Battle Against the Insect Generals

Hearing Hela mention what had happened before, Thor immediately turned and glared furiously at Hulk. "Hulk, you actually ambushed me?"

"That wasn’t an ambush. It was strategy, understand?"

Hulk said righteously, "Hulk isn’t like you. Hulk eats brains."

Thor was so furious that smoke practically came out of every orifice. Skye shouted, "Thor, there’s a powerful enemy before us. Focus on our common enemy first. Once the battle is over, no one will stop you from doing whatever you want."

"Hulk, just you wait."

Thor shot Hulk a glare, then turned to Hela and shouted, "Hela, don’t think you can escape today. I’ll make you pay."

Hela looked utterly disdainful. "Just you?"

At that moment, Grand Duchess Sarah, protected by a group of guards, loudly asked, "Who exactly are you? What is your relationship with Queen Skye?"

Skye could not help glancing at Grand Duchess Sarah. That old woman was actually trying to frame her at a time like this.

"Who am I? I am Hela, Hela, Death’s Follower God. Beside me is Annihilus, king of all Arthrosians."

Hela smiled and said, "The two of us are the supreme leaders of the Arthrosians Disaster."

Everyone present erupted into an uproar. The final bosses had actually appeared?

Duke Brie asked in a low voice, "What have you come here for?"

"To announce our purpose to you."

Hela said, "Everything the Arthrosians and I have done has been to preserve the balance of the universe. You should accept it with gratitude, not resist it."

"The balance of the universe? Are you lunatics? You slaughtered the universe for some so-called balance?"

The representatives cursed furiously. How could there be such shameless people in this world? They killed them, yet expected their gratitude?

"What is your relationship with the Mad Titan, Thanos?"

Duke Brie could not help asking. What they had just said sounded very similar to Thanos’s rhetoric.

"I am Thanos’s successor. After Thanos was killed by the Blood God, I will fulfill his mission."

Hela raised the Night Sky Sword and shouted, "You have two paths. One: obediently accept your fate and help preserve the balance of the universe. Two: die here, every last one of you."

Annihilus said in a hoarse voice, "After today, there will be no more alliance."

"Dream on. You idiots actually came here to throw your lives away. Destroy them and end this insect disaster."

Grand Duchess Sarah loudly commanded the densely packed warships in the sky—the warships had arrived to provide support.

At the command, the energy cannons aboard the warships all lit up and aimed downward, preparing to give Hela and the others a taste of their power.

"It seems you chose the second path. In that case, all of you can go die."

Hela grinned. The Night Sky Sword trembled, and countless swords suddenly appeared around her, seemingly without end. Then, they shot simultaneously toward the fleet overhead and the representatives below, each one producing a violent sonic boom.

"Protect the representatives first."

As Skye destroyed the swords with vibration waves, she shouted loudly. Everyone nodded and used their various abilities to destroy the swords. Strange even cast a spell, transferring a large number of swords behind the Annihilation Insect Generals.

The Annihilation Insect Generals snorted coldly and released negative-energy shockwaves, destroying the swords one after another.

As Hela attacked, the warships in the sky all fired in her direction. Hundreds of energy beams howled out at once, illuminating the entire sky.

But to everyone’s surprise, every one of those energy beams missed—the swords nimbly avoided the beams, continuing to shoot upward through the gaps.

Large numbers of warships were pierced by the swords and exploded. The Defense Shields could not stop these swords of death. They were simply too powerful.

"A bunch of fools."

Hela smiled disdainfully and swung the Night Sky Sword hard. The void was torn open, and all the energy beams fell into it and vanished.

Looking at the flames and warships constantly falling from the sky, Skye hurriedly shouted, "Dr. Strange, teleport all the representatives away."

If the representatives died here, the alliance would become a complete joke.

"Alright."

Strange wasted no words. His right hand spun rapidly, forming a huge portal. Then he shoved the portal forward, and it swept past the representatives, teleporting them all away.

"Skye, there are many people in the city. I need to move them out."

Strange shouted to Skye—there was a simple reason he was not using the Mirror Dimension: it could not contain experts like Hela and Annihilus.

"Alright. Spider-Man, Danny Rand, Daredevil, Power Man, go help evacuate the residents. Damn it, they actually came to fight on my territory."

Skye shouted, "Also, notify all warships not to come over. Have them all evacuate the residents instead. They can’t help with the battle here."

"No problem. Spider-Man loves saving people most."

Spider-Man and the others immediately went to evacuate the city’s residents. With Strange’s magic, it was not difficult.

"Hela! Do you know how many people you just killed?"

Looking at the burning warships filling the sky, Thor trembled with rage. He roared and swung Stormbreaker, slashing at Hela with devastating lightning.

"I spared your life last time. This time, you won’t be so lucky."

Hela raised the Night Sky Sword, covered in Black Light, to block the descending Stormbreaker. Then she turned and shouted at Annihilus, "Insect Emperor, let’s team up and slaughter this planet."

"Exactly what I wanted. Generals, heed my command. Kill these so-called Super Heroes, then wipe out this planet. I don’t want to see a single living person."

Annihilus grinned, and the nine Insect Generals answered in unison, "Yes."

"Yes, my ass."

Hulk flapped his wings as his fists rapidly swelled, then smashed fiercely toward Annihilus with the surrounding space compressed around them.

"Some brute strength."

Annihilus smiled disdainfully and released a negative-energy shockwave with one hand, striking Hulk’s fist. Even with Hulk’s brute strength, the shockwave stopped him.

Annihilus was about to put in more force and blast Hulk away when a dazzling beam of energy shot in from the side and struck its body squarely, sending it flying backward.

Before Annihilus could stop, a radiant figure appeared out of thin air beside it, both fists repeatedly smashing toward its head.

Annihilus snorted and vanished directly. When it reappeared, it was already behind Captain Marvel. It condensed Negative Space energy into a massive blade and slashed fiercely at Captain Marvel’s neck.

Captain Marvel sensed the danger and hurriedly dodged aside. Annihilus followed up with a kick, sending Captain Marvel flying with a bang.

Annihilus traversed space and instantly arrived behind Captain Marvel. Just as it was about to attack, a powerful force struck its back, sending it flying forward.

Captain Marvel shouted, and the energy light behind her transformed into countless spikes, waiting for Annihilus to crash into them.

Seeing this, Annihilus traversed space and appeared in front of Captain Marvel. Then, it locked onto the shrunken Hulk and swiped its hand. Space rippled like water as it surged toward Hulk.

"This Insect Emperor’s spatial abilities are powerful."

Captain Marvel slapped the void, making it shudder. The spatial ripples instantly dispersed, and Hulk enlarged himself beside her. Together, they confronted Annihilus.

Annihilus took a liking to their talents and said to Captain Marvel and Hulk, "You two are quite good. I am willing to give you an opportunity. If you submit to me, I will turn you into insect gods, and you will share glory with the great Arthrosians."

"Hulk has no interest in becoming an insect. Besides, what are you to think you’re qualified to recruit us?"

Hulk said disdainfully, "You can’t even compare to Hulk’s boss."

"You led the Arthrosians in slaughtering the universe. You must die."

Captain Marvel wasted no words. Covered in dazzling radiance, she charged at Annihilus, with Hulk following close behind.

"You’re courting death."

Annihilus flew into a rage. Vast amounts of black negative energy bloomed from its body as it controlled space, forming two massive hands that grabbed fiercely at them.

Captain Marvel and Hulk punched at the same time. The spatial hands exploded instantly, becoming a Space Storm that swept through the surroundings. The arena below was obliterated in an instant.

That was why Strange had to evacuate the residents—battles between god-level experts were too terrifying. One careless mistake could erase an entire city.

While Annihilus battled Captain Marvel and Hulk, Tony, Damon, Electro, Mindy, and the others faced the nine Insect Generals.

A powerfully built Insect General, its wings shaped like shields, looked at Black Bolt and said greedily, "Your flesh must be delicious."

"I hope you live long enough to hear my song. It’s called ‘Trepidation.’"

Black Bolt snorted and rapidly uttered sounds. Sonic Waves surged one after another toward the hulking Insect General, whose expression changed slightly as it used its wings as shields against them.

The hulking Insect General’s wings were extremely tough, but the Sonic Waves were more powerful than it had imagined. It was blasted backward again and again.

This guy is strong.

The hulking Insect General was secretly alarmed. A large number of invisible flying insects quietly emerged from behind it and flew toward Black Bolt. Black Bolt was exceptionally sensitive to sound and detected them immediately. He smiled contemptuously, uttered a single syllable, and the invisible insects were all shattered.

Rather than being alarmed, the hulking Insect General was delighted. Those invisible insects had only been meant to distract Black Bolt. Behind Black Bolt, a scythe-like forelimb suddenly appeared and stabbed fiercely toward the center of his back like lightning.

This hulking Insect General could actually traverse space—indeed, all the Insect Generals could.

Black Bolt sensed the movement behind him and released a low "ah." A Sonic Wave echoed around him, and the moment the forelimb touched it, it was shattered. The hulking Insect General was startled and hurriedly withdrew its forelimb.

Black Bolt took the opportunity to raise his volume. The Condensed Sonic Wave he had gathered earlier suddenly erupted, pushing layers upon layers of space toward the hulking Insect General.

The hulking Insect General hurriedly concentrated all its Negative Space energy into its wings, but it was useless—its wings were instantly shattered, and the remaining Sonic Wave continued to blast toward its body.

The hulking Insect General was terrified out of its wits and hurriedly traversed space, fleeing hundreds of meters away.

Black Bolt immediately pursued it with his song. After more than a year of training, he could now control his ability. He was extremely powerful now; a mere hulking Insect General was no match for him.

Meanwhile, Damon, transformed into a flaming skeleton, swung the Hellfire Chain hard at a tall, thin Insect General. The tall, thin Insect General smiled contemptuously and effortlessly dodged as if using Teleportation, causing Damon’s chain to miss.

The tall, thin Insect General asked curiously, "What kind of monster are you? How did you end up looking like this?"

"In my eyes, you’re the monster."

Damon snorted and swung the Hellfire Chain hard around the tall, thin Insect General. Blue hellfire rapidly burned, completely surrounding it.

A mocking glint flashed in the tall, thin Insect General’s eyes. It traversed space and suddenly appeared behind Damon, driving a dagger fiercely into the back of Damon’s head.

The dagger contained powerful energy, instantly piercing through Damon’s skull. Yet Damon did not die. He suddenly turned around and shouted at the tall, thin Insect General, "Look into my eyes."

The tall, thin Insect General instinctively looked into Damon’s eyes and found his eye sockets full of blue flames. Then, memories of its life surfaced in its mind—a life of devouring and slaughtering.

Then… there was nothing.

"What kind of magic was that? It was pretty fun. Can you do it again?"

The tall, thin Insect General asked with great interest. It had seen many memories it had forgotten before, and it was incredibly entertaining.

Damon asked incredulously, "Why are you fine? Don’t you have even a shred of guilt or sin in your heart?"

"What is guilt?"

The tall, thin Insect General asked in confusion, "Why should I feel guilty?"

Damon immediately understood. These Arthrosians simply did not possess complete emotions. In their eyes, everything they did was perfectly natural, just like wolves eating sheep.

"Damn it."

Damon cursed and turned, kicking the tall, thin Insect General away. He hated insects because they were completely immune to his Penance Stare.

"I’ll capture you and lock you in a cell, then make you use that ability on me every day."

The tall, thin Insect General said excitedly. Then it moved at extreme speed around Damon, leaving its figure everywhere one looked.

Damon’s teeth hurt even more. He shouted, and the blue hellfire around his body expanded wildly outward, intending to burn the tall, thin Insect General to death completely.

The tall, thin Insect General had been waiting for this chance. The dagger in its hand transformed into invisible threads that rushed into the flames and wrapped around Damon’s rib. Then it moved rapidly, binding Damon tightly with the threads.

Damon was startled and hurriedly drew in the flames to burn the invisible threads. To his surprise, the threads were completely unaffected, as if immune to fire.

"Your flames are far from sufficient."

The tall, thin Insect General chuckled and poured a vast amount of Negative Space energy into the invisible threads. The threads suddenly contracted, dismembering Damon in an instant. Countless bone fragments with smooth wounds fell to the ground.

"That should have killed you for good, right?"

The tall, thin Insect General laughed loudly, unable to conceal its pride—it had only spoken of capturing Damon alive to make him lower his guard.

Just as the tall, thin Insect General was gloating, a chain traversed space and silently wrapped around its right foot. It was greatly shocked and hurriedly traversed Negative Space, trying to escape the chain’s restraint.

But to the tall, thin Insect General’s astonishment, the chain not only followed it through space, it rapidly crept upward, trying to bind its entire body.

The tall, thin Insect General emerged from the void, preparing to cut apart the chain. At that moment, a tremendous force came through it, and its body toppled backward uncontrollably.

"Weren’t you good at running? Let’s see how you run now."

Damon, who had restored himself in a short time, sneered and swung the Hellfire Chain hard. The tall, thin Insect General spun at high speed through the air.

Then Damon swung hard, smashing the tall, thin Insect General into the ground with a boom. The ground instantly caved in into a massive crater, and dust soared into the sky.
