#361
Fierce Battle
"You still didn’t die?"
The tall, thin Insect General lay in the crater, covered in blood, staring in disbelief. Damon had been blown to pieces just moments ago.
"Sorry, I’m immortal."
Damon shrugged and replied calmly. With the dual protection of Heaven and Hell, dying was difficult even if he wanted to.
Furthermore, Wang Bert had specially upgraded Damon’s chains. They could not only extend infinitely and coil around targets automatically, but also travel through space. They were practically divine artifacts now.
"I refuse to believe anyone can be immortal."
Hearing Damon’s answer, the tall, thin Insect General gritted its teeth and shouted. At the same time, it secretly controlled invisible threads to wrap around the chains, intending to sever them.
"I don’t know whether I can die, but you definitely will."
Damon immediately noticed the tall, thin Insect General’s movements. The chains trembled, and the blue flames upon them burst outward, blasting all the threads away.
Right afterward, Damon swung the tall, thin Insect General around again. The Insect General had dominated through speed, but now that it was bound, more than half its strength was gone. It was only a matter of time before Damon finished it off.
Elsewhere, Mindy faced a Patterned Insect General covered in strange markings. Looking at the crown on Mindy’s head, the Patterned Insect General sneered. "That’s ugly."
"I think so too, but I can’t help it. It’s powerful, so I have to wear it."
Mindy sighed. Even after shrinking down, Surtur’s Crown was still unbelievably ugly. If her opponent were not God-Devil Level, she would never have worn it.
"How powerful can it be? More powerful than me?"
The Patterned Insect General smiled disdainfully as its body rapidly split apart. One became two, two became four, four became eight… In the blink of an eye, Patterned Insect Generals filled the area.
These Patterned Insect Generals were clones, not illusions. Each possessed formidable combat power, and combined with their ability to travel through space, the Patterned Insect General was fully confident it could devour Mindy and replenish its nutrients.
"See for yourself. Uncle, get to work."
Mindy spread her hands, and a mountain-sized fiery phantom suddenly appeared behind her. It was Surtur. Before giving the crown to Mindy, Wang Bert had made it fuse with the Eternal Fire. In other words, Surtur had regained his strength.
However, Surtur’s memories and consciousness had been erased by Wang Bert. He was now essentially a newborn soul, and he was very close to Mindy.
"No problem. Uncle will roast some bugs for you. Still, I keep feeling like I’m supposed to destroy somewhere. When you have time, visit some other places. Maybe you’ll run into it."
Surtur spoke. Even with his memories erased, he still wanted to destroy Asgard. That desire had long seeped into his bones and soul.
"No problem."
Mindy chuckled, secretly deciding that she would never visit Asgard for the rest of her life. Otherwise, Asgard would be demolished by flames.
Surtur’s appearance gave the Patterned Insect General quite a fright, but it soon sneered. "You think some phantom can scare me?"
"Little girl, sense my blazing fire. Flames are alive. As long as you resonate with them, they can help you burn everything in the world, including space."
Surtur spread his arms, and the surroundings instantly became a world of flames. The Patterned Insect General’s clones burst into flame the moment they touched the fire, then swiftly turned to ash.
The Patterned Insect General’s expression changed drastically. It immediately tried to travel through space, only to discover that even space had been burned away by the raging fire. It let out a desperate scream as its entire body was engulfed in flames.
One minute later, the Patterned Insect General had become ash. Surtur flew back into Mindy’s crown. Mindy seemed to have gained some insight, and she mounted the small motorcycle beside her, trailing green flames as she charged toward another Insect General fighting Electro.
Caught off guard, the Insect General was sent flying by the motorcycle. With a boom, it smashed into a nearby mountain, its entire body embedded within it.
"Mindy, looks like we’ll be fighting side by side."
Electro, transformed into a Thunder Giant, smiled kindly. Mindy giggled and said, "You’re the main force. I’ll harass them from the sides."
"No problem."
Electro chuckled. At that moment, the Insect General that had been knocked away suddenly appeared behind him and threw an Earth-Shattering punch at Electro’s head.
Electro’s head instantly turned into lightning. Before the Insect General could celebrate, however, two electric hands extended from Electro’s back and dragged it into the Thunder Giant’s body.
Then, in a flash of electricity, Electro appeared some distance away and controlled the lightning inside the Thunder Giant to bombard the Insect General. The Insect General tried to travel through space and escape, only to find that the lightning had disrupted space itself, making travel impossible.
As Mindy threw flaming darts at the Insect General, she asked curiously, "Wow, Uncle Max, you reached God-Devil Level?"
"Mr. Wang gave me a Thunder Stone. I broke through a few months ago."
Electro smiled. "I’m still far behind Thor, but at least I haven’t fallen behind. I can keep fighting for Mr. Wang."
For Electro, fighting for Wang Bert was the greatest meaning of his existence. Without Wang Bert, how could he have become who he was today? Among all the Super Heroes, he was the most loyal to Wang Bert.
That was why Wang Bert had given the Other-Universe Thunder Stone to Electro. If Electro continued to improve in the future, Wang Bert would not be stingy with Lightning Origin. It was not as if he lacked "money."
"Under Master’s guidance, Earth has more and more powerful people."
Mindy smiled and joined Electro in surrounding the Insect General, determined to finish it as quickly as possible.
Everyone else was fighting, and Tony Stark naturally would not lag behind. Wearing his gold-and-red Nanotech Armor, he floated before an Insect General covered in holes and said, "That look is very avant-garde. I never expected insects to have artists too."
"Food. Food with no nutritional value."
The Insect General glanced at Tony Stark and said with disgust, "Get lost. You’re not qualified to be eaten by me."
"Food? Food even insects dislike?"
Tony’s face turned green. He was Iron Man, and someone was actually looking down on him like this?
Tony secretly glanced around. When he saw no one paying attention, he breathed a sigh of relief. If the others heard that, he would be utterly humiliated.
Unfortunately, Tony did not know that Wang Bert, the great director himself, was filming everywhere with a camera. He planned to make a documentary titled "My God-Level Disciples."
The Insect General could not be bothered to waste words on Tony. It could not even be bothered to kill him. It turned away to search for more nutritious food. Tony snorted and slapped his chest. A massive amount of new Nanoparticles surged from the device and swiftly enveloped the entire gold-and-red armor.
As the new Nanoparticles covered it, the armor gradually turned black. It looked incredibly vicious, as if it were a living creature.
The Godslayer Armor had officially made its appearance.
Sensing something, the Insect General turned back to Tony and asked in surprise, "Your armor seems to be alive?"
"Of course it is. Take this."
Tony did not waste words. Raising a hand, he fired a pitch-black Pulse Cannon at the Insect General.
This new Pulse Cannon used space as its energy source and was incredibly fast. The moment it lit up, it had already arrived before the Insect General. Slightly startled, the Insect General fired a wave of Negative Space energy from a hole in its chest.
The two beams violently collided before the Insect General and exploded with a boom, blasting it away on the spot. Borrowing the force, it flew into the sky and said, "Your body has no nutritional value, but your armor is quite good."
As it spoke, all the holes on the Insect General’s body lit up at once, and dozens of Negative Space energy waves shot toward Tony.
Tony teleported into the sky, and more than ten turrets popped out from his body, firing energy cannons at the Insect General simultaneously.
The Insect General opened its mouth wide and released a huge energy wave. It split into more than ten smaller waves in midair and collided with Tony’s energy cannons. Boom, boom, boom! Explosions continuously erupted in the sky, shockwaves rolling as the entire void trembled.
Tony took the opportunity to teleport behind the Insect General. Then, light flared from the backs of his hands, and two black lasers swept toward the Insect General at once.
Sensing danger, the Insect General immediately traveled through space to Tony’s right. Then it shouted, and a swarm of tiny insects flew from the holes in its body, beating their wings as they crashed toward Tony at astonishing speed.
"Their energy is highly unstable. They should be Exploding Insects."
Tony quickly analyzed the insects’ type. A strange semicircular device flew out from behind him, and a gravitational field suddenly enveloped the Exploding Insects. Their internal energy was unstable to begin with, and under the pressure of gravity, they immediately exploded one after another.
"Nice fireworks."
Tony said smugly, "Insect, do you know that this brain of mine is the most valuable in the Entire Universe?"
Though Tony was boasting, it was not much of an exaggeration. If people learned that he had developed divine armor, every faction would go mad trying to seize his… brain.
It was divine armor. The great empires had coveted divine power for a long time.
Tony’s divine armor did not use Arc Reactor energy. It used Space Energy.
That was right, Space Energy, the Space Energy extracted by the imitation Bifrost. Tony had always wanted to merge this energy with Nanoparticles and create the Godslayer Armor, but he had never succeeded until the Symbiote appeared.
Tony fused the Symbiote with Nanoparticles, creating a new material capable of absorbing Space Energy. Thus, the Godslayer Armor was born.
The Godslayer Armor’s combat power far surpassed Tony’s previous armor. It could even teleport and heal itself, but it was not without weaknesses.
The Godslayer Armor had two weaknesses. First, it placed high demands on its user. The armor was too powerful; if the user’s body was not strong enough, they could be crushed into paste in minutes.
The other weakness was that the armor’s energy could only be supplied by the imitation Bifrost. Therefore, every time Tony depleted its energy, he had to return to the Space Station to recharge it.
That was why Tony had not used the Godslayer Armor from the beginning. If the energy could not be replenished, it would be easy to run out.
In addition, Tony was trying to produce Space Energy himself, but that was obviously an enormous undertaking and would not be easy to succeed at.
Setting that aside for now, after hearing Tony’s words, the Insect General nodded. "Understood. I’ll eat your brain first later."
Tony was speechless. Should he praise it for recognizing quality?
"Enough nonsense. Die."
Tony snorted. Nanoparticles formed a multitude of energy cannons and fired at the Insect General. The Insect General countered with Negative Space Shockwaves. The two blasted each other like opposing fleets, creating an incomparably intense scene.
Annihilus had brought nine divine Insect Generals, but all nine were held back by the Super Heroes. Earth’s strength was growing greater and greater.
Let us turn back time a little. Clang, clang, clang… Stormbreaker and the Night Sky Sword continuously clashed fiercely in midair. Every collision stirred up a storm in the surroundings. More terrifyingly, faint black cracks appeared in space.
"You’ve improved a little."
Hela sneered. "But you still mainly rely on brute force. Your control hasn’t improved much from before."
"Why train control? I’m this powerful. Wouldn’t it be enough to just smash my opponent to death?"
As Thor spoke arrogantly, he raised his left hand. A massive bolt of lightning crashed down from the sky toward Hela. Before the lightning even arrived, the space beneath it was already trembling violently, making escape difficult.
"An idiot remains an idiot."
Hela smiled contemptuously, black light carrying runes shining in her eyes. Then she slashed her sword toward the sky in a plain, unremarkable strike. The lightning was instantly split in two before dissipating in the air.
"How is that possible?"
Thor’s eyes nearly popped out. Thinking of something, he asked Hela in shock, "You can use rune power too?"
"What do you think? Odin and I both can. Only an idiot like you took this long to comprehend it, and you even thought you were impressive."
Hela smiled disdainfully and swung her sword, countless sword shadows shrouding Thor at once.
"You both can?"
Thor looked thoroughly annoyed. He had thought he was the only one who could use it, which was why he had been especially smug. Who would have thought it was so common?
Thor cursed and swiftly swung Stormbreaker. Ax shadows formed of lightning blasted forward, shattering every sword shadow before him.
At that moment, Hela appeared beside one of the sword shadows. Then she thrust her sword straight ahead. The sword transformed into a terrifying sword beam more than a hundred meters long and stabbed mightily toward Thor.
This strike was unimaginably powerful. It pierced through the entire void, while a Space Storm spiraled around the sword beam and charged at Thor alongside it.
Thor’s expression changed drastically. He roared and swung Stormbreaker, carrying violent lightning, toward the sword beam with all his strength.
Thor was already weaker than Hela, and he had launched his attack in haste. The result was obvious. Thor flew away like a meteor and crashed into the ground with a boom. The ground split apart with a rumble, and a massive Shockwave swept through the area. Large numbers of houses collapsed with crashing sounds, as if the apocalypse had descended.
When the dust settled, Thor struggled out of the huge crater. His armor was covered in cracks, and his face was smeared with blood that flickered with lightning.
"Now do you understand how important control is?"
Hela sneered. "Of course, even if you understand, it’s useless, because you’re about to die."
"I won’t die, Hela. I will defeat you."
Thor gritted his teeth and roared. Though he knew he was no match for Hela, Asgardians never admitted defeat.
"Wow, Odin, I truly see you in a new light. You actually managed to raise such a daughter."
Beneath the sea, the Great Serpent looked at Hela in admiration and said, "She is practically Asgard’s perfect heir. I’ve decided not to kill her. She will become my Eldest Princess and destroy Earth and conquer the universe with me."
"The greatest regret of my life was raising Hela into the Goddess of Death."
Odin sighed. "I erased her personality and turned her into a tool, a tool for me to conquer the universe. If Heaven gave me another chance, I would never do that again. I would spoil her as my Little Princess. Whatever she wanted, I would give it to her."
"Foolish. Hela is far stronger than that idiot son of yours. She is a true Asgardian."
The Great Serpent said disdainfully, "Asgard should make the Entire Universe fear it and submit to it."
