Be Kind to All Under Heaven, Beginning Class Assignments

As the melody began, many people immediately started rolling around on the ground in agony. Su Yu sighed inwardly. Kids these days—only twelve years old, yet so many of them harbored ulterior motives and teemed with evil thoughts.

The further the tune progressed, the more people withdrew. Su Yu swept his gaze over the crowd and saw that only thirty-four were truly unaffected. Yet one of them caught his attention: a little boy.

The little boy’s eyes shone like stars. Su Yu could tell that he did not feel the slightest discomfort. On the contrary, he seemed extremely comfortable.

Before long, the little boy’s Soul Power directly broke through by one level. No one else noticed, but Su Yu saw it clearly. Mo Qi, who had been watching Su Yu all along, noticed it as well.

A faint smile appeared on Su Yu’s lips when he saw the child. Any child who could break through by listening to the chant had to be exceptionally kind-hearted. Su Yu felt that such a child had even greater potential than those with outstanding talent.

As the tune neared its end, everyone with ulterior motives and minds filled with evil had withdrawn. Su Yu was already somewhat stunned as he watched the little boy from before, because the boy had broken through three levels in a row, rising from level twenty-seven to level thirty. Su Yu even felt that if he had not reached level thirty, he might have continued breaking through!

When the tune ended, the first thing Su Yu did was calculate the little boy’s fate. Afterward, he sent a voice transmission to Mo Qi. "Bring me that little boy I was watching earlier."

Mo Qi nodded, then went straight to find the little boy, while Su Yu left the training field.

Su Yu had already learned everything about the little boy. His name was Xu Xing. His parents had died shortly after he was born, and he had grown up living off his uncle’s family. His aunt and cousin treated him badly, but his uncle treated him well, so he had never resented his aunt and cousin for bullying him since childhood.

Whenever he had anything good, he always wanted to share it with them. When Xu Xing was five, his uncle went away, and his aunt and cousin even stopped giving him food. Yet he felt no resentment whatsoever. Everyone in the village knew about Xu Xing’s situation, so many people invited him to eat at their homes.

Naturally, Xu Xing refused to eat for free, so he went around helping people every day. When he encountered good dishes during meals, he would sometimes take them back for his aunt and cousin. The villagers all said he was foolish and wondered why he treated that mother and son so well.

Yet Xu Xing did not care in the least. Since childhood, he had treated everyone kindly, whether they treated him well or badly.

When he was six, Xu Xing awakened the Blazing Firebird Martial Soul and possessed level-nine Innate Soul Power. His cousin’s Martial Soul was a useless one, and his Soul Power was at level zero. Thus, his aunt and cousin became jealous and completely drove Xu Xing out.

At the time, the villagers all cursed his aunt for being short-sighted. Level-nine Innate Soul Power—he was a genius no matter what! He would definitely become a Soul Master in the future!

Even so, Xu Xing still held no resentment toward his aunt or cousin. The villagers sent Xu Xing to a junior academy to study.

Six years later, Xu Xing was twelve. One day, when he returned home, he heard that his uncle had encountered a two-thousand-year-old tiger on the mountain outside their village while returning two months earlier. His aunt had immediately taken his cousin back to her parents’ home without hesitation. By now, both had remarried.

Xu Xing became angry for the first time. He charged into the mountain alone to look for that Soul Beast. With his strength, fighting a two-thousand-year-old Soul Beast was extremely difficult, but for his uncle’s sake, he went without the slightest hesitation.

He spent seven days and seven nights in the mountain, battling that tiger-type Soul Beast for seven days and seven nights. Relying on his unyielding will, he killed the tiger.

Since his birth, Xu Xing had treated the entire world kindly. His mind was pure, without a trace of impurity. Su Yu liked people like that very much. After calculating Xu Xing’s experiences, Su Yu even wanted to curse and say that this kid was too foolish.

If it had been Su Yu, and his aunt and cousin had bullied him since childhood and refused to give him food, it would have been good enough if he had not beaten them. Giving them good things? How could that be possible!

Before long, Mo Qi brought Xu Xing over. The moment Xu Xing saw Su Yu, he immediately became restrained. How could he not be? After all, he had personally seen Su Yu release nine Soul Rings.

"Don’t be nervous. Am I really that scary?" Su Yu asked with a smile.

Xu Xing honestly replied, "T-Teacher, I… I’ve never seen a Titled Douluo before, so I’m very excited…"

Su Yu smiled. "Xu Xing, I called you here because of something. I want to accept you as my disciple. What do you think? Will you agree?"

"Huh?" Xu Xing was dumbfounded, staring at Su Yu with an expression of disbelief.

Mo Qi immediately nudged Xu Xing. "What are you standing there for? Countless people would beg for the chance to take His Excellency as their teacher!"

Xu Xing immediately nodded, then bowed to Su Yu. "Xu Xing greets Teacher."

The Douluo Continent did not practice kneeling rites, so Su Yu did not mind at all. Looking at Xu Xing, he said, "Xu Xing, your kindness is a good thing, but in the future, you must learn to restrain it. Otherwise, your kindness will eventually harm you."

Xu Xing asked in confusion, "Why would being good to others harm me?"

Su Yu rubbed Xu Xing’s head. "The people in your little village are simple and honest, but people outside are different. You must always remember these four words: the human heart is treacherous."

Xu Xing still did not understand, but it seemed better to listen to his teacher for now, so he nodded.

Su Yu knew that merely saying this would only make Xu Xing listen for the moment. He would surely continue treating others kindly in the future. Su Yu was not in a hurry. The best way to resolve this was to wait until Xu Xing personally experienced the treachery of the human heart.

No matter how much Su Yu said now, it would not compare to Xu Xing encountering someone treacherous in the future.

Su Yu looked at Mo Qi. "How are you assigning these five hundred and thirty students to classes?"

Mo Qi replied, "This is what I decided. We’ll select the fifty most talented students from the five hundred to form Class One, then randomly divide the remaining students into nine classes."

After thinking for a moment, Su Yu said, "Let’s do it this way. Put the thirty children who listened to the entire chant into Class One, then find twenty promising students to add to Class One. I’ll teach Class One from now on."

"Understood, Your Excellency. I’ll take care of it right away!" Mo Qi immediately nodded and left. Su Yu looked at Xu Xing and said, "Go fill out your enrollment information. While you’re in the Outer Academy, you’ll stay in the student dormitories. Once you advance to the Inner Academy, you’ll live with me."

Xu Xing nodded, then left.

After Mo Qi left, he immediately began handling the class assignments. He could not let any spoiled young masters end up in Class One.
