Bestowing Titles

"Looking outside would break the rules."

"Because of your instructions, although many people came to the island every day, no one in the outside world knew what the Void Cult’s trial actually was."

Upon hearing Mr. Kassadin’s words, Sonia spoke up.

"I never told you to publicize it directly."

"You can first look around and see whether there are any suitable candidates."

"After you bring them back, I’ll observe them. If they can pass my test—"

"Then let her join the Void Cult and take over the work of managing information reports."

Harvey said upon hearing this.

Although Sonia was highly capable and extremely reliable, as the saying went, you shouldn’t put all your good eggs in one basket.

Otherwise, if Sonia ever left and everything on Void Island fell into paralysis because no one was there to handle it, the problem would be enormous.

"I’m the one recommending them?"

"Wouldn’t that be somewhat overstepping?"

Hearing Mr. Kassadin’s instructions, Sonia pointed at her own face and asked incredulously.

"If the other Void Cult members find out, they might start questioning some of the Void Cult’s rules."

"Once doubts arise, more people may start breaking the rules."

It was precisely because Sonia knew that her position was more special in the eyes of the other Void Cult members.

So let alone breaking the rules, she knew full well that she had the responsibility to set an example.

Therefore, Sonia had never considered bringing in any of her former friends, seniors, or juniors, and she rarely even went out for leisure.

Nor did she bring her friends to Void Island to have fun, all to avoid stirring up gossip.

"I’m telling you to look for suitable candidates, not to directly tell them how to pass the trial. That won’t break the rules."

Harvey said calmly.

"I see. I’ll screen them carefully."

Sonia immediately understood upon hearing this and nodded.

Even if she thought someone was suitable and recommended her, it would only mean giving that person a better chance to pass the trial.

It did not mean that the person Sonia recommended could directly receive the Void Cult’s blessing. That indeed would not count as breaking the rules.

As for whether there would be any sense of unfairness, Sonia had never considered such things, because those were the rules.

"Mm. Take a good rest over the next few days, and screen some candidates while you’re at it."

Seeing that Sonia understood his meaning, Harvey nodded in satisfaction.

"Even if I want to rest, I still have to do my assigned work."

"At most, I’ll set aside two hours each day to go out for a walk."

"And I’ll give myself more time to sleep."

Sonia said with a smile.

When Mr. Kassadin was not on Void Island, after finishing her assigned work—

She still could not feel at ease about the situation on the island, so she could not relax and go out to have fun.

Thus, she could only find things for herself to do on the island.

Now that Mr. Kassadin had returned and intended to stay for a while—

She naturally did not need to worry as much. After going out to handle business as before, she could consider staying outside a little longer.

"Mm, just arrange those things as you see fit."

Seeing that Sonia had already made plans, Harvey knew that was simply her personality and did not say much more.

"Then I’ll head out first and see if there are any suitable candidates."

"Mr. Kassadin, you can do whatever you want after leaving Xandar, but remember not to run around the island in your current identity."

Sonia nodded at his words, greeted Mr. Kassadin, and prepared to head out.

Seeing Sonia remind him to mind his behavior as soon as she stepped out the door, lest he damage his image, Harvey merely nodded without minding it.

Afterward, Sonia dressed up, changing into a pure white long dress and putting on a sun hat before setting off, looking innocent and captivating.

If there were candidates who could help her complete some of her work, Sonia naturally hoped to find people to share her burden.

After all, not everyone could pass the Void Cult’s trial.

So Sonia could only take everything she was capable of doing upon herself.

But now that she had received Mr. Kassadin’s instructions and was allowed to seek out some candidates, she happily set off in a space fighter.

As for where to find beautiful women who possessed both beauty and ability, Celebrity Hotel was naturally the place to look.

Moreover, Sonia was so familiar with Celebrity Hotel that she knew the personalities of all her colleagues.

So she already had candidates in mind. All she needed to do was find a way to bring them to Void Island.

Seeing Sonia leave in high spirits, Harvey directly looked down over the situation on Void Island.

Not only did Void Island now have many different training facilities, but it also basically had every sort of entertainment facility as well.

Aside from its small population, it was essentially the equivalent of a developed small city.

It was also because food, drink, and entertainment were all readily available that the atmosphere on Void Island was incredibly relaxed. Not a single Void Cult member wore a troubled expression.

Seeing this, Harvey felt somewhat comforted, having initially been troubled over how to manage things.

Perhaps Sonia, as the administrator, also saw how harmonious the island was. That was why, despite having so many things to deal with every day, she felt neither irritation nor resentment.

Because as long as they were given sufficiently generous rewards and their responsibilities were properly assigned, these people would become the foundation for the gradual growth of the Void Cult.

However, considering the system of bestowed titles, Harvey began pondering it thoughtfully.

Compared with work, status and responsibilities truly gave people greater motivation.

Moreover, the Void Cult was currently still in its early stage. Its members served only him and their fellow members, rather than other intelligent lifeforms.

So there would not be situations where someone fulfilled their duties yet received no gratitude in return.

After thinking it over, Harvey directly left Xandar and returned to Blue Star, where he bought a large number of books related to myths and legends.

They covered everything from Chinese mythology to Western mythology.

Then Harvey brought them back to Void Island on Xandar and began reading through them while drinking beverages and eating snacks.

These myths and legends originally contained systems for assigning duties and titles.

He wanted to see whether there was anything he could draw upon. Then, he could give the other members prestigious titles and have them take on the corresponding responsibilities.

Just like Thor of Asgard, who came to understand his responsibilities and learned to proactively protect the Nine Realms, those were the corresponding duties brought about by one’s status.

Of course, the Void Cult had not yet grown to that extent. For now, it first needed to consider how to better establish a self-sustaining food cycle on the island.

So Harvey’s priority was to consider the responsibilities of farming and livestock breeding, and naturally he read myths and legends related to abundance.
