Royal Authority Power, the Hunt Begins

Tokyo, once known as Asia’s premier metropolis, no longer seemed to possess its former prosperity. Explosions and clamor could be faintly seen and heard everywhere.

Looking down from above the city, one could see teenagers with all kinds of lights flickering across their bodies, excitedly waving their limbs. Occasionally, flames and lightning would shoot out, setting cars on the streets and shops by the roadside ablaze.

This group was exhilarated to the extreme, and the more excited they became, the brighter the light on their bodies grew.

"Awesome, this is so damn awesome!"

"The Game is real, and we’ve become Ability Users too!"

"Move it, let’s go farm some points at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department!"

A group of them shouted as they mounted their motorcycles and set off farther away.

Meanwhile, the former social elites in suits and ties mostly huddled inside bomb shelters and various security facilities, while some hid in office buildings.

Their faces were filled with panic. They had no idea what was happening.

At first, there had only been scattered news reports saying that Ability Users had been appearing more frequently in Tokyo lately, asking the public to remain calm and report any Ability Users they saw to the nearest police station as soon as possible.

But only a few days later, the number of Ability Users exploded.

Many half-grown youths who had previously only worked at convenience stores or wandered the streets aimlessly had suddenly transformed into so-called Ability Users.

These people began displaying violence more and more brazenly. Just as the police started their suppression efforts, a massive sword suddenly appeared in the sky.

After that, everything spiraled out of control. Those youths attacked wildly as if they had gone mad, while new Ability Users sporadically emerged among the crowds.

The only common trait was that after these people "awakened," that constantly flickering light would appear on their bodies.

The reincarnators hidden among the crowds had long realized that something was wrong. Some angrily fought back, intending to suppress these so-called Ability Users.

But they were quickly crushed by even more powerful reincarnators who suddenly appeared.

Others chose to flee outright, but those people seemed capable of directly obtaining everyone’s coordinates. Large numbers of reincarnators began rebelling and fighting among themselves.

In the end, Tokyo completely fell, and the effects continued spreading from Tokyo as their center toward other regions.

In a restaurant somewhere in Ginza, Tokyo, the Mad King sat leisurely, savoring red wine and steak. The faces of the women attending him nearby were pale, and several sections of the exterior glass wall had been smashed not far away.

Those were the traces left after someone had been thrown directly out following a battle here just moments ago.

Red Dust sat on a sofa on the other side, slowly eating while wondering whether that stupid woman had found Mercenary Tao for him.

His gaze toward the Mad King was grave.

This guy was growing stronger at a terrifying rate. That unusual Sword of Damocles was expanding almost without pause.

He could now be certain that, aside from Crimson Submission, which could force contracts upon others and control them, and Verdant Propagation, which used the internet to spread memes, the Mad King’s authority definitely possessed Argent Immutability from the original work, capable of keeping the Sword of Damocles from crashing down.

But the other party possessed a wide variety of Royal Authority Powers. He had seen no fewer than seven different colors alone, so there were certainly even more abilities hidden away.

The girl who had successfully escaped into the sea was most likely the Heart Demon. The Heart Demon’s unique concealment ability was ineffective against the Mad King, so he might also possess some kind of perception-based power or a Fate Aspect power.

Red Dust could not help rubbing his brow. He disliked enemies who fought using special abilities the most, and the Mad King was the absolute worst of them, covered from head to toe in special abilities.

Damn it!

Given the current situation, aside from those Supreme Experts, the only one he could think of who might resolve this incident was Mercenary Tao.

Mercenary Tao’s twisted killing intent would normally make Red Dust uneasy, but now, he was looking forward to someone as twisted as that guy clashing with this madman.

"I heard many people have gone looking for someone to kill this lone king?"

The Mad King’s body was thin now, but his sanity remained. He spoke, and under the influence of the contract, Red Dust and the others could neither lie nor refuse to answer.

They could only force themselves to reply.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Our existence has been exposed. Quite a few reincarnators are contacting top teams from the Third Tier, attempting to assassinate you…"

"Yes, I heard someone contacted… Mercenary Tao…"

"We don’t know whether any of the Excellencies will make a move…"

As each piece of information was gathered, it sounded as though they had reached a perilous point. Yet the man who called himself the Mad King burst into laughter.

"Come, tell them all to hurry over. The reincarnators under my command are still not numerous enough, not strong enough!"

His body began expanding bit by bit. His huge frame quickly crushed the sofa beneath him. The women beside him cried out and tried to escape, but he seized them with one hand.

Amid the sound of robes tearing came screams of flesh being ripped apart.

Red Dust clicked his tongue inwardly. The more Royal Authority Power this guy absorbed, the more chaotic he seemed to become.

"Come quickly, Mercenary Tao… This guy is exactly the kind of prey you like best, isn’t he~"

Whoosh!

Bai Jiming moved at incredible speed, rapidly shifting positions through the mountains and wilderness. Suddenly, he stepped onto the top of a bamboo grove, sprang high into the air, and drew the katana from his back toward the rear.

He slashed fiercely.

Sword of Light!

A dazzling flash lit up, and in the next instant, a figure sprayed blood as he was sent flying from the air.

That person did not linger. The moment he landed, he threw down a smoke bomb. His body split into dozens of figures that fled in different directions.

As the people East Xia had specifically arranged to track Bai Jiming, they were not skilled in combat, but they had some confidence in tracking and escaping.

Killing intent flowed through Bai Jiming’s eyes. His lips moved slightly, and he snorted coldly before turning to flee again.

He did not know whom he had provoked. So many reincarnators kept tracking his location.

Had his identity as a Scarlet Great Sin reincarnator been exposed?

Or had someone learned about what he had done in those places?

Bai Jiming frowned and was about to continue running when his steps suddenly halted. A faint yet lingering killing intent enveloped him.

He lowered his head and looked through layer after layer of bamboo leaves from above the grove, spotting the woman with flowing purple hair within it.

She held a black sword, killing intent permeating the air around her. Seeing that he had discovered her, the woman raised her head and met his gaze.

It was Death Sword Thought Silk!

A flash of realization struck Bai Jiming’s mind. The Heaven had sent Su Qingqiu to attack him earlier.

A Single Thought of Silk, Su Qingqiu… These two…

In the next instant, his eyes widened as terrifying killing intent surged explosively.

"You’re Mercenary Tao’s people!"

For Scarlet Great Sin reincarnators, their greatest enemies and finest prey were inevitably other Scarlet Great Sins!

Everything had been answered here. So these people had treated him as bargaining material to trade to Mercenary Tao?!

Bai Jiming gripped his katana with both hands as intense energy and killing intent gathered around him.

At that moment, A Single Thought of Silk could indeed sense that this Scarlet Great Sin, Temur, possessed an terrifying presence.

It was not based on energy, but on something peculiar…

Buzz!

A pitch-black blade arc suddenly slashed in from behind and to the side. A Single Thought of Silk’s pupils contracted sharply.

So fast!

It was unimaginably fast!

A Single Thought of Silk bent at the waist as though it had snapped, her entire body nearly brushing the ground as she dodged the strike. She immediately countered with a torrential sword assault that engulfed several hundred meters around them.

Pitch-black deathly intent drifted within it.
