Royal Authority Power at once. One of them could control other Reincarnators, though its exact method of operation remained unknown.

What was currently known was that more than twenty Title-level Reincarnators in the entire East District had likely already been captured.

They included renowned figures such as Red Dust, Mo Shi Mo Wang, and Show.

Show in particular seemed to be highly regarded by the King of Destiny. That was why she had proactively given him a hint and intelligence, wanting Mercenary Tao to participate in the operation.

Song Xian looked at Bai Cangshu’s increasingly brilliant smile and sighed.

To deal with a lunatic, they could only find an even bigger lunatic…
